Happy Birthday Papertrey Ink!

WOOT! WOOT!

I am so excited for the fun that will be going on atPapertrey Ink for the anniversary!

It really all starts today, then goes up to the release.

Today Nichole asked ALL the team members to make a card with thier favorite Papertrey Ink set of all time. Now the BEST part-leave me a comment and YOU can have a chance to win!

Jennifer will be choosing a winner so the comments close MIDNIGHT-12am Pacific time.

You can say whatever you like, but I personally would love to know what My Timeless Template © has been YOUR favorite (OH! BOY! Wait until what you see we have this month-and hold on to your adhesive because next month will blow you away! LOL! My best template yet), and what Papertrey Ink stamp set (if you can pick ONE!) is your favorite.

Let me say that was NO easy task for me!

So I decided that I would use my MOST loved set-Beautiful Blooms

My recent favorite color combo is Raspberry Fizz, and Ripe Avocado. I’m just in heaven.

bday-card-details-close.png

This is a close up view of my card.

I die cut a Label 1 from Raspberry Fizz, then die cut a circle from the center. I then “faux stitched” around it, to make my frame!

I love this set. I especially adore its co-ordination with the Cuttlebug Flower #1 dies.

I love the dimension this all has.

bday-card-blooms-details.png

The leaf image is just gorgeous too. My set is BLACK from all the use! LOL! It is my “go to” set. We all have one I believe.

I also had to add a butterfly in there too! LOL! I *almost* picked the With Sympathy set, but its new, and hasn’t had as much love-YET! But I did use the butterfly from it.

My sentiment is from Garden of Life

I just love this card 😀

Now I need to list a few more favorites 😀 (I have like all the sets but these are tops for me)

He’ll make a box to put it in! Or at least I would! LOL!

Did you ever read that book? “If you give a mouse a cookie”

That is what this next image reminded me of!

    mouse-cookie-box-top-view-lauren.jpg

    Cookie Box top view

Keep in mind I HATE mice and rodent! But he was cute. So I accepted him into my stamp room.

I designed this cute little box. . The way it folds together is really cool! I’ll share that very soon!! I was proud that I could do this with a heavy, groggy head.

It uses a stamp  from a set by Cookie Crumbs (aka Diane Zechman) called Cookie Jar, and Cookie Jar-gon (not that is a pretty  darn clever name!). It is due to release through All That Scraps, on Monday the 2nd. Be sure to enter to win this set—>HERE!as well as check out the DT samples!

I think the set is cute, but that mouse and cookie jar were the images that grabbed me most. Now I can torture you with what has tortured me since making it-

Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?

(Insert name) stole the cookies from the cookie jar!

    Who me?!

    Yes you!

    Couldn’t be!

    Then who?

    When who?

    Now repeat 100 times!

    Front view

    gice-a-mouse-a-cookie-front-box-lauren.jpg

The box is a flap open/hinge  style box

Its great because you can use 2 colors of cardstock or patterned paper.

That holds a tin of 5 cookies 😀 Like a cupcake box, only it is holding a tin instead. I have been asked NUMEROUS times to create a “cupcake” box, and so I have done something similar-finally! No worries I’ll share the how-to’s soon!!

    Here is the side view-

    mouse-cookie-box-front-side-lauren.jpg

Its a great size box too! Im over the moon with it.

I cut out a circle in the top so you can see the tin. I didn’t put acetate over the window because of photographing (didn’t want a GLARE), and the cookies are protected in the tin inside.

    Here is the open view

    give-a-mouse-a-cookie-box-inside-lauren.jpg

Sorry I didn’t get all fancy decorating my tin. I had all I could do to make the box and still be standing :C But you get the idea.

    So that is that!

Now I’m going to move onto the sketch and wrap up this post

    mytimess22

    mytimess22.png

Here is the sketch. I loved the sketch but had a hard time coming up with anything :C

I had to get a baby card in the mail so I created this

    Baby Makes Three

    kanga-choice.png

    EEK! Bad lighting-sorry

I love this image from Stampavie called Jump into my pouch! You can also find that HERE!

I think its just so sweet, and perfect for a baby card! Especially for a mom of more than one “roo” I find that finding images for the celebration of additional “additions” can be challenging. So I was “bouncin” (sorry had to do it) over this one.

I was inspired by my ribbon for my color scheme. Seemed to be very gender neutral.

I colored with my copic markers, and sponged my sky and sun. I used prima’s and decorated them like the flowers in the image.

This sentiment from Papertrey Ink Bitty Baby Blessings, paired with Around and About sentiments.

One of my friends is due to have her 3rd baby soon, so I thought it was cute to have the Kangaroo and her three little babies in her pouch.

How cute are these little roo’s

    kanga-pouch.png

I love the middle one – upside down! Cute little feet. That is the cutest thing about new babies!! There tiny toes.

Well I’m done for today! Tomorrow I have a special Papertrey Ink Post to kick off the anniversary countdown! You WON’T want to miss it 😀

In the meantime-I hope YOU get to try the sketch, and get a chance to see what the sketch team got done.

On a happy note-I think I will have 2 videos to share this week! YEAH!!! You really will want to see those-trust me, my projects will have you papercrafting ALL day long 😀

    Thanks for stopping by 😀

    OK that enough of me—>later

    Get Well Wishes

Jan 30, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

    OK this is UBER quick!

Looks like my “cold” took a nasty turn. I have a nice little fever going, and found out Im battling a double ear infection, so I need to lay down. All of the sudden I started with horrible stabbing pain in my ears. Gotta love it. This is only my 2nd ear infection in my life, so I feel fortunate for that. Good news is the kids are getting better and are on the mend.

Tomorrow I will get to rest since Jay will be home-thank goodness 😀 I just pray my brothers girlfriend doesn’t go into labor YET! Not till Im better 😀 I can’t be near a new baby, let alone IN the delivery room when I am sick!

I made this last night-in attempt to help with the release peeks. Mojo isn’t happy or working when I feel so lousy. I have TRIED for days to get creative buy my ickiness isn’t allowing any creativity to flow.

I had to use this image though from AmyR’s set Warm & Cozy-since I could use a comfy robe and some tea 😀

The set is due for release Monday Feb 2nd.

     get-well-robe.png

You can see peeks of it from the ATS Design Team HERE

I colored the robe, then doodled on the flower/leaf pattern to match my Making Memories paper.

Just a simple card-to give you a peek.

I do have a cute peek for tomorrow and its the Saturday Sketch.

I can tell you it WILL be late. I need to rest.

    Thanks for checkin in

    Pretty in Pink

Jan 29, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

    Well I’m back.

Not back to health, just back.

The kids have appointments today, so we will see how they all are health wise.

Thanks for all the healing wishes. I didn’t expect anyone to miss us. I appreciate all the warm thoughts and comments.

To all you “crazies” who said to put Vapor Rub on their feet with socks-THANK YOU! It actually worked! I thought you all sounded a little nutty-but where were you last week through 5 sleepless nights of endless persistent coughing? Thank goodness you all told me about that. I was desperate and would have tried anything. It actually worked. I couldn’t believe till I saw it for myself.

Well I did TRY to get creative yesterday, after the kids made their Valentines Day cards, but it just wasn’t working. I can’t create when I’m sick.

Thankfully I have plenty of stuff from when my mojo wasn’t on sick leave 😀

    mascarade.jpg

    The Mascaraed

I love this image from Leere Aldrich-Party Girl.

She looks like she is having quite the celebration! I think she’d make a great image for a big birthday-or surprise party.

I had to pair her with some new PP I got at Michaels from Making Memories. I was really excited to find some new paper that I really liked. The argyle pattern just suits this image so well.

I decided I would add lots of sparkle to her (sadly not picked up in my photo :C), and her dress bow, is 3D.

The flowers are Sprite Prima’s that I layered to match.

I think Pink & Black are so elegant. She was fun to color. I love the Champagne! I added some clear gel pen on it to look like glass.

    Just a fun party card.

I decided to make another card using the same colors/paper pack, since I had fun with this one.

    Accessorize!

    accessorize-poodle.jpg

This cute little poodle image is from Sentiments A.

I think its adorable all on its own! I love using smaller images as a focus.

I added some texture with my velvet flower, and printed Prima. I just love the poodle peeking out of the bag. Poodles, pink & black remind me of Paris. Not sure why-they just do. Very chic 😀

I drew on my lines of my handbag. Just a quick doodle for more interest. I little pearl in the bag center.

I inked only the accessorize word in the sentiment stamp since I didn’t need it, in its entirety. I like being able to have that versatility, and given that the stamps are clear made is easy!

OK Not too much more to say since I’m tired and heading out to the doctors with the kids-but at least I got something posted for you!!

Thanks for checking in with me 😀

    Enjoy your day-

    A challenge from Pink Cat

Jan 27, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

    No eye candy today

OK this is late in the day, but Im lucky to even squeeze this in. Not to bore you with the details but its been a while (thankfully) since my house has been THIS crazy.

    I have 3 sick kids-

Alexa -JUNKY icky cough. Disgusting nose. She is doing good though, so Im crossing my fingers for her.

Noah-Croup as of 2 am. I hate croup. Its very scary, and just plain rotten

Amber-Poor Amber. She has gotten sick a lot this school year. Bronchitis and a double ear infection. At the doctors till 9pm last night!!!!!!Nasty harsh persistent coough that won’t quit and has kep ME up since Friday, and random hgh fevers :C No meds are helping.

She is VERY good when she is sick. Just wants cuddling

Me-exhausted, stressed, sore throat, headache, and body aches.

    BLAH!

Oh did I mention all the snow heading our way tomorrow?

All I need is ONE night of sleep, and I’ll be refreshed.

    I hope!

OK so I need to post the challenge posted in the Pink Cat Studio forums

so here you go! LOVE Challenge!

Looks fun. I hope I get to give it a try one day soon.

Sorry to be a downer-I’m wiped.

I will say NOT getting to stamp has put my brain in oeverdrive and I have lots of ideas brewing in my head now 😀

OK now I need to get back to the family.

    Have fun with the challenge

    My Copic Coloring Tutorial Video’s

Jan 26, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, MYTIME MOVIE/VIDEOs, Tutorials

OK! Kurtis is a genius! He fixed me up-so now everyone should be able to see the tutorials from Veoh on my site!

Let me know what you think! Especially those from other countries, unable to view others.

I’m going to embed the other videos, into my older posts.

    Part one

    [veoh v173265089DCzTwe7 ]

     Part two

    [veoh v17326532NzewxWm7 ]

Be sure to read the post below for information, and the completed card project!

    Thanks again!

Quite honestly this video has got to be the MOST intimidating thing I have had to do-to date!

That, and the fact I considered (for a very brief moment) sharing a video of me in my “before” jeans and “after” jeans! LOL! To hopefully motivate you all some  more. That will not be happening! LOL! Just like a commercial-I could so be on with my clothing-too funny. The good thing is bathing suit shopping won’t be pure torture this year. I just can’t stand spending $40 on a suit. They are insanely pricey.

    OK back to the subject.

So for today’s video’s I did the much asked for Copic Coloring Tutorial.

I am not a coloring expert. Nor do I claim to be. I honestly don’t even feel qualified, but you all wanted to see how I color, and some asked about making my scenery-so its my “job” to share it all with you! LOL! So be gentle! I do hope you gain something from it-even if its pure amusement.

This is the finished image I have colored to create my sample here

I used my Saturday Sketch #21-mytimess21

    copic-lily-full.png

    Now for the videos:

EDITING TO ADD! My videos are ON my site in  the post above!

    HERE!

Kurtis DID enable them so we are all set, from here on out!

The rest of my babble below was my frustration with the video situation, but now its all smooth sailing!

    —————————————————————–

GOOD NEWS!! My plug-ins will be enabled soon. I tried to do it myself, and only got a black box to work. That is huge progress. What that means is in the future you can ALL watch it here, on my blog-without going to Veoh! Just like the YouTube one’s I am able to feature.

Again I did post on Veoh. There are MANY reasons I like Veoh more.

Easy to upload, better video quality. No time restrictions, and the list goes on.  I tried to do 2 parts so that I could post to YouTube. Obviously-of course, I went over! After MUCH editing too! So Im no longer breaking it up into segments, after this. Im uploading to ONE place, ONE video. It is too much more of my time to try to keep editing down, and then to split it up, save and load 2 or three segments. Stresses me out just reliving it in blog land! LOL!  This is the part of the process that causes me the most duress-TIME! So I’m done with it.

I offer these videos for a fresh approach, and something fun. I won’t want to do them if I have to keep doing so much just to keep everyone happy. (Not that I dont want you to be happy )

I know YouTube is more “popular” but I don’t need to be popular, or use the most popular place. I want to use what site can best accommodate me, and right now that isn’t YouTube. I’m actually in PURE awe at the girls who can whip up an under 10 video. My personality and chatty nature just can’t handle it-sadly. I’m a talker, and a visual person. so I feel its all relevant

We are women-Its impossible for us to ALL be happy ALL the time! LOL!

I apologize if you cannot view it where you are from :C I do not know how you could view it otherwise. Once my plugin gets working everyone should be able to view it right here, no matter what Country you are from-so YEAH! Let’s cross our fingers shall we.

    Now onto the details:

What better image to use than my Dress Up Lily Amber set from Pink Cat Studio? (remember you can personalize those! So I got Amber stamps!!) In this video I show you step by step (OK so severely edited steps in some parts) how to get Lily colored, and in this scenery!

    copic-lily-choice.jpg

She is so cute, I think.

My colors are Sweet Blush, Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado, white, and some paper I got at Target a year ago! LOL!

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink- Mailbox Greetings. That set has some rockin sentiments.

OK I hope you enjoy the video’s. You know I love hearing your thoughts on them. I think I improve a little each time.

Please don’t be harsh in judgement on my coloring-since I seriously have no claim to be a “professional”. Just a regular, self taught stamper, trying to show you some of what I do while playing around 😀

Thats the best way to learn-hands on.

OK I do enough blabbering in the video’s, so I’ll hush up now.

OK I need a nap. I have been up all weekend with the kids being sick so I need to take advantage of the quiet. I’m wiped out.

    Enjoy!

And as always thanks for stopping by with a hello,  the kind words and support 😀

    Oh, and thanks for watching.

PS Yes I know I look exhausted in the video too-I was.

    Birthday Card Box Winner

Scroll down for my post today.

Sorry this is late! Amber has been sick, and I spent the day with my family.

Here is the winner of the Card Organizer.

If you are wondering I have a random computer generated number get picked from

So that means the winner is:

    Debbie |

Bad day is almost over and tomorrow will be better! I was just wondering how much weight you had lost by now. I started dieting and exercising last week and feel better already. I only hope I can hang in there like you are doing. I’d love to lose 55 lbs! I have been doing the Wii Fit and having fun doing it ;-) We all love you!

    ——————————————————

Thank you so much for all taking the time to make my day and lift my spirits 😀

Debbie-send me your address so I can mail this baby out tomorrow!

    Loves me, Loves me not….

Jan 25, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

You know it has to end with Loves me right?!

Well its Sunday and I am preparing to record my next video. I really am having fun-minus editing! LOL! If I got this down I’d do one everyday! 😀 That may get old though, and Im sure you’d get sick of it. So no worries there. Plus its very time consuming. I so appreciate the feedback though-so thank you again. You are all helping me improve by leaps and bounds with your suggestions.

I also have to get ahead on some projects that are due because my brothers baby is due any time now and i am going to be IN the delivery room. I can’t even wait. I’ve been baby shopping like crazy!! I already bought some mini frames to that once she is named I can make a frame for each letter of her name, and plan on using the Rachelle Anne Miller Spring line of animals with each letter! OMG! Wait till you see them and my finished project! I don’t have anything in INK yet, since they have wavered on her name. I know what that is like because Amber was going to be Rebecca. I didn’t really settle on that name since I also loved Brielle, and Lily (now our cats name! LOL!) so I’m impatiently waiting 😀

Anyway-I want to share anotherJustRite Stampers project since you have now SEEN how easy they are to work with.  I also wanted to tell you what I REALLY think you need to use your alpha’s successfully, since I didn’t get what I should have (IMO) the first time.

If you get any alpha sets you should get the Harmony Classic Rectangle block set. 2 blocks come in the set. This will let you spell out lots of great stuff, without be made to use JUST a circle/oval block. After that important purchase, the rest is deciding what fonts you want! LOL!

So upon starring at my wall of Prima’s I decided that I should use them in a card.

    This was my thought:

    loves-me-loves-me-not.jpg

In Ruby Red, Dark Chocolate, and Ripe Avocado-with a May Arts olive ribbon.

I always loved the sentiment : Loves Me, Loves Me not, Loves Me.

I don’t have ANY stamps that say that, so I made my own using the New Times Roman upper/lowercase font. I’m so happy they are offering a upper/lower combo now. I enjoy making my own sentiments. I also like how they layer into the grooved blocks so I get PERFECT alignment and spacing.

OK back to the card-a close up

I knew I wanted a Prima next to each sentiment-so I staggered my wording.

    loves-me-close-up.jpg

I stamped Loves me not first, then removed the “not” and stamped my Loves Me.

When cutting my Prima petals, its suppose to be like the same flower-so the first one had one petal cut.

The second one I cut 2 petals. Upon doing that I saw that they could look just like a heart!

So for my last sentiment-it is suppose to be like the 2 petals above, layered together to form a heart-Loves Me.

    Isn’t that pretty?

    I had fun with it.

For my Prima’s I just layered 2 punched paper flowers, sponged for my centers, and a little blign rhinestone.

Finished with a light color spritzing and was DONE!

So that’s it! Quick post today.

I hope you like this and it sparks some ideas for you as well.

    Thanks for reading.
