BRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it ever FREEZING here in New Hampshire.
I have a little goody to share to help warm up those COLD days. A GREAT gift for the mailman this time of year.
I have been out and about, running around like a mad woman. They say that due to the “recession” many people won’t even be shopping this season. Well, I don’t know if they have been to Target lately but I don’t see an empty parking lot, that is for sure.
I am uncertain if I will even brave the Black Friday shopping venture I usually go on this year. Seems so busy all ready. I found a cute pair of brown shoes at Target that I DIDN’T buy because I was exercising RESTRAINT.Now they are ALL I keep thinking about! I’m not a “shoe” person but every girl need a pair of black & brown dressy shoes to wear with jeans.
I didn’t want to spend $32 on them :C I have HAD to buy new clothes 😀 Not a complaint, its a great thing, but shoes didn’t seem to be a necessity. As it was I needed more make-up. Something I use daily but HATE buying. I may go back today. Yes, I think I deserve them 😀 I have been working really hard, and they will really complete my outfits. OK I know you don’t care about my shoe issue. Just had to share my indecisiveness. I am after all a SAHM so my “shoe wearing” excursions are only to the kids school, school meetings, and food shopping! LOL! Nothing fancy or exciting. At home I am barefoot-always. I think I need a new winter coat too. Oh boy. This could get ugly! LOL!
Anyway…………….speaking of Target I have my cute cocoa cup project to share today! It is a covered Archer Farms disposable coffee cup 😀 You get like 12 for $3. Im sure you can get a better deal elsewhere.
Inside are 2 different flavored cocoas (my MIL gave them to me and they were perfect for the post today)
I just made a template, and cut a cover from my pink cardstock. I then took some super cool adhesive paper from Scor-Pal (not posted yet??) and punches various snowflakes. Put the punched stickers on my cup, and covered in glitter!
I used my sweet little Santa from Rockin Holiday, as my main focus. He is just SO flippin cute! SO! I used some icicle stickles for his hat and jacket trim.
The sentiment reads: Holiday memories warm even the coldest of days
Perfection!
I LOVE using shades of pink & red for holiday stuff.
I love the little ric rac ribbon along the bottom. SO cute.
Now once I got going on this I thought “Oh! Wouldn’t a gift card holder to a coffee shop be so perfect for this?” Why, yes! Yes, it would! LOL!
So I used one of My Timeless Templates, For Keep{Sake} (only printing ONE of the templates) to make my gift card holder.
Now I didn’t have a gift card to a coffee shop handy when I created this, but in hindsight, I would have. So just use your imagination, and make the colors the same as your giftcard! LOL!
Here is the card holder portion, slide out
So, for ANOTHER idea, instead of putting Cocoa in the cup, a great way to present a gift card holder would be to make a gift card holder and put in your cocoa cup instead!!
But for now-here are both together.
I love that is is all matchy matchy. You can also include both like you see here. Its up to you.
SO that is it for today. This week I am hard at work making items for deadlines. I want to finish early so I can just enjoy family time.
I hope the many of you who have emailed me or replied about my weight-loss post have been diligent, and followed through with starting to work out. One benefit to having my brother love with me is I feel like I have a personal trainer at my house! LOL! Upon his wisdom he advised I make a specific purchase, so I did. I just bought a Kettlebell (comes with a DVD) to HOPEFULLY help me kick off the last 10-15lbs I WANT to lose. I have lost 4 more lbs! YEAH!! I am NOW down about 40lbs, 4 pant sizes, and 2 shirt sizes! (shirts run differently) All without stepping a SINGLE foot in a gym or on a membership! That means more $$ for clothes 😀
I have some “problem” areas and my brother is the perfect person to help me target them. You can see why I say that HERE . So Ill keep you posted on the Kettlebell workout once I give it a try.
I have THROWN OUT (aka donated) every single item that is too big for me! I am leaving myself NO ROOM to grow out of my current size! Only going DOWN from here! If it gets snug, then my hiney better kick it up a notch. I refuse to go slowly work my way out of my jeans. NOT going to happen. I am also changing out my workouts to keep it fun and interesting. I will say HAVING to buy smaller clothes is the BEST part of it all.
I’m NOT letting Thanksgiving KILL my hard work. I am making a low fat dessert for the family. Not sure WHAT yet. AND I already have a entire “plan” for what I am going to put onto my plate. Yes, I am having dessert 😀 A SLIVER of pumpkin pie (my MIL makes a KILLER one that I have been craving for 2 months now!), and a SLIVER of something else. Not sure what it will be yet, but whatever the “regular” portion size, Im going with HALF that. I think if you go in knowing what you are going to eat you won’t over do it. We also always go for a brisk walk after. Better bring my sneakers.
Many of you asked me so many questions, one being WHAT I cook for dinner! LOL! Well I LOVE this site—-HERE. EVERY single recipe I have tried has been AMAZING! Check it out.
OK I think I have gone on and on enough today.
Have a great start to the week. I have so much to share so I hope you check back in again 😀
PLEASE feel free to post things that YOU are doing to stay healthy, any progress you made, sites you like, exercises to try, recipe’s for low fat desserts (PLEASE!!) or other great recipe’s you want to share!
Ok thanks again for letting me gush. OK you didn’t LET me, but if you read it all, thanks! LOL! Not sure I would have.
Till tomorrow

This really turned out so cute and sweet. I can think of so many people this would be great to give to. The ric rac ribbon on the bottom looks like a little snow drift!
I think you deserve those shoes too Lauren!
Love the cocoa cup holder and the template card – both are simply adorable! What great ideas
Yikes – you sound just like me with the shopping and needing a new winter coat. We’ve had freezing temperatures here too. I think last week it was in the teens and over the weekend the 20’s. It’s suppose to warm up a bit today. (Keeping fingers crossed – still have to finish those leaves)
Congrats on the recent 4 pounds – that’s awesome! 🙂 I’m going to start “my” program the day after Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing your helpful hints and inspiration.
Hugs!
That gift card holder is so adorable!
congrats on the weight loss! I lost 25 pounds myself a little over a year ago and buying new clothes was SO MUCH FUN!! Even shopping for bathing suits – which was never fun – became such a treat.
Congrats Lauren on your weightloss…you go girl!!!
This is super cute…love the pink….hehe!
I need to catch up on the templates…hoping during the holidays when things slow down a little…leading up to the holiday season seems way too busy lately!
I must say, I am super jealous of you right now. I have gained a lot of weight too, and having no desire to exercise or time, but lots of desire to loose the weight. I am so proud of you, it’s NOT an easy task getting weight off or being motivated. On the biggest looser one thing Bob the trainer says is you CAN have dessert once a week, so don’t strain on the pumpkin pie. It’s aloud, just for one day!
Keep up the good work, your doin’ great!
Hi! I love this gift wraping idea! I loved too the chest/armorie card. Wow, it is lovely!
About the excercising, keep going! You got me motivated and so I didn’t wait an extra day. Well, I didn’t start on Wednesday that I think was when I read your post, because I had my appointment at Jenny Craig and came back home too late and tired. But Thursday I even get my boyfriend to excercise with me (he’s militar and I used a boot camp tae bo DVD I already had) and I kicked his ass! Then Saturday I went downhill to meet with him so he could take me to eat something and pick up my correspondence. I’m hurting still but tonight I have an appointment with my Tae Bo Flex DVD! Thanks for keeping me motivated to go on. I’m only 17.5lbs slimmer but I haven’t been excercising and they don’t show up that much. But I’m starting to fit better inside clothes I stopped wearing completely.
Thanks!
what an adorable set! Way cute…and…GOOD FOR YOU!!! I need to get myself motivated…yes, I think I said this on your original weightloss post…I’m getting my feet wet. I’ve been drinking a big glass of milk before dinner, and I’m not nearly as hungry…small steps…but do need to do SOMETHING…especially because I don’t want to look like a big cow next to you & Paulette when I come back up in May 😉 Keep up the incredible work!!!
Congrats on all your hard work, get that brown pair of shoes! Can you share the company on the gft card designer paper? Thanks! [email protected] I always love your blog.
Very cute gift set! That roly poly Santa is so cute! I’ve never heard of the kettlebell – looks interesting. One of my favorite things to make is Pumpkin Spice cake. It’s a Weight Watchers recipe and only 2 points per serving. Mix together 1 box of spice cake mix and 1 15 oz can of 100% Pure Pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix). It won’t seem like enough liquid, but trust me it is. just mix it completely and bake according to cake mix package directions. It’s so yummy and moist! I hope you like it too!
That cocoa cup holder is a great idea! Gives me an idea for teacher’s gifts.
I was laughing while reading your humming and hawing about the shoes. You’ve worked hard! Go GET EM!! Of course you need them .. you need to look appropriately dressed when you go out right? I do the same thing though, and I think it’s a good rule to follow. If you see something in the store that you want to buy, leave it there, see if you’re still thinking about it the next day and if so, go get it. My mom has always made a recipe using whipped canned milk and lemon jello and canned pineapple. It’s delicious and I don’t think it’s too ‘bad.’ I’ll look up the recipe and email you.
Hey Lauren! Your cocoa holder is adorable! You find the neatest things and then make them even cooler!
Congrats on your big weight loss. It’s hard, but totally worth it. My hubby and I have been steadily losing weight since May. He found out he was diabetic, so we needed to change the way we ate. I also got a job as a water aerobic instructor at the local gym and we got free memberships because of it. Now, we swim laps for an hour every day and I do a one hour class each day too. With eating right, I’ve lost 20 lbs and I’m down 2 sizes… I couldn’t be happier. Its GREAT to go shopping for small clothes again.
Hang in there during the holidays. Have a treat every now and then… but keep working hard!
HUGS!
You sooooo deserve the shoes if any one does! Congratulations on all of your weight loss success! Love the little coffee cup and gift card holder!! What a cute little idea!
My parents are both diabetics so we cook with Splenda instead of sugar to be more healthy. I have heard a lot of people say they don’t like the taste of things with splenda and would rather use real sugar. If that is the case, but you really need to cut down on the sugar, you can start off by doing half sugar and half splenda in a recipe until you geet used to it!
1i1i1i1i1 —-oops – sorry – note from my 21 month old!
God Bless You,
Mary

Hi Lauren! Great project!!! Thank you for the idea! Congratulations on your New Healthy Lifestyle! I have lost some weight still need about 20 lns to go but I am slowly getting there. I run, drink lots of water and I have tons of workout videos, my favs are by The Firm, there older ones are Killer and that Fanny lifter sure does lift your fanny LOL! Keep the good work!…and go get the shoes before they run out 😉
What beautiful projects you made!!! Oh so lovely in PINK!!!
Congrats and Thank you for all your tips and on your weight loss! You go girl!!! I went and ordered the 2 first dvds of the biggest loser workouts,I’ll start with those as soon as I get them.
It has been a life time battle for me with weight loss and it is so true,we don’t need a miracle diet or a gym to lose any kind of weight. Since 1987 I had lost 101 pounds on my own. Then gained some back over the years, then in 1996 lost it again, and now I have 5 to 10 pounds left to lose (which are the hardest) but am determined to lose before xmas. I am going on holidays in Jan and want to be at my goal weight cause I know there I will gain a bit.
I am a member of TOPS which stands for Taking Off Pounds Sensibly. It is a great motivating group, you follow your own diet and do your own exercise,it is more a support group than anything else. But I need to go and get weighed every week, keeps me on top of things.
You are looking so great Lauren and thanks for the motivation and inspiration!!!! You are one super women which I look up to soooo much!!! Mouahhhhhhhxoxoxo!!!
Can’t wait to read what you think about the kettlebell or is it ball – too lazy to scroll back up. Anyway, I just watched a local news thing on the tv about it just last week. Looked very interesting. I’m going to start… I just haven’t quite yet, but you are always there in the back of my mind.
So stinkin’ adorable!! Love the pink color!! 😉
Thank you so much for the great ideas. Even though most people don’t think we have winter in the south Memphis, TN is quite frigid right now. I always put gifts out for Mail delivery and garbage pickup at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then random times during the year. This is perfect for days in between. Thanks again. Yours is the one blog I never miss a day of reading.
congratulations! and if you buy the shoes…we want to see them~!
i need a winter coat too! not fun to shop for..at least for me!
This is super cute! I just new I should have kept those pink cups we didn’t use at the baby shower for my sis-in-law.
congrats on the major weight loss – I lost a similar amount of weight after my daughter was born and it was awesome. I’ve gained back about 12 of it but I’m fighting to get that back off too. I definitely need to work out more!
About low cal dessert ideas – the biggest way to cut calories is to not eat the crust on pies. I happen to love that part, but it is one of the most fattening parts. I also keep very few leftovers from thanksgiving – turkey is ok but all the other side dishes and sweets are not. It’s not worth all the extra hard work it will take to work it off later – so I usually throw it (it seems bad to push it off on others who have similar weight issues!).
Thanks for the idea. I will keep it mind for the next time I give a i.tunes gift card for christmas. I did a matchbox.
Amy
Great job on your weight loss! I lost 31.4 on Weight Watchers a couple of years ago. I wanted to tell you to check out http://www.hungrygirl.com. She’s got great recipes, tips & reviews products that are figure-friendly. Also, a tip for clothes-buying as you lose…thrift stores! I didn’t have a big clothing budget & also didn’t want to spend much on thngs I planned on getting too small for! So, I found a great local Salvation Army store. I got all name-brand things (that I wouldn’t have bought at a store full price) & many items still had tags on them! I’ve continued to shop there because you can’t beat it. I told my husband it’s like letting everyone else shop for me! I can just stroll in & find anything & everything together in one store. Keep up the good work & thanks, as always, for the inspiration! Happy Thanksgiving!
I have been enjoying your posts on weight loss (and the cards too!). I lost 50 lbs 7 years ago and have kept it all off since. I used WW and still log my eating when I need to. I also cook light and exercise 5 times a week…you have to if you want to keep it off. It’s a lifestyle change that will make the difference. I agree with you and the getting rid of your big clothes…there’s no turning back. AND…go and buy those shoes!! You deserve them and it’s one of the perks of losing weight! Clothes look great again!! It’s been one of my joys and I treat myself regularly! Way to go!! Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the pie!!
Cuuute Cocoa gift! And the gift card holder is really cute too!
Hee hee, congrats on the restraint, but I know what you mean, stewing over it days later. I *am* a shoe person but like you can’t quite justify it when my outing for the week is the grocery store…
Good for you on all the weightloss and changes and plans for Thanksgiving!
[…] Another fellow blogger placed an interesting blog post on Time to warm up-and more weightloss stuff – My Time, My Creations …Here’s a brief overviewI hope the many of you who have emailed me or replied about my weight-loss post have been diligent, and followed through with starting to work out. I *love* that cup idea and plan to make it for some of my friends this year – and hopefully none of them are reading this on your blog!
And thank you for your weight loss and exercise blogging. I think you’ve kick started a whole bunch of stampers! I lost 30 pounds on WW about this time last year and have kept it off. Now I need to go for another 30 and am mentally ready. Not sure why I took the break, but whatever. 🙂
This is an adorable gift set, Lauren!! I love it all!!
Bravo about your continued heathy lifestyle!! Your tips are great!
