Saturday Sketch!

bike

Well its that time again!!!

I adore this Motorcycle image from the All Guy set by Lizzie Anne Designs, and the sentiment is Simply Sentiments. Its an AWESOME guy set. I made this card for Jason’s friend. He was turning 29!

I have used this set a while ago as well so here is a link to the cards from then. I hope it gives you more ideas.

The technique I used on this is called the “Donna”. Its when you stamp an image, then without re-inking keep stamping it closely together. I barely move the stamp and do it rather quickly. This makes the motor cycle seem to be in motion.

The bike was stamped (using Pallette ink in black), colored (with my Prismacolor markers), cut and layers 3 times. Each time cutting a different section for a more realisitc look.

I made the cloud coming out the back by using my 3/4 hole punch, and making a mask! Cool huh? Then just sponged some Saharah sand ink.

The patterned paper is by Imaginisce the Black Tie Optional collection.

I stitched ribbon is from www.ribbonsandbowsohmy.com

My card is 6 x 4 1/2. I hope you try the sketch and love it! I thought this card was REALLY cool, as did all the guys at the party. You know you have a winner when a group of men OOGLE a handmade card! ;D

Going with Gray! Saturday Sketch

May 26, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

OK I did it!

It wasn’t easy combining Gray in my design I must admit. After looking at that site with color combo’s I was ready to go-then it hit. My mojo was not lovin gray! No matter what I did! LOL!

So I went with Orchid as my non pink combo. Purple shades were recommended a few times, so figured why not. I will say in all, I am happy with this card. And I liked the layout. It gave a nice opportunity to create my own “patterned ” paper. I will have to try some of the other suggestions when my rut is over.

So here it is

Happy when skies are gray-

happy

Why that title? I don’t know I love the song “You are my sunshine” and sing it when I use gray. SO that is my nifty name! LOL!

SO for this card I used my Daisy Dots  stamp set, as well as Simply Sentiments . You all know how much I love my flower images. Can’t get enough. This set will be available on Monday!!! YEAH!!! Gotta love all the New Lizzie Anne sets. On my must have list is the So Swirly and Blissful Blossoms. Dont have those yet, sigh. And a few others.

OK, back to the sketch-got a little carried away when talkin about rubbah! I stamped the large solid flower randomly in gray and orchid tone of versamagic ink. Another product I use constantly. Then used  a darker purple for the open lined flower.

The flower centers are the swirly circle done using my Glue Pad, and Martha Stewart crystal glitter.

Its really pretty IRL.

The cut out flower was colored using my NEW! Twinkling H2O’s. I know I must be a cave woman having *just* purchased them for the first time 2 weeks ago. I must say- I’m in *love* with them! They are just gorgeous. I love bling and these really rock. I got 2 sets of 6. Now I must find MORE! LOL! They are so easy to use too. So if you know where I can find some PLEASE tell me!

Anyway-the ribbon on this is 2 toned and its from Michaels. I tied it through the flower center. I must say I love doing that. I then stamped the “hello” from the same set, and punched it out with my 3/4 circle punch. Popped it in the middle of a clear Foo-fa-la button and was wicked pleased.

I added the “tabs” cause something seemed to be missing. I wont even tell you how long this card took to complete. I just let out a huge sigh of relief when I was done. Dont think you will be seeing any fabulous gray combo’s from me anytime soon.

Why I feel compelled to make things I dont really like work is beyond me. Next time I will just “get over it”. LOL!

So there is the challenge sketch! I hope you will have time to try it, and link it here. ONLY condition is you CANNOT use patterned paper in the large square panel! And you dont have to use a flower, you can try a circle or square image there in place. Have fun with it. It would make a great one to use with a OSW!

See ya tomorrow- more Lizzie Anne. Sorry I can’t help it. I really love the new sets.

I’m also gearing up for my next product review. Im having a hard time deciding- more suggestions always appreciated. maybe it will help me narrow it down.

Enjoy the holiday

Saturday Sketch on Sunday :C

May 20, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Sorry Peeps!

I didnt forget the Saturday Sketch I just got caught up in the shopping I did yesterday, and was busy “playing” so didnt get to post it. Then, I spent some time with the family today. Didnt want to upset them so had to do my MOMMY duty.

Anyway better late than never right?

My Peeps, My Friends

birdie friend

So here it is! Do ya love it? I think its so cheery! Just what I was going for. Love when an idea on paper “works” in reality.

Here is the original sketch.

This layout is especially great for those smaller images you may have collecting dust or tag style stamps. I used my stamps from Green Grass for this one. They are Lil Monsters and Card Greetings . You can also view my card here

The American Crafts ribbon helped me get inspired! I love attaching ribbon with brads, onto a card. Its “different” you know what mean. PLUS its great use of those scraps.

My colors are real red, pumpkin pie, chocolate chip and cool caribbean.

Used my prismacolor markers to color the image. I thought the birdie looked like he was lookin at the other birdie. I don’t know! I just like tha layout and overall execution of this. Of course, I used my Sprite Primas. If you dont have ANY of these you are CRAZY! They are awesome! Love them. The brads are by SEI.

So I hope you get to try the challenge. If so please link it here so I can view it and comment.

Try using your ribbon to inspire your colors. Id LOVE to see what you come up with.

Thanks for playing.

Mytime Mail and a Saturday Sketch!

magazines  Happy Saturday! Lets start the weekend off with some goodies!

I received these 4 magazines from Paper Crafts, along with a lovely handmade card from one of the editors there, after receiving a submission of mine that was accepted! YAHOOOO!

I actually have all 4 of these already, so figured YOU may not! So this is the Mytime Mail!

Respond to this post with what your DREAM Mother’s Day would consist of! I’d love to read about it. It could be how you’d like to spend the day, a favorite gift, whatever you want to share. Could be a favorite memory. Just gush!

We are actually celebrating “Mother’s Day” today. Since everyone will be out tomorrow. I will go shopping (as usual) and to lunch at my favorite place TGIFridays! Love that place. I hope to stamp the rest of the day FOR FUN!!!

Noah had his FIRST T-Ball game today. OMW! More on that later. I would rather go through labor again than indure the torchure that came with him there. Wait till you see the photos!

So here is the sketch for today!

thinking of you

I made this card for a friend who just lost her grandfather. He was 99!!! OMW! I hope to live that long. Anyway I thought a Thinking of You was appropriate.

Here is the original sketch. I changed it a bit. This card is a 6×6. Love that size sometimes.

This card was done Using NEW! K & Co paper. It has a nice brushed gold effect on the flowers. Their PP is just gorgeous!

I used my sets from Green Grass called Flourishing and Card Greetings. The ink is versamagic dew drops. Its has a nice matte look. The Thinking of You was embossed with Gold. Very elegant card I thought. The flower is by Bazzill. Its their assortment pack. I love them so much!!!!

Hope you like it and have fun with it! This is the time to dust off the larger stamps you may have and use them!

If you participate in the sketch post a link here so I can comment!

I will choose the Mytime Mail winner tomorrow evening after my kids go to sleep!

Enjoy the weekend!

Saturday Sketch! And a contest!

Apr 27, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Contests, Saturday Sketch

cake wish Wow! Its already Saturday! I just got this set from My Favorite Things called “You Take The Cake”. Its so cute! You can never have enough birthday image.  Kim at MFT stamps is hosting a contest! Check it out! You could win 3 FREE sets from her store. Way cool-

Now, its time for a sketch from my book! I am in love with this combo of colors, and challenge you to give them a try!

Blush Blossom, cool caribbean, cameo coral, certain celery.

Now for the sketch- Here is the original.

Now you can see a descent difference in that one and this one. YOU may not even see where the inspiration came from! LOL! But again, its all about inspiration, not always the exact CASE.

I moved the bow from the bottom to the top so it would look like a present. I then put the tag on the opposite side of where the flower was. Instead of a stitched layer at the top, I moved the interest to the bottom, by using my cuttlebug birthday corners. In the original the corners were pierced. I also used my cuttlebug for the tag. Since the stamps are clear it was easy peasy to make the sentiment stack, instead of being a line that says “Make a Wish”

I LOVE the acrylic frame. I got it at Michaels the other day, along with the ribbon. I though it was a perfect accent. In the original card I used a metal edge frame instead.

I hope you have fun trying it out- don’t forget to link it here so we can all see what you do with it!

Saturday Sketch!

Saturday Sketch challenge is here. Are you ready for another one?

Sorry its late –SCS was down, and when that happens my blog goes down too! VERY frustrating!

So, while it was down I went shopping!!!! More on that later- I was very bad! My shopping venture will be a whole new post-trust me!

I’m also working this weekend on getting a new customized banner posted from Beth (aka My Precious). Lots of excitment going on over here.

OK, OK back to the original topic here- the sketch…….hope you like it and give it a try.

All Dressed Up!

dress up

This sketch is originally from this card. Now, I know its “different” but the point of a sketch is inspiration, not neccessarily CASE-ing it completely. I sketch most of my designs and ideas first. It really gives me a starting point, and keeps me focused.

For this card I used another one of the Bitzy Bugz. I wanted her very “girly” and some bling for her as well. She is the Dress Up one found here! I am truly enjoying these cute images. I also got this paper there too, its by Flair designs. Gotta love Paisley!

I have been dying to use my paper frills by Doodlebug.  Aren’t they cute?  The jewels are by Prima.  Polka dot ribbon is May Arts. WHEW! Alot of linking in that one. Sorry about that, but if I am to enable you I don’t want you to be frsitrated by searching for the goods you “NEED”-KWIM?

OK well I actually have MORE stamping to do, and must go post to all my PSF, and my gallery on SCS. Time has just not been on my side this last week. I’m so sorry for you all whom I have neglected!

Cyber hugs, and stay tuned for more later, on my shopping must haves! LOL!

Saturday Sketch!

sketch trio

Here is our Saturday Sketch!

I hope you have time to play this week. I told you I was going to share some of my sketches I have in my sketchbook each week, to help inspire you! There are NO rules just have fun. You will see by the original sketch, that I changed it a bit. The point is to get inspired, and get stamping!!!

Here is yet another card with my Funky Floral by Lizzy Anne . I am just lovin this line. I wanted simple, yet have some texture. The flowers are a bit “stitched” looking so that was my starting point. The awesome texture on the artichoke layer was achieved using  the weave bkgd by Cornish Heritage Farms! Its a really cool bkgd, and gives every paper that POP!

I also love this Heidi Grace double sided designer paper called Mushroom. I got that at eP. Gave me the cool combo of cameo coral, always artichoke, pumpkin pie, and pixie pink.

FOR A DOUBLE CHALLEGE try out those colors!! They really are fresh, and earthy, yet the pixie makes it scream spring!!

Supplies

Lizzie Anne Funky Floral, Cornish Heritage Farms weave bkgd

Cardstock-Sahara sand, whisper white, always artichoke, cameo coral

Ink- cameo coral, always artichoke, pumpkin pie, pixie pink, barely banana

Accessories

1 1/4 circle punch, singlo white gel pen, paper piecer, matt pack, ribbon by May Arts.

So I may “check in later” to show what I am making my kids today in case they get lost!!! Or add a post over the next few days! We will see I have a superlong to do list. If I get access in Disney then its a go!!!!! I hope you’ll check in while I’m gone. I will post some MYTIME MAIL from Disney when I get back if I’m over 10,000 hits!!!!

Pray we have a safe trip.

Saturday Sketch!

poppy trio

Who is up for a weekend Sketch? ME! ME!

So I figured I would start a weekly challenge here on my blog. Now I have added this ti the list of growing categories.

Saturdays are usually “slow” days, and I wanna get challenged again. A little inspiration never hurt anyone right? I love the sketch challenge every Wednesday at SCS, and sometimes need more inspiration by the weekend.

Well, I made a sketch book a month or so ago, and put all my favorite sketches that I designed in there. Figured I should probally USE them. Especially since I loved them to begin with. So each week I’ll be here casing myself. Pretty fun actually. Makes stamping go much faster too, since I already have my layout planned.

So, to not only inspire myself, but you as well, figured I’d share them with you each week. I hope this will get you stamping! You can do it anytime through the week, and feel free to link your creation back here if you want.

This was one of my favorite layouts. Here is the original design.

For this card I used my new Poppy Stems stamp by Stampendous. The paper was my inspiration. Its by Paper Salon. Again-bought at eP! I have a love hate relationship with their store- I love it, but my pocketbook hates it! LOL!

The scalloped circle punch is from All That Scraps. The poppy image was stamped on GLOSSY white, in black stazon, then colored with markers. You must try that! You get such vibrant color from it.

And that is pretty much it.

I have a busy weekend here. Preparing for Disney, design calls with deadlines (not complaining about that).

Noah has T-ball tryouts!

I have to go shopping (big surprise right), girl needs to look good for Disney. Want matching outfits for my girls. Can yo say Disney store! Love that place.

I want to put my cake decorating classes to good use, and make my mom her birthday cake. We will see if I actually accomplish that. She wants Pansy’s. If I do it, Ill post it here tomorrow. Plus need to make up her Easter Basket. I also wanted to make her 4 glass coasters but I think that may end up waiting for Mothers Day.

Boil eggs since we are doing our Easter tomorrow. Big egg hunt at my mom’s.

Should be fun and exhausting! How will I ever get it all done?

Happy Saturday!
