April Fools! How is it April already?

Well many of you know that Cancer research is a cause that is dear to my heart. When I saw this month’s Mini set byMFT -Happy Mother’s Day, I was very excited because it featured Daffodil’s.

Here is what a daffodil represents:

DAFFODIL: Regard, rebirth, new beginnings, unrequited love, you’re the only one, chivalry. Associated with the tenth wedding anniversary. Also the birth-flower for March.

DAFFODIL, SINGLE: Misfortune.

DAFFODIL, SEVERAL: Joy, happiness.

As the first flower of spring, the daffodil is a symbol of hope. To the American Cancer Society, it represents the hope we all share for a future where cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease. You can provide hope to all people affected by the disease by participating in the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days.

Anyway-I love supporting causes like this. I made this card below, to accompany a bouquet of Daffodil’s for Alexa’s Oncologist as a way to say thank you!

I took the main image, and stamped it onto black cardstock. I embossed it with silver EP. I then painted it with my Pearl Ex and Future Floor wax.

It gives such a pretty look in person. Lot’s of shimmer.

I then cut out JUST the potted daffodil’s and layered them onto a punched circle. I had stamped the sentiment block from Behind the Scene’s , on the base, and layered this over it.

I don’t know WHY but “I” totally love this card! Maybe because it is so clean and simple-and yellow is the color of hope as well.

Now we will show more detail!

This is the same image, as used in the card above. I love the paper (by memory box Aerial collection) peeking through the space around her. I positioned the paper, so the bird was sitting there, as if in a window.

Around the block the sentiment reads:

Thank you for being a gift in my life, loving without condition, giving all of yourself.

Isn’t that what mother’s do? I know my mom did that for us. I hope I am doing the same for my children.

We shouldn’t JUST recognize our mother on ONE day. Or anyone else for that matter. I don’t think you “get motherhood”, until you become a mom yourself. So many things our mother said and did, that didn’t make sense-till we felt it, or the horrible day come’s where her EXACT words spew from our own two lips! You know the one’s you swore you’d NEVER say! I hate that! LOL!

Anyway-just wanted to share this stuff with you. Remember to appreciate your mom, or that other someone special, and appreciate everyday you wake up and take a breath! EVEN MONDAY’S! LOL!

I know I am so thankful that Alexa is *almost* done her treatment, and doing so well. I have a higher power to thank for that. Many aren’t as blessed.

So today’s message-give lots of hugs and kisses to those who matter-don’t wait for tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow-I’ll see ya then!
