Simply Priceless-CHALLENGE!

Aug 5, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

simple piece

WOW! Why doesn’t a weekday go by as fast as a weekend day?

I have SO much I am working on its insanely awesome! I can’tshare alot of it right now-but all in time. You can see my new biography HERE and check in to see some of my reports for the Craft Critique, each month.

This was an extremely simple card I did just for YOU! I really wanted to have a post today, and since we had Amber’s 3rd b-day party ALL day I quickly whipped this up for YOU!

Our time is priceless, as is each creation we make with our stamps.

You are all “so kind” with all you share with me and taking the time to comment or email me. I truly appreciate all of it. I love keeping up with my blog-and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

That being said, I hope this encourages YOU to see that not every card has to be layer upon layer. OR That it has to have an amazing color combo to be great or stand out.

Sometimes we dont have time to do all that, and the beauty of giving our art to someone is that it is just that-every piece- ART. And weather it took 6 minutes (like this card) or over an hour, it will be appreciated just the same.

It would take longer to go get in the car to buy a card then to make one!

CHALLENGE PART

In 10 minutes or less! Create a card.

I hope you will go stamp a SIMPLE card using black and white or another simple combo-weather its a monochromatic look or one color and white/black. Whatever-keep it simple and under 10 minutes.

Link it here so we can all see what you do!

I know how long this card took because it was a commercial break, and then a tiny bit into the segment! I always look at the clock too before I start just to see HOW long it took.  It would have been less if I hadn’t cut the flower, and could have got those jewels to stick the first time! LOL!

I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Tomorrow I will have an altered item to share-YEAH!

sketch 8

I thought it would be fun to show a little versatility in this weeks sketch. Wow these weeks just fly.

So I decided to make 2 cards for it! Each style is totally different! One is a guy card, and the other is a GROOVY card.

NOTE: If you would like to view the thumbnail-click on it to enlarge.

To the Left, to the Right. Gotta love my long winded titles! I cant helpo myself. I want to give you a mega hint as to whats in my ramblings. SO……………..Thats what I like to call this one. WHY? Because we are TILTING the main image to the left-but placing it on the right. I think its cool. Its not often we TILT our images, so challenge yourself OK.

Mr Fix It

mr fix it Here is Fixafella.

AmyR is the bestest! She sent me some Fella’s :D. Wasnt that sweet? Now I have 3 of them.

Anyway, I made this for my hubby to thank him for making me my stamp room! He deserved a SPECIAL card for all his hard work. So I did my best to make him look like Jason. He of course would never be caught dead in over-alls. He works in much more sexy attire-no shirt and dirty jeans.

So I stamped, colored, and sponged away. The bkgd on the Kraft cardstock is the ruler image wheel my SU! Not sure what its called anymore! First time using it! LOL! I also used it on the yellow to make a “measuring tape” type of image.

I got the screw brads at Oriental Trading year ago. I also used Power Up by SU! for the wrench, and the cord. The sentiment is from Just So Sayings (see my cut up set) which was my feeling about my room. I really thought that the twill tape was a perfect guy style “ribbon”.

I was quite pleased with this and it KILLED me to actually write in it! LOL!

Now onto one of my most favorite sets in the WORLD! Alexa’s Set. In case you have been living under a rock (wink) that is a set that was designed for my daughter by Missy B. All proceeds benefit Pediatric Leukemia and Lymphoma. It was designed based on Alexa’s most cherished toy Groovy Girls. Upon linking that I just realized I need to go shopping. We need more! Alexa only has over 50! And we have yet to get any of the new ones! GASP!

Anyway-so I used this sketch to make a GROOVY Girl card-

groovy girl

I started with the FUNKY cool paper by SEI called Hippie Chick-How PERFECT! So I basically just went with it. colored with my Copic markers, attached some ribbon, and of course a flower! Added the PERFECT sentiment by A Muse and DONE! I really love the Alexa groovy girl image cause you can seriously use her with any funk-tified color combo! I totally love this combo on this, and this layout ROCKS! LOL! Seriously try it.

Now, as always, f you try it out, sendme the link here. Im sure ALL the readers would love to see what YOU do!

Hope you LIKEY!

Three

Aug 3, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: My family stuff, Uncategorized

amber 3 This is Amber. I love this photo. It was taken the other day while she was “deep in thought”. What does a soon-to-be 3 year old think of? So serious.

I cannot believe she will be THREE. Time flies so quickly.

When I envision Angels this is the face I see. I really think she looks like one.

Blue eyes, long eyelashes, and curly blonde hair.   full 3

My BABY. Growing up. I know this is the face I will see even at 20. Where does the time go?

Just wanted to share these 2 photos. I LOVE them. I may even get inspired to make a altered frame for them.

Sweet Blossoms of Sympathy

Aug 2, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

blossoming

Here is another card using the vine image/flowers from Its Elemental. Today is the LAST day to get FREE shipping!! Cool deal.

I made this sympathy card for my great Aunt who is 82! She lost her “friend” Gus last week. He died having surgery on his gallbladder. So sad.

I wanted a SOFT yet cheerful sorta card-if that makes sense! LOL! Im just extatic that I didnt use a butterfly image-but dont think it didnt cross my mind! 😀

So, I stamped the vine on Kraft cardstock, in choc. chip, and the leaves in caramel. I used a versamagic ink for the flowers. To add to the softness I punched some vellum flowers with my EK Success flower punch (just like SU), and put some Saworvski Crystals in the center. I I stamped a vellum layer with my dotted image called Behind the Scenes (really love that set) with craft white. Added to the softness I think.

Used some double sided May Arts satin ribbon, and stamped the button image. Sentiment is also MFT and is called Lotsa Love.

I hope it cheers her up a little bit.

Thanks for looking!

Off to stamp for some deadlines and do more cleaning for preparation for Amber’s Party! She will be 3 on the 13th but we always celebrate the first weekend in August cause it is our town Annual Hot Air Ballon Rally.

She is having a DORA themed party SAME as last year!!! I tried to get her to choose something else but it was a NO GO!

Oh well.

Check back tomorrow for more stuff. I got 2 cute Fella’s that will be visiting! (wink) Thanks to my friend AmyR.

    Lizzie Love-

Aug 1, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Well Tricia is giving away a Lizzie Anne Designs stamp set called Gettin Hitched! GO enter HERE!

I LOVE that set yet realized I hadn’t really used it much!

So, in honor of her giveaway I made this card!~

    love Lizzie Love

I used todays Sketch challenge 135  to inspire this card. I have to say I LOVE it. I went with blue cause I was thinking “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” and VOILA! Here you get this card!

The base, and cake image were done using Shimmery White cardstcok. C’mon you cant NOT use shimmery white on a Wedding card! Cake was colored with myCopic markers, then popped out with my Giga Scallop Oval punch

Used my cuttlebug stylized embossing folder, and Filled Hearts folders for this.

Tied around some wide white organdy ribbon with some elegant Tiffany fiber and was done! This card took 10 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO! Now that is my type of wedding card!

Maybe I should send to to Tricia? Happy Anniversary!

Next up-more dirty challenges! This one fits Jody’s brad challenge, and Shel9999 distress challenge.

Basically I was inspired by my Basic Grey Infuse cardstock. Jolies Fleurs (also lizzie anne) was PERFECT!!!!!

    basic grey la

I basically stamped, colored (copics again) and did the DTP technique (my tim holtz inks) till I had this look. Really was pretty simple.

Added the sentiment on vellum. Added some copper brads-which I LOVE using copper with browns and these colors, and DONE!

    Next up. Moccachino

moccachino Ok you all know how much I LOVE coffee! Well I sketched this out-and it was one of those ideas that worked better on paper! LOL! I still like it, but I dont LOVE it! KWIM? So I plan on re-doing this sketch. We shall see!

This is the Latte cup/sentiment also Lizzie Anne.

    Enjoy the day!

Back to the birds. Im totally in LOVE with SU! Autum Flowers paper. A  MUST HAVE!!! It inspired this card.

I used my markers to color the image. Stamped it on my white cardstock, then punched out with my Giga Scalloped Circle. Love these colors-sky, saharah sand, turq.  and olive.

Used the scalloped corner image on my corner, then used my singlo pen to make the dots.

I continued the scalloped look at the top if my side panel, and added some white dotted ribbon as well.

Sentiment is also MFT. Its from Simply Said set.
