Today I am off to shop for Amber’s 5th birthday!
How is it that 5 years can fly by SO fast?!
She really wants Hello Kitty roller skates, so fingers crossed I find them! That seems to be her #1 request. I searched online and didn’t see ANY Hello Kitty skates (EEK!)
OK time is tight, so I’ll make it quick.
I got SOOOOO many emails about the girls room photos I posted yesterday 😀 I just want to add, in response, that even though the Target Website doesn’t have the wall decals online, that IS where I got them 😀 ONLY $12 and you get a TON! I purchased 2 (and if you find them in store, I recommend you do the same, as you can always return it if you don’t us it :D) and did a very large girls room.
Tomorrow I have the first countdown peek for the Papertrey Ink Release, and a peek at my NEWEST! My Timeless Template 😀 I cannot even wait 😀
Now to ease my excitement, until tomorrow, I have a card to share with you all using the CHA exclusive set Floral Fusion.
For you-
This is a REALLY pretty set. Don’t do a search for it, as it was ONLY available to those who attended CHA and place an order of $100 or more.
I did some paper piercing along the stem, and along the scalloped bottom of the layer.
I’m seriously over the moon for thiscolor combo-kraft, white, spring moss, and melon berry. Just so summer to me, and fresh looking.
I also used polka dot basics IIin the bkgd layer. I also used borders & corners circle for my butterfly frame.
My sentiment was stamped in white snow ink.
Just a simple card.
Well I am off.
Be sure to check in tomorrow for the beginning of a week full of ideas and projects 😀
I hope everyone is enjoying what is left of Summer! I know we are here.
We have been busy here, with all next week being FULL of appointments :C Between back to school check ups, Alexa’s bazillion appointments on Wednesday, Jay’s stuff and play dates, call me insane by weeks end! PLUS I’m wrapping up my newest My Timeless Template samples for ya!
Jay is recovering from his back surgery quite well 😀 He has a follow up on Monday. He still can’t drive or sit upright. He has to either stand, or lay down. He is getting antsy, and I have to keep reminding him what NOT to do. At least he can COOK! LOL! That is all I care about for this stent of time, not being able to do much 😀 I loathe cooking.
On another personal note, so many asked to see my girls bedroom with the bedding from Target 😀 Its a REALLY cute set.
Here you go!
Girls beds with stick on wall decals (Amber and I placed each one in very specific areas! LOL!)
Amber’s Corner (sorry for dark icky photos)
Alexa’s Corner
I HAD to get the matching owl pillow! Its the perfect addition for their beds.
The lamp was like $10, and I stuck a decal on that so it matched the room! LOL! Cheap & easy, and it peels right off later 😀
This is another wall of their room
Another view-with animals peeking out from everywhere! LOL!
Then one more-
So basically 2 okgs of decals covered their room 😀
Once Jay’s back is healed we are getting new carpeting and stuff-so YEAH! That will be nice.
OK sorry for the detour! Back to the regular scheduled post-
Anyway-the weekend is here, and it is time for an Inspiration Challenge!
Seeing these little skirts (or aprons-no sure! LOL!) Hanging on a line really called out Summer to me!
So this is the challenge today.
Next week I will pick the top 5 entries, and link their blog/gallery here 😀
Here is card #1 I did
I loved the stripes and colors in this inspiration piece, so I went with that! What a FAB color combo this is too 😀
Lately its been ALL work, no play, so I took advantage of the challenge, to pull out some fun stamps I have yet to get ink on 😀
This one is from The Greeting Farm! This is Miss Anya I so love all their stuff 😀 Really cutesy, which is SO me! I find I buy it all, but don’t USE it! So I’m trying to USE what I have. Then I can justify buying the latest & greatest! LOL!
I used my NEW! Labels 9 die cut for this one too, along with some OLD SU! rub on’s to complete the look
Then I had so much fun I had to do ONE more 😀
I want my Mummy
OMG! I have had this uber cute monster Argus with Teddy-from Paper Make Up, for an eternity! I thought the image was so cute, that I had to get it immediately. So, I did, then never got to using it. Don’t you hate that? Or you get to use something like ONCE then never again, or you forget about it! LOL! I hope I’m not alone on that one, or I have serious explaining to do to Jay! LOL! I’ve been getting better about impulse shopping when it comes to STAMPS, but accessories and paper/ribbon/embellishments/tools, and other stuff like that is my COMPLETE downfall! Can’t help it.
Anywho, the apron with the pink base and aqua polka dots REALLY caught my eye, so I used this lil monster, with dots, and them made my own paper to match! Now THAT is fun inspiration 😀 I colored the teddy all freaky-since its like a monster teddy. I also added Googley Eyes to Argus teh monster. I think its cute like that 😀
Since the monster LOOKED scared, I used the sentiment “I want my mummy” fromWitch Way to the Treats Centers & Borders Round 1-3/16” , mixed with the Spider BOO! image to give him/her something to LOOK scared about 😀
I thought it was cute 😀
So now I will feature the TOP 5 choices, from last weeks Saturday Sketch, from those who joined in our challenge Check them out OK!
This feature will be called My Time to Shine 😀
Here are a links to the My Time to Shine-Top 5 people featured!
Thanks to all who played along 😀 I cannot wait to see what everyone does this week!
Now for samples of inspiration from the team, hop along ……..
So that is all for me today! I hope you’re inspired to get creative this week!
Thanks for stopping by 😀
Ok so yesterday you got to see the Tooth Fairy Tin I made for Amber, now I will share the one I made for my son Noah!
He wanted the Frog Fairy the second he saw it! In fact, after seeing the fairy set, he suggested that I ask Melissa to include a tooth image, just so I could make him a new BOYISH tooth fairy box! LOL! And she did! Thanks Melissa!!
Noah wanted a larger altoid like tin. I asked him “WHY do one so big?” To which he replied “I need it big for it to hold all the MONEY that the tooth fairy will leave me! If its a tiny tin she might only put in silver money (aka quarters), and I want paper money (aka lots of dollars! LOL!)!”
So I complied. The tooth fairy will send paper money, next time. He has 2 more loose teeth! I’m going to be broke!
The frog itself has 3 layers of dimension, that last being the arm/wand. Its really cute in real life.
He wanted it to also have a “N” for his name. Do I have specific, picky kids, or what?! LOL!
So, obviously I obliged 😀 Oh, and we couldn’t forget the “tooth” image either 😀
Then I did a quickie card with the Owl, because I just LOVE it 😀
I used a piece of acetate, that I free hand, cut into a cloud. I then just distressed the edges in white stazon, and stamped on the sentiment. I adored the look it has 😀
The acetate sheet, star paper and cardstock are all from Papertrey Ink
Going with the star theme I used my star punch to punch a star from glittered paper, then dry embossed a star in the corner. The star trail was done in silver.
Quick and cute.
So that is it today! I have 2 videos to get done (at LEAST) by day’s end, a crazy busy week here, and about 200 emails to sort through later.
So stay tuned!
In the mean time check out the Pink Cat Studio Blog for more ideas!!

I’ll be back tomorrow for more.
So thanks for stopping by 😀
Im very excited to share some peeks at NEW! Fairy Friends images from Pink Cat Stuido!!
Please note images will be released on Thursday August 6th.
These are the most ADORABLE Fairy animals friends ever!! We all had fun deciding what lil animals would make the CUTEST fairies. Then, Melissa worked her magic and this was created.
I think there is something for everyone. I know my kids were very excited! (now let me also say that while today I’m all girly, I do have a BOY idea to follow tomorrow :D)
So first up how about a bunny fairy!
Complete with 3D head, pom pom tail, glittery wings, and a magic wand!
When I got the images for this new release I was just giddy. However, over my shoulder I had someone else even MORE excited than I was! Yes, you guessed it, my kids 😀
My daughter Amber immediately informed me that she has not been given a Tooth Fairy tin, made by me! Once Noah started losing his teeth it occurred to her, she had NOTHING to present her precious white jewels, to the tooth fairy.
(PS Alexa is past the age of losing teeth, and did have a tin I made her years ago!)
So I had her go through my tins, and paper to decide what she wanted me to make!
She picked the heart (as I knew she would! LOL!), and some Princess paper by Imaginesce that my friend Sonia sent our way (thank you again!!)
Amber knew she wanted the bunny image to be her Tooth Fairy Friend.
So this is what her tin turned out to be. She shows it to everyone who comes in the house! LOL!!
I’m happy she likes it so much.
That being said, I was on a pink kick when I moved onto the cutest penguin fairy ever!
I KNOW you think BLACK when you see a penguin, but this is a FAIRY so it can be ANY color, right?
I just went with pink and brown combo, and loved the outcome!! I covered the snowflake wand, with a flower 😀
This penguin could be cute not matter what color you made it!
So now its time to check out the Pink Cat Studio Blog for more ideas!!

I’ll be back tomorrow for more.
OH! And you’ll be happy to know that I have a video to share this week using this new release too!
So stay tuned.
Well I have a large post to share today, some eye candy and some family photos, so ready whatever interests you! LOL!
C.C. Designsis having their release tomorrow! 😀 I have shared several samples from this month’s stamp line up over the last couple of days. So scroll on down my blog.
One of the latest and greatest sets is byAmyR called Fresh Flowers. Its a very pretty set with some solid and open line art, with some sentiments too!
Here is what I got when I combined AmyR’s Sympathy Sentiment set, with her Fresh Flowers from this months Release, along with her Butterflies from last month (I love that set :D)
I thought it was just so pretty and elegant. I didn’t want anything overdone.
My colors are Sweet Blush, Ruby Red, and Ripe Avocado.
I stamped the floral image onto sweet blush cardstock. Then I cut away the border around the flowers.
I knew I wanted the butterfly to appear behind the flowers. I loved the clean and simple look.
The sentiment was stamped on sweet blush as well, and punched out with a large oval from SU! I also used a SU! Labels die.
Make sure you check out theATS Blog for more samples, and your chance to win this set!
Well it was a full weekend here at the Meader home.
It was full of things to do as we went to our town Annual Hot Air Balloon Rally!
This is a view on the field as they blow up some of the balloons
(note I really need to read up on HOW to work my awesome camera! LOL!)
It is really cool to see them all go up. I love seeing them blow up. They are HUGE inside. Me being terrified of heights, you couldn’t PAY ME to go up in one, even tethered!
I look forward to this event every year, since I met Jason. There are some great benfits to the type of “community” you have when living in a small town, where everyone knows everyone 😀 I really enjoy all our small town activities.
Here are the kids, fooling around for the photo, as we watch the balloons get blown up
The kids LOVE this event too. Its just a really cool thing to expierience.
Here is one on lift off
Poor Jay, he was laying on the ground at the park! LOL! So, he got this shot! LOL! He has to either stand of lay down for at least the next week!
I had my niece Gabby for the day. She is almost 6 months old, and getting so big!
She is in 12 month summer clothing! She just cracks me up too. He has quite the personality.
She looks so much like my brother! Its really crazy. All my kids look like thier father, so I don’t know what having your own child, look like you feels like. That being said, since he looks like me, people we ran into, that I hadn’t seen in a while, thought I had another baby! LOL! And saying how much she looked like me! Um, NO! It was hilarious though.
She was SOOOO good the whole day. You’d never know she had a double ear infection! She is just the best little thing. I enjoy her so much. She like a 4th child to me 😀 She is at such a fun age, when they start making all kinds of sounds and imitating things you do. I could just squeeze her! (OK I do! And between the kids and I she is kissed to death! LOL!) The kids just fawn all over her. I can totally understand why people go for that 4th! LOL! That isn’t a hint that I’m ever having anymore, I’m just SAYING! We fixed that from ever happening again. All my friends have “babies” so I can get my fix!
Speaking of “babies” here are some more photos of MY babies 😀
Note: End of the HOT HUMID day at the Balloon Rally! I look tired, and hot! And I was 😀
Here are the girls eating lunch
Then again, while the balloons go off
Another end of day messy photo! LOL!
Noah and Amber going down the big slide
Here is Alexa and her funny look she always gives when I want to take her picture
I have kids wear a Whistle around their necks, in case they get lost in the crowds! They are really good about holding hands, and sticking together, but sometimes people push through you and you just never know! I also wear a back pack and make them hold on the stings if my hands are full. We have like a little people train. They are all PERFECT ages to do stuff with. I am really enjoying them more and more all the time.
Here is Amber and her whistle. I cannot believe my “baby” turns 5 in less than 2 weeks!
Noah taking a drink of a yummy fruit smoothy.
Looking at this photo I can easily see what he will look like at 17! LOL! Makes me a wee bit sad.
This is Noah on the Sizzler
The girls and I can’t handle the fast spinning of this one, so he went alone!
He has lost 5 teeth-so he has a toothless grin!
Then the girls on the spinning dragons
They liked that one.
The fave was of course the Bouncy House! I got photos, but they aren’t very good.
So there you have some highlights from our day. We spent some time with our friends that day too, which was nice and fun!
Now I know summer is close to an end. Funny yesterday was sweltering HOT and HUMID and today and cool and rainy! Go figure. Gotta love New England weather.
Well that is all for me. Time to recover from a hot summer day.
Till tomorow……
OK peeps, this is post 2 for today, so scroll down!
I’m off to balloon rally, so I have be quick 😀
Today’s challenge we have a sketch!
If you get to play along please link here
I will be featuring the TOP 5 on my blog next weekend, with a link to their blogs!
This feature of the TOP 5, will be called My Time to Shine 😀 So I hope you find time to play 😀 This will also help others find new blogs full of talent, that they may not have seen before too! So rock it out girls!
Here is my take on the sketch
I kept is clean and simple so the focus is on the main image 😀
This adorable dog is from Helz Cuppleditch. I loved him peeking out of the Daffodils 😀 This was one of the images I colored while Jay was recovering in the hospital! LOL! Too fun. I then went on to find some simple, patterned paper, to complete to look!
The Hi there sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages
Now its time to check out the team’s take on the sketch
They are all fabulously talented ladies! I feel blessed to have gotten to know each of them, and call them my friends 😀
OK I’m off for the day!
Enjoy
Today is the monthly Senior Design Team challenge for Papertrey Ink.
Our challenge from Nichole was to pair four or more different patterns on a single project, making them all work harmoniously together!
I thought this was a super fun challenge, as I know many of you ask yourself about HOW to go about such a venture! I mix, match and pair patterns all the time! I began my creative ventures as a Quilt maker, and to me, that was the best part! Mixing and matching all the various fabric patterns and making them work!
Here is my snippet of patterns-up close
I used a total of 6 patterns for my creation-from 5 different paper packs.
My tips for mixing patterns:
1) Pick a main pattern as a start point.
This will help with the color palette, and will enable you to pull out other colors from that start point.
In this case my start point began with the dotted leaf pattern from the Father Know’s Best collection.
By choosing this I knew I would pick up the Summer Sunset color from other patterns, as well as Dark Chocolate.
Also seeing the dots I knew I could pull more papers with dots-such as Chocolate Remix, and Bitty Dots 2008!
2) Put the patterns together, and move them around. See what looks and feels like a harmonious match/mix.
For instance, I wouldn’t put the flower pattern, next to the bitty squares pattern. It would just meld together or disappear! It would also look too heave on one side of the card, with so much of ONE color in ONE area.
3) Layer more simple patterns next to busier patterns, so it looks more harmonious.
As you can see, next to my BUSY patterns, I used paper that picks up on the pattern, and is less “busy” So, since there were dots on my leaves, I layered the polka dot paper next to the leaf pattern. On the other side, I went with a faint pattern by using Bitty Boxes. Next to the dots, we get back to a faintly patterned paper, the on to a butterfly border, which continued with the dotted pattern.
4) Use a variety of pattern scales.
We have little boxes, large leaves, bitty dots, larger flowers, then little butterflies in this.
Also use a Larger portion of ONE color, then smaller portions of other colors from the main pattern.
As presented in my card above.
The eye travels from the flower on the left, over the patterns, then rests on the sentiment on the lower right.
It all just flows!
5) Don’t be afraid!
That is the #1 thing holding people back from attempting to mix and match! Just got for it. If you get a paper pad with various patterns in it, each holds some variety of the same colors, start by mixing and matching the patterns in the same pack! Then later, as you grow comfortable, mix different paper packs together, as I did here . When you have a company, like Papertrey Ink, who used similar colors in their paper pads, it is easier to combine the various patterns!
Now I didn’t want you thinking I went with a easy color combo, to make it easy on myself, so I will share another card I did for the last Papertrey ink release, using a paper pack from another company-with some Papertrey Ink paper
This used 4 different patterns!
The bitty dots and bitty sqaures from Papertrey Ink, then the striped for my panel, and some other patterned paper for the “hot air balloons” from K& Co.
This project began with the stripped paper, then moved along from there! All using the same tips I posted above. I used larger scale patterns, with smaller scale patterns, and pulling colors from the stripes, it all just worked!
Do you realize there are color 8 color combinations in this one?
Raspberry, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Orange, Black, Red, Blue, White!
All used in various scales, making it all just work!
So now it is your turn to give it go!
Be sure to check out the other design team member blogs for more ideas!
and our Guest Designer Wendy Sue
I really hope you are inspired by my projects today! I enjoyed sharing my own tips that I use when combining patterns, colors and scale.
Thanks for stopping by!!
Well I hope those of you, like me, stuck home during CHA, are finding things to do! I have been creating up a storm here. The creative juices are slowly flowing in between taking care of everything. I’m just pretending Jay is at work, and its a normal day! LOL! I have had a few play-dates for the kids to keep them busy, so that has helped too.
I have a FAB weekend planned here, as it is our towns annual Hot Air Balloon Rally! We have a huge turnout each year, and it is just a blast!
It is the one thing I look forward too each summer. It is also a bit sad because I know summer is ending soon.
Amber was DUE on Balloon Rally the year she was born, so I always remember the way I felt that year! She was actually quite late, arriving August 13th! I was about as big as the hot air balloons that year! I do recall eating 3 pieces of fried dough during the course of that day! LOL! It was my LAST excuse to eat like that-and boy was it yummy!! I planned my eating this week around indulging at the Rally this year. I won’t go overboard, but I AM having my fried dough, with Nutella on it 😀 Oh! How yummy.
I can’t believe I have to start school shopping soon. My kids are still in Summer School! LOL! Anywho…….
Time to kick off the next day of Sneak Peeks of the NEWEST C.C. Designs stamp sets!
The images will all be released Monday August 3rd. Be sure to check out the C.C. Designs blog, each day, for your chance to WIN the set revealed. They are ALL fab.
Today is AmyR’s Sympathy Sentiments set.
There are several really nice sentiments for the saddest of occasions. Finding the right words when someone loses a loved one is truly a difficult task, but this set makes it easier.
Amy included a pretty flower branch in this set too. To me it looked like a Cherry Blossom. (I’m not a flower person, so if it’s not, sorry! But to me, that was my thought when designing this card)
I stamped the image onto shimmery white cardstock, and cut out a circle around it. I love the branch hanging off
I then layered some pink colors
Simple layout, but I really loved it.
Well that does it for me today. I have much to do. Lots of fun to be had with the kids. I hope to get some photos for ya! Really cool stuff 😀
Tomorrow is our weekly challenge, and I have the Senior Design Team Challenge from Papertrey Ink-so see ya then
Oh man! Am I the ONLY one who didn’t get to go to CHA?
I feel like it :C Such a bummer. I have never been and would love to go, someday. I would so enjoy meeting all the people out there in the stamping community!
I’m so green for the girls that did get to go.
I can’t afford to take a trip like that, and a huge part of me would feel VERY guilty leaving my family behind while I have a blast. Oh and spending the money it would take to get me there. Maybe someday.
Jay is doing well. He is trying his best to get up and move around to avoid blood clots and whatnot. Obviously tons of pain, but he isn’t being as awful as I anticipated! He is actually 1,000 times better that I thought he’d be.
I know that sounds "cold", but if you don’t know, this is the guy who had a vasectomy (2 TINY stitches on "the boys") and was SLEEPING day and night (oh and lots of whining) for almost a WEEK! I finally freaked out and said " ENOUGH ALREADY!! You can’t even SEE the incision. Be a man! " I know! I’m terrible. I just figured he was SO awful over that, that I was DOOMED after this OBVIOUSLY more painful procedure. I expected lots of pain and to be lovingly waiting on him hand and foot, but he has done quite well. Plus our kids are older, so they are our mini-slaves! LOL!!!! They are helping me take care of dad, and fetching this, that and the other thing! LOL! I am also having them help with the household "chores" which they are PLENTY old enough for. Funny thing is Amber, who is almost 5, does the BEST! She is a great duster, she vacuums and BEGS to wash dishes and fold laundry! She does such a good job that she CAN do all that, just as good as I would. She watches everything I do! I’m always amazed. The other two need lots of NAGGING! I swear they do a bad job on purpose! They are no fools! LOL!
OK now I know you didn’t come here to hear all the insane ramblings of thoughts in my head. Sorry about that. (I had more typed but opted to delete all the nonsense rambling! LOL!)
Another day has passed and that means MORE previews! C.C. Designs is having their release on Monday August 3rd.
Today is a UBER cute set called School Days
Teacher is a special word (that is the sentiment from the set :D)
How adorable is that dog?
I had a blast using this set. I plan on doing much more with it 😀
Overall I kept it SIMPLE.
Love the apple. Looks like he is saying “Here you go!”
The school themed paper is my Imaginesce-Teachers PetIt is THE BEST school themed paper, I have ever seen! I also used some rub-ons and ribbon from that collection as well.
I can’t say enough about it.
OK now we move on to my 2nd card.
Book worm
Oh my goodness gracious! I almost died when I say how cute this lil worm was! Who’d of thunk it? Me, loving a worm!
How can you not? He is just so cute
I paired a few patterned papers from various companies for this total look. Used a punch for the “torn paper” look.
Apparently I was going through a BLUE phase for my colors! LOL! Both cards are similar in color. Didn’t even notice till now.
The file folder is a Sizzix die I had from forever and a day ago. I just used the paper I wanted, and cut the folder. I love that particular die. Seems I only use ot for school themed stuff! EEK! LOL!
I just stamped him, and colored with my Copic markers. I then cut him out of a 1/2 circle. Had to use a clip to add him onto my card 😀
Then added a few flowers.
I just thought this was adorable.
Want to see more adorable samples? Want your chance to WIN this set?
Check out the ATS Blog!
I’ll be back tomorrow, with MORE samples, from new sets 😀
Thanks for stopping by.
Till tomorrow
Well guess what today is?
Day 1-
Time to kick off the next 5 days of Sneak Peeks of the NEWEST C.C. Designs stamp sets!
The images will all be released Monday August 3rd. Be sure to check out the C.C. Designs blog, each day, for your chance to WIN the set revealed. They are ALL fab.
Oh, yes, I fell in love again! I swear it just gets better and better!
Christine’s new girls Swiss Pixie’s are just -ADORABLE! There is just no better word 😀 I adore the “precious moments” sort of appeal they have. They are also fun and easy to color. Sometimes I don’t enjoy messing with LOTS of details. In fact, to be quite honest, it scares the bejeebers out of me! I’m not that good at coloring, so it can often be intimidating.
That being said-these are fab!
Heidi among the flowers
I think she is just beyond adorable. I had fun pairing her with some bright cheery colors, because she just needed to be CHEERY to me. If I sent this to you wouldn’t you feel happy? It just sunny, in its own way.
Of course, I colored her with my Copic markers. I am working on getting LOTS of refills now that I have owned mine so long, and have gotten SO MUCH use out of them. One of my very best purchases, ever!!!!
I added a little “pattern” to her dress using my colorless blender, to remove the color.
The “sky” is very lightly colored in the background. I wanted SUBTLE!
Now we move onto the other UBER cute Swiss Pixie image for August (OH! MY! WORD! Did I just type AUGUST?! Seriously-where did the summer go?)
Leisel and her Wheelbarrow
C’mon now! How cute is she?
Another fun one to color.
(Oh yeah and you should see next months!! If you didn’t get the Fall Kit, kick yourself NOW! LOL! Or plan on getting it again when it is available!) I *just* got mine, and those were all the images people at the hospital were OHing and AHHing over while Jay was in the hospital!)
LOVE the wheelbarrow. I HAD to add some felt flowers to it!! It matched my K& Co paper that Im so in love with. I alos added a heart epoxy sticker by Cloud 9 (thanks Sonia :D), over the heart on the wheelbarrow.
I also added some bling to her ponytail holders, glitter to her wings, and dots to the barrow bottom.
All just little details, yet all important 😀
OK that does it for me.
I have so much more to share tomorrow, so see ya then (Oh boy real cuteness tomorrow too!)
On a creative note, drop me a line telling me your fave color combo! Im needing some new and refreshing ideas 😀
Till Tomorrow
