Happy Saturday!
Today is a big day here in Pittsfield-its our town Annual Hot Air Balloon Rally. SORRY this is a bit later than planned. I have been busy. Its a big event here, and in walking distance from our house! I look forward to it every year. A great family weekend. I usually KILL myself doing Amber’s birthday party this weekend but since she is getting older, and has friends we won’t do the family party this year. We are having a friend party in Sept. after she returns to school.
We will still celebrate her birthday, ON her birthday, just not this weekend. The balloon rally makes me sad because summer is almost over :C That is a huge bummer.
So let’s get ot the sketch!
WOW! Was I ever overwhelmed with emails from those who volunteered to do my Saturday Sketches!! Thank you!! With so many willing, I hope more of you will join in, in trying them You don’t have to be listed here to get in on the fun. Just send us a link here in the comments section and people will be able to check our your take on the sketch.
I want to also let you know that the other girls who will be sharing their versions on Sketch day are now on my sidebar! So make sure you check them out!!

This week I made 2 cards. They aren’t EXACTLY like the sketch, but the point is a starting point.
Here is Cabana Cupcake
I had fun making this one. I don’t ever round corners!! But it was a nice change. I was inspired by the rounded frames in the set I used for the sentiment called- Hello My Name Is . It was a fun way to put the focus on a sentiment 😀
I LOVE this funky little cupcake (OK big cupcake) from the Mini Party Cupcakes. I like that there were 3 sizes to choose from, and this one was perfect. I decided to do some paper piecing with the Canbana papers, (I know “cabana” not your typical thought when you think yummy cupcakes), but I like it. I got the brads to match.
Me, loving sentiments, had to get circle words. There are so many fabulous sentiments AND little images to put in the center. Way cute. Used a decorated clear button for the center of this one.
Lots going on in this PARTY card, but it was a fun challenge. So since I had so much fun with the sketch I went with another one.
The Road to a Friends House-
How cute is she? I have been DYING to play with my Bella’s for SO LONG! It’s been too long actually. The coloring was inspired by Bethany’s card. I just LOVED how she colored a portion of the bkgd. Pure genius!!!
I gotI-wish-i-looked-so-good-riding-a-bike-ABELLA from my dear cyber friend Sonia! I loved that Bella!!! Sonia was so sweet to send me some goodies, and this was one of them! THANK YOU!! Your thank you is coming soon, I promise!!
So for my Bella I used Sweet blush cardstock as my base, and some pretty paper called Isn’t it romantic, and the co-ordinating brads, and the large felt flower. The sentiment is by A Muse, and is one of my all time faves.
I am still addicted to adding that splatter of color with my color spritzer. I just cant NOT use it now! No idea WHY!!
Anyway that is all for me. I am off to fun family day with the kids! I never stamp on the weekends.
Thanks for checkin in with me. I hope you get to join in for this weeks sketch!! And show the girls some love 😀 I cannot wait to see what all of you come up with!!
Till tomorrow……………

Pittsfield… as in Massachusetts? Is/was there a G.E. facility in Pittsfield? Years ago, 25 to be exact and before we got married, hubby and I made a weekend trip to Pittsfield so I could meet with an electronics/aerospace hardware buyer I was selling to from New Jersey (where I lived at the time). We spent the weekend there and liked it so much we brought our bicycle club back for the balloon festival… camped on site in a field… and got to watch the balloons and also some fantastic bicycling in the area. Its a small world. Cute cards… especially the cupcake one.
Both of your cards are adorable! I thought of you riding the bike with Daisy on the back!! Love your coloring!
