Special Delivery x3

trio-of-ts.jpg

I hope you are having a great day. I spent yesterday making baby cards!

WHAT?! You may be wondering……………..

I guess you could say I have babies on the brain. NO I’m not having baby fever-but EVERYONE else is.

Just about every couple Jay and I know is popping one out-LOL!

Some are over-due as we speak, and their bundle’s of love should be arriving SOON-like today!

Its so weird because I am SO past that stage in our lives. I feel like everyone is playing catch up. It’s good for us though. We have alot going on, and my children are at a point where I can do the things “I” want to do, for myself-OK that sounded wicked selfish, but not intended that way. Let’s face it, we all need some ” my time” for mommy fun.

ANYWAY-

I never have ANY baby cards on hand, and wanted to make some special one’s for those time’s I am in a CRUNCH-but you really should have a card.

I like to keep my baby cards soft, sweet and SIMPLE.

So I created 3 of the same today. I hope you like them, and gain some inspiration from them.

I used my favorite baby pieces if inspiration. It basically came from my friend Erin, who was being induced yesterday (Wed at 7:30 pm) saying-I think I have everything except 0-3 and 3-6 month onsie’s.

I could NOT believe my ears! No ONESIE’s? WHAT? That is a very important piece of  a baby wardrobe.

So, sort of as a “joke”, since I went on a spiel about onesie’s and their importance, I figured it would be cute to make her a card for their baby-SHAPED like a onesie.

Wait till you see the way I package the onesie’s I am bringing to the hospital!!! If it works the way I hope-its a MUST do for ANY new baby. Cross your finger’s as I am on a mission today to package them, and will share them asap.

Now the other thing I used, that is a favorite for me, is a Stork!

See that stork image in the onesie? Its from the New! All Occasion set by LAD called Petite Phrases.

I LOVE storks! They are so cute!!! They are also great for adoption cards and what not. Or just a pregnancy congrats. Love them

For my cards I wanted a SOFT look-so I stamped with Sahara Sand ink, then colored with markers. The Stork on the girl onesie is the only one with glitter on the stork.

Its a Girl

baby-girl-tee.jpg She is suppose to have a girl-so this *may* be the one she receives.

Its a Boy

baby-boy-special-delivery.jpg

and……….Its a ?

baby-gender-neutral-tee.jpg This one is perfect for any sex baby.

So what do you think? Cute? I was very pleased with the outcome.

I made it basically from SU! punches! I sorta just figured it out, and they only took 15 minutes to design and create 3! Now that is cool.

TUTORIAL CAN BE FOUND———–> HERE

The fold is at the top.

the head opening and legs are done using 1 3/8 circle punch 😀

I also used my SU! Scallop punch for the “trim”. I would first punch my 1/2 circle then punch out the scallop border.

My Scor-Pal made the lie at the bottom where the “snaps” are. Otherwise know as Making Memories button brads 😀

DONE! Simple Simon.

Speaking of babies…………..

My babies-

Alexa-icky nose, taking a huge amount of antibiotics, and still recovering from roid-rage, but all is well. She really doesn’t complain-as long as she gets her way. She has this “attitude” that KILLS me lately. I don’t think I had that attitude at her age. But I guess she is entitled.

Noah-he is great. A very good little boy. He has learned how to take Daisy out to do her duty, and enjoys helping with her care the most. He plays with her alot though-out the day.

Amber-she is also great. Nothing new to report. Loves school and is quite the little singer these days. Maybe she will be the future American Idol! LOL!

Daisy- she is going to the vet 8:30 am to get fixed :C Poor baby.

My hubby-we are praying we get a sitter soon! We haven’t had a date in forever :C We are pretty stressed. Excited LOST starts tonight!!! YEAH!

I appreciate all the well wishes.

That’s it for me for today.

I’m off and running.

I’ll check in later.

Boy oh Boy! Its an Alien Encounter-

Jan 30, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

mytime-alien-encounter-1.jpg

How cute is this?

Where was this set when I was having Noah’s birthday at our area Space Center? Seriously.

I don’t know about you, but I love it! The alien is peeking through the acetate star layer 😀

I love stars-I love glitter-I love successful boy themed cards-I love polka dots- I love window cards-I love die cuts-I love clean, layered, and finely detail-I love this.

You can never have too much love, or enough boy sets. There just isn’t a big market of them out there. So when you find one, you have to have it 😀

To say this set is  Out of This World (hehehehe) is an understatement.

When I previewed all the sets I was giddy. This set was a top priority, must have,  but I never would have thought it would get broken in BEFORE my Once Upon a Time set! (insert shocked face here)

I usually have a hard time with guy cards, but the LAD sets really get the ideas flowin.

Here is a view of it from the side-

mytime-close-up-alien-encounter.jpg

There he is, waving HI!

The stars were done using my Cuttlebug star, and the glitter stars are glitter cardstock by DCWV.

The ribbon is American Crafts.

Not much else to say. As I type it is late here. I can pre-post, so that is a huge help when I get the time to do it. Been a LONG day.

I would LOVE to hear what Lizzie Anne set has you in a tailspin!

I’m off and running-Daisy is getting fixed tomorrow :C Poor baby.

Till tomorrow.

PS I think this is the shortest blog post I have ever written 😀

Jar of Sweets

Jan 29, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

mytime-jar-of-sweets.jpg

I really hope that you can see by the photo that the card is a folded piece of acetate. Rounded corner’s.

This is suppose to look like  a”jar” of sweets!

I combined 2 sets-Be Mine by MFT, and the love scoop by Stamping Bella for this one.

They are the perfect pair.

The inner layer is adhered at the top (aka jar lid), and it opens under the lid-OK that part sounds confusing-but its not really LOL! So, it is clean with no adhesive marks. Can you believe I dusted off my PAPER CRIMPER!!!! Holy ancient craft tool!

I just stuck a regular old Avery Label on the front for a “candy label”

I did somebasic masking for this. It allowed me to stamp alot of the candy hearts, and make it look like they are stacked up in the jar.

The scoop was cut out. It is up on dimensionals for this, so its resting on the candy pile. There are some little heart bling stickers put on the scoop as well.

How cute eh?

OK that’s it for me today-sorry this is late, but ya know life happens, and my day was insane. I have so much to do, so little time.

Alexa has a double ear infection, sinus infection and conjunctivitis. BLECH!!!

OK I need to run-enjoy the “eye candy”!

Till tomorrow.

Loving Thoughts

Jan 28, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

My friend Bonnie, has a brother-in-law, who is going through a difficult Cancer diagnosis.

I was asked to make a card for his wife. This is such a hard time for her right now.

These types of cards are always hard for me, for several reasons………

1) Who really wants to make a card for a sad occasion?

2) You need to be careful with what you choose for images, and colors, as well as verses.

3) Its especially hard when you don’t know someone

4) Then comes the writing inside-

Given all the reasons why this type of card is hard it helps me make it though knowing it may make a difference, and that makes it all worth it. Even if you pick the wrong colors, don’t have the perfect words, the receiver will see the time spent to make them a special card, and all will be forgiven-right?

Anyway, so given it was for the couple, I chose to make this card

mytime-loving-thoughts.jpg Loving Thoughts

I personally think I know what NOT to say in a card when going through a Cancer diagnosis. I also know it means a lot just to be thought of, so I hope this covers my bases.

I decided to use Out on a Limb. It is simply said, a GORGEOUS set. The verses are so pretty, and the font sweet, clean and that simple elegance I needed.

I used warm colors-Guava with some gold. Like a sunny paper hug.

Main layer is embossed with my rectangle nestability.

I punched a vellum dove-to add a soft touch to the card. I was happy with the overall simplicity, color , verse and balance of this card.

I pray everything works out for them.

Do you have an ole standby set for cards like this or sympathy? I would love to hear it.

Or, maybe you have a favorite verse/sentiment you use?

I also love an old SU! set-cannot remember the name-I think its called Brighter Tomorrow. Great verses in that one.

I love “Whatever happens God is there to keep you safe within his care”

There are a few other’s in the set as well. I also LOVE Close as a Memory also by Stampin UP!

I think I have some CTMH stuff as well. Need to check. Hopefully I don’t ever have to dust them off!

OK I’m off and inking.

Till tomorrow.

Oh come and dance with me,

Jan 27, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

my baby. Let’s dance till we go crazy. The night is young and so are we…….

I have that song stuck in my head. I am listening to it right now as I type. Its a “oldie” dance song, and I love working out to it. That is actually how my next idea came to fruition. I made this a few days ago, and am finally going to share it.

Upon looking at my iPod, I had yet another light-bulb moment for a card-so my work out came to a dead stop-so I could make a replica of my iPod for you 😀

I LOVE making shaped cards. LOVE it.

mytime-rockin-ipodabella.jpg iPod a Bella

Card is 6 X 4 1/4.

Now wasn’t this worth stopping a work out for?

I made it to look just like my own ipod-which is obviously pink and white. I took different sentiments from the Things Hanna Would Say set, that I thought could look like a song title, and stamped them in the “screen” in gray. I put the “song selected” in black-the highlighted the sentiment with 2 heart shaped adhesive rrhinestone stickers. CUTE!!!

I made this so all side are clean looking-you won’t see the silver cord (my earphones wire) taped anywhere. Its all neatly sandwiched together. It HAS to be neat! So lots of different punches. I was quite happy with how it turned out.

I had no idea WHAT to do for the buttons so I used the X’s and O’s rub-on’s I had. I thought it was cute.

That pink cardstock is byBazzill Bling-strawberry daiquiri

I usually get my best ideas while I exercise or clean the house. Go figure.

Now if I can keep working out, and not stopping to create cards, then yes I WILL have my Bella Butt! Ya know what, if I get it (the bella butt) Im totally taking a photo of me-posed JUST like her! LOL! It will be my new photo! If your butt looks like that then you should show it off 😀 HAHAHAHA

OK I don’t know why everytime I create with these new Bella’s it gets me all into what my butt looks like, it just does.

Well I hope you like it. It was  super fun to make. I have so much more to share, but so little time.

I’ll be back tomorrow.

I’d love to hear a song that gets YOU dancing! So leave me a comment-maybe I can add ot my play-list while I workout! You know how sometimes you want to download a song, but then you can’t remember what it was till you hear it again on the radio, and then you try to remember, but forget AGAIN! That happens to me ALL the time. So if you drop a comment I can check it out, and upload it 😀

THANKS!

Till then.

We interrupt the Saturday Sketch……….

Jan 26, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Tutorials

for a ROCKIN do-it-yourself tutorial!

WOW! After I posted my goody package, from my Secret Friend, I received over 200 emails, asking about WHERE you can buy that pkg, of full glitter Prima’s.

Well, considering I have NO IDEA “who” sent it to me I couldn’t answer that question. I myself had never seen a pack like that. There was an obvious NEED for people to have these immediately!

Ask and you shall receive 😀

SOLUTION!!! Make them yourself!

Now I KNOW the possibilities for this are ENDLESS! Think of all the UGLY color Prima’s you have, that came in the bottle with the colors you love! LOL!

Now think-punched flowers as well!

Any shape-any size-you name it! You can now GLITTERFY it! (That is a Lauren word so not correcting me OK!) You ahve the color of glitter, then you can have a Prima or other option in that exact color.

Here is what you need-

supplies-for-prima.jpg

Decoupage glue-with brush * Glitter * item to be glitterfied * tweezer’s-it gets messy!

Brush glue onto object-like so

glue-on-flower.jpg

Dip item into glitter

prima-in-glitter.jpg

Tap off excess, let dry.

Add to card, ot project of choice.

The glue really holds the glitter on there NO PROBLEM! You can even “sculpt” your Prima to dry in whatever position you want, because when it dries it hardens right up.

Here is a sample using the flower I made.

mytime-glitter-prima.jpg Cherish everything

Flower-Fun to Be Floral

Leaf-In the Treetop

Sentiment-Say it in Script (LOVE THIS SET)

Kept this very clean and simple, as to show you the impact of the glitter flower!

I just used my Matt Pack and pierced a border for added interest! It takes a simple, single layer card from an Oh, to an OOOHHHH!!!  AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! LOL!

Hope you like my mini tutorial! It was alot of fun, and very easy to do!

Till tomorrow.

Saturday Sketch-You made my day-and a story

Jan 26, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

makemydayawardsmall_45b15d_thumbnail.jpg

What an honor to make someone’s day. I was so happy to receive this badge. I pass this along to all of you-who I have come to know and become friends with. I am awful about tagging people.

People who comment, leave funny stories and send me emails. All of you who just stop by or have followed my life, in any way, you all make my day-everyday!

My inbox gets flooded often but I read EVERY blog comment, and email I get! Each one truly makes MY day!!! I know, I said that already, but I mean it.

On another note-I have tag’s I have yet to do, and people who have sent me these cute little things to post, that  I made their day in same way (THANK YOU!!!). Now I can’t find who else has now, because of a flood of emails and whatnot but Melanie sent me this yesterday! I was determined it WOULD get posted!

Thanks Melanie.

Isn’t that so sweet of her?

That reminded me that I had her super-duper adorable set Just So Hippy, that has NOT seen ink!

Now you have to know I LOVE giraffes! Part of the fun (for me) naming Noah-Noah was the Noah’s ark theme 😀 He will hate me someday I’m sure. You an’t name your kid Noah, and NOT go with a Noah’s ark theme! Its like naming your daughter Summer and she is born in the dead of winter-you just can’t do it 😀

The day I found out I was pregnant I had seen this little giraffe by GUND. I knew I wanted it if I were having a boy. Once we had our ultrasound, and all was well, my friend Melissa bought Raffee for Noah. We had already picked this name about 3 hours after finding out I was pregnant! So it was good it was a boy!

Since birth he has slept with that giraffe. I brought him to the hospital with me.

Here is one of my favorite photos of Noah with him.

He is 11 months old here. See how he looks at him? PRECIOUS!

 noah-loves-raffee.jpg

He would hold him by the neck, and crawl/walk around the house. Where Noah went, Raffee went.

He would often look at him-like in this photo, then hug and kiss him. It was adorable! He loved him to pieces. Now he is tattered, and worn. He has that well-loved look to him.

He still has Raffee and sleeps with him every night.

I have a keepsake frame box ready for the day Noah is ready to part ways with him. I will save him to have when he has his first baby. OK Now Im getting all sappy over this, so let’s move on shall we?

My point is that when I saw this set it reminded me of Raffee!

So I had to get it.

I figured in thanks to Melanie, I should use the set SHE designed, and share my story as to why I always say “awe” every-time I see a giraffe.

It also made a great sketch 😀 Simple-but great.

sketch-32.JPG click to enlarge

Here is my first card using the set.

mytime-raffe-love.jpg Raffee Love

How supah cute is that giraffe?

I colored it using my copic’s, and put fun flock on the spots.

I used the For Peep’s Sake collection as my inspiration. I just love it.

Here is another-

mytime-flutter-thanks.jpg Flutter thank you

The point of making a second is to show you, you can basically take the long image and put it on either side! Whatever suits your fancy.

In place of a circle, is this butterfly I made it using Fantasy Film-in a pink tone. The butterfly is from a Stampin Up! set-one of my fave’s -Touch of Nature. The flower’s are another favorite-Stem Shilouette’s.

When I got a smaple of this Cherie paper by SEI, I fell in LOVE! Hello pink & brown (my favorite combo) GLITTER with flowers and butterflies! It’s a little piece of paper heaven!

So I used my markers and colored the bloom, then added some stickles. The thank you-is a rub on my Making Memories.

The 2nd butterfly is punched with a Martha Stewart punch, and shows the back pattern of the paper.

Overall clean and simple.

I would love for you to try this weeks sketch! Send on over a link-so we can all see what you do.

Thanks for reading and playing along 😀

Blogger’s Challenge-double duty!

Jan 25, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: blogger challenge, Cards

Well I had not done my blog challenge yet, when a surprise friend package arrived on my door!

yummies.jpg

I was absolutely giddy at the assortment of things that came in that box, that I shocking did not own! I don’t know “WHO” my secret friend is yet-but a HUGE thank you for the amazing and thoughtful assortment of YUMMIES!!!

In the box was a Gel-A-Tins Coffee set! Everyone know’s how much I LOVE coffee stuff.

A super adorable altered mailbox filled with CHOCOLATE!!!

GORGEOUS Prima Glitterfied flowers-NEVER seen these! A bag of Prima’s-prettiest assortment ever, and another purple pkg too!

Some loop brads, way cool bolt like eyelets, 2 pks Making Memories paper, Martha Stewart notecards-LOVE EM, Martha and other asst ribbon, some adhesive pearls and bling I don’t have, cinnamon stickles, pkg of K& co glitter-brads, and rhinestones-and a sakura gel pen!

WOW! Who ever you are-thank you SOOOOO much.

That being said I made a card for my “person” using the new goodies, to send when I find out who it is.

So this Blogger’s Challenge came JUST in time.

So that is why you have “double duty”. I am partaking in the blog challenge by making a card that I NEED to get done! Can you believe this will actually go postal soon? MIRACLES can happen 😀

The challenge was to make a card using the baby card layout on page 141 of the Stampin’Up! Catalog.

My card is 4 1/4 X 6 1/4. I had a blast making this one.

mytime-coffee-blog-challenge.jpg Coffee, tea, and friends….

Here is my attempt at the layout. I did change it up a bit, but I like my version better! LOL! I fell in LOVE with the colors of the paper! Perfect for a cheery cup of joe-thank you!

This uses the following goodies from my pkg-the Coffee Break stamp set, Making Memories patterned paper, gorgeous Fantasy Prima’s, andcinnamon stickles.

The tag-is the SU! Keytag punch. It was a perfect accent for my sentiment.

So there you have it!!!

Huge thanks again-to my friend.

Stay tuned because Sat. is my sketch! Hope you can play along 😀

Setting up a playdate! The fun way.

Jan 24, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Noah has been at me to get to setting up a play date with 2 boys in his class. NOT at the same time-Mommy can only handle so much at once.

He said “Mom you gotta make me something to give to the mom’s of X and X, so they will come over our house to play XBOX.”

I said “OK I’ll write a note to your teacher, and have her send them our #. (I guess they won’t do that through the school, so I will have to address note’s to their parents, and formally “invite” them.)

Noah-“No! Mom, you have to make something cool, that will make them want to come over.”

Me-“OK I’ll see what I can do”

and THIS was what I came up with-

Noah said this when he saw them “That Kicks Alien Butt!” (my guess is that is a good thing.)

NOTE: I distorted our phone #-the card really does look cute other wise 😀

mytime-boy-playdate-la.jpg

This was really fun. Now I need to make some GIRLY ones for the girls 😀

What do you think of our XBOX playdate invites? I made a few to keep on hand. Something I rarely do, but these were fun and easy. Plus what a cute way to ask someone over!

Its not a card-rather a postcard. It features Noah’s name and our phone for the mother to call.

This paper seriously ROCKS!!!! It is by Polar Bear Press-the Celebration collection.

It was perfect for XBOX colors 😀 If you have one then you KNOW what color the buttons are! Speaking of buttons-the one’s on the controller are colored with a glitter pen in the XBOX button colors.

I used the All Guy set. The You’ve got game sentiment on the side is also part of that set.

The “screen” fits in the second smallestrectangle nestability, so it is dry embossed, as is the black layer. It looks just like a 3D TV in person!

The “an invitation” and “laugh play enjoy” (words on the block image, minus the flowers in between) is from Its a Party. I so LOVE that set!

Our personal info (name and #) was done using a old fashioned label maker! Its was really cool-and computer like to me.

So I hope you liked my idea, um er’ Noah’s idea 😀 for inviting someone to your house. Way to expand the use of your stamp collection.

This set is one of my favorite GUY sets.

Tomorrow is our blogger’s challenge, and I am posting a box of goodies I was sent. THANK GOD I got some happy mail. Lauren has been put on financial PROBATION :C

Too much coming up that I need to pay for, so no new stamps for me. Like fixing my kids teeth, getting Daisy fixed, dance class for Amber, school tuition-you get the idea.

I so want the new Elzybells and The Cat’s Pajama’s and Hannah Stamps has Riley coming out! What else? Oh yeah the newest yet to come Bella’s………oh boy! So much rubbah-so little $$. Better use what I actually have instead.

Till tomorrow.
