Where do I start. Thank you again for the well wishes, emails, thoughts and prayers.
Sorry its late. I ran around all day on less than 3 hours accumulated sleep.
Good News-Ambers murmur is fine! Thank GOD!!! Thank you for prayers and concern-at least I have answers and can rest on that.
More good news-Why seriously focus on the “This hospital stuff sucks, and being here for Alexa’s brithday would suck worse” type attitude. Im over that! I am sitting here looking at her sleeping-and and just plain ole thankful! PERIOD!
You know why? Cause there is much worse a situation that I could be in. She could not be with us. Im am blessed that despite the rollercoaster we are mainly on the UP, compared to too many. So what if we are stuck here. BIG DEAL.
It will be OK.
I believe that. I have to believe that. We will have a next week! And thats all that matters.
SO all in time we will go home and resume our new type normal, we have come to know over the past 1 1/2 years. Whenever her little body is ready.
So PLEASE keep Alexa in prayer for her lungs to clear and let her be free from needing oxygen.
And thanks for “listening” to a crazy sleep deprived, and thankful mom ramble about her new found attitude. One I do usually adopt but this time was late in the game.
Tomorrow is another day.
Ill let you know what happens.

If you are this eloquent on 3 hours of sleep….WOW!! What an awesome testimony to the power of prayer and a positive attitude. Prayers for Alexa and your family and that her body shakes these nasty germs quickly!!
Hugs sweetie…it’s ok that you want your princess to have her party when it’s supposed to happen…you’re a mom and it’s NORMAL. The beautiful thing about you, is you always find the bright side, no matter what, and that’s important, not only for you, but for Alexa, Noah and Amber too. They are SO lucky to have a mom who will teach them what’s IMPORTANT in life, but you are REAL too, and have real feelings.
I hope Alexa has an awesome time at her princess party WHENEVER it happens, she’ll still be the most beautiful Cinderella evah! I loved hearing her voice on the phone the other day 🙂 She makes me smile!
Woo-HOO for the good news with Amber too!!!
Lots of love & hugs to you and the gang!
Praising God for your Blessings! Your attitude and your faith are awesome. Count your many blessings count them one by one! And we will keep praying!
Im happy that Amber’s heart murmur is fine. If it makes you feel any better, I had one while pregnant with my 2nd daughter, then it went away. Weird things our bodies do, but I’m thankful she is ok.
And Im thankful that you have Alexa and I pray she will get better as fast as her body allows. When she is ready she can have the princess party and it will be that much more special and wonderful.
Know that you are surrounded by love and light. Try to get some more rest and tomorrow will be better.
Oh Lauren! This has put a big smile on my face and tears in my eyes to know that things are looking up! I hope she continues to improve and can go home soon! Bless her little heart! Now you try and get some rest too! Big hugs all around!
Oh Lauren. My heart goes out to you and Alexa and your family. Just bought Alexa’s set. I felt it was all I could do right now to help. Consider Alexa surrounded with positive vibes for clear lungs, a great party.

Thanks for the update!
I hope you’ll get more sleep tonight…
You are so absolutely right, you have to believe that it will be OK.
Hugs and prayers.
Lauren – you have an amazing attitute about this. I hope this strength comes from all the people who are supporting you and want Alexa to get better. You know – it doesn’t matter where her party is. Alexa IS a princess – it won’t matter if she’s at home or in the hospital. I pray that she feels well enough the celebrate, no matter how and where so does it.
I think as a mom you have every right to whine and moan. It is the fear coming out. I am so glad to here you are feeling a little better. I will keep you and your whole family in my thoughts. My babies are 18 and 22 ( this one has spina bifida and I have enough of my own past stories ). It never goes away, the little problems just come less often. Good luck to you.
Lorri
So glad that the news was good about Ambers heart murmur! I will continue to keep y’all in my prayers.

Thanks for the update, Lauren! I’m so glad you could go to Amber’s appt. yesterday. I’ll try to give you a buzz today sometime to check in. Hugs and good thoughts to you and Alexa. Hope she had a good night and that you’ll be packing up and you both will be heading home soon!
Lauren – love you attitude/outlook on all of this!!! You are one truly amazing person and a wonderful mother. Your children are soo blessed to have you!!!
So happy to hear the Amber “murmer” is ok and something she’ll outgrow!!!! Praying for Alexa to continue to get better and hopefully home in time for her party. Hugs to Alexa and you!!! Hopefully last night was a better night and that you managed to get some sleep!!!
Lauren, I admire you and your little angel. She is a fighter like you. Keep your wonderful attitude. So many times in life we question why we are dealt the hand we have, but it is people like you who make the rest of us realize we have so much to be thankful for. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hugs! Stacy
Praying for you and hoping your wishes come true. Take care of you too.

lauren, You are amazing that on three hours of sleep you can think so beautifully! Birthdays and when they happen are no big deal. As long as they happen. My little guys B’day is on December 25th. Can you imagine?! So because it’s that time of year and he was in the hospital for so long after he was born we celebrate his birthday on the day he came home from the hospital. He thinks it’s pretty cool, a cake on Christmas and a party 5 months later. So even if she’s there for her birthday, a cake, some candles and hugs and kisses. Then a HUGE celebration when she comes home. She’ll really start to think she’s the princess with all that attention. Keep smiling and I still have everything crossed that her lungs will clear quickly and you’ll all be home sleeping peacfully. Take care!
Hey, everyone has to vent and who better to than friends! It makes us stronger for our children! Hugs to Alexa and yourself. I’m prayer for a speedy recovery!
Honey, you can “ramble” (or kick, cry, scream, whatever!) any time you need to.
I am so very glad that Amber is ok, and I will keep praying for Alexa’s lungs–and for strength for you.
{{{hugs}}}
Lauren, way to look on the bright side, Girly. Of course you have every right to be totally bummed or to vent or whatever, but the great thing about you is that you do always focus on the positive. I’m so happy to hear that Amber’s murmer isn’t a ‘big deal’! What a blessing! Will continue to pray for Alexa….hopefully you’ll be able to go home soon. Don’t worry about the party. You’ll have it when she’s ready and it will be perfect! She’ll love it, regardless of the date!
Hugs to you, Friend….
Lauren, I’m so glad to see that even with sleep deprivation you can still see the silver lining! God will provide — He always does — but it’s in His time, not ours. That’s the most frustrating part!!! 🙂 Keep the faith, and keep knowing that your blessings DO outweigh your sorrows! You all remain in my prayers!!
Lauren, I’m glad you vented. Worrying about Amber too has been hard on you.
I’m glad you posted here, it has been a call for prayer.
And I’m glad you found peace too.
The princess party is important, but you can have a tea party every day; and save the princess party for when Alexa can delight in it.
Celebrate her birthday all week or even all month.
Gentle kisses to her and a hug for you.
Hi Lauren, Keeping up with all your reports and keeping you all in prayer. Is there an address where we can send cards to Alexa? Thought they might cheer her up.
Jan

May God bless you always for your great attitude and outlook…your family is blessed to have you as their wonderful wife and Mom! Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for Alexa, and praise God that Amber is healthy! Try to get some rest, however you can. It’s important to keep Mom healthy for her girls! 🙂
