Sorry I have been “pre-occupied”. I just have so much going on here, that I have hardly been online.
I so appreciate the warm thoughts, prayers and wishes for Alexa! She is doing great today-lots of emotional outbursts (gotta love steroids-and roid rage), but I can’t complain (OK maybe a little).
I stamped today, and was on a Yellow kick!
All I wanted to do was call this post YELLOW. Thats it-plain and simple.
I wanted to investigate WHY I am suddenly drawn to this color (since lately I have been in a pink and black mood). I am always drawn to pink, and that soft sky color. Also celery and chocolate. This was just not my norm, so I did a little “research”!
I thought I would share it with you as I found it all very interesting. Just Google your color.
I think I may research colors more often in my creations BEFORE I make them for specific reasons, since I may want to convey a certain feeling or message. It really is a cool idea.
After my research, and recent news I can see WHY I may have been a in a YELLOW mood.
So read on!
I also think its funny-Im a Taurus and my “color” is yellow. HMMMMM.
Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic color, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism

Hope and Happiness: Yellow is sunshine. It is a warm color that, like red, has conflicting symbolism. On the one hand it denotes happiness and joy but on the other hand yellow is the color of cowardice and deceit.
Nature of Yellow: Yellow is one of the warm colors. Because of the high visibility of bright yellow, it is often used for hazard signs and some emergency vehicles. Yellow is cheerful.
Culture of Yellow: For years yellow ribbons were worn as a sign of hope as women waited from their men to come marching home from war. Today, they are still used to welcome home loved ones. Its use for hazard signs creates an association between yellow and danger, although not quite as dangerous as red.If someone is yellow it means they are a coward so yellow can have a negative meaning in some cultures.
Now onto my YELLOW cards.
This first one is for a friend going through an emotional time. Its hard to be there for someone so far away.
I LOVE this sentiment.
I thought my friend could use a little card, to let her know I am thinking and praying for her and her situation. This will go postal tomorrow.
I LOVE the Elzybells images. I was about to come off my stamp spending probation when we got hit with the several hundred dollar vet bill :C So its back in effect.
Lynda was super sweet to send me several of these images, to tie me over.
This one came in handy!
I can’t buy MORE Elzybells till I use what I have more. BUMMER, I know.
I thought this girl was perfect for the situation, and message I wanted to send.
The moon sparkles, and so does the star, which was done using my SU! star punch (love that one! I heart stars). I love the girl hanging for the star.
The stamped stars are from Green Grass Stamps-Card Greetings (retired).
The little stars are Creative Card Candy Twinkle stickers by A Muse.
Next up-a super simple and under 10 minutes card.
YES! Another SU! sample! WOW!!!
This card was so super fast. It uses the Spring Solitude bundle.
It would have been faster if I didn’t add bling flower centers, and tie my ribbon trough the card the way I did.
I could have fiddled with it more, but decided to leave it be.
As busy and simple as it is, its kinda pretty with just these colors.
Made me happy. Even though I was SOOOOO tempted to add something to the top. Oh well. Maybe I should have left the ribbon off?
Anyway-I wanted to share it just the same.
Tune in tomorrow for our blogger’s challenge.
Kids School vacation starts too-OH BOY! That should be a fun week.
Thanks for checking in here again.
Till tomorrow.

Oh I love yellow except I don’t actually ever buy yellow cardstock since I don’t know what to do with it.
And I love the extra touch that the ribbon adds to the card! I say leave it on! But I’m such a ribbon junkie so not sure my opinion matters much. Haha.
Gorgeous cards!! I especially love the first one with all it’s sparkles!!
O.k. excuse my ignorance but I haven’t been following your blog for long – is Alexa your daughter? How old is she?? It breaks my heart to think of children going through these type of treatments although I know many of them have a better attitude about it than most adults! She will be in my thoughts and prayers!
I love the yellow card, it is gorgeous! I am a Leo and according to that chart my colors are golden yellow and orange which I seem to be drawn to alot, at least as far as stamping goes. I don’t wear those colors much but have been told that I look good in vibrant peach colors…hmmmm.
♫ ♪ … and they call it mellow yellow…. they call it mellow yellow ♪ ♫ ♪
Lauren – I’m so lovin’ the yellow! Your cards are delightful, as always! Love the Elzybells. She’s cute. Love the SU! one and kinda giddy that you’ve been using a bit of SU! lately.
Those were really interesting observations on the color yellow. I’m saving the website to my favorites to check out later. It would be interesting to note what color you’re using the most at any given time and have a clue as to why.
Big HUGS to you and Alexa. I’m still so happy for you. I do hope your friend that’s going through the hard time feels better soon or that her situation gets better.
Gotta run…. See you later!
Huggles
These are awesome! I was just saying today that I think Yellow is going to be hot this upcoming season! LOL
And if it speeds up the metabolism…um, what are we waiting for?!!!!!
Gorgeous cards! I love the spring solitude SU set! The yellow and black on the white card base is very dramatic! Love it! I hardly ever use yellow unless I am making a uni-sex baby card (barely banana), but I will definitley have to try this one out!
My sister has a lot of health problems, and I can remember her “roid rages” when she was on prednisone as a child! Not pretty:( My heart is with you and your family. This too, shall pass, and Alexa will be back to her sweet self soon!
I am a Taurus too…
and [lol ]…I made a Yellow card today also.
Not as Pretty as yours though…
I love the Elzybells images..always sweet and
adorable. I love the stars and the sparkle too!!
Adorable Card!!!
Your Sunny Days card may be simple…but
extremely Pretty…nice color mix. I love the way
that you attached the ribbon…”Clever”!!!!
Great Bling!!
Dee
These are great! Never thought about the color thing, pretty cool. I really like how the yellow looks.
When you can’t buy more stamps that’s a great way to get stuff, share images with others.
What technique did you use to color the sweet girls dress? Love the yellow, a great color I never think to use. Beautiful cards.
Oh the elzybells!!! I have not spent a single cent on ANY crafting items this month-GASP!!!! And it has been soooooo hard with the PTI and elzybells, I LOVE the spring and friendship line. So I feel your pain!!!
I love how you dangled the image from the star punch, so clever and cute! I really like the 2nd card, I think the ribbon should stay. And I am so suprised to see 2 SU cards within days of eachother! I think they are the first one’s I’ve seen since coming to your blog!
And the color stuff is interesting, huh? I went to an “extra” training school to work for a fancy shmancy spa to do color and chemical work. Anyway, we had to learn all about colors and their meanings and how they effect people. I was always warning my friends to not paint their nursery yellow because of the baby thing, lol! Only one didn’t listen and her daughter was a screamer!
I am a Taurus and yellow is a great color. Yellow and black… such a stunning combination.
Have a great day Lauren !!
Lauren – I LOVE that Elzy card! So super cute!
Your Elzybells card is so adorable! I love how you have her hanging from the star with the silver cord.
Love ’em both just the way they are! So soft and pretty!
These cards are beautiful, Lauren! I have a hard time using yellow but you’ve definitely inspired me!!
What wonderful cards you’ve made again Lauren. I was intrigued with the colors matching up with your astrological sign. My color according the chart is bright green; not one of my favorite colors! Although, my best friend isn’t a fan of pale blue or violet and those are her astrological colors, so maybe that’s why we’re such good friends! LOL!
I really like the Elzybell card you made because it’s just so sweet, but the other card is really striking. I love the way you tied the ribbon through the card!
Waow, and I was gonna paint the future baby’s room pale yellow!! (I hate yellow though…;-)…) now that I see baby cry more in a yellow room we’re might pick to something different!… 😀
I love your Elzybell card, so pretty and twinkling, I’m sure your friend will love it!♥
What a gorgeous card, Lauren! It’s so fresh looking! Love it!
If yellow speeds metabolism, do you think I would loose weight if I stared at the color all day? lol
I just love the Elzybell card. It’s adorable. I so want some of their new stamps!
I was wondering where you purchased you Stella Ruby paper, the prism or prismactic(spelling) I see that I don’t have any place in Nebr. to purchase it. I saw your card you used Stella’s paper and just fell in love with it. You really do a wonderful job with your card and web site. Thank you Charlene
love, love, LOVE these cards!
Well you certainly took yellow and made it fabulous! I love this Elzybells image and I can’t understand why I haven’t bought it yet? Crazy! Your card is just adorable! The design of the bird card is just fabulous! Great job on these!!
