My Favorite Shoebox
Well I don’t love shoes, but I love shoe stamps 😀
OK I know I mentioned this at one time, but I HATE buying shoes! I always have. I think I have like 3 pair. My sneakers (which I desperately need new ones), a pair of black shoes to go with my jean-you know with the high chunky heel. Not that I need to look taller, already being 5’10, but hey the taller you are the thinner you look right? Then I have some black heels-for dressy occasions, and well I have like 6 pairs of flip flops. So I guess I have more than I thought. Do flip flops count? I could live in just those. I love them. When I’m home Im always bare foot. I know strange. My shoe aversion may be because I have big feet. Not so big that they don’t fit my body, but I am relatively tall, so I wear a size 10. Sometimes I can get into a 9!! WAHOO!! My shoe shopping aversion is just for me though! LOL! I buy like 6 pairs each for the kids, per season. (Another discussion I know I had here, given that my husband thinks kids only need like ONE pair for their entire LIFE! God forbid their feet actually GROW)
That being said for some odd reason I totally LOVE the new MFT set Window Shopping. Can also be found here. I mean really love it. Maybe because I wish I could get into the whole shoe fetish thing that most women have, but I just can’t. Don’t get me wrong Im a girly girl all the way, just not a shoe person. Heck I never even carried a handbag until Alexa got sick and I NEEDED stuff. I was never a diaper bag person either. I would carry a nice “bag” that looked nothing like a diaper bag. Now that we rarely need to bring anything with us I am in heaven. Although we do keep a backpack in the car with clothes and other JUST IN CASE items. Alexa falls alot and it always seems to be the ONE tiny spot where there is a puddle from like a rainstorm 3 weeks before! Murphy’s Law you know.
ANYWAY- like everyday I got off topic-I was being inspired by the set, I created my own Shoebox! Its a super cute size that can fit lots of fun stuff, and yes, maybe even a pair of shoes. You may have seen a snippet of this in the MFT news letter.

I used some delicious Amy Butler Paper, the Sola pack for my base/top. I love using double sided cardstock for gift boxes like these, makes the in and out so appealing.
I had fun coloring it, and think it looks pretty darn good 😀 This is one of those that I will most likely hoard, since I have a hard time sending stuff away. I really should send it off as I have tons to things I need to send some people (all very LATE of course). But, you know me, I must make something just for them.
I just had fun layering the images, and some prettyPrima flowers.
My flower centers are YUMMYbella dots!! Oh how I love those.
The ribbon is by May Arts.
I have much more from this release to share. If you are going to pick up some MFT I am telling you now, that the Stephanie Fizer line is in LIMITED amounts. Oh and I have some SUPER stuff to share with them 😀 so just take my word for it, and get it now! LOL!
OK I have another post to type so Im on the run.
Be right back

Love that!! I hate shoe shopping too! But it’s because my feet are soo SMALL. (I wear a 4 1/2). I can’t even find shoes half the time….
Cute, cute set. I’m right there with you on the not lovin’ to shoe shop. I have a “normal” size foot, but I don’t like trying on shoes. I don’t have any flip-flops. I just can’t stand the thong part between my toes – drives me nuts! Just like I CAN’T IMAGINE wearing thong panties. Just thinking about it makes me want to pick my butt. *cringe*
Maybe that to much info – but, can we really ever have to much info? I think not. *wink*
Nope, I’m not big into buying shoes either. I did go through a phase once upon a time but that was it. Now I’d much rather buy stamps and stamping stuff!
Cute card – what a great color combination!
Hugs!
PS. Pam – you crack me up! K always rolls her eyes when I refer to flip-flops as thongs but I’m pretty sure that’s what they used to be called when I was younger. LOL
Gorgeous card and box!! I can see why you don’t want to part with it. :o)
As for shoe shopping. I wouldn’t call myself Imelda Marcos, but I do own quite a few pairs. Mostly because I have a hard time throwing out old ones. I become so attached to comfy shoes even though they’re worn and butt ugly. LOL
Hey Lauren…I’m not a shoe fiend either, but I love shoe themed stamp sets. Your box is great, love the colors!
I have to admit that I wasn’t too impressed with this set because I too, I am not a shoe person at all. I like them, I just don’t like wearing them. I see them and think they are just so gosh darn cute. Then I try them on. I have never really been a shoe person, growing up in the desert no need for shoes too much and then when I moved to Alaska it is custom to take your shoes off when entering someone’s house. So, I do that now even though we dont’ live there anymore.
Anyway, off topic big time. I do love what you did with this set and the shoe box I idea is so gosh darn cute.
TFS!!!
Oh yeah, I also gotta buy the kids all kinds of things. I love buying things for the kids, more than me.
Hey, I thought I was the only female who hated going shoe shopping! I can’t tell you the last time I bought a new pair of shoes or sneakers for that matter for me. Its pretty bad – and you can tell by looking at what I do wear, that I don’t go that often. I think DH has more pairs of shoes than I do!
Love your shoe box! Its so pretty! Great job!
I love it too.

That is so funny Lauren, because I can’t stand to be barefoot! I think it stems back to when I was in middle school and I stepped on a snail! EW! It wouldn’t just wash off either, had to be scraped off! Yuck! Now I never go barefoot; especially outdoors.
I love your card! The colors are so soft.
Rubba slippa – that’s how you prounounce them. Since I am from Hawaii but living in Sicily, I wear them with socks when it gets cold. When I moved back here last year all I had was slippas so when it got really cold I had to wear a pair of my son’s shoes because I didn’t have an actual pair of close toed shoes. Shoes are Phenomenal just not close toed ones………… Thanks for the bella dots info, gotta go check those our and your colors are YUMMY…………
Love your box, I too can’t stand by shoes, I will try them on and think they fit great and even walk around in the store, I get them home and wear them and I hate how they feel.
Okay, I made the mistake of reading Pam’s comment. Gathering my thoughts. Cleaning the screen. Okay. Lauren, This shoebox is awesome. I LOVE the colors. And thanks for being late on things, makes me feel less guilty. Anyway, when you get a card 3 months after your birthday – it’s a delightful surprise!
Cute image and fabulous colors!!! For sure my shoes wouldn’t go in this lovely box – it would be for treasures 🙂
Lauren, cute set! I have been seeing this set all over SCS. I just bought from MFT sets from the BST forum and got play with 2 sets last night and put for Frances’ sketch challenge.
LOVE the box and color scheme! Any chance you will share the box tutorial with us – inquiry minds want to know *wink*! Love what you said about your hubby – our hubbies seem to think alike. He keeps telling us that he always had only 2 pairs of shoes growing up…well, times change, my dear!
Thanks for sharing your lovely box…love, loving MFT!!!!
your shoe box is great! I am also IN LOVE WITH SHOES. I have more pairs than I need, as well as about 15 pairs of flip flops.
[…] Girls gotta love shoes………. […]
haha!! i too have learned to love flip flops — but I wear a size 11 – and as a girl who loves shoe shopping – this can be problematic!!! I won’t even go try to count the number of pairs I own – and this is after having 2 massive cleanouts in the last 4 months.
Really cute card!!
