Don’t think my husband is celebrating by the title of this post. The Patriots losing last night nearly KILLED him. Please pray for me. I have to deal with his misery ALL this week! LOL!
He even had a hard time falling asleep last night.
“I” on the other hand AM celebrating-the END of football season 😀
I truly don’t care about any of it. What I care about is beautiful, elegant, fun, cutesy andwhimsical images, that come in many forms- acrylic, rubber, ez-mount, un-mounted.Beautiful papers, and cardstock in every color of the rainbow with ink and ribbon to match. Throw in some buttons, brads, prima’s and glitter and I am in heaven.
So here is a card, that I think is so adorable. This set could also lend itself to baby. I see form my emails I am not the only one into baby stuff lately! LOL! Many of you are expecting or know someone else who is.
I LOVE versatility-so always try to see your images for use in many ways-
I ADORE Melanie’s set!
Its called Just so Hippy. Isn’t it just SOOOO cute.
She is having a contest—–>HERE, where you can enter to win her next stamp set. How cool is that?
So this is my entry!
It started with my ribbon-by Martha Stewart. Guava and chocolate. I needed a lighter neutral-blush blossom was perfect. I LOVE pink and brown, and this is a fun alternative to that combo.
My hippo was done by running blush card stock through my Fiskars heart plate. I stamped, then paper pieced my card stock over the stamped image (Yes, I did sponge the edges first). Punched a hole in the blush layer where the eye is, so the eye underneath can peek through. I stamped an oval under the image, and created grass.
The flowers are punches-also by Martha! The centers are just those vase beads, colored with Copic Markers.
In case you haven’t realized I LOVE my Martha anything, and use my Copic markers ENDLESSLY!!! An expensive, but oh so worthy purchase-I swear.
OK I am off to get the kids on the bus, and then I think Stamp Land is calling my name 😀
Till tomorrow-

Good luck Lauren! Your card is totally adorable!!
sorry am a Giant Fan and am estatic today. Love your adorable hippo with the hearts on his but, too cute.
this is TOO cute, Lauren!
Coming out of lurkland today to tell you that your hippo card is adorable. I love how you added that extra texture to the hippo – your attention to detail is amazing. I love the fresh and clean look to the card. Even though I loved watching the game last night (yay – Giants!) and sports in general, I love how you just speak whatever is on your mind on your blog, you type like you’re having a conversation! 🙂 Love that extra dimension on top of your awesome work. Hope you have a great Monday! 🙂
I have to say I’m a Pats fan too. Oh well, it is after-all only a game. Red Sox baseball is just around the corner. I know, still just a game but I get really crazy over Sox baseball….. Back to stamping. This card is super cute. That hippo cracks me up every time. I love those flowers and the vase beads are such a cool find. Thanks for sharing -Molly B
Hey there…super cute hippo! Love her, the embossed hearts are perfect!
My condolences to Jason…I on the other hand, had a very happy hubby last night…but I know he would have been the same way as Jason had it been the other way around…I don’t *get* how they can let a game affect them so…
I think there are more people in my town that read your blog…M’s had hardly ANY of those vase beads…no clear ones for sure…better luck next time I guess….
I spent some time in stampland last night, and will likely be there every night this week, between stuff I HAVE to do, for SIL’s baby shower this weekend, to things I WANT to do 🙂
Have a happy day!!!
Oh my gosh! You embossed the hippo. I love it.
This is just too cute, Lauren! I LOVE his embossed bum! Too funny!
This is a great card. Sorry to here your husband is so sad. However on this end we are super psyched. My husband couldn’t sleep from the excitement! He is just besides himself today, trying to plan on going to the ticker tape parade tomorrow. I was never a sports fan till but this was a pretty awesome win. (sorry 🙂 )
I have a ques for you.. are u still an active SU demo?
I love his cuddlebug behind…Sorry to your week…i am sure it will be no fun..with him pouting..but hey no football..
very cute card. I really love this one. The colors make it for me. SO pretty! Sorry about the Pats. I do like watching football and sports with my hubby, however if the Vikings ever make the Superbowl and lose…I will have to move! My husband would be unbearable. Pouting and crabby and all that fun stuff, so I understand. They eventually get over it though…EVENTUALLY!!
I heart this so much!!! Thanks for the bottoms up on the contest!! 😉
Guess what!!! I was looking on the skor-pal site to make a box for my kid’s valentine gift from me and I ran across this!!

This card is just toooo cute!! Love how you used string for the tail 🙂 CB BG is great for this too.
As for the football, I must say I do enjoy watching a good game and this was one of the better Super Bowl games – i.e. not a blow out. Lots of tension, good plays and shhhh….don’t tell your hubby we were cheering for the Giants and were thrilled Eli Manning could come out from under his big brother’s shadow and get a Super Bowl ring. Actually amazing to think they won back to back Super Bowls — quite the talented family. Sorry….rambled on about a subject you don’t like!!! At least I like to talk about cards too 😉
This is such a cute card, love that hippo. Congrats on the big PTI news. Your creations are always so inspiring. Best of luck.
LOL – I had my coffee and I now realize that ‘you’ weren’t entering a contest but telling ‘us’ of one! Sorry about that!
Well, I must have missed my flight to ‘Stamp Land’ but I did visit Vacuum Land, Laundry Land, Dust Land, Windex Land, Ironing Land, oh and not to forget my all time favorite, Bill-paying Land. 🙂
Happy Hugs,
Renee

So cute!! I love the little thread on the tail and the texture is super cool! You’ll have to post again how to use the fiskars plate in the cuttlebug, please, please, pretty please… 🙂 (or link to the post where you explained it, LOL!)
Just a suggestion for Jason . . get him to read Joan’s blog, Paperlicious . . maybe he’ll feel better about the Patriots not winning!
