Boy did Noah ever SCREAM when they yanked his poor tooth! OUCH!
I guess they ONLY gave him the laughing gas! GRR! I thought they’d numb it with Novocaine at LEAST. Poor kid.
Tooth Fairy gave him $10 for being so brave 😀 He still loves the dentist though-CRAZY KID! LOL!
That being said I’m still pretty crazy busy here, so Im keepin this short and sweet.
I’ve been REALLY tired an lazy (in exercise department) the past 2 or 3 weeks. I haven’t given a “pep talk” in a while and this is more for ME than YOU!! Unless YOU find it helpful too-then YEAH! Win! Win!!
So SADLY I realized I have been getting addicted to the FREE Turbo Shot in my ice coffee! Can’t function well without it. Im certain that is NOT good. So this week I decided to SHOCK my system, and cut coffee out of my HEALTHY living, and get my hiney BACK ON TRACK!!! I had a little lapse there since all the sweet treats on my birthday, and need to put a stop to it now! Remember I promised myself to NEVER let myself outgrow the jeans I’m in! I work too hard to let my love of all naughty food sabotage me and all my hard work! NO WAY!
Now don’t get me wrong, they still fit (my jeans that is), but if I want some REAL 6 pack abs, I need to work hard, and get on track. So thats what Im doing. Im “re-setting” my calendar for week one. I keep track of how many weeks I have been living my “healthy lifestyle” and after it being 41 weeks (a pregnancy term! LOL!) I decided to set NEW goals, and start over. REFRESH everything, to keep it interesting. So back to WEEK ONE of new refreshing goals. Fresh start! TODAY is the day.
Its all about healthier choices. Take it ONE obstacle at a time, and just say NO! to Girl Scout cookies 😀 Opt for the donation for the box you buy to go to out Soldiers instead of YOUR goody cabinet 😀
That also means drinking lots more water, less other stuff-like HUGE ice coffees, and NO snacking after dinner!! Unless its popcorn or fruit if you really ARE hungry. And make sure you are eating because you are hungry, NOT because you are bored or EMOTIONAL! Oh and if you got for ice cream with the kids-get a KIDDIE size, and try to make it LOW fat 😀
Jay has been getting steroid shots in is back and his after dinner binging is affecting ME! So that is it for me—-> NO MORE!!! He is usually a very healthy eater, and that really helps when you need support or someone to keep YOU on track. When they fall off, don’t let them take you with them, you need to be THEIR support instead.
Keeping healthy snacks on hand is KEY, along with fresh fruits and veggies. With summer near its much easier to do. I love snacking on snap peas! They are sweet and yummy and replace the CHIPS I love (for some reason salt and vinegar are my downfall these days) NOT GOOD.
So I did a video today-Turbo Jam-I hadn’t in a LONG time and boy did it kick my hiney!! OUCH! I did the Turbo Sculpt 40 minute workout today. But hey-SORE is good! The fact I can’t get out of a chair or sit down, without pain, means Im workin lazy muscles-GO LAUREN! Breaking a huge sweat-even better! I think after a good workout you FEEL great, and don’t want to eat those Salt and Vinegar Chips that stare at you when you open the cabinet! I moved the bag out of sight so I don’t think about them
I REALLY think I want to get Wii Fit! What are YOUR thoughts on that??
Anyone?? I need to keep my interest since I am a SAHM to 3 kids and the ONLY way I can get a workout in is at home. I need to keep motivated and FRESH. I LOVE buying myself clothes so that definitely keeps me motivated-the whole I like this shirt, its in my size, and Im buying it! Then I take it home and it looks great 😀 Makes every ache and pain worth it. Plus I know its good for my overall healthy, and it sets a good example for my kids-who KNOW I need to do my workout before THEY get to play Wii or do anything else for that matter.
OK who cares about my workout issues. Sorry for that painful detour. It just helps me keep focus.
MOVING ON……
I have a mini peek at another ATS set called Oh! Baby-pardon the mojo lapse. This was made on the return of the mojo-but figured I’d share anyway
little bug:
I just LOVED this little “bug” image/baby from the set. I just got some ladybug paper, so I used it. This set will be released June 1st (Monday)
Amber’s shirt matched my card so I made her hold it for my photo! LOL! Im so lazy with my photo tent set up these days! Its just easier and quicker to go outside.
Now to me, it looked like the baby bug was flying to the flower-then I realized-Um, no wings! Oh well! Its cute anyway. No one claimed I was perfect! LOL! I like it-period
SOOO if you want a chance to win the set, and see peeks—->Go to the BLOG!
I can PROMISE my samples got better with the rest of the peeks to come! LOL!
Well I hope you have a happy and healthy day-no matter what you do!

Good for you to nip things in the bud! 🙂 It’s hard, I know! I started slipping backwards too and am trying to stay firm! Good luck to you. PS. Cute card, that little “guy” is adorable! 🙂
Super cute card…I love that baby! I totally understand how easy it is to fall off the wagon…I’m back on and away I go…yay! I started a new rotation with my Transfirmer so I should see results fairly quickly…such a motivator!
Hey! I did the Turbo Jam 40 Minute Sculpt today too! Things have finally clicked for me and exercising is becoming a habit again. I’ve dusted off my Turbo Jam DVDs and I get up an hour early every morning to fit in one of the workouts or go to the gym or do a Walk Away the Pounds workout. I like to mute that woman and put my iPod on with my workout playlist. I find myself dancing more than walking, which means I’m using more muscles and burning more calories than I would just walking. I look like a moron, but it’s fun!
It is sooo easy to fall off the wagon, but you’ve got the right mindset – you can do it! Thanks for this post today – I’ve got my 10th high school reunion coming up next weekend and I’m trying to be super good with exercising and eating so I can go and feel proud. I still have about 30 pounds to lose (obviously not by next week!), but I’m off to a good start! You are totally my stamping idol, so I’m getting such a kick out of having done the same workout as you today! Yay for Turbo Jam!
Cute card! I would definitely get the wii fit. Your whole family will love it plus it gets them moving! There is yoga, running, step aerobics, and lots more.
Lauren,
Good for you for knowing when enough is enough. I need to borrow some of your pep talk for myself.
The Wii Fit is good.
I am eyeing an new EAFitness for Wii Fit. It was on the Ellen Show and I heard about it. I have a friend who just got it and is going to review it for me.
I’ll let you know.
Em
Thanks for the Pep talk. I needed it too. I actually made the same decision today. I walked to work (about 30 minutes) and I have plans to work in my garden today after work.
I think you should buy the Wii fit. I *LOVE* mine. The games are fun, and some of the yoga and strength poses are kicking my butt.
WOW, Woman! 🙂 You are awesome! 🙂 I may have to go get some exercise videos…I never thought of those…I have been a SAHM for YEARS and the weight has come on slowly, but it is here and I always feel it is here to stay….I love your inspiration on this and I am gonna try. 🙂
Thanks so much Lauren, and the card was so sweet! 🙂
I LOVE TURBO JAM!!! 🙂 Do you have Total Body Blast (the ball work out) I LOVE that one too!! 🙂
I too am BACK on track.. working towards goal!! NO CHIPS NO CHIPS NO CHIPS! LOL!!
LOVE the cute card by the way!!
have a GREAT day!
Way to get back on the wagon BEFORE your jeans didn’t fit anymore!!!! I think we all have periods of time when we go on those couple week “binges” but we all need to pat ourselves on the back for simply realizing the bad pattern and then turning it around before we need to dig out the “fat jeans” we all have in the back of the closet. I personally think it’s just as hard during the summer months as winter because of all the ice cream tempations and the summer cookouts and kids home from school wanting snacky stuff! I’d recommend getting Chalene’s fitness ball DVD’s if you don’t have them already. The Total Body Blast is a killer but SO effective!! Good luck! Melissa
I too am saving for a WII fit, and very excited that I am almost there…..I’ve bought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred on your advice and I love it. All of this is to keep me at the size I am now, I too am not getting back into my ‘fat clothes’.
Good luck, Tanya
If you want a 6 pack I would suggest P90X that workout will kick your butt and get you into some serious shape. I have been doing it and it is hard! I have been wondering about the Wii Fit myself, I can’t wait to see what everyone says about it!
Lauren,
I had to bookmark your original posts about your weight loss because you and I are the same age, have the same amount of children and weigh about the same. I went back to college (and just graduated 2 weeks ago!!!) and noticed over the 5 years it took me that I was gaining weight. So, I am at my all-time high and need to get back to my pre-college weight!
I started working out 2 days ago. I am on day 3 today. I was silly and started with Jillian Michael’s 30 day Shred…DUMB! I am sooooooo SORE, just like you. I can barely walk. But, I have to admit, after 3 days I am starting to feel better!!! I am hoping to see some results within a couple of weeks (meeting with old high school friends in July).
I was excited to see your post today about your weight inspirations again today. It couldn’t have come at a better time!
We do have Wii Fit. I really like a lot of the activities on there and have found myself out of breath on many of them. The one thing I found to be a negative is the “sit time” while you are switching from one activity to another. You can repeat an activity though, so you don’t necessarily have to have sit time. The Yoga positions ARE TOUGH…well, some of them. I don’t think you will regret it.
The one major thing we LOVE about Wii Fit is that the WHOLE family spends time on it. We compete with each other to keep the high score. So, it entices the kids to be active as well!
Let us know if you get it and what you think. I am soooooo thankful that I have you on here to use as an inspiration.
Jody
Hey Lauren! The wii fit is pretty good, but if you want a SUPER workout get the EA Sports Active game for wii (it’s brand spanking new!). It has a lot more options and allows you to work harder workouts. It is compatible with the board that comes with the wii fit, though. This game is what Alyson (sp?), the hose of Biggest Loser, used to take off her baby weight!
Thanks to your awesome posts I too have started getting healthy. I’m not so good at making time to do it so I’ve been going to the community center where I work to get it done. Right now I do yoga once a week and circuit training once a week (plus chasing kids around the rest of the day- LOL). It’s starting to make a difference!
Anyway I’ve been pesting my family to get me Wii Fit for quite a while. Never got it…. but the reviews are better now for the new game EA sports (like other posters said) plus it’s $30 cheaper. Hoping hubby will pick it up for me for my bday. It’s only a few weeks away:)
Good luck!
PS. Love your card (I always love everything you make)!
Oh, Lauren, I can so relate to the diet/exercise thing you’re going through. I was doing so well for several months. My biggie rule was no eating after 7 p.m. Well, I kind of fell away from that this week so I know it’s time to recommit. Thanks for being an encourager for me!
I have some health issues right now that my neurologist has said no strenuous exercise. That is a bummer for me ’cause I know the exercise really helps in feeling fit and keeping the weigth down.
Thanks for your inspiration both healthwise and creative wise!

Congratulations on being so disciplined. I have the “want”, but not the “will” power. I have the Wii Fit and it is fun (and humiliating) and would probably be more helpful if I used it on a regular basis. I am hoping to get the Wii Active next month. I think (think being the operative word) that I will use it more.
What an adorable card and image!! Thanks for the pep talk, I really needed that.
Lauren I always love your pep talk posts because it gets me motivated! I’ve fallen off the wagon the last few weeks and have just vowed to get back on and then read this post.
We have the Wii Fit and it’s good for me since I’m out of shape. It’s also great for the whole family to do, so your kids would probably enjoy it. I don’t know though if the workouts would really be enough for you since you are farther along in the fitness path. Maybe the new EA Sports game for the Wii Fit would be better for you? Let us know what you decide!
Thank you for the “pep talk” I am among the many who needed it! I have Wii Fit and while I enjoy it I tend to use it on days when I want a lighter workout. I do not find the positions challenging nor do I break a sweat when playing the games. This is strictly a personal opinion though. Some people love it and swear by it. Since you already do a pretty strenuous workout, as do I, you might want to search the internet to see just how much you will get out of it.
I found a review that was pretty accurate. One downfall is that you can’t move from one pose to another without waiting for the game to walk through it’s paces. So you pick a trainer and the trainer walks you through all the exercises the first time you perform them. Once a pose has been performed the trainer provides some information, then you are provided with your stability number, your time is ‘banked’ and then you can choose the next exercise or pose to perform. So there is a bit of waiting between exercises. Just something to consider.
While I was typing this information for you my dh called and said he bought the EA Sports game today so I’m anxious to try it out!
Good luck with your decision!

Lauren I hear ya on the workout thing! Your posts got me to get up and start working out to lose my 24 lbs of nastiness before bathing suit time! I’m on week 3 and have lost 6 lbs and do ALL my workouts at home too (not a gym gal)–I love lifting weights, run on my treadmill & do the kettleball cardio workouts (try them & u will love them). I also do Pilates twice a week with video & bands. I bought the Wii Fit & love it–its fun but I also got the EA Fitness to go with it–that burns a ton of calories!! So You Go Girl & I’ll be sore right along with ya, LOL!
hugz,
Suzanne
I know a lot of ppl who buy the wii fit and they love it when they get it. They play on it for hours, then suddenly, it gets all dusty & no one uses it anymore. The novelty wears off. However, I find playing DDR (dance dance revolution) really fun & it gives you an awesome workout. You can play by yourself or with someone else. Hope this helps you stay on track! P.S. chips is my addition too! lol!
You crack me up! I love that when you type I feel like I’m listening to you sit right there next to me! I applaud your tenacity in not undoing all your hard weight loss work. I agree that having healthy snacks ready to eat is a key. I am losing baby weight now. My youngest (and last) of three is 5 months old. I have been throwing away clothes I don’t fit anymore as soon as I drop into the next size down so that I am not at all tempted to get lazy. When I need to get motivated to keep dropping weight and I’m really not feeling like it, I try on clothes. Even though I’ve lost a lot, I’m still not close to my goal weight so trying on clothes is still something I hate to do. It reminds me that I’m still working at it and why. Then I feel motivated again.
Cute card Lauren! You’ll be happy to know that I started working out with a trainer this week. I’m starting out 2 times a week, then when school’s out I’m gunning for 3 times a week! I did 200 crunches today on the exercise ball, and I have to tell you I’m so SORE! This is a small fitness place in my neighborhood and the trainer grew up with my hubby. He provided me with a diet to follow too. That’s going to be more difficult than working out! But hubby said he’ll help (he cooks more than I do during the week). So I’ll keep you posted…we can sweat together!
I love my wii fit…I just bought the extender step platforms for it to make it a little more challenging…I also have been using 3 lb. weights when I do the step exercises…That being said I just bought the my fitness coach for the wii and it ROCKS…I try to do both everyday have a wedding in July that I don’t want to have to buy a new outfit for LOL…Good luck!
I like my wii fit, but after a few weeks I got really bored with it. It wasn’t enough of a workout for me so I bought the game, “Golds Gym Cardio Workout” and I LOVE it!!! It’s so much fun and it really gets me sweating!!
Thanks… I needed that! Great “pep talk” and perfect timing. As far as the Wii Fit, if at all possible, try one out first. As others have said, it’s not as challenging for someone at your fitness level as other workouts. The transitions between the strength exercises seem slow, and it becomes somewhat of a bother to get it out, set it up, get going, etc. I think I heard some new things may be coming out soon that will make it more useful.
On the other hand, the balance board is a great weigh-in device and it helps you set and track your weight goals. I find it more useful in the winter months when it’s too cold to be outside.
lauren, I have EAactive. We also have the wii fit, which you don’thave to have for the Ea active. I think for you with your fitness you may like the EA active better. It has a resistance band and you can track food/diet/exercise. It is more like a personal trainer. I committed to the 30 day challenge, which is with Bob Greene, but I also want to do Jillian 30 day shred again, but that will have to wait. In some ways she is worse, but in other ways the EA active is just as hard if not harder.
Lauren – I have the Wii Fit and really like it – BUT – it depends on what you are looking for. The downside is that you have to stop and start with each exercise that you do – you cannot program it to run for a certain amount of time. So, for me, a 40 minute workout on the Wii Fit could take almost an hour to do with selecting each part that you want to work. As an example, I love doing the Step aerobics – but the advanced setting only runs for 5 minutes. I wish I could set it for a 15 or 20 minute workout. They have a free step, but there is no routine – you just do whatever you want – and it runs for I think 10 minutes. The Wii Active just came out – it has different levels and I think may be a better fit for you just given what you have shared in the past about your workouts. I don’t have the Active – just have heard about it.
Ok – moving on to your card – this card is SO cute! I didn’t realize there were no wings either til you pointed it out. I had the same impression you did that he was flying toward the flower.
Lauren- Way to go on getting back on track. Your comments are good for all of us! I am 7 pounds away from my goal weight and I have 8 weeks to lose them before my husband returns. Thanks for the pep talk.
As for Wii fit- it is fun and even my kids like it, but it does not work you out very hard. It sounds like you are a woman that works out at a higher level, so you may want to try the new EA or My Personal Trainer (also a wii). Personal trainer is cheap- a plus- the only down side is that you cannot pause and restart it, but it adjusts to fit what you want to work on that day and what intensity level is best for you each day. I really like it.
As for stamping, I love everything you do and enjoy all the videos and tutorials. Thanks for inspiring us!
Blessings!
good for you for recognizing when its time to get “back in the game”
i have also been considering the wii fit, so please let me know if you do decide to purchase how it works for you
i am completing week 3 of the hcg diet and its going pretty well – should be at about 8 pounds this week – yippeee
have a great weekend
good pep talk! I always tell myself “you’ll gain weight after 8!” and it helps to curb my love of cereal before bed!!!! But i need to get better about the excersize. I’ve lost all the weight I gained during pregnancy so thats good… but i’m flabby! I dont like being flabby! SO i’m on board with you! 🙂
You go girl!!! I love your blog and hearing about your life ..
I went through a huge weight loss ,excersized, had so much self control and then we went on vacation!!! Sadly so did my diet and excersize routine.. still smaller than iwas but just not motivated yet.I need to find the right outfit that looks good but would be better if it was smaller!!kwim. anyhow have a great day .Keep up the great work Lauren!
You go girl! Have some exercise for me too! 🙂 I still fail to see what’s wrong with the sample though. It looks perfectly fine to me. Keep up the great stamping too.
Two Things:
1. I LOVE your card – My husband is a Shriner and he rides in the little cars in parades – the group is called the Scarabs … and the wives are called Lady Bugs!! I MUST KNOW where you got the Lady Bug Paper, cause i have to stock up!
2. Yesterday I decided it was time to get my butt in gear and do something about my weight. I have gained 100 pounds since my college days and it’s not healthy for my body or my spirit. Nothing cute fits me off the rack, because at 244 pounds, I am a plus size and designers seem to think that all big girls want to dress frumpy and matronly. So I am sick of it and I have decided to make the change!! My short term goals are to loose at least 45 pounds and be under 200…I’ll make new goals from there.
I would Love it if you keep up with your progress posts and I think that I may start a line of posts on My blog to keep me accountable too!! Great idea! Thanks for the inspiration!
I am in no shape to start in with a 40 min workout, but I found theses awesome workout DVD’s at Walmart that are 10 Minutes – I did the first one yesterday and it was enough to make me break into a sweat and it was FUN!!
Here is a link to check them out – I did the ,a href=”http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10848210″>10 Minute Solution Fat Blasting Latin Dance Mix,/a> and it was so fun – and even I can keep up with 10 minutes a day!!
I have the blast off Belly Fat too, but I have not given that one a go yet.
Good luck to you!!

Hey Girlie! Thanks for the pep talk and sharing that you struggle. We all do and I guess it’s better to keep struggling that to quit altogether right? You are awesome! One of these days when you are doing a pep talk, would you please share WHEN you work out? That seems to be the biggest struggle for me right now….the “when”. It has to be a when I can make an excuse to get out of. Any tips would be appreciated 🙂 You are a doll!
And your lady bug baby card is adorable…loved your backdrop!
Lauren,
I so needed that pep talk! I have always been small, but after 9 years on steroid for my RA, it finally caught up with my last year. I am buting the wii fit myself this week, I have used a friends and really love it. Also starting a 5:30 AM workout with a friend called boot camp for 2 days a week on Monday!
Good luck to you and thanks for the inspiration…all the way around!
This is fabulous! Love the fresh, clean, summery colors :O) Soo cute!
HI LAUREN!
WELL, THAT DENTIST IS AN ANIMAL!!!!! HE SHOULD

It’s really great post. I would like to appreciate your work and would like to tell to my friends.
This is another fantastic blog post what I have read. There are so many tools available that it becomes difficult to know which will work. And how best to use them.
