Setting up a playdate! The fun way.

Jan 24, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Noah has been at me to get to setting up a play date with 2 boys in his class. NOT at the same time-Mommy can only handle so much at once.

He said “Mom you gotta make me something to give to the mom’s of X and X, so they will come over our house to play XBOX.”

I said “OK I’ll write a note to your teacher, and have her send them our #. (I guess they won’t do that through the school, so I will have to address note’s to their parents, and formally “invite” them.)

Noah-“No! Mom, you have to make something cool, that will make them want to come over.”

Me-“OK I’ll see what I can do”

and THIS was what I came up with-

Noah said this when he saw them “That Kicks Alien Butt!” (my guess is that is a good thing.)

NOTE: I distorted our phone #-the card really does look cute other wise 😀

This was really fun. Now I need to make some GIRLY ones for the girls 😀

What do you think of our XBOX playdate invites? I made a few to keep on hand. Something I rarely do, but these were fun and easy. Plus what a cute way to ask someone over!

Its not a card-rather a postcard. It features Noah’s name and our phone for the mother to call.

This paper seriously ROCKS!!!! It is by Polar Bear Press-the Celebration collection.

It was perfect for XBOX colors 😀 If you have one then you KNOW what color the buttons are! Speaking of buttons-the one’s on the controller are colored with a glitter pen in the XBOX button colors.

I used the All Guy set. The You’ve got game sentiment on the side is also part of that set.

The “screen” fits in the second smallestrectangle nestability, so it is dry embossed, as is the black layer. It looks just like a 3D TV in person!

The “an invitation” and “laugh play enjoy” (words on the block image, minus the flowers in between) is from Its a Party. I so LOVE that set!

Our personal info (name and #) was done using a old fashioned label maker! Its was really cool-and computer like to me.

So I hope you liked my idea, um er’ Noah’s idea 😀 for inviting someone to your house. Way to expand the use of your stamp collection.

This set is one of my favorite GUY sets.

Tomorrow is our blogger’s challenge, and I am posting a box of goodies I was sent. THANK GOD I got some happy mail. Lauren has been put on financial PROBATION :C

Too much coming up that I need to pay for, so no new stamps for me. Like fixing my kids teeth, getting Daisy fixed, dance class for Amber, school tuition-you get the idea.

I so want the new Elzybells and The Cat’s Pajama’s and Hannah Stamps has Riley coming out! What else? Oh yeah the newest yet to come Bella’s………oh boy! So much rubbah-so little $$. Better use what I actually have instead.

Till tomorrow.

Time for a S.W.A.K down!

So I was called out by Lisa to do a challenge! I of course accepted, but was a bit intimidated.

She noticed my LOVE forPTI and decided to include me in her fun challenge to use  this pattern, that Lisa created to go inside the mini PTI heart tins! Isn’t it just so cute.

It will be VERY interesting to see what we can all do with that tiny little note card don’t you think?

Here is a list of the other girls who were asked to play along! Make sure you check out their stuff. I can’t wait.

  • Emily
  • Lauren thats me

  • OK Now its time to pony up, and share my creations! Yes I did two! I had fun with the first one, so did another.

    A little love note

So I cut and stamped the little note. It seemed so sad all alone! So I added it to a regal rose layer, then onto a paper heart lace doilies.

I had a hear time keeping straight cutting that pattern! LOL!

Anyway I think ths is soft sweet and a touch of elegant.

It uses the NEW!!! Out on a limb, which is just so gorgeous, no matter how bad you cut your heart! LOL!!!

After doing that one I felt compelled to give it another shot!

    Heartfelt Thanks

So I kept seeing butterfly! I know! I know! I could find a butterfly out of a circle, couldn’t I?

So for this one-I cut the little heart note out. I figured if I tilted it, it had the appearance of a butterfly wing.

Stamped it using Spiral Bouquet. This made the “wings” pattern, as well as the flourish under the Prima’s.

I then turned to my Butterfly Kisses, for the smaller wing layer (which was done using Fantasy Film-more on that —>here) Its is so pretty and shimmery. Adhesive rhinestones add a nice touch to the butterfly!

So, there you have it, the note is attached to the front of my card. It could hold a special message.

Well that is it for me. I will check on the girls later.

This little warm up has inspired a few other creations 😀 I’ll share those soon too.

    Let me hear your thoughts.

Tomorrow is our blog challenge and I STILL have a bunch to share-so come back soon.

    Till tomorrow!
