Its Christmas time, in the city

Oct 4, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Well I am back from Amber’s party and we had so much fun! The girls looked beautiful after getting all done up. I’ll report more on that in a separate post soon. Im truly exhausted. Its amazing how much a little party can take out of you!

More Christmas cards to share today. Seems so crazy that I started making this stuff in AUGUST! Now its getting colder out, so I’m not minding the holiday stuff so much.

I want to share a card that was on the WCMD weebite, in representation of Lizzie Anne Designs.

 lad-snowy-city.jpg

Christmas in the city

It uses a set called Holiday lane (on sale today only). I create a little “city” of houses with that set, and just fell in love with it. They houses are just so cute. I paired it with some Basic Grey paper (which I found Papertrey Inks Aqua mist to be a great Holiday color too). I did some sponging  and added some snow with a singlo white gel pen. Perfect snowy city

Now for another-

You can see the step by step directions and photos for this card shown below—> HERE

twinkling-tree-ornament.jpg

Now the ALL the stamps used on the Santa’s workshop cards, are 20% off TODAY ONLY!!

The Fall Release is also now available–>Here!

That is it for now. Another post to write! This is 2 of the 3 for today, so scroll on down.

World Card Making Day Sketch

Oct 4, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch, Uncategorized

Well today is World Card Making Day. YEAH! I love an stamping “holiday”.

Unfortunately, I will not be celebrating by stamping, but I will be celebrating in another way. I am going to be having a blast at Amber’s birthday party today 😀 So Im off and running.

So my time here in blog land is very short. I will return with more to post (sneak peek stuff), but figured I better get to posting the sketch for those of you who wait for it 😀

This week’s keyword is mytimess08

mytimess08.png

This should be a fun one. I wish I had more time to play and do another, but I have a busy week here. I think flipping it would be cool too.

So, that being said here is my take on the sketch-

peace-sketch.jpg

Peace

It does say peace to me. Very calm looking, yet a little elegant.

I made this in pink’s (sweet blush, and regal rose, with a touch of olive) because of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Someone we know has a recent diagnosis, and this will be getting sent her way.

I used the In the Meadow set by Lizzie Anne Designs. Their Fall Release is today as well.

I colored my flowers, direct to stamp, with markers. My white layer is 1 X 3 1/2. Olive Layer is 1 1/4 X 3 3/4, if you are looking for an easy layout for the typical A2 size card.

I ran my gold maker quickly along the edges for a touch if gold in my border. I think it looks really pretty. Subtle and soft.

OK I need to run. Busy day, but I’ll be back later 😀

I can’t wait to see what you all do with the sketch this week!

    Candy Carton Carrier

    Cute Candy Carton Carrier

    Let the previews begin!

Told you the first week of the month is CRAZY busy for me . Lots more to share.

Now I am going to share my 3rd post of the day-and this preview is for a new to be released set from All That Scraps. This will be released on the 7th! The set is from a new line called Cookie Crumbs-designed by my fellow dirty girl Diane Zechman, and its called Annabelle. Congrats to Diane for all her hard work, and this new product line 😀

Of course when you see a cow, you think MILK! LOL! The thing I love about this is all the amazing sentiments.

Well I had bought these little clear bridal shower gift boxes at Michaels. I decided to make a milk carton topper for the lids, so the lids just pop off, and you can get at your YUMMY Reese Peanut-butter cups, without ruining the topper.

Aren’t these SO cute?? I was just bouncin over it. Its a great way to give a yummy gift. Or an inexpensive favor for a farm themed birthday party.

I put 4 together, and made a little carton holder. I was really pleased.

    dairy-princess-tote.jpg

    Candy Carton Carrier front

The front says “Dairy Princess”, and the other side says ” All wishes granted today” I decorated both sides so its cute all the way around.

I hope this makes someone day.

Check out the blog for more samples. Also Diane will be giving away her set on her blog here!

    Thanks for looking 😀

More peeks today of the New! Fall Release from Lizzie Anne Designs.

All the sets featured here will be available for purchase tomorrow, in honor of WCMD!

This card uses a new set called Build a bauble.

     little-ornament.jpg

    Merry little Christmas

This is the perfect card for those Christmas cards you need like 50 of! It is very quick and simple. For this particular card I used Shimmerz to paint my ornament. I then stamped it onto my ivory base. These little jars of shimmerz are perfect for adding a real wow to your card. I so wish you could see the shimmer my ornament has! I used the Pink and Olive found —> HERE! It takes a plain card and makes it a WOW! I swear. You know me & my bling 😀

The sentiment is done in Encore gold ink, and is from Holiday Script which is a gorgeous collection of  holiday sentiments. So many perfect one’s to choose from 😀

Next up we have a Bloomin Basket—>Tutorial here

That I decided to make a little different by making the sides come out at an angle.

This makes it much larger 😀 YEAH! I added some score lines for interest.

    all-boxed-up.jpg

    Happy for you!

The presents are from the Party Animals set! I stamped them each in different colors, and used embroidery floss for my bows. A very simple and fun look I think 😀 I also tied the ribbons in the black bow to match.

The sentiment is from another new set called Circle sentiments(which I also used in yesterdays card! OOPS!)

You can find your peeks of the new sets–> here!

Need to run and do another post.

    Party Time

OK once again Post #2 for today! So scroll on down!! I don’t type for my health people!

Well thank you all for wishing Jason a Happy Birthday. I will share his card later this week. Its really cute, I think, and SO Jason.

You would think we are done with birthdays, but we have ONE more, Amber’s party at the Salon is this Saturday. Then I need to get planning for Noah’s party! LOL! Crazy huh?

All this party planning has me in Birthday mode.

When I saw this new set Party Animals from Lizzie Anne I went nuts! I think its just totally adorable.

You can view the set on the LAD Sneak Peek page—> HERE! The sets are being released Saturday Oct 4th on World Card Making Day (WCMD). All the design team members shold be featuring peeks at various times over the next few days. So check out the links on my sidebar.

So here is my first sample

    hot-dog-hot-colors.jpg

    Hot Dog-its your birthday!

Isn’t this so cute?! I have a hard time with Boyish/Manly cards but think this one is pretty cute!! Even if it does have some bling. Boys like bling don’t they? Who cares, this is cute. I love my layout too.  A sketch I drew up like 2 months ago, and never got to. I took the circles from my SEI ribbon, and it all just fell together. I love when that happens. This is one of those under 10 minutes cards. Since I had my layout, and my colors, it just flowed. The dog was super easy to color, and cut out,but that took the longest. These colors are just so fabulous together don’t you think? I LOVE ribbon. By the responses on my “whats your favorite thing to use” post Im not alone.

Next up we have another ribbon inspired creation

    lad-party.jpg

    A little slow……..

Yeah I think I need to make a hundred of these! I have SO MANY PSF’s who I need and want to send stuff to. Before I know it its like 3 months AFTER their birthday! I think I need to make a card organizer with a b-day calendar. OK that idea makes me want to stop typing and get inking!

Anyway, the card. Its a tall and skinny one- like 3 1/2 X 5 1/2

Sorry about the blurry photo. I took like 26 and then gave up. I FINALLY realized Noah got a fingerprint on the lens! DUH! I should have thought of that before. ALL my photos were coming out blurry. Anyway, this is what you get when your 5 year old uses the camera.

So I stamped, colored and cut out my super cute turtle. I love him/her.

The ribbon is another fave-American Crafts. OMG! I would LOVE to work for them 😀 Their stuff is amazing. But I refuse to scrapbook, so that won’t ever happen. I just want all their ribbon-FREE! LOL! What cracks me up is I have an INSANE amount of ribbon, and I somehow never have what I am looking for at the time! Does that happen to you? How can you own HUNDREDS of ribbons, and still need more? Crazy.

Anyway, all the colors are Papertrey Ink (except the olive) Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Lemon Tart, and Aqua Mist. I have to say that the Lemon, Blush and chocolate are my absolute FAVORITES!! I could eat them up Im so in love with them. I stamped my present image in craft white ink on my squares. I use the CTMH Craft white. It is by far the BEST I have ever tried, and that is a whole lot of white inks!

Anyway I liked that card too.

Well I gotta go. Time to workout.

    Till tomorrow

    Girls gotta love shoes……….

    mft-showbox-front.jpg

    My Favorite Shoebox

Well I don’t love shoes, but I love shoe stamps 😀

OK I know I mentioned this at one time, but I HATE buying shoes! I always have. I think I have like 3 pair. My sneakers (which I desperately need new ones), a pair of black shoes to go with my jean-you know with the high chunky heel. Not that I need to look taller, already being 5’10, but hey the taller you are the thinner you look right? Then I have some black heels-for dressy occasions, and well I have like 6 pairs of flip flops. So I guess I have more than I thought. Do flip flops count? I could live in just those. I love them. When I’m home Im always bare foot. I know strange. My shoe aversion may be because I have big feet. Not so big that they don’t fit my body, but I am relatively tall, so I wear a size 10. Sometimes I can get into a 9!! WAHOO!! My shoe shopping aversion is just for me though! LOL! I buy like 6 pairs each for the kids, per season. (Another discussion I know I had here, given that my husband thinks kids only need like ONE pair for their entire LIFE! God forbid their feet actually GROW)

That being said for some odd reason I totally LOVE the new MFT set Window Shopping. Can also be found here. I mean really love it. Maybe because I wish I could get into the whole shoe fetish thing that most women have, but I just can’t. Don’t get me wrong Im a girly girl all the way, just not a shoe person. Heck I never even carried a handbag until Alexa got sick and I NEEDED stuff. I was never a diaper bag person either. I would carry a nice “bag” that looked nothing like a diaper bag. Now that we rarely need to bring anything with us I am in heaven. Although we do keep a backpack in the car with clothes and other JUST IN CASE items. Alexa falls alot and it always seems to be the ONE tiny spot where there is a puddle from like a rainstorm 3 weeks before! Murphy’s Law you know.

ANYWAY- like everyday I got off topic-I was being inspired by the set, I created my own Shoebox! Its a super cute size that can fit lots of fun stuff, and yes, maybe even a pair of shoes. You may have seen a snippet of this in the MFT news letter.

    mft-shoebox-side.jpg

    Side view from newsletter

I used some delicious Amy Butler Paper, the Sola pack for my base/top. I love using double sided cardstock for gift boxes like these, makes the in and out so appealing.

I had fun coloring it, and think it looks pretty darn good 😀 This is one of those that I will most likely hoard, since I have a hard time sending stuff away. I really should send it off as I have tons to things I need to send some people (all very LATE of course). But, you know me, I must make something just for them.

I just had fun layering the images, and some prettyPrima flowers.

My flower centers are YUMMYbella dots!! Oh how I love those.

The ribbon is by May Arts.

I have much more from this release to share. If you are going to pick up some MFT I am telling you now, that the Stephanie Fizer line is in LIMITED amounts. Oh and I have some SUPER stuff to share with them 😀 so just take my word for it, and get it now! LOL!

OK I have another post to type so Im on the run.

    Be right back
