Nothing earth shatttering today. Finishing up some projects 😀 FUN!! FUN!! I love when it all just flows.
Stamping-This OBSESSION we like to affectionately call a “hobby”.
Many people just don’t get it. I know most of my friends don’t. They most likely think I’m insane. Some of the few friends I do have that stamp, well it really is just an “occasional” thing they do. Some haven’t replenished their cardstock, or bought any new stuff in months-maybe even over a year! (Can you imagine?)
Anyway-I try to tell people that don’t get it, what I get with stamping, is that you can do ANYTHING. Whatever you see in the store, YOU can do that, maybe even better. Again, they think “Oh here is crazy Lauren babbling on again”. So, whenever I get a Wedding, shower or even a birthday invite, I like to take the invitation as my card inspiration.
We can get inspiration from everywhere!! I know I do all the time. Now to show some of you what I mean. It’s sort of like casing.
I told you that I have a baby shower to help with. Here is the invitation, which I was inspired by 😀
It was a rather large invite. Sorry for the photo. To capture it I had to take a large photo, but then it was too large to load here. I had to tape out the personal stuff.
Anyway the large card, is the invite for the baby shower. Below it is my card, inspired by the shower invite.
Here is a closer look.
Sweet and simple-yet oh so cute!!
This card is 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 square card
I had this clear set Sassy Shilouette’s for over a year. NEVER used it! LOL! Till now. The images are pretty small. Cute though. SEE you never know when you are going to need something-LOL! (I think that is where the hobby goes to obsession)
I decided to use the border’s around the girl in the invite. Can you see all the nestability embossed border’s on my layers? I stamper her in chocolate since really didn’t want her in white. I wanted her in brown. She is afterall a shilouette right?
Since it is a shower card, to go with the gift, I tied the ribbon behind the layer to look like a gift 😀 I love doing that.
The spring moss cardstock, and sentiment is by Papertrey Ink.
So see you can make just about anything! I would have wrapped the gift to match too, but we got her the Bassinet-a little too large to have custom made wrap. I just bought a large gift sak at Target, which ended up being WAY bigger than I thought! Turns out you can fit a BIKE in it! Or even myself-with room to spare. It was only $4.99, so I thought it wouldn’t be THAT big! WOW! Im thinking Santa needs to get one for each kid next year, and they can just have a blast riffling through their new toys in the gift sak! LOL! Talk about a time saver. (Kidding, I know the fun is unwrapping every little gift)
Well that is all for today. It is the actual shower today so I will be pretty busy. Should be fun though. I have some more great things in store for the week. Hope you enjoyed the weekend 😀
Till tomorrow

Came to post my sketch card (I stole time away from packing to stamp!) and you’ve already got Sunday’s post up…wow! What a cute card. I also love to make my cards match the invite, theme, etc!
Love the baby card, love the cupcake card! Of course, it’s hard to not love everything you do!!!
I hope the shower was great fun! I’m sure she loved your gift and card, too…
Have a wonderful SUNDAY! Get some REST! (I’m not sure you know what that is!!!)
😀
Lauren,
I do exactly the same my RSVP I would make in the same colours as the invite and would always make the wedding day card and gift tag matching… think it shows you have put some love and thought into it and I just have a fear if sending the same card as others.
It stems back 36 yrs ago when I Lived in Germany and we shopped in the NAAFI ( the German shops were not big on cards at that time and besides the people I sent them to wouldn’t have been able to understand a word of it and neither could I .. can you imagine sending a bereavement card for an anniversary card cos I couldnt read German..LOL ) the NAAFI would have 2 choices in the way of birthday cards, congratulation, new baby etc….take it or leave it.. every birthday in our house always had at least 5 of the same card… it’s now a phobia with me …LOL.
Sorry for this long comment I thought it was my blog LOL.
enjoy your friends baby shower.
Luv Chriss x
Cute! Great example of how you can make anything with stamps and imagination. Have fun at the baby shower. We are planning an anniversary party for my inlaws today, ugh! But guess who gets to make the invites? YEA! Had to buy new PTI for them and everything. 🙂 -Molly B
Lauren, this is oh so sweet! That little stamp is adorable!!! You did a wonderful job with the invites and I hope that the party goes really well!
Have a wonderful day!
I love the invite, so cute, love that brown on it. Very yummy!!
Well, I’ve missed you!!! Went out of town for Spring Break and then ended it yesterday taking the kids {(3 and 4) Taylor is almost 8 and can ski well (Have to plan her party ASAP!)} skiing! I’m exhausted and realize that 10 days away from home can leave you with a TON of laundry and catch up and the feeling of being WAY behind….Birthday Planning….THIS weekend! 🙂
Sounds like you have been busy and I’ve tried to catch up….LOVE the handyman! and Everything! You amaze me!! I did have the chance to go to a Michaels to search out the flowers…no luck 🙁 And I went into an Archiver’s…closing in 20 minutes….and had a great time just looking and touching and purchasing some fun new trinkets….not much…on a budget! Hope Alexa is doing well and your diet too! My bf that I did get to see and go to lunch with has lost 10 pounds so far (5 weeks)….I guess I need to make it happen for ME too…but I can’t give up my coffee!!
Have fun at the shower.
This are really nice, simple elegance. I hear you about people not “getting” it! None of my friends “get it” but they do tell me they like what I make. I always like to make something everyday and post to my blog and my mom, DH they don’t get it. Why are you on the computer all the time says mom, what could you be doing? That is why SCS, blogging etc is such an awesome way to connect with all the wonderful stampers out there!
As for inspiration I hear you, it’s all around. I posted a card for the Hanna Challenge using green / brown. May sound weird but I saw that combo on a HGTV show the other day and really liked it so I tried it on my card and it came out pretty good, I thought! 🙂
Have fun today, I know showers can be long and boring. I had one last weekend.

Lauren, it amazes me how talented you are. I visit your blog every day for inspiration. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!!
What an amazing card once again I’m stunned by your gift of card making and ideas TFS.

Cute! I love stylish baby cards.
Don’t you just love the Sassy Silhouettes set. I always use this cute little pregnant gal to make cards for my preggie friends. Thanks for reminding me about that set. I may have to get busy and use it. Have a great day!
Very cute card! TFS.
Love the card as always!! I just wanted to let you know that I linked you for an award that you already got, but you are truly an inspiration in more ways than one. Don’t worry about all the details – You deserve many awards over and over 🙂
Your card looks great! Isn’t it just wonderful how the things around us turn into such wonderful inspirations?! I hope you have an awesome time at the shower. They can be fun! Well, I’m gonna go stamp while my youngins are napping. 🙂
I love it that you showed us both the original inspiration as well what you created too. This is just adorable! Hope you have a great time at the shower.
Gorgeous…… as always! Have fun at the shower!
Yeah…people don’t get me either( with all the continually purchasing more scrap/stamp stuff) But that is okay.
Your cards are pretty. I love them.
Have fun at the shower, and there is no way you would fill up that Target bag. It’s too big, and you’re NOT that big.
You are amazing, this is so pretty & smart of you, I luv it & I luv the colors!!!
Simple and sweet, and I love how you did the ribbon!!
Lauren, once again you hit the nail on the head. Nobody understands the obsessions of a stamper! I finally told my SO (significant other) that my obsession with stamps and stuff is just like his with tools. Now he understands. His 16 year-old thought the main entry to our mall was through the Craftsman tool section at Sears LOL.
As usual, you’ve shown great inspiration and creativity. I have promised myself to start posting on my new BLOG very soon! Have a great Monday!
cute idea to use the same theme as the invite, love your ribbon with it!
I totally understand the whole, “not getting it” thing. I’m glad my husband does, at least. These invites are gorgeous! I’m in charge of making some for my SIL and still haven’t figured out what I’m doing. 0fs
