Sorry this is a bit later than norm. I have been sledding out back with the kids. So fun. I miss being a kid sometimes. Only care was will there be hot chocolate when I get home, with some warm soup & grilled cheese sandwich! Now its so much more.
My hiney is officially FROZEN. They are still outside with my brother. I remember being a kid and being outside ALL day. My kids don’t ever get out unless I’m there with them the entire time. The world is a much different place than it once was. Granted I am pretty paranoid about people taking my kids, so that doesn’t help. I would NEVER leave them in our own back yard alone, and we live in a “nice” quiet town. That may even be worse! You get a false sense of “safety”. I cringe when I think of what I did as a kid at their ages. I would DIE letting my kids do any of that.
OK you don’t need to hear about my paranoia.
Purr-fect together forever
More stamped creations with LeLo Designs 😀 This image is called You Go First.
I got over 200 emails asking where YOU can get them. WOW! I should get a commission. I’m in the wrong “business”! LOL! I have to say the images are REALLY cute.
Well All That Scraps IS getting in the designs soon! Don’t worry I will let you know. I was fortunate enough to get to pre-order some when buying some other stuff 😀
There is also a Store Page if you want to find some in your area 😀 They sell to all over the world it looks like.
Well “back in the day”, about 1 1/2 years ago, before my luscious Copic markers, I use to use my Prismacolor pencils, and gamsol. I use to be pretty good with them, until my Copic markers came. Then I dropped my pencils like a hot potato! Granted Im not fabulous with them either, but I love them.
I loved my Prismacolor pencils, and that is why I kept them all, but am sadly out of practice :C
The Stampavie DT does AMAZING things with these images, and it seems they ALL use the Prismacolor pencils, so-wanting to be like them with their mad skills, I decided to try my hand at them again.
Well, obviously its not gone too well for me! LOL! Need to get back to practicing again. I think I just need to be me, and not try to be like anyone else. Stick with what I’m better at-KWIM?
So I will.
Here is my close up with the pencils
I will say I did have fun making the cat a tiger cat with the pencils-other than that, no such luck :C My copic’s are just easier for me now. Still practicing, but thats OK.
If you didn’t recognize it this is my sketch from Saturday mytimess15 . I used the heart for my “circle” and the cats as my space where there was paper before. Its a loose version of the sketch but I like the lovey, cheery colors!!
My sentiment is actually from the JustRite Stampers Romance small pre-inked words set.It was so purr-fect! LOL!
The paper is from K&co I believe. Very pretty. I got it last year! LOL!!
OK now I know I have a few more things to share, but with the snow I need to get back to time with my kids.
So, till tomorrow-

GIRL who are you kidding YOU FREAKING ROCK w/anything you touch this is super cute as well as coloring with those Copics.. its true when I color w/my copics I swear for a milli sec. I am a great artist! lol its just something about them LOOVEE THEM!.. oh and I’m JUST like you.. you hear all the kids outside and all I can think is where is your MAMA.. NOT ME if I am not right there outside w/my babies then sorry no go.. Even when my DH is out there w/them you see me checking on them still! lol.
Now I want to go out and play in the snow (did your Mom dress you in one of those one piece snowsuits where you couldn’t put your arms down too?) and come inside for hot chocolate, grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. Sigh, we live in Georgia at the moment, no snow. 🙁 I think it is supposed to be in the 70s all this week… I know there are reasons to be happy about that, no shoveling (thus no back pain), no skidding, but there are a lot of fond memories attributed with snow too. Enjoy!
Cute card!

I think its soooo cute. I, too, put away my Prismacolors and use my Copics all the time. I do love the way they look, tho. I think I’m just too busy/stressed/ LAZY to use the Prismas and OMS. Oh well…
Love those Stampavie stamps. Gee ,Thanks for enabling.Lol.

I like both the Copics and the Prisma pencils. The vibrancy of the Copics always catches my eye. But looking at the pencils, blending is so much more soft and subtle.
I think of the Prisma pencils as the old cartoons with all the slightly muted colors, all the shading which added a different kind of depth and interest to the drawings. And the Copics are like the new cartoons, even with shading, the depth isn’t quite the same although the colors pop.
I like your card and coloring. :O)
Meredith reminded me of my favorite blue, one piece snow suit. When I outgrew the suit, my mother sold it and afterward, I cried and cried and cried. I even remember making ugly faces at the couple who bought the suit hoping they would feel scared and change their mind. They probably thought I was a nasty child, not realizing my heart was breaking.
Awwwe! I love this card! It is sooo cute!!! Love the coloring you did on it too! I love Valentine stuff!!!~Heidi
Ok Im not following you, what exactly is it that you think is not so good about your coloring on this card?!?!?!?
Hope you and the kids are all thawed out. More snow coming the end of the week. They are saying we could get a foot or more during a big Nor’ Easter on Sunday night. Yikes, winter is really here isn’t. You reminded me I need to get Tyler a sled. Have a great night. -Molly B
So cute Lauren! I think your shading with the prismacolours is awesome! Enjoy the time with the kids…sounds fun!
I think it looks great!
totally *Jealous* that you have snow…and yes, I remember that exact thing…being out ALL day, or what felt like it anyway, and coming in for hot chocolate…mmmmm YUM.
we only got a dusting, then it got covered with ice…and today it melted…just not quite there yet…
love your card, not exactly sure what isn’t ‘good’ about it…you’re a lot harder on yourself than you should be!! Truly adorable!
Hope you enjoyed the wintertime fun with the kiddos!!

Hmmmm…looks great to me. Right down to that sweet little striped kitty face.
Lauren, you rocked the primas what are you talking about?! I hear you about dropping them once the Copics arrived. Also had a good laugh about your paranoia about the kids–that TOTALLY sounds like me. It sure is nice to hang out with the kids–glad you can do that with them. Hugs.
just noticed I wrote primas and not prismas (honest mistake) *lol*
I love your card and I know what you mean. I use to use prisma and gamsol all the time too but now its watercolors or markers. I tried my pencils again the other day and my ink smeared all over. I don’t remember that happening before lol I guess I should keep trying to I stay in practice.
Lauren, what in the world are you talking about? Girlfriend, you rock with whatever you put your mind to. Your coloring is fantastic with the prismas. Geez, please quit being so hard on yourself. That image is just too freakin cute.
If we had snow I’d be out there too! I love snow, and I’m glad you’ve been able to enjoy some fun times with your kids.
I don’t think you’ve lost your touch with the pencils Lauren, it’s just a different look. I think we get so used to the vibrancy of the copic colors that we thing the softer look of the pencils is wrong.
Cute card!
I’m not sure how old your children are. There is definitely a time to be protective of them. I remember when my daughter was just starting middle school (I think!) and I had the revelation that it was going to be 6 short years until she left me to be on her own in college and it was my job to make sure that she was ready for that experience. I needed to teach her to be independent and make good decisions now so that I didn’t have to worry about her ability to be on her own then. It meant giving her more freedom than I was comfortable with at times. My daughter is a freshman in college now and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She is an extremely capable young woman with a level head on her shoulders and I rest easy at night knowing that she has the tools she needs to be on her own.
You’re not being paranoid. I totally think you’re right for wanting to keep an eye on your kids at all times when they are outside. We live in a crazy world, with some crazy people roaming around.
I’m the same as you. Either my DH or I must be outside with the kids at all times. If we have to go inside even for a few seconds, the kids have to come in too and wait on the doormat inside until we go back out. One of my greatest fears is turning my back for a minute and one of my kids going missing. I think it’s every parent’s worse nightmare.
Anyways, your colouring, regardless of what medium and tools you use are always amazing. Don’t ever doubt your talents Lauren! :o)
Lauren you are silly! Your coloring is always fab, wether it’s with copics or prismacolor pencils!!!
And I don’t think you are being overly paranoid, we live in a crazy scary world that is very different from when we were kids. Kids need to be watched, there are sick people everywhere, it’s sad but that’s just the way it is…
I don’t like the Copic Markers. The smell bothered me. I ordered one set online. I would have to buy more of them. I would also have to learn how to learn to shade w/them. No,thank you I keep my Prism coloring pencils. I love they lay the color down smothly. I love the bright colors, they don’t bleed I can’t use the spray either. I use w/color pencils where I want to blend and shade. These are w/in my price range.
