PCS-Peek Fairy Sweet Projects

You’re Fairy Sweet

Are you just LOVING Enchanted Lily yet? ALL the images are AMAZING.

She will be available on the 23rd!

I know “I” am having a blast with her, for sure.

I designed this hinge top box for this image. I wanted something FUN to give a gift in. The lid tucks behind the main image and stays closed firmly.

I SO enjoy making boxes 😀

This is my personal FAVORITE image from the set

lily-tag-close.JPG

LOVE isn’t even the word.

The Black and White Basics paper is SOOO pretty. I thought it was a perfect match to my project, so I decided to color it in, to be like a whole new patterned paper! You’d never recognize it all colored up, would ya?

I used stickles on her wings, and sponged some “water”. The  colors are so pretty I think.

lily-fairy-close-view.JPG

How cute is the frog even. Could a frog get an more adorable?!

Box from the top left side

lily-fair-box-top.JPG

Another view

another-side-view-lily-box.JPG

I don’t know if I’ll be able to part with this box! LOL! I love it so much.

Next up is my 2nd favorite image in the set

lily-ladybug-card.JPG

Lily on a mushroom!! WITH a ladybug.

I knew I wanted bright colors 😀 I had some K & co paper that was perfect inspiration. In fact that is usually how I start-getting inspired by something (like paper or ribbon) for my color choices. Im not a risk taker, and color my images randomly, they always have something to tie it all in. If I want a particular color scheme them I hunt in my paper stash to see if I have something that fits the bill.

Isn’t she adorable?!

lily-ladybug-close-up.JPG

I LOVE the labels panel behind her as a accent layer.

Then the dangling tag is the perfect touch.

I think this is a super color combo for this particular image.

I have a hard time making Lily’s hair anything other than blond! She looks just like Amber, so I can’t do it! LOL!!

Well that is all for my peeks today!

PCS Peek Enchanted Lily interactive Swinging Pendulum card

Feb 21, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

    Say that 5 times fast.

What did I do before I found Pink Cat Studio?!

Let me tell you Melissa was a hidden talent. Every month she just gets better and better. I LOVE her! She is also FAB to work for. Im a very lucky girl 😀

    Now drumroll………………………..

    Welcome Enchanted Lily!

(sorry small images-Im working with new editing software. I get them either TOO big, or too small! UGH!!)

    Swing by some time-

     lily-swinging.png

She is the newest release from Pink Cat Studio , and will be available to YOU , on the 23rd!

Lily as a Fairy. Can it get any better? YES! Wait till you see next month! LOL! (Sorry I HAD to do that-Seriously though!)

When I saw this image it was ONLY natural to think interactive swinging card! I like to call it my Pendulum card, since you can get a variety of images to essentially do this-with a little imagination 😀

The problem was HOW to do it, and not have her be so flat, while showcasing her swinging talent and beauty!!!

    close-card-swing.png

    The answer!

Make a triangle base with a cut out for a really cool look. Now she is always on display.

Now don’t ruin my fun and ask me HOW I would mail it. I wouldn’t! I don’t even mail FLAT cards to people! LOL! In all seriousness I would package her in a BOX and send her that way.

    close-card-swing-right.png

I used a blue faintly patterned paper to make like the “sky” in the background, as you peer through the cut out. I used the same paper for my side layers.

I stamped the tree branch from the image a few times. I then cut and layered it on top to hide the pendulum motion I created with some pennies, so she can swing side to side.

Spring is here. Doesn’t she look so free & happy?!

    close-card-swing-center.png

I used a stamp of some flowers I had (can’t remember WHO makes them Maybe Penny Black EEK! No idea :C) and left the leaves to hang into the oval I made, With the cut away  this appeared MORE 3D than it actually was. I didn’t want 3D flowers inhibiting her swinging!!

A little coloring and sponging and I think she looks like she is literally swinging from a tree in the forest!

She makes a nice “conversation” piece. This is now in my girls room!! They LOVE making her swing!!!

    Here she goes………back

    lily-swinging-right.png

    Then forth………………….

    lily-swinging-left.png

    I LOVE her.

Now I must warn you-my other projects aren’t as fab as this one for the release! How can I top a swinging fairy card?! Seriously! I was pretty proud f this I must say.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post!

    BAD Sketch poster!

Feb 20, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

OH boy am I ever on a BAD blogger stint!

This post is a little early

I’ve been so crazy doing so much stuff (most you have no idea about! LOL! like more templates and other must wait to see stuff) I haven’t been doing well posting my OWN samples for my Saturday Sketches! Good grief (Charlie Brown).

THIS week for the sketch we are going to what I am going to call “So Long Ago Sketch Saturday” This feature is when we will ALL pick an OLD sketch and use it NOW!

You can see ALL my old sketches here

This will be a regular feature on my blog! Except for this week, I will make this a LAST Saturday of the month challenge for the team (and you!) I think I will be fun to dig up some of the oldies but goodies, and get a fresh take on them.

back to the bad blogger stint:

With all the baby excitement I forgot to post my Sketch 24 last week! I think I deserve a big pardon on that though.

So here it is! Late but not forgotten.

    mytimess24

    mytimess24.png

Then (believe this) I made a super cute sample-BUT it uses the Papertrey Ink Anniversary set! That means I can’t even share it yet! LOL! When I find my head I’ll let you know.

The week before that I did’t have my own sample for Sketch 23, but I do have one I threw together now (if it counts! LOL!) Never too late right?

    Sending Flowers

    flower-shop-get-well.JPG

Now when people are sick, sometimes you send them flowers right?

So I thought WHY NOT, and IMAGE of a flower shop!

I used the Welcome Home set for the flower shop, and sketched sentiments for my “get well soon”

I think the colors are SURE to cheer someone up.

I have to tell you Im in LOVE with the SU! Scallop border punch. WOW! Oh and their buttons 😀  The paper is by Making Memories. SO cheery.

    OK thats all for me

Don’t miss the Sketch Team (on Sat) some have been busier than me! LOL!)

Fun with Paper Makeup and a PEP TALK!!

Feb 20, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

I have a great post to share today-in my opinion. Take from it what you will I guess.

It shows that we can ALL make our dreams a reality. You just have to :

    1) Have a dream. Big or small. Who cares how crazy. Sky is the limit

    2) Set goals to take the correct steps in making those dreams a reality

    3) ACTUALLY follow the steps!

That is step 1 to failure-not following through! You can’t succeed without HARD work

    4) Expect it WON’T be easy.

    5) Try try again. DON’T give UP! To think your goals will be met instantly (without rejection or a SLOW start) is truly unrealistic.

    6) TAKE the leap. It WILL be scary. All risk is.

If you don’t put yourself out there and TRY you will never know.

I’d rather fail at trying, than always wonder “what if I had…..”

    7) Don’t be satisfied with where you are.

That means keep striving to get better, or reach higher once you have obtained your goals.

    8) Keep a visible list of what you want to accomplish so you don’t lost sight of what you want.

This pep talk applies to SOOOOO many areas in our lives. Weather its starting a new job, quitting one, being a mom, losing weight, CLEANING out a room, wanting more in  some area of your life, making creative time, wanting to be on a design team ,get published, whatever!! Its all one in the same. A dream is a dream. (or a goal is a goal)

ALL this being said, I do know what I’m talking about. I put myself out there ALL the time. I have ENDLESS goals, and work on them every chance I get. I keep VISIBLE lists so I don’t lose sight of my goals too. Sometimes its scary, but when I get to that goal it feels AMAZING. Sometimes I even surprise myself.

I LOVE seeing my fellow bloggers/stampers make their dreams come true. Its a great feeling to share what you love, and have everyone else love it and even benefit from it too.

I know that having the My Timeless Template © was something I never even thought possible. As well as many other things in my life.

Recently my friend Katie began her very own stamp company!! Paper Make-Up Stamps!

Katie is awesome and Im happy to call her my friend. I get so excited using stuff my friends design. I was just over the moon for her and her new venture.

So yes a plug for my friend, and fellow stamper.

    Here is her BLOG

She also had a group on PCP HERE!

Not only is Katie drop dead gorgeous, but she is also talented too (don’t you hate that! LOL!). When I saw her designs I went NUTS!!! Even more so now because AFTER I ordered I saw stamps I didn’t know existed! I only saw the front page (which was geared towards Valentines Day!) but thought nothing of it since she was JUST starting out. I missed out on some cool images I NEED, and will get them in my cart next time. For now I thought I’d help her spread the word and share my designs with you.

My first card-you know I LOVE butterflies

    butterfly-change.JPG

This sentiment is awesome! I fell in love with it. I especially love the font.

This card uses Buggy Sayings, which is suppose to be “cutesy and whimsical” which I LOVE, but I saw elegant in this image. I love making stuff into the unexpected.

I used the butterfly and stamped in Pallette black, onto Fantasy Film (DON’T Google that!!! You don’t even want to KNOW what will pop up!) heat set as directed, then cut out, to create this shimmery 3D butterfly.

I used the swirls from the swirly tree to create a “garden”.

Then I moved on to this card using SAME sets

    butterfly-card-2.JPG

Honestly NOT a fan of this card, but figured I took the time to make it, may as well post it! LOL! See we all have OFF days 😀 This was actually my first, back to stamping-after none for a week card. Those aren’t usually ones I like or am proud of.

I call them “warm up” cards! Gotta get back into the swing and warm up the mojo! I think the first card was MUCH better, after my warm up 😀

Being STUCK on Raspberry Fizz and black I moved onto the CUTEST, strangest image I ever owned! LOL! But LOVE for some ODD reason

MEET Caliope ( I secretly wish it was a stuffed animal I swear!)

    caliope-2.JPG

I love him/her. Not sure why. Noah (my 6yo boy) thinks this is just the cutest image I ever owned! LOL!

The “i love you” is from JustRite Stampers $1 section! WOOT! WOOT! 2xs Stampers i love you

I made the heart all glittery.

Just looking at Caliope makes me smile.

Now for my FAVORITE!!! The Fairies!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is where I got bummed! I didn’t see Lauren in Love! OMG she is adorable, and has my name! LOL! So she is a must get for me.

But I do love what I have and that is Jaina

    sending-you-choice.JPG

    Sending you…

This sentiment is from Amy R’s Warm & Cozy set. It was PERFECT. She is afterall flying somewhere! I can tehn finish off the insdie (if it ever gets sent) to who ever for whatever the occassion.

I was inspired by some new SU! paper I just got. I wanted to color her in some unexpected colors, and definitely achieved that here.

I like the added touch of the butterfly sticker on the flower petal. I felt like it looked like the fairy was trying to see her closer up .

I added some  stickles on her wings Some sponging was done too. This was a easy card, but I loved the outcome.

So that is it. I hope you check out Katies stuff. I am so proud of her for making her dream come true!!!

    Send her some LOVE OK!

OK I must run. Lots to do-as always.

Tomorrow begins the Pink Cat Studio release peeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!

You won’t want to miss that

See ya then! And thank you all for reading and making my everyday a dream come true 😀

    After 14 hours

Feb 19, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

of hard work, our playroom is about together!

    Well MY part anyway!

Jay has to add the trim work, buy the Futon, and bring the TV and computer down there (hook it all up), put in the special lighting (we have a standing lamp for now that will do till next year when he finally decides to get to it! LOL!) Oh and we have a bathroom down there that has to be re-done, but that can wait.

(yes I will post photos once it DONE!)

Amber helped me move all her toys in! She is so excited. She asked if she could move her bed in there! LOL! Um, NO!

What is HILARIOUS, is when my brother and Valerie were moving out, they weren’t even out the door and Amber was saying “Once you leave I get to take you room and its going to be mine playroom> How much longer till you are moved out?”

OMW! Amber! That isn’t nice. Funny, but not nice. Poor kid everyday since then its been “How many sleeps till you do my playroom? I am waiting patiently you know” She cracks me up.

Im more excited that they now have an EASILY accessible (for them) crafting cabinet that will allow them to be creative more often-without me needing to gather everything. They are old enough to know how to properly use and clean up their crafts. (AKA know mommy’s expectations, and what happens if they don’t clean up-goodbye crafts for the next day!) So it should be great.

Can you say 15 trash bags of stuff is cleared out of my basement 😀 How good does THAT feel.

Plus I cleaned (the day before) my ENTIRE house floor to ceiling. So everything is SPARKLING clean! AHHH!!!!

I totally cleared out all our CRAP from the basement. You know organizing it all, and our Christmas stuff and other storage stuff since it is visible from the playroom. I would INSANE if I had to look at it all messy. It was packed in one little storage corner-floor to ceiling-CRAMMED. Now all our Christmas stuff, luggage and a few other boxes fits UNDER the counter there, with LOTS of extra room-all clean and neat.

I swear I burned 8,000 calories EASY moving boxes, luggin stuff up and down the stairs, moving the OLD playroom stuff, and cleaning everything.

I have to organize when Jay isn’t home because he is a HOARDER! I think every relation ship has that ONE person who can let go of crap! LOL! Jay gets it from his mom, who may not want what YOu are getting rid of, but if she hears you are dumping it, will take it, just to save it. “I” have the attitude “Oh I haven’t missed this in the time it was gone-so GOODBYE!!!” Unless obviously it has sentimental value.

He looked at the bags and wanted to go through them! NO WAY BUDDY!! You don’t want to help clean it, then you get NO SAY as to what stays or goes. Trust me you won’t miss it!!! Did he even know ANY of what was down there?!

We now have room to grow-can easily access everything in a pinch, and will use LESS boxes to lug Christmas stuff.

I have every single doll I owned in ORIGINAL clothes, looking about as good as the day I got them as a little girl. So I know how to take care of stuff. I also decided to organize the “special” artwork my kids do that I decide is important enough to keep in one of those LONG under the bed storage bins. BOY you can hole YEARS of stuff (for all 3) in so little space with one of those.

I just feel SOOOO good right now about all of it. I should tackle the kids closets! They are HUGE walk in closets that have gotten out of control (mine included). Im a neat freak, but for some reason my closets are a mess! I guess Im a closet mess! LOL! Oh and my drawers! I know this is too much info! No one is perfect right! My drawers(despite carefully folding everything, everyday when I do laundry) always get messy. Maybe I just need ONE area that I don’t control like crazy?!

I also re-organized (AGAIN) my stamp room. I went through all my ribbon and made it nice and neat. When I was watching one of my video intro’s I about DIED when I saw how messy my ribbon racks were! That caused me to spiral into a cleaning/organizing my stamp room FRENZY-that took like 4 hours, and it was all already pretty organized. YIKES!

Can you tell I LOVE organizing?! I love the feeling of accomplishment.

Maybe I should get a job going into people homes and cleaning out their spaces for them! LOL!

Anyway-I have no idea why I shared all that! Maybe you can get inspired to finally re-organize something! TRUST ME-you will feel like a million bucks!!!!

OK I do have card to share.

I made this for Jay for Valentines Day.

    Hedgie Love

    hedgie-love.jpg

I think these Hedgies are beyond cute! They were fun to color too.

The image is called Prickly Love, which makes me think OOPS! Are they porcupines?

Oh well I see hedgies 😀 so I’m going with it

I sponged a layer of pink, and colored the hearts red. To me it was like “love is in the air” kind of feel to it

This layout was a version of my sketch 18

I had to add all the hearts to it. I think its a nice addition to the card, and REALLY says I love you. Jay likes detailed cards! LOL! He loved this one, and thought the images were adorable too.

Some years I do a serious card, other times I go cute and fun. He is less serious than I am, so I think he liked cute and fun.

Sentiment is from Love Songs set

OK signing off now. I have to get moving on some upcoming release work, and design my project for Stamp New England!! WOOT!!! WOOT!!! Sorry Im running late Julie :C

You KNOW its going to be using a NEW! My Timeless Template right!!

    OK Gotta go.

    Later

I have a FAB project to share today (well I think its FAB! LOL!)

Before I begin I really want to thank you all for the support. I was very upset yesterday and given the fact of how much time and effort goes into the videos, and I pour 110% of myself into everything I do, it was just a awful let down. I get so much joy sharing anything I do with all of you, you have no idea!

I was truly ready to just stop them if I couldn’t prevent those links from happening. I work really hard, and to find all that trash was very disheartening. I have really enjoyed the video process. SHOWING you is by far easier for ME (minus editing! LOL! But I’m getting better I think), than taking a hundred photos then TRY to explain it-KWIM?

Im so over the moon that you all get that much from it, so I will continue on! You all really lifted my spirits. I can’t thank you enough, or tell you how much your support means. You are all like an extended version of friends and family to me.

I will keep my disclaimer, and did get some AMAZING emails guiding me to some places I may want to look into loading my videos. I need to make sure there aren’t any time constrictions because it seems I’m a bit too long winded! LOL! BUT! I think you will agree its all warranted to be able to PROPERLY show you the steps, and not cut down too much. I guess it is like a virtual class. Its nice to know it helps people all over the world, and beginner stampers KNOW they CAN do it.

Think-we were ALL a beginner at one time. You have to step out of that box sometimes if you want to grow and learn. That was the whole reason for My Timeless Templates ©. To help EVERYONE (even kids) be able to make gift packaging EASY!! Then you add some imagination and you get versatility!!

Speaking of templates 😀 Remember THIS POST? Perfect Match © Goes Organizer

Well I told you I had ANOTHER idea!! More ways for you to PERSONALIZE your space, and get organized in style 😀

Using my Perfect Match Box Template © I created this adorable Tool Box Organizer!

    Created by Paulette

    tool-box.png

Now by adding decorative panels you are not only personalizing the tool box, but you are also covering the seams of the 4 boxes adhered together, AND you are reinforcing the template to hold heavier items (as seen in my photos)

NOTE: Sorry Paulette Im keepin in tools, but you can have the organizer! LOL!

     tool-caddy.jpg

Now using the same idea as the drawer organizer, I took the Perfect Match Box base template, printed it 4 times on gray cardstock, then adhered all 4 together

Here you can see the bases, adhered together, form dividers

    organizer-box.png

Now with the template, this project WHIPS together!

I made this for my friend Paulette. She is the unfortunate one who always gets the phone call when things are going awful and I need to vent. She lets me get it out, then get back to the “happy” place! LOL! Thats when I remember (usually) that there are more important things to get upset over than X. Poor Paulette. I can only imagine how insane I have made her with my blah blah blah blah blah on so many days. I kid you not!

She always lends an ear and good advice!! Thanks Paulette!! Plus it gives Jay a break from my drama 😀 He is always good about listening but how interesting can it be for a guy?!

I made this box  using some GORGEOUS Amy Butler paper (I think she is a fan of this too). I like the gray because its dark and if you get markers or “dirt” on it, it won’t really show up.

Here is the close up view of the front

    by-paulette.png

I used CraftyBella for my image, and colored (inspired by my paper colors)her to look like Paulette. Although Paulette doesn’t wear vests, or a headband-and is way cuter! LOL!

I personalized it using my JustRite Stampers Small Letter set, and my New Times Roman upper & lower case font.Pretty cute huh? I love how it appears that she is cutting the letter “t”. Trust me that took SKILLZ! LOL!

Again a SIMPLE project using the templates, that ANYONE can do to get personalized and organized.

OK signing off. I need to reorganize my basement so I can start moving toys into the playroom! YEAH! My upstairs will be clutter free!!

I don’t honestly know yet how I feel about the kids fighting playing right mext to my stamp room while I work. It could be a good or bad thing. Granted I don’t stamp TOO much when they are home, only during Craft Hour, and maybe here and there, so maybe I’ll get MORE time since I can monitor them better??

    To be continued!

    (thanks again everyone :D)

    TAC:WOW! Love Blooms

Feb 17, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Another WAY late post. I’m getting good at being behind! So unlike me.

    But I have great reasons!!

Getting a new computer nd having to transfer things over (many time unsuccessfully as out old computer would just keep CRASHING) really set a lot of my things to share behind schedule :C

I’m alos learning new photo editing software, as well as video editing software.

Then you add my new email stuff, and trying to navigate a new computer and call me CRAZY!
You may not believe me, but trust me when I tell you I am completely computer challenged. If it weren’t for my computer geek hubby walking me through most everything, step by step, NOTHING would ever get figured out by me alone.

I will say my common sense for how certain things go and my skills have greatly improved, but I would NEVER attempt to “help” anyone out.

Like driving (Im a landmark driver-no idea what highway Im on or the street names, just know HOW to get there) I just go through the motions, not even sure HOW I get there!

Im sure Im not that alone.

When I hear computer terminology (like when Jay explains something) I go into a panic!

Simple things like OK hit Control, Alt, and delete. I kid you not!

Anyway-Im working it all out, slowly but surely.

Lets move on to my LATE post, shall we?

    Blooms set

    tac-tree-set.png

Diana over at the Memory Crafter featured me at January’s WOW! Guest

    See that HERE!

I used a set by TAC (The Angel Company) called Love Blooms

Diana asked me to try TAC stamps and give my open and honest opinion.

Well I am truly an equal opportunity stamper! LOL! I love all stamps. Basically if I LOVE an image, I really don’t care HOW it is sold. Obviously the cheaper the better 😀 Be it wood mount, unmounted rubber, EZ mount, or acrylic. I’m all over what I like.

I actually perfer ANY unmounted method since I like to maximize my storage. Wood mount takes up a lot of room. Unmounted rubber with EZ mount is how these come. A great option for those who like woodmount because you get the same feel/impression as wood mount, but without the bulk of storage.

I like that little clear case the TAC sets come in too. They perfectly fit the sets you buy so you aren’t having to buy extra storage, or find something to store them in.

I actually have used TAC before, as they do have a few FAVORITE sets of mine. Whats NOT to like?

This set is really cute. I love trees. Oh and who can resist hearts?!

    Love blooms here

    tac-choice-love-blooms.png

    I adore this card.

I just stamped the trunk, then used a scallop negative to apply some shimmery pastels to my tree top. I used a gel heart from Cloud 9 for the heart image. I nice cute, 3D touch I thought. I also like the colors, and my layout on this!

    Made with love

    tac-made-with-love.png

This was a SUPER simple one.Just ran a gold marker along the edge of my labels 2 die cut image.

Just stamped my trunk, then stamped the heart leaves in berry sorbet.

Without reinking, I restamped the leaves again (moving stamp slightly up a little for shadowing).

Its all very clean, simple and easy peasy!!

Thanks to Diana for letting me give this set a try. Check out her site if you want to see more!

    Thanks for stopping by.

    VEOH VIDEO UPDATE

Feb 17, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

    Hi everyone

I had received an email that disturbed me greatly.

I was informed before this that if you clicked attached videos at the end of my videos, some of the videos had NOTHING to do with papercrafting. I was told there was R rated material.

I posted a disclaimer to NOT click any links after my videos so you don’t get taken to these sites.

That is why I post the videos to MY BLOG- so no one sees what else may be on the major video website, of which I have NO CONTROL over.

I have NO control over what is linked to my video. I specifically have to put in tags and list if content is appropriate for all (obviously my site is very clean as is its content. ) ALL my videos are How To and craft related.

I didn’t think anything “dirty” would ever get attached.

    So I got another email……..

One viewer did click the links-despite the disclaimer, and was brought to some very bad stuff. VERY BAD!

She was upset and said angry that “I” would link to that material.

“I” am not linking to that material and had no idea this stuff was getting attached to ME somehow.

My last videos linked to other stamping related videos and quite franlky should be linking to MY past videos or other stamp how to’s not X rated stuff.

I am outraged and upset this has happened. I have promptly emailed the people at Veoh about this matter and questioning why MY content would link to THAT content as it is unrelated

So PLEASE if you watch my videos HERE from Veoh-DON’T click any links!! I have no ideo what is on there or why, just know I am doing what I can to fix that.

In the meantime I may not even resume videos, as youtube is too restrictive.

Im sorry if anyone was offended, I do believe Veoh owes us all an apology. I should not even have to worry about such a thing happening.

Again Im sorry and please know I did NOT intentionally put any of that smut to follow my videos. I was just trying to find the best and easiest way to better share with the world (without it being UNDER 10 minutes) what I love to do and this happens.

    So Im done with that.

    No more.

    Sorry again.

    Hi everyone 😀

Im on a huge cleaning bender! I must have spring fever or something!!! Feels great though.

Like I said the other day I just took a  look around my house (this is usually the playroom!) and realized things were getting stuffed into corners, or put in places they did NOT belong!!! Plus I needed to DUST everything really well. Like a Spring cleaning.

We just got our carpeting in our playroom (I think making the toy room move is what really sparked all of this), so we are close to the finish line to get it organized and set up. We do want to get a Futon , so I am on the hunt for one of those this week, so our friends and family can sleep over-or the kids can LAY down and watch TV if they are sick.

I really want everything all set before the kids are on vacation next week. I am also making plans to take my niece for a few days since the kids are home 😀 Give their mom and dad some much need rest. She decided that 2am is WAKE UP time and stays up till about 6am the past few nights. She is a snuggle bug and SCREAMS if you put her down! LOL! Oh parenthood. I tried to tell them about this stuff BEFORE they had her, but they insisted they would sleep when she sleeps. Obviously its not working so well. So I will give them the break I always wished I had gotten when I had a new baby in the house-SLEEP!!

    Onto more exciting news……..

I am February’s Guest Designer for Queen Kat Designs!

    Check out their blog HERE!

They also have a forum on Paper Craft Planet

I had hoped to start posting earlier in the month but all my computer issue’s made that impossible! Poor Vicki had some major issue’s with her computer too, so between the 2 of us this is the Guest Designer Disaster of a lifetime I’m sure! LOL! I am so happy she was understanding, since she was in the SAME boat (that was sinking day by day!).

Anyway-Vicki sent me a set caller Rocker Cat, and a few items to use to spark some creativity.

Now if you know me and my style, you know this set is like nothing I have ever used before. I found it to be a great creative challenge, to get me ot of my comfort zone! That is always a good thing. You’ll have to let me know what you think. I think I made the set totally fit ME!

    Chics Rock!

    qkd-rocker-chic.jpg

This was the first card I made. I was quite happy with it.

I stamped, colored and cut the cat image, and layered it onto a heart. I repeatedly stamped my sentiment “chics rock” to make a background patterned paper. I love the layers. This actually  has a LOT of dimension. I think the adhesive rhinestones give it that extra “rocker” feel.

Now made another card with the cat image

    Happy Birthday Kat

    qkd-rock-star-bday.jpg

I have to say this one is PRETTY hot! LOL!

I stamped my cat onto acetate, then colored with my Souffle gel pens from the back.

I had some silver glitter adhesive squares that I layers onto my red cardstock mat. Then using glue dots, applied the colored cat over it.

The star was punched from DCWV glitter stack, and the happy birthday was stamped in silver encore ink.

The silver fibers were part of the kit she sent me. I think it looks pretty cool.

    Party Animal

    qkd-heart-party-animal.jpg

Now using more of the same elements this time I stamped the cat onto a die cut heart. I then made a glitter border using my gel pen and some black glitter.

I had these awesome gel heart stickers from Cloud 9 (thanks Sonia!) that were perfect!

I then stamped my sentiment on the red panel, and tied some of the ribbon & fibers to finish it off.

So there you have 3 different looks from ONE set, all using the SAME elements.

I’ll have a few more samples with this same set next week.

    Pretty funky huh?

Well that is it for me. I have LOTS of organizing to do before I get some MY TIME in 😀
