Sorry for my lack of posting. I think we all know this is a CRAZY time of year. Add a dog to the mix and you have one crazy person! LOL! I am loving it though. I do wonder how I lived so long without my own dog. Yeah its only been 3 days! 😀
Since the Flu hit me I’ve been lacking on my blogging. My new excuse is my “night owl” for a puppy! This was my inspiration 😀
She really is UP ALL NIGHT. Except for the 2 hours I put her in my bed. Oh yes, she was comfy and cozy with her mommy. Daddy was NOT impressed! LOL! She cried so much she was coughing-c’mon people! I can’t be that harsh :C
I really want to thank you ALL for the advice and emails. Especially sharing YOUR stories. I have now got a bell hanging from the door-for potty time, and I am going to buy a clock. I put in a t-shirt I wore last night for her. I kept a nightlight on, played music EEEK!! Whatever I was told would work. Keep the advice a coming!
She is awesome with the crate thing during the day, but once we go to bed-OH NO! Not happening. No real potty accidents either. I gave her a bath and she was awesome! I never gave any animal a bath before. She smells SO good now. FYI dont get puppy shampoo near your eyes! YIKES!
Can I just tell you I am exhausted! Who would think a dog could bark ALL night? This little thing can make quite the bit of noise. Its pathetic, cause she is WAY cute, and just wants some lovin’s. Adjusting to life here I have barely gotten anything done-but don’t worry I got me some “PLANS”. That means great ideas that I will share -soon! This week is just beyond insane.
SO I hope you like this bright cheery-non Christmas card 😀 I have a TON to do before Amber’s recital and prepping for Santa’s visit!
I used the Oliver and Friends set. Sentiment is by SU!!
OH Thanks for sticking by me and reading. I’m also sorry I have hardly been online. I’m sure by next week I will have this all down pat 😀
Till tomorrow

You just couldn’t stand having your kids to the point where you could sleep all night, could you Lauren? You had to get yourself a DOG! And start all over again, lol! Been there and done that! Love your night owl card! Too cute.
Lauren,
Kathie is right…. it is just like having a newborn in the house again! I’m going to enjoy reading about your adventures. You made me chuckle with what you said about bringing Daisy to bed with you. Hey, if it gets you the sleep you need… 🙂 Don’t worry, you guys will all get into the groove before you know it!
Your card is so cute! I’m going to check out the rest of the set.
Hey, I have a question/advice for ya. I’m going to give you a jingle in the next day or so. It’s too long to write on here. Talk to you later.
Puppy Hugs,
Renee
Lauren, I have to laugh at your dog stories. We got my oldest son a lab-mix on his 5th birthday. He’s 11 now. Now my youngest son and I share the same birthday. We wanted a little dog. My DH couldn’t think of anything to get us for our birthday year before last so he broke down and let us buy our precious little dog, Ginger. We were looking for a Peki-Pom and wondered about her when we got her cuz she didn’t look like a Peki-Pom to me but my son wasn’t going to leave without her once he set his eyes on her. She was a lot of $$, too. Turns out she’s a Shih-Tzu…oh, well. Cute anyway and totally full of love. DH always said he’d never let a dog sleep on his bed. Guess who sleeps on the bed? haha
Your card is wonderful, its bright and cheery, I love it!
After the first few nights your sweet puppy will calm down and know that she is safe and loved, and hopefully stop crying in the middle of the night.
Good luck!
Love the card!
So sorry you’re not getting adequate sleep; but so happy for the REASON you aren’t getting enough sleep! Daisy is SOOOOO cute, and I hope you get her anxiety worked out really soon. You, of all people, need sleep! You do SO MUCH!!!
Have a great week…the recital sounds awesome, and the Santa visit??? TOO COOL! I’m so happy for you and the kids about that! It will be so fun for all of you.
Good luck with the puppy, I’m sure she will settle down soon!
yep – that’s why I told Nick we could have another baby OR a dog…well, you know how that turned out. 😉
I’m so happy for yuo, she really is a cutie pie. Hoping you all have a GREAT time tonight between the recital and the vist from Santa…how cool is THAT?
Hugs friend,
chat soon!
We have a cockapoo and this little guy is sooo co-dependent on “mommy”. I had problems w/ the crate at night too and then started putting the crate in our room for bedtime and puppy did much better-so I do have to drag it back and forth, but it keeps puppy from crying all night and wondering or ending up in our bed ;o)
Thank you for a wonderful blog-I just love what you share!
Heidi
Love your bright cheery card.
Sorry to hear that you’ve got the flu. I hope you’re back on your feet soon. Your card is really cute. Love the layout.
Hi Lauren! LOVE your blog! You are so cute about this dog! I have two “fur babies” myself, and they both sleep with me! DH has gotten used to it! I absolutely COULDN’T stand to hear them cry all night. They are spoiled, I have no good advice for you…except good luck!!
I don’t have a dog but I would suggest bringing the crate in your room and giving her the tee-shirt you wore that day to sleep on…but I think you already got that advice!! 😉 Good luck!
I’m so sorry that you’re sick. Your card is adorable!!!
Congratulations on your new puppy!!! I am a dog LOVER and can’t imagine life without a dog! I can tell by your post that you already feel it!! My motto is ~ “if you can’t make friends, buy them” ~ that being a dog!!! LOL!!! I am so happy for you!

Our mini-pomeranian Martin slept in his crate in our bedroom so he could be near us. But after about a year he just slept with us in bed. I was pregnant and Sean was working late and wanted a little someone to cuddle. Now it’s been 5 years and I couldnt imagine having him sleep anywhere else. Martin is less that 5 pounds so it helps a lot too, he’s very tiny. I just think you should do what’s right for you and your doggie and family, if it works and everyones happy dont worry about what a book says…..or other people!
bless you honey, puppies are worse than babies – lol
when my boxer was a baby, i put a small ticking clock in her basket and warm (not too hot) hot water bottle with a cover on to represent her mothers heartbeat and warmth, it did sort of work. Regarding the toilet training – i put newspaper closer to the backdoor over a period of time. Hope that helps or I’m not just repeating other stories.
Take care xxx
Really cute Lauren.
When my puppy (now 7 years old) first came home she slept on her bed, beside my bed at night (she is actually there right now). The first few nights I slept on my stomach with my arm down over the side of the bed. Whenever she started to whine all I had to do was give her a quick pat and a few quite words and she would go back to sleep. After about 3 nights (and a quick visit to the chiropractor for my back) she was mostly able to sleep with out crying. Still had to do the potty runs but she wasn’t crying anymore. Just needed to know that I was there. I never put her on my bed, of course I knew she was going to grow into an 80 lb dog someday and I would not have room for her. She was not in a crate long at all. We didn’t like it so we blocked off our laundry room and that became her space when we were away from the house until she was old enough not to tear the house apart. Good Luck. They are worth it. Great Card by the way.. -Molly B
Wonderful card Lauren. Have a good night !!
Wow, cute card Lauren! I LOVE those colours!! Awesome!
Good luck with the new pup, it is a trying experience but they are totally worth it. Love your card, so cute. By the way you’ve been tagged.
Oh Lauren…I’m just catching up after getting back from the funeral…and you got a DOG!!! I love it. I too am a mushy mom when it comes to those furry little guys…we were lucky..our pup slept throught the night since the very first night home…BUT…he is a terror during the day!!!
