Sorry I’m so MIA-but I have LOTS of eye candy to come, I swear! With all my hustling my mojo is coming back 😀 YEAH!
Sadly I have 344 photos to edit before I can really share too much :C That should tell you something 😀 Plus I have dates to wait for too.
As I shared the other day, my family played hookie from school so we could all go to the annual Deerfield Fair! This is something we do EVERY year, and all look forward to. This was by far the easiest year with the kids. No needing to LUG too much stuff, and Alexa is much stronger and was able to keep up with all the walking. Usually she has a hard time getting around all day long.
Really a FAB time, except for the CHILL.
This year was especially FABULOUS because Amber won FIRST PLACE for a Sunflower she painted!! It was featured at the Fair 😀
Here it is
Isn’t it so cute?? She just loves to do anything crafty. Melts my heart.
I was so excited about this.
This is the first time we had anything featured at the fair 😀 We didn’t know she won first place-until we got there. I could have done a cartwheel for her. She can’t wait to get it back and buy a special frame for it. OK that part was my idea! LOL! But I really was proud of her.
Here we are – posing in front of her flower
Sorry-I went with Black & white because when Jay took the photo it was a bit out of focus, and this was the ONLY one I had of us here, so it looked better in B&W
Here she is with daddy
See mommy knows how to take a good photo-first try! LOL!
Here she is later with the clown
She is a camera HOG 😀 Most kids would run from teh clown (as Alexa did! LOL!) but not Amber-she loved her.
This is how poor Noah spent the day at the fair! He cracks me up.
I have to say it was especially STINKY this year :C He isn’t big on me getting any pictures of him.
I do love this one though-taken right before he lost his 2 top teeth, one right after the other. No bottoms in this one.
I felt the need to share it as he is MIA in most of these photos.
Visiting the sheep is one of Alexa’s FAVORITE things to do. Most are so friendly. They all flock to her when she goes to the gate, and that makes her feel like the sheep whisperer! LOL! She gets SO excited.
Here we have the trio
We always get a photo in front of the pumpkin winners. This year was busy and people kept passing in front of the camera, so this was the quick shot.
Got one with dad in there too….
Fun to see how much changes year to year……
IT was chilly! I had 3 sweaters on that day, and still a bit cool. It was like 50 degrees. To ME that is freezing to be out all day
Now here I am again with my crazy girls-Noah didn’t want in :C
Alexa is mocking me here-gotta lover her sense of humor! She always makes fun of my “posing” for the camera smile stuff.
As you can see my hair is VERY short!!! But I’m OK with it-I think.
Well I figure I should share at least ONE card with you-
I made this a few weeks ago, and forgot to share it-I’ve needed some BOYISH cards, so here goes…
Ruffles has a birthday!
This image is beyond perfect for a birthday card! BEYOND!
It is called Ruffles Party. I think its beyond cute. Best part of these images is they are so gender neutral, which is a plus when you have girls AND boys. My mojo was still away when I made this, so I kept it simple. I love the COLOR. I don’t think it needed to be overdone with tons of layering.
I had a blast coloring it most. I have been itching to use it for some time now, and was FINALLY able to ink’er up.
Cute, detailed , but not too overwhelming.
I felt it was boyish until my son pointed out the fact I added a PINK button-and colored a pink balloon! I could just slap myself! He said its NOT a boy card if it has ANY girl colors-like pink. A point I will remember in the future!! I would not have thought otherwise, had he not said that.
Well thanks for hanging in with me and ALL my craziness. I know NONE of it makes sense till you see WHAT I have been working on, in between family. I have a lot on my plate these days, and its ALL good stuff!!
I feel so blessed to be where I am in my life right now. So blessed with my family (especially),and myself-coming into my 30’s I know what I want, where I want to go, and HOW to get there (I think! LOL!), I have gotten healthy and stayed that way, I have continued with my "career"/ hobby. I have set so many new goals and am working so hard to just make it all happen.
So, while I get it all done, I appreciate all of you who stop by and visit. I have especially enjoyed a recent flood of kind emails from readers who have totally brightened my day, and made my remember why I keep trying to push forward and better my best.
You all make my time shared here so worth every moment.
I really just open up my life and every ounce of me. Its cool to be able to do so.
THANK YOU!!

Wow! Lots of things to share. Great family pictures, I loved to see those. Love the card too!
I am happy to see that your inspirations is coming back again!
Hi Lauren! Love your pics, and I love, love, LOVE your hair! You have a beautiful family, and I know you feel blessed. I have a quick, unrelated question. A while back you mentioned what kind of adhesive thingy you use (it’s big and red, I think, and we see it in some of the videos.) Could you tell me again what kind it is? Thanks so much.
Kelly
A big congrats to Amber. What a huge day in her life. Look forward to what you have coming on the way.
thanks
Cheryl
Brrr – your fair is later than most! Loved your pictures and your story of you family’s day out! Looks like you had a great day. You just keep amazing me with all of the wonderful things you create, I love coming to visit and see what you have come up with next. I have asked you quesions and you have answered them to me personally and think you are amazing.
Keep it up and enjoy your family – they grow up WAY too fast. {{{{{hugs}}}}
Sounds like a great family day!! Congrats to Amber for winning 1st place!!Great job! Taking after her mother. Great pics, thanks for sharing.
Fabulous photos. Congratulations to Amber for her lovely picture.
Cute photos. I read your blog daily. I often wander whats going on when you do not post and if everything is okay. By the way my son saw yalls picture and wanted to know who yall were and were yall my friends, I told him that yes you were my friend remeber he is autistic and he was fastinated with yalls picture. He always ask about friends when I drop him off at daycare cuz I work he sits by hisself and that really hurts me because of his social issues and not knowing how to make friends but we are working on it. He has come along way he was non verabal but has been in speech since he was 3 and really started talking in the second semester of kindergarden at the age of 6 he is 8 now. Alot of baby steps, lots of theraphy. I really like all your cards. Susan
Thank you so much Lauren for sharing your family’s day at the fair with all of us. Congrats to Amber for winning 1st place!!! Remind Noah to take it easy on mom, that boys have been known to wear pink shirts & ties from time to time, men especially during October. The NFL is all pink’d up for this month for Breast Cancer Awareness, so all of the macho guys have pink on right now too.
How awesome that you guys have an annual fair like that. I’m jealous. I LOVE that Amber won with her painted sunflower! It is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE that she added what appears to be crumpled tissue paper for the 3-dimensional center! Like mother like daughter. I’m jealous again…my girl could care LESS about crafts! LOL Send me Amber for a week or two :O)
Alexa looks so happy with those sheep! They must sense she’s a good soul! I also LOVE the picture where she is mocking you! My daughter makes a funny face in EVERY picture! To the point where she was the only goofball in the photo that was published in the paper of her gymnastics team! They couldn’t find one of her with a normal face. Drives me NUTS! LOL
And Noah…well, he’s just too cute :O) I would have been right there with him holding my sweater over my nose to alleviate the stench! He’s very particular about things, huh?
LOVE your haircut! Looks healthy and vibrant. Good call. One of these days I’ll tell you the story about when I FINALLY cut my hair to my shoulders. Let’s just say I can relate…and my hairdresser, well, I didn’t go back to him afterward.
Like I told you before…I seriuosly cannot wait to find out what you have up your sleeve! I’m sure our jaws will hit the floor like always :O) Keep your chin up girly…you are doing what you love and you’re doing it better than most!
Kristin
I adore those pictures of your kids, your hubby, and you!! You look terrific! I love your hair, your smile!! I read your blogs every day. It is always the first thing I read when I get up. I admire your talent, your energy; you simply amaze me!! You are doing what you love to do. Be thankful for all the wonderful things you have in your life. I am glad you took time out for your family and the kids. The kids will always appreciate these memories and so will you. I know from experience as mine are grown and away from home.
I look forward to learning new things from you. I can’t wait to see what you have to share with us in the near future.
It’s so good to share family times – these are the things children remember – not how much you bought them!
Your family photos are good and I can’t wait to see the other 300+ you’re editing.
Your dog card is really zany and I think it would appeal to a young boy despite the pink button!
Congrats on First Place! I love to frame my kids artwork around my house. Makes home that much more special. All your pictures are great. I miss going to the fair. We used to take our kids about 3 times each year before we moved to Ohio. My favorite memory is my daughter telling her dad she “got to make a cow pee” when she was 3. She actually got to try to milk it. I think that is awesome that you all play hookie on that day. GREAT family memories!
Congratulations to your little artist. She’s definitely taking after her Mommy. I love to read your blog and look at the great things you’ve come up with. Thanks so much for sharing your talents.
On another note, my cousin was at the Deerfield Fair selling fudge. It’s something she’s done every year for as long as I can remember. Glad you had a good time.
YEAH Amber!! I ♥ your Sunflower!! Lauren — I chuckled when you said your hair is REALLY Short. yes, I know, for YOU it is — I think it looks beautiful. My hair hasn’t been that LONG in years — LOL.
I just L O V E that pic of you & the two girls where Alexa is making the face — *giggle*.
And of course – last but not least — adorable card you made — Your coloring is terrific…I really like how you just lightly highlighted behind the dog house– I’m so bad at that, once I start, I feel like I have to fill the whole thing in — I really want to get out of that habit.
{{HUGS}} and hope you have a great day!! Looking forward to what you have up your sleeves! (there’s so much, that you need both arms, no doubt – LOL)
Way to go Amber!! Great job on the painting!!
Your hair is shorter, but not short (not by my standards anyways!). It looks great!
I can’t wait until you announce what you’ve been up to. I’m sure the stamp world will be buzzing once you fess up. ;o)
The pics look fab you all seemed to enjoy yourself .You look like your a really loving family which is nice to see these days.
Your card is great and if your son hadnt pointed out about the button and balloon don’t think i would have taken much notice!

You look way to young to have kids that age! Your kids have inherited their mom’s talent….congrats to all! Looking forward to your next posting. I’m going on a scrapbook retreat with all your PTI templates packed! Thought that would be a great set of projects to work on for xmas gifts. Thanks for the inspiration!

The picutures are fabulous!!! Congrats to Miss Amber for her win that is fantastic! Big frame for that for sure. BTW, your hair is a fabulous length it looks great!
Love your boyish cards as well! Fun stuff!!
Thanks for sharing Lauren! Looks like a fun family day at the fair and your kids could NOT be more adorable! What a cute family you have.
Love the card too. That dog is just adorable and I know my boys would say the same thing…anything pink makes it a “girl card” 🙂
Hi Lauren,
Love your pictures of you and your wonderful family! Your hair is NOT short!!! I think it looks great!! If you want to see short you should see mine!! My hairdresser got carried away with the scissors last friday, Could not believe how short she cut it!!
The fair looks like a ton of fun. Glad you had a great time and Amber sure does deserve a beautiful frame for her beautiful painting.
The card is so cute, love the boy theme.
Thanks for sharing!!
Congratulations Amber!! What an awesome sunflower you made!
Lauren – that card is cute! I love Noah’s comment about it not being a boy card due to the pink on it. Too funny! Guess I better keep that in mind in the future, too.
What a wonderful family day 😀 Lots of memories to be shared – love it. Congrats to Amber on her 1st place picture too — you have a mini-me in the making 😀 Love the shorter hair too!
Wonderful photos Lauren! Tell Amber congratulations on winning first place and that I think her sunflower is fabulous! I think the weather sounds like it was perfect, but I’m sorry you were cold!
Love your card. It’s just such a sweet, cute card. Can’t wait to see what else you’ve been up to.
Also, still wondering if you’ve heard anything about the photos of Amber you submitted to the magazine.
I had to laugh with Alexa and her pose in the last photo! What a crazy gal! She is too cute! Congrats to your little artist! Wish I could have been there. Looks like the family had a great time! Thanks for sharing!
I truly enjoy reading your blog everyday. Its very real and so inspirational as well.
You look great – love the hair.
Annie
Great photos of the family at the fair! TFS! And a big congrats to Amber for winning the blue ribbon for her sunflower…it’s beautiful!!! She sure takes after her mama.
Darling boy card, Lauren, but shame on you for putting pink on a boy card! LOL!!!
That’s so cool! My girls and I won prizes at our fair this year for our photos that we entered. We were all so excited and we too had to go take pictures of the girls standing next to their photos with the ribbons on them. Too fun! Can’t wait to see your latest creations.
looks like every 1 had a great time….your hair looks great!
What a fun day! We have a few family days planned coming up and we’re a little nervous becuase the last week 50 is the high…….that IS chilly to be out in all day long! 🙂
Yeay for Amber winning first place! I wuoldn’t know how to enter in a fair, but my sister won 3rd for photography this year! Its pretty exciting to see!
Please tell amber I said congrats, beautiful painting. When you frame her picture be sure to get low e glass. It is coated to blocks the light from the sun so the paper it is painted on won’t fade. My son left a fabulous collage on similar blue paper in our very brightly lit front room and it is now a dingy grey. The glass is expensive but worth it! As for the pink on the boy card, my 8 yo son wouldn’t care. So maybe you can’t save that card for Noah, but you might consider it for another boy. A lovely friend sent a RAK to Jameson after his great g-ma died and it was candy in jars. Several candies were pink and he didn’t care at all because “candies are really pink, right?”
Hi Lauren,
You really are an inspiration. I am about the same age as you and although I feel I work constantly full time, part time and family time LOL, I still haven’t reached my goals. I’ll keep dreaming but would love to hear how you manage things.
Thanks again for your all you do and share with us.
What a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Congrats to the budding artist…she will be joining you soon… The kids are growing so fast …take time for those “silly photos” treasures for always!Your hubby is very cute and I love the new do. Blessings to all of you. Hugs from Michigan
