Well as you know I was having quite the dilemma over WHAT Bella to use on my mother’s (late) birthday card. I wanted it to be special.
I know she LOVES the Bella’s, since she always tells me when she sees them on my blog. I just couldn’t figure out which one would work BEST.
I gave you some info on her, and I asked for your help. Thank you SOOOO much for all the amazing responses. The suggestions were ALL fabulous. Upon picking the random winner, I noted that she chose 2 to use-Sweetybellas & Gardenbella. I thought again-well which one? I cant decide between the 2.
I loved so many of the ideas offered, and WHY I should choose X. Then, the light-bulb went off!
My mother always said, when you become a mother (and are a women in general) you have many hats to wear. You are many people. I never really got it, until I grew up and realized I too have many roles in life, and mom is just ONE of MANY!!
THAT idea, with ALL the suggestions inspired my card!
The card is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2. Quite large, but I think she will love the thought, and idea behind it.
I took parts from various Bella’s to create this.
Super Woman
Well here it is!!
My mom also always says we have to be like super woman-do it all, in just one day! Got be strong and hold everything together. That is what being a woman was all about.
I made this to represent some of the important “roles’ my mom plays. A real life super-woman.
I did this to be like a life progression:
From left to right-
top rowshe was 1) a wife 2) then carried me for 9 months 3) then she gave me life 4) this is her every morning in the terry cloth bathrobe, and pink sponge curler’s, with her endless cup of coffee (too bad she didn’t have a phone attached to her ear! LOL!) 5) this is her after she gets all dressed, make-up perfect.
2nd row-6) you nurse your children to health, kiss every bump and bruise, stay up endless nights when they are sick 7) you are a housekeeper/maid 8) you are a teacher and teach your children everything about the world 9) you are the cook, food provider/gardener.
last row10) You are the baker and birthday/party planner, class volunteer 11) the Fix It person. From boo-boo’s , and broken hearts, to anything else that needs repair 12) she is a painter and the crafty person (that was her hobby/passion at one time) 12) you are a friend, my best friend.
Well there you have it.
My mom never took time for herself. That is the one thing I swore I would do.
When I grew up my mom became my best friend. I hope I can do just some, of the many, great things my mom did while raising me, for my children. She was ALWAYS there for me. Growing up I knew I could trust and confide in her. My stregnth, strong will, and determination all come from her. My feeling’s for traditions to pass on to my kids, also from her. Many things come from her. Things she may think I never noticed or paid attention to.
So that is it. The story of my mom, and her many roles. My mom, my super woman.
Some close ups
Thanks again for your help and reading my blabbering. This post got me all teary as I think how fast life has gone by. Now I sit here with my own children, at ages I remember being, like it was yesterday. God willing, before I know it, I will be stamping things for my own grandchildren. CRAZY!!!
Im am off to take Alexa to chemo. We have ONE MORE MONTH to go!! I can’t believe it. Thank you for the thoughts, prayer’s and well wishes for Alexa. It has made a huge difference in our lives.
Feel free to share a thought or memory you have of your own mom (or another important woman in your life) here.
Till tomorrow-

Lauren, Lauren, Lauren
as usual, you have ‘represented’… you have taken my “bella mantra” and brought it to life… no matter what you look like, no matter how you ‘feel’, you are represented by a Bella.. and that is exactly why I started this little company.
Thank YOU for putting my thoughts and feelings onto paper.
You are one awesome person
Em
Amazing!
WOW, that card is awesome!!! I love how you depicted every aspect of a mom. This is something that your mom will always treasure. Again, you totally amazed me!!!
Fabulous card – brilliant idea! I really like how personal it is. Love how it looks too.
Wow Lauren! Your card is beautiful and the feelings behind it will surely bring your mom to tears. (The happy kind!) I can’t think of a better tribute and I’ve never seen a prettier bella card.
My mom was a SAHM and did everything for me too! We used to bake and garden and she was always involved with girl scouts and the PTA. I wish she was still alive now to see me be a mom. She would have been a wonderful grandma. Remember it’s always a good time to tell your mom that you love her!
You have done it. What a great idea. I am sure your mother will love it as well as all of us do.
Such a great idea! And your post got me all teary-eyed too 🙂 I’m sure she will really appreciate this!

WOW, girl! You NEVER cease to amaze me with your creations…and THIS by FAR is the BEST BELLA card I’ve EVER laid my eyes on. Your mom will probably cry when she gets it. You are a special daughter and of course this card speaks a lot of you too because you wear all these hats as a mom.
Oh my goodness Lauren, what a wonderful card. I just love how you did it in a “timeline” format.
Well that really sums it up! Fantastic card and it is just perfect. Very creative!!!! 🙂

Lauren, I check your blog everyday, although I don’t comment often, but I think that is my favorite card that you’ve ever done. (And that is saying a lot). What a wonderful gift of love for your Mom. If I were she, I would frame it!

Michelle
For sure your Mom will cry when you give her this card as a tribute and recognition of all she means to you. The card is a work of art and your coloring brings the bellas to life and gives them such dimension. Healing thoughts to Alexa it must feel a blessing that the treatments are almost finished. Thanks for sharing this wonderful card and the sentiment that goes with it. Ann
Brilliant solution! And oh so true. I hope that Alexa is feeling well (as well as can be, at least). Happy days to you!

WO, what a fantastic card, what an awesome idea.
Well you out did yourself, my only question is what are you going to do for mother’s day? Not to add more problems, I just thought this card would have been perfect with the sentiment behind it. Well I know you will out do yourself with mother’s day.
Love the card.
WOW…I have goosebumps! This is THE Bella card…totally encompassing…and YOU are beautiful for bringing it to life. Your mom did an incredible job in making you into who you are, and no doubt, your children will benefit as well. This truly is brilliant, and your mom will treasure it.

Wow! That is just an amazing card!
Your entry today made me all teary-eyed too.
How absolutely sweet you included *every* aspect of a MOM. (I’ve got goose-bumples still). And your card… WOW! “Frame-able”, if you ask me! 🙂
Mother’s Day is always difficult for me. I lost my mom thirteen years ago and I still miss her desperately. I wish I could tell her now how much I really appreciate everything she did for us growing up from her endless love, the sacrifices she made, and all the little things inbetween.
My thoughts and prayers (along with tons of hugs) as our little Alexa goes through her (almost) last round of chemo. God bless!
Hugs, my friend! ♥
Only you would come up with this solution! Once again you have amazed me with your creativity and artistic approach. I can’t imagine your mom not absolutely loving this card. I know I would if I got it! Keep up the good work.
LOVE IT!!!
You do awesome on every project…but this one ROCKS!
I just surprised my mom for her 60th a couople weeks ago….where does the time go??? Me and my 3 littles ones drive for 6 hours to say SURPRISE! And what FUN it was!!! Miss her, wish we lived closer, no one is more important than mom!
Prayers are with you and alexa!
AWESOME solution! I don’t comment too much but this was a wonderful solution….make a card that encompasses all she is to you without limiting your own creativity. I really enjoyed reading this post.
Oh my goodness, I am in awe! This is just PERFECT for your Mom! Wow, what a GREAT idea! I love how you put it all together, and your coloring is superb! I just love this, and she is going to also. I know it will end up in a frame! It just has to!
My Mom passed away 28 years ago, when she was only 53. Cancer. I hate it. There are so many things I wish I had said, could tell her now that I’m older, but I was only 26 (by one day) and her illness made everything difficult. I didn’t know WHAT to do…
I am SO happy that you have your Mom, and that she has been such a positive influence in your life. You are very fortunate, and you know it! Give her a HUGE hug from all your cyber friends that also think she is TERRIFIC!!! 😀
So awesome! I mean really, really awesome! Yesterday I spent $$$ at PaperTrey because of you, and now I’m bouncing, waiting for my bella order to arrive! You’re no good for my checkbook, but I think you’re great! Thanks so much for all of the inspiration!
Hugs to Alexa (and Noah & Amber too!), and hugs to you as well!
Lauren~ I pray chemo goes ok for Alexa. That has to be so hard for her. And you! The card is SPECTACULAR. What an awesome idea! You mom will love it. How many Bellas do you own, girl? You are a genius, Lauren!:) ~Kris~
this is by far the cutest, sweetest and nicest card I have ever seen. I love the idea. I only have 2 little bellas in my collection (so I won’t be able to scrap lift it any time soon)… but it truly is fabulous idea.
Your mom will love it.
((((Praying for Alexa)))
I must say, this is my most favorite card that I have seen you make since I’ve been visiting your blog! I just love it and it’s just so perfect for Mother’s Day. You are so talented and I always look forward to checking out your blog every single day.
This.Card.Is.WONDERFUL.
This is a fantastic concept, and wonderful execution. I love the way you captured what it is to be a mom, and it is absolutely stunning.
JUST AMAZING! I’m in awe.
Awww LAUREN!!!! This is the BESTEST card EVER!!!!! Who cares if it’s LATE! As soon as she sees it and and sees THIS and reads everything you just said me thinks the lateness won’t matter anymore. WELL DONE! :o)
Totally amazing as usual. She will LOVE it, I am sure!!! You rock!
This must have taken you forever, but it’s FANTASTIC! I’m sure she will appreciate your effort and love it! Happy belated birthday to your mom!
Gosh…wait until i clear these tears…what a beautiful tribute to your mum. She’s obviously made a huge impression on you and your life…that’s wonderful. Your “work of heart” is absolutely amazing, I haven’t seen one like it anywhere. I’m sure your mum will treasure it. Thanks for sharing all this with us! bx

Holy Crow! What an AMAZING card!

Wow, Lauren!! This card brought tears to my eyes…what a fabulous idea!!
this is truly stunning. I only wish I had these stamps to make the same card for my mom as you just summed her up as well.

Great job, Lauren! Really. Gorgeous, meaningful…I think you’ve outdone yourself. I’m sure you’re mom will love it!
You’re right…you do have quite a Bella collection! 😉
What a great idea for a card. Mom’s do have so many hats to wear and what you did is an awesome way to showcase each and every role. My mom was the same way, never really took time for herself. She had 4 kids in 4 years so was very busy but still made sure she was there for each and every one of us and I am still grateful for the sacrifices she and my dad made to make sure we had the best childhood they could give us.
What a great idea!! I hope you are going to put all that you wrote as your description of each Bella in the card – I think she will just love the way you wrote it!
TFS!! (hmmmm….I might just have to CASE the idea with my own different Bellas!)
Bev
What a fabulous idea! Sooo cute! TFS!
Lauren, this is just fabulous. Your mom will love it.
What a wonderful creation–congratulations. I’m sure your mom will cherish it!
OMG Lauren …this is so many moms..great idea. your mom will love this. good luck on Alexa’s appt..

Carol
oh Lauren, the card is just PERFECT, and I know your mom will be so deeply touched. I hope you put everything you wrote in this blog in the card. What a sweetie you are!
I really need to come to your house and play with all your stamps! I’m anxiously awaiting my first Bella stamps and you have how many!?! LOL
Seriously though, your mom will flip over this card. I would, too. All the time and thought that went into planning all the stages of a woman’s life. Actually, if she’s like my mom, she’ll probably cry some as well.
An incredible amount of incredible colouring. This card is fantastic. I love all the different little windows. Joan
Another fantabulous idea. A beautiful card and so thoughtful. I’m sure your mother will be touched beyond measure. She won’t mind the wait at all. I’m also sure that you’ve become the person she always hoped you would be. Another reader suggested that it should be framed. I agree. You really did have a family of Bellas, they were just waiting for their debut. And what a debut it was! I hope Alexa’s chemo therapy session went well today, I will continue to keep her in y prayers. Enjoy the rest of your day, you should have a big smile on your face!
I love the concept. Each image totally rocks. 🙂
Absolutely LOVE IT!!! I will def be CASEing this idea just as soon as I get some more Bellas!!! Wonderful idea.
Who but you would have thought to put all the Bella’s together…and so perfectly. I can see the apple didn’t fall far from the tree…you mom must be so proud. Great job, Lauren!!
That’s an amazing card!!
What an amazing tribute to your Mother. It is such a fantastic idea and what a unique idea to summarize your Mother. She will be certainly be delighted to receive this.
What an awesome card, and a wonderful idea to showcase important moments/things from your mom’s life like that!♥
I’m sure she’ll love it, and even more the explanation behind each image! 😀
I hope she doesn’t move to Portugal! 🙁
My thoughts and prayers are with Alexa and you today, it’s wonderful that the end of this nightmare is close! 😀
I think you did pick the right Bella(S)…I just love this card! It IS what every Mother is/was at one time or another in her life!
Now, can I be your Mother too so I can get a Bella card just like that one. If I were your Mother I’d frame it and put it in my kitchen to remind me that all women are “WONDER WOMAN”
Wow Lauren what a fantastic card – so original I would never have thought of doing that. You are so awesome!! Lots of love, Denise in the UK
I’ve only been stamping and (blog surfing about stamping) for about a year, but this is THE BEST card I have EVER seen. Not only did you have a fantastic idea, but you executed so beautifully.
WOW! You are brilliant… inspiring… amazing! Love it!
I LOVE this, Lauren! What a great idea!
Great card Lauren! I absolutely love it!
Best wishes to Alexa:) Yeah, one more month!
My mom was a SAHM and did everything for my brother and I. She truly is my best friend! This card is a perfect card for all mothers. Thank you so much for sharing, you are wonderful!
Wow, just wow. That is a wonderful card and I’m sure she will love it.
Lauren, this card brought me smiles and a lot of tears. I have been missing my mother – she’s been gone come 9 years in November. She never had the opportunity to meet my daughter or my nephew, although she’s dreamt of being a Gramma. I just had lunch today with a friend who lost her father in October. We cried, ate, cried, cried, and cried through our stories – sharing our pains and memories. I took the afternoon off as I was emotionally spent. I am grateful for my friend for giving me this opportunity to share my mother, my story with her.
I had been thinking about Mother’s Day coming up and been thinking about her. I will be away from my soon to be 5 year old daughter for Mother’s Day for a weekender get away on the East Coast for my husband’s early birthday and anniversary present (we’re going to a Nascar race to one of his favourite tracks).
Happy Mother’s Day to you all – not just on May 11 but everyday that you are a mother! Enjoy creating a card for your mother and call her up – say “Hi Mom – I love you!”
I’ll always miss my mother, affectionately known as Gramma Bev to my daughter.
I got all teary eyed while looking at the card and your description for it! So cute!
This is such a wonderful idea. I’m so gonna have to copy it someday.
What a great idea! That idea can be used in so many other ways. Thanks again for sharing your amazing talents.
I make the mistake of thinking that you could never get any better than you already are. And Ta-dah! You prove me wrong.
This card is spectacular. Once again, you amaze me with your talent.
And then…you make me very jealous…owning so many Bellas. (green-I am) 😉
Absolutely stunning. I got teary reading about this card and thinking of my mom, and of being a mom myself now. Gorgeous, gorgeous. 🙂
Wow Lauren, that is such a wonderful idea and such a remarkable card to give to your Mom!!!
What a perfect card! Mom’s wear many, many hats and this says it all! I have always appreciated my mom, but since I’ve become a mom myself, I have a deeper appreciation and understanding of all she sacrificed and did (and continues to do) for me (and my kids). I’m sure she will LOVE this card 🙂
WOW!! Lauren this card is amazing!! I know you Mom will love it!!!! My Mom is one of my favorite people in the world! She is more than my best friend! I hope one day my kids will feel about me the way I feel about her and they will remeber all the good times, laughs, and hugs. Hopefully they wont remeber what I call my Linda Blair Mom moments. You know the moments where you walk into a room (with carpet) and there is this huge puddle of water that they soaked with the pots and pan from their play kitchen and are now jumping up and down in the puddle!!!
Like all of your creations Lauren…… WOW!!!! Your mom is going to *LOVE* this card. The Stamping Bella herself would be so honored by this card. TFS!!!
Wow. This card is absolutely fabulous. Great work!

Lauren, I have goosebumps! I absolutely love this card. I think it would also make a beautiful framed art piece so it can be seen all the time. Awesome, awesome. Thanks so much for sharing. I know my mom made many sacrifices when my sister and I were young and they have definitely paid off. I enjoy watching how she loves my children now. I hope she truly understands how much I love her. Okay, I’m going to cry now. LOL!

Your love and admiration for her touched my heart and I know that your card and words will touch her too. She will know how special she is and how much she means to you. Sadly I never had this kind of relationship with my mother but hope to have one with my beautiful little girl. It’s one of my hopes and dreams as we enjoy one another’s company. http://stampingbella.com/blog/?p=392
Outstanding! So creative and personal. I’m sure Mom will love it.
My goodness, what a beautiful card. Your mother will be pleasantly surprised!
Wow. This is awesome. Your mother is going to love it. So very special and so very true.
Awesome Lauren. Your mom is going to just love it. I sure know my mom would have. She was also my best friend and my confidant, but I got to enjoy that while growing up. She’s been gone almost 18yrs now, and that’s left a huge hole in my life. During our friendship she taught me how to craft, how to paint ceramics which I modified to stamping & watercoloring, she set me up on the blind date that I met my husband on, and although she never saw her first grandchild she bought everything that was needed to bring a baby home, wrapped it up, and gave it to Ken and I for Christmas the week before we were married. Mom lost her battle with breast cancer the following May, exactly one week after Mother’s Day. I sure wish mom could have gotten to know our additiction and most of all, my PSF’s and Miss Alexa. 🙂
That is one of the most amazing things I’ve seen – the card is wonderful!! Your Mom will love it so much! Thanks for sharing the card and your thoughts about it.
This is absolutely beautiful, you have an amazing eye. You’re a GREAT talent keep up the good work! Good luck on everything else. Life is hard, but beautiful things make it worth living.
Nia
Absolutely amazing, I so want to make something like that – I just have to get a couple more bellas first – he he he!

Your mom must be an amazing woman because your card and the symbolism behind the card shows that you are an amazing daughter, the apple never falls far from the tree. What a great way to let your mom know that you love her and that you do in fact remember all things no matter how big or small. Great card. Kudos to you.

My Mom is now gone and I do miss her awful, she raised 6 of us kids, and did an awesome job too! She was my best friend too, now that my daughter is 18, I see that same friend relationship happening with us too, so my mom taught me well! Do enjoy this time you have with your mom.

I missed checking my blogs for a few days and you have gone and started a revolution! 172 responses and it is not even blog candy!!! This card is great. If my mama was still around I would so case your idea. It is perfect, because moms are a little bit of everything. Beautiful card and even more beautiful is the sentiment behind it!
Absolutely fabulous card!!!
This card just blows me away. What a beautiful card and the sentiments are even more beautiful.

WOW WOW WOW! This is THE most incredible bella card EVAH!!!! I wish I had the relationship with my mom that you have with yours!
I LOVE how you used all of our ideas rolled into one card for your Mom. You are so lucky to have a Mom who is around to do all she does. My Mom died when I was 9 years old. She had a sudden stroke at age 36. I didn’t get to say good-bye. All of you out there who have mothers that are still living, PLEASE do something special with them or for them this coming Mother’s Day. You never know what the future holds.
Fabulous card and what a blessing it is to have such a great relationship with your mom!
WOW! What a beautiful card and a beautiful story. I, too, have been blessed by a mother who always put her children first and did everything for us. Moms are the best!!
