Spring: A Year in Review

Mar 3, 2012 Author: mytime | Filed under: Home decor/3-D items, My Time Made Easy

Welcome to our final day of our March Release countdown!

Today we have an amazing group post for our monthly Year in Review!

This is a favorite for all as we make something NEW! with something OLD!

The rules are simply put: use some older products and make something fresh and fun. It doesn’t have to be ALL old, it can mix and match the new with old.

We have an amazing team ready to share so stop by their blogs for a visit:

  • Debbie Marcinkiewicz
  • Farida Rone
  • Katie Cotton
  • Linda Hammerton
  • Lisa Kind
  • Lori Hairston
  • Lori Kalus
  • Mara Campbell
  • Pattie Goldman
  • Tangii Crain
  • As you’ve seen the Well Contained template is a super cute packaging option, so I wanted to use it once again today. I really can’t get enough of it. It is easy to assemble and fun to use.

The scallop topped carton is adorable all on its own! You don’t need a lot of bells and whistles to make this container POP, and I’ll show you that here today!

    Be Happy!

Keeping it quick and simple I cut the carton from the NEW! Well Contained template in red cardstock. I packaged up a travel size body wash & lotion from Bath & Body Works called Energize! Love that stuff 😀

I cut the oval layer using the NEW! Fine Finish Tag Pretty Pieces Cut File. Another product I can’t stop using this month 😀

On the tag I used a few oldie-but goodie sets

The “grass” is from the Timed Write © . The flower is from the Puckered Paper Pieces © set, and the stem is from the Sensational Digital Package © . My sentiment is from the Sentimental Occasions Labels © .

I popped out the flower center with a circle punch, and layered it onto the stem with a dimensional. I love adding POP to things. Far more appealing than FLAT projects.

Now while this carton is simply sweet, the holder makes it all the more sweeter!

The holder is every bit as simple as the carton in this sample. Just cut from plain ole’ daffodil cardstock, then added a decorative strip of coordinating paper…..

and a flower button with a shimmery leaf on either side to complete the little details.

Its all about the little finishing touches.

Now the holder can hold “other” items too. Just use your imagination!

      Easy, peasy!

    A touch of elegance…

Once again we have an day packed with some amazing gift ideas!

Today you will want to visit:

  • Now you’ve seen many projects over the last few days. With Easter on the horizon, many are cute and whimsical. I thought today I would share a more elegant approach to one of our newest templates, the Round and Round.

This template was designed to be versatile. So while it can become an Easter egg, or a basket, it can also become an elegant box too!

So I chose to use the Regal Round Up paper collection to show you a more elegant approach to this packaging. The butterfly pattern is on the top layer, and the stripe around the box is also from one of the patterns in the set.

I “lined” the inside of my box with a pattern in this set as well that is a re-colored version of the original in Freestyle Florals © . Don’t worry, that pattern within the Regal Round Up paper collection was FREE. By using dgital paper I can often re-color it to coordinate with my project! No worry about not having the right colors, using up a favorite pattern or running out ever! If you like a pattern, digitally re-color it to coordinate. I already did that here, so I included it in the pack as it was a great accent to the pack of Regal Round Up paper.

This box is packaging a very large oval bar of lavendar soap.

    It looks awesome in here!

I used the paper to pull the colors for my choice of tags from the AMAZING Round Off set. This set is so amazing. Anytime you need a tag you will find one in this set to suit every occasion. The set it FILLED with so many sentiments, it will be hard to pick which one to use first!

I chose the “This should cheer you up!” sentiment. I added the butterfly from the Spring is Here set, to my tag. I should add I made my own paper-covered brad too for the flower center 😀

I have a Silhouette Cameo now and it cuts out all my digital images! I am in LOVE with it! It cut out my tag here no problem-o! Again, I layered my Round Off tag onto a tag layer from the Fine Finish Tag cut file.

One of the MANY benefits to working with digital images is layering with EASE. I also love the perfect coloring of a multi-piece image, such as all the tags with patterns.

If this was an acrylic stamp it would be hard to get a perfect, multi-colored image! Once you save your layered/colored images you can easily go back and re-use them or re-color. You can mass produce stuff, and all your hard work isn’t in vain because you saved it and can re-use it again later.

I also love the ability to resize or mirror images too. If you want an image or sentiment from another set that typically wouldn’t fit (if it was acrylic) you can resize it so it does. Mixing and matching couldn’t get easier. That is exactly what I did with the butterfly on my tag in this project…resized, colored and layered it to fit.

Don’t be afradi to give it a try. You’re missing out if you don’t!

    Endless possibilities.

    Happiness in bloom…

Mar 1, 2012 Author: mytime | Filed under: Home decor/3-D items, My Time Made Easy

    Hello……….

Are you enjoying all the project so far this month? It’s so refreshing having so many MORE project ideas isn’t it? I love having the “dozen” designers because that means a dozen more ideas. I think we must all agree there is no such thing as too many ideas!

So for you fill of inspiration today please stop by and visit:

Today I am going to share my version of another Well Contained project that makes what is thought to be a “cute” template, an elegant one! Yes, I said elegant.

A friend of mine is getting married and wanted a wedding favor using a “carton”. That is actually why I designed this. I know, it sounds crazy. I even said so when she asked me to do this for her, and I seriously tried to talk her into something else, but she insisted.

She is getting married in April and her colors are baby blue and white. I promised her I’d try to make something elegant for her, but made no promises.

This is the final approved favor:

    Happiness in Bloom

I have to say I was quite happy with her “challenge” for me because I had a blast making these wedding favors, and think her guests will love them too. It’s very different than the standard favor box you think of when you think wedding, but obviously possible!

Given the colors, we packaged up some individually wrapper Life Savers Peppermints. They are the perfect after dinner treat, and look perfect packaged up in there!

She actually chose the life saver because of the “circle” to signify their never ending love.

The holder is quite simple, really. Just what you need when making 120ish of something!

I printed the the blue pattern from the Dotted Stripes © Collection 3 for the outside of my carton holder, leaving the inside white.

She wants to include a poem, printed on the inside of the holder, with their names and wedding date saying

Thank you for celebrating with us, as we start out new life.

Together forever as husband and wife.

These wedding memories will become a treasure,
And seeing you here is part of the pleasure.

Our dreams came true, with love and more—
Adventures to have and the world to explore.

    We’ll share our joys, we’ll share our sorrows;
We can already see many bright tomorrows.

While the carton is left plain, in the baby blue cardstock, with the sweet white scallop border.

The top is tied with a satin trimmed ribbon and one little paper 4 petal flower, with a pearl center.

The paper flower matches the flower in the tag from the Round Off set, cut using the Fine Finish Tag-oval.

The sentiment is from the Spring is Here set.

It is perfect for a wedding.

  • Enjoy the plethora of ideas and inspiration for your Spring projects!

Today I have two projects for you all.

My first project uses the NEW! Round and Round template.

Upon designing this template, I wanted it to be versatile, and that would mean be able to use it as a box, but also a pretty oval basket. So, leaving the lid off, and utilizing the handles that come with the template, I did just that!

I think we are never too old to get an Easter basket, so I made this one for my mom.

When I think Easter I think polkadots and bright colors.

I cut the basket from a fuschia cardstock. I chose to use the cheerful polka dot flower pattern from the Spreading Spring Cheer  paper collection for the bottom.  I think its seriously cute, and I love the bright colors. This is an usual color palette for me to design with, because I usually go for pastels or rich colors, not BRIGHT, but stepping out of my comfort zone was so enjoyable.

My main image was the tag from the Round Off set. I love the “egg” shaped bunny. She is too cute. I layered it onto a label I cut using the Fine Finish Tag Cut File. Not only does that cut file coordinate perfectly with the Round Off set, but it makes for some amazing tag/labels on its own too.

My mom loves Lindt Chocolates, so I placed some Lindt Carrots in here.

TIP: Place some floral foam or styrofom into the bottom of the basket so your items stand up perfectly without toppling over!

This year my mom’s birthday falls ON Easter, so it will be a great addition to her gifts. Since I was a kid I always gave her an Easter basket of goodies, and this year thought my handmade creation would be great.

My mom loves all the packages I create, as they often go to her to give out to friends, family and as of the last year, her doctors, nurses and others who have taken part in her Cancer treatments. She is doing well, while still recovering from a major surgery, it could take another year or two to fully recover. I know I cherish having her around for hopefully many more years to come. It’s been a long journey, and she wanted to give up many times, but she held strong and kept fighting!

Now I’ll move onto another “cheerful” project!

Simple can often be best, especially when we are tight on time or have MANY of something to make. I love starting my project out with a patterned paper of choice to get my color scheme going. When using a patterned paper you don’t need to do much more work to make something look amazing.

So here I let the paper do the work for me.

I chose once again to use the butterfly pattern from the Spreading Spring Cheer  paper collection to cut my Well Contained template. As I said before, you don’t NEED to use the holder that come with it. because this can be fabulous all by itself.

Since the pattern is busy all I did was add a cute & simple tag using the Round Off set. I added my sentiment from the Spring is Here set. I made the tag coordinate by using the colors from the Spreading Spring Cheer  paper collection. I cut the tag out using the Fine Finish Tag Cut File.

I love packaging up the most inexpensive items and gifting them in a way that makes that seem so much MORE! With this economy inexpensive gifts don’t have to look, or seem cheap. We go back to the idea of “It’s the thought that counts”, and it really does. Letting someone know you are thinking of them doesn’t have to be expensive!

That is why I love this project.

Wrapping up some Diet Snapple Singles is a great way to cheer up a friend.

Two separate boxes of this were just $1 each! So for $2 you have a great little gift for a friend who may be having a tough day. Think of the different beverage packets you could put in here, keeping in mind what the person you are giving it to loves to drink most 😀

It is as EASY as that!

Preview Day 2: Round & Round

Feb 28, 2012 Author: mytime | Filed under: Home decor/3-D items, My Time Made Easy

Welcome back to all you crafters new and old!

Whether you are new to this or a seasoned pro we offer a variety of coordinating products that make our easy to assemble packaging fresh and fun for all ages.

  • Debbie Marcinkiewicz
  • Farida Rone
  • Katie Cotton

  • I’m excited to share our next template for this month called Round & Round!

    Round and Round $5

Available in PDF, SVG, GSD, DXF, WPC

    Completed Project Size:

    4 3/4 X 4 Inches Around

    2 3/4 Inches Tall

This is a stunning oval shaped box, which will have your creative wheels turning “round and round” with all the possibilities this package has to offer you, all year round!

This template can be used with the lid on, or leave it off!

There are a set of handles with this template that will allow you to create a oval (or egg) shaped box or basket!

The scalloped edges on the box sides really add a nice detail to the box base and lid.

Use it as a elegant gift box for gifts of all occasions, design it to look like an Easter Egg, or make it a fun basket!

Here I went with the Easter Egg theme since Easter is only a month away, and this really is the perfect “egg” shaped box!

The top of my box was designed to look *just* like an Easter Egg!

The bunny is from the Spring is Here Stamp Set. I enlarged it, and layered the daisies from the set, onto its behind 😀 Put some bling in the flower centers too. I think it looks really cute!

My Silhouette Cameo cut the bunny out, to perfection.

I used the Random Ribbons © cut file, in coordination with the decorative oval layer to make the top of my box look just like an  Easter Egg. I got the design from the patterns on the eggs in the Spring is Here Stamp Set.

I decided to use the adorable NEW! Spreading Spring Cheer paper collection on my Round and Round box . There is an adorable bunny border pattern that made the perfect accent to the bottom of my box. On my seam I just cut out one of the Easter Eggs, and layered it over it to cover the end.

The scalloped bottom was cut in celery so it looked like the “grass”. I love having the option of a plain or scalloped layer.

If you really want to dress this packaging up pair it with our amazing set of images called Round Off ! They will really dress up the top of this package! You will also want to view coordinating Fine Finish Tag Pretty Pieces Cut File, as it too dresses up this package, but also layers the Round Off set to perfection!

    Well Contained $5

Available in PDF, SVG, GSD, DXF, WPC

    Completed Project Size:

    Carton:

    5 1/4 Inches Tall

    2 1/2 X 2 1/4 Inches Wide

Carton with Holder: 6 1/2 Inches Tall

This is a simply sweet, scallop topped carton style container, complete with carton holder!

Use them together, or each on its own, either way your gift items are sure to be well contained!

The carton itself is a wonderful container all by its lonesome, but add that cute holder, and it really takes it to a whole ‘nother level!

You can simply package up a single carton, or adhere the holders together either side by side or back to back for a super sweet treat!

Use the window cut out for a fresh peek at what is contained inside. You can also alter the cut out to suit your project needs or don’t use the cut out to add to the surprise!

I needed a quick and simple “feel better” gift for Amber’s teacher who had been under the weather. I used this template to package up some Halls Honey Cough Drops. It was the perfect holder for an entire bag, and oh so thoughtful!

I used a paper collection called Spring Abound that I designed and will be released in April (sorry about the early teaser! I couldn’t help it :D) to cut my carton from.

You will really want to check out our amazing set of images this month called

Round Off ! They will  really dress up with window of this fun package!

I layered one of the labels in the Round Off set and added my sentiment to suit my gift giving needs. I wanted to add the cute lil’chickie from our NEW! Spring is Hereset. The chickie has an optional polka dot belly pattern that I decided would be ADORABLE on this tag 😀

The tag was cut out using the Fine Finish Tag Pretty Pieces Cut File, as it too dresses up this package, but also layers the Round Off set to perfection!

A Year In Review: In Love

Feb 3, 2012 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items, My Time Made Easy

Welcome back for the final day of samples using the lastest products.

Before I share more on that, did you know that My Time Made Easy ™ LLC is sponsoring the Stamping Royalty Contest at PaperCrafts Magazine?!

     Check out the details HERE!

Today we share our Year in Review  projects which is a customer favorite, as we take our older products and make something new! This means you have an ongoing library of gift ideas and designs for products you may already have, or needed that extra push to allow yourself to indulge in!

Out theme this month is In Love. I asked the designers to take a favorite template and items and package a favorite gift item.

We are running a little short on designers this month as it has been a very BUSY January for us all! We do have some amazing projects still to share, so please pay a visit to our designers, and let them know how their projects may have inspired you!

  • Kathryn Berthiaume
  • Lisa Kind
  • Monique Hansen
  • Tangii Crain
  • Also don’t forget to apply for our Design Team! Details here: https://laurenm.splitcoaststampers.com/2012/01/30/design-team-call/

I am generally a VERY girl inspired project creator. I have been trying to NOT just make girly stuff because hey, I have a son, husband, brother and father, amongst many other MALE gift receivers to make things for! LOL! I find these designs can often be harder to achieve since I lean towards anything fun and frilly, but ANYTHING can be made masculine!

A favorite time to give gifts for me is someone’s birthday. I love making something special with that person in mind 😀 So I created a gift set with one of my favorite older templates that I’ve always wanted to make “boy” themed. I needed a gift item for Alexa’s brother Austin (from her biological father and his ex wife). He is turning 4!

This is what I came up with….

    Look who’s turning 4!

    Isn’t this so cute?

I chose to use the Shop Til You Drop © cart in combination with the Insert Card Here ©, decorated in boy themed colors.

Loving that NEW! Paper Wind My Manly Gears, inspired my colors for the entire gift set.

I digitally colored my bird from the Wind Em’ Up set, and cut it out. I had printed my ” Look who’s turning 4″ and the “Happy 4th Birthday” sentiments using the Harriet Hop-Along Birthday © set.

I love pairing old and new products 😀

You may wonder WHAT I actually packaged up in this template duo.

So one of the best gifts to give in my opinion is a gift card! A favorite gift to give and receive, for me, is a gift card. It is a no brainer. It becomes a guilt free shopping spree for the receiver and there is no worry if it is the right item, right fit, do they like it or not? Do they already have it….you get the idea 😀

What better gift for a little boy than a shopping trip to Toys R Us. Since I don’t really know exactly what Austin likes or has….this was a perfect alternative.

About my My Shop Til You Drop © cart

The base of the cart was cut out using a smokey gray cardstock.

I cut the additonal layers using an aqua color for the solid layer, and the cart cut out layer using Blue Bayou.

The wheels were cut and layered using screw brads! A fun detail that matches the details of my bird image.

Now let’s talk about the Insert Card Here © template, that holds the actual gift card.

I looked at designing the top of this much like I would have designed a card. I used the Wind My Manly Gears on the main panel, strategically placing the bird where I wanted it.

The ” Look who’s turning 4″ sentiment was cut out using the Flag Em’ Down cut file.

I added the screw brads to the color panels like on the cart.

Since the set theme has gears and screws it is a perfect detail!

I included the paper inside the box insert to tie everything together, and insert my gift card into.

All in all both of these templates came together very quickly and stood out amongst the many other gifts at the party. Most importantly it was made with little Austin in mind, using some of his favorite colors.

    Yummy Card Candy!

Feb 1, 2012 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items, My Time Made Easy

    Thanks for coming back!

The team and I have much more to share today.

    Please pay a visit to:

  • Lisa Kind
  • Tangii Crain
  • They each have a fabulous sample today using our NEW! Products.

Today I want to share a FUN gift idea using one of our NEW! Pretty Pieces Cut Files called Card Candy!

When you want to have a card and gift all in ONE!

    Card Candy $2.50

Available in PDF, SVG, GSD, DXF, WPC

    Completed Size:

    2 3/4 Inches Wide

    4 Inches Tall

    3/4 Inch Deep

This combines a two in one idea. It is a simply sweet way to create a “card” with a candy box attached! I was asked to design something like this by many customers! I’ve been sitting on it for some time now, so those of you who waited…here you go!

This is a super “sweet” idea for gifts.

My candy box here uses the NEW! Wind Em’ Up set, with the Wound Sentiments set.

My colors for digitally coloring my bird came for the super sweet Minty Chocolate © paper collection!

I had a blast adding the screw brads to the upper corner as it fit the metal like bird style perfectly with its screws! I am really loving this new set! I could use it over and over again.

Fashioned after the treat boxes I would receive each year as a child, it became a staple for every holiday to get a “candy book”. I was always amazed at the designs, and would beg my mom to use them for my friends each Valentines Day. Now that I have my own children I figured this would be perfect for simple gift giving all year round!

This front is like your card, and it has a tab insert to keep it folded closed.

    Open it up….

and you can reveal your sweetest of treats!

The box doesn’t have a window included. It is left plain so you have total creative liberty!

For the window,  I once again used the Flag Em’ Down Cut File to create my window. It was just perfect!

You can use *any* of our Pretty Pieces Cut Files to create you own window, prior to assembling, or use your die cuts or punches.

Of course I packaged up my favorite, Dove Milk Chocolates! What a great and inexpensive way to spread some love to many people! I think my own children will be using this to make their Valentines for their classmates this year 😀

Now you may wonder HOW you get your treats inside…

Just open the top flap, and pour in your candy, put in some mini soaps, some tea or cocoa.. what you want to fit in here!

OH! Don’t forget to decorate your back too!

It is always just as important as the rest of it. It is always the littlest of details that separate an amateur craft creation for the professional, finely detailed ones!

I hope this sparks your creativity for the MANY gifts you can quickly package up in here in plenty of time for Valentines Day! All our NEW! products are an instant download, so there is NO wait or delivery time/charges!

Here is WHO you should visit today for some amazing projects:

  • Kathryn Berthiaume-Square
  • Lisa Kind-Square
  • Monique Hansen-Octagon
  • Tangii Crain-Octagon
  • Now it’s my turn!

I am excited to share two samples today, using each of the NEW! Templates we’ve released as well as many other NEW! products!

Now while both templates share the same tab top feature, each one on it’s own is pretty amazing and looks unique 😀

    Pull Tab Up: Square $5

Available in PDF, SVG, GSD, DXF, WPC

    Completed Project Size:

    3 1/2 X 3 1/2 Inches Wide

    3 1/2 Inches Tall

This  “pull-up-tab” takes the “plain” out of what would be a typical square box!

This was designed after pulling off the tab on a tissue box, and combining that with the tab tuck in feature on some boxed candy. You will see how the inspiration inspired a pull up tab that opens up the top of this box.

This box is so fun, fresh, and easy to assemble, that it is sure to quickly become a favorite for every occasion.

My sample here was make from a fuchsia cardstock.

I then printed, cut and layered my pretty Wind My Girly Gears patterned paper on the sides and back of the box.

Using the colors from the paper, I digitally colored the bird from the Wind Em’ Up set, then cut it out.

Prior to assembling the template I used the Flag’Em Down Cut File to create the window in the front of my box, and further enlarged it to cut the pink mat layer as well. I printed my sentiment “You wind-up my heart” from the Wound Sentiments set on my acetate sheet, and adhered it to the inside of the box.

This was such a FUN and SIMPLE project. Now I have something special, ready to go for a great gift 😀

Now I wanted to create a more masculine themed box, so I decided to use the Octagon template with a masculine flair!

    Pull Tab Up: Octagon $5

Available in PDF, SVG, GSD, DXF, WPC

    Completed Project Size:

    4 1/4 X 3 1/2 Inches Wide

    3 Inches Tall

This gear shaped (octagon) box is a unique take on its “sister” box, the Pull Tab Up: Square. Sometimes you want something that LOOKS more complicated than it actually is. This is a awesome shaped template for SO many occasions.

Upon assembling the Pick of the Petals box for a gift several months ago (OK maybe like a year ago! LOL!), I was inspired to take the fun pull tab design of the Pull Tab Up: Square , and designed an octagon shaped one too.

This box shape is so fun, fresh, and easy to assemble that it is sure to quickly become a favorite for every occasion.

Now how about the details on this creation!

So, to go with the bird theme I used the Trendy Forest © paper collection for my sample. It was a no brainer really. You think birds, then you think trees. I wanted something I could give to my husband this Valentines Day and I think this will be perfect.

I  chose to use the colors from the paper collection to then digitally color the bird from the Wind Em’ Upset, then used my Cameo Silhouette cut it out. I love that the machine can cut out your digital images to perfection. No more handcutting for me!

I printed my sentiment “You make my heart” from the Wound Sentiments set and put it on the heart wind up on the bird. I then took the “sing” from the sentiment and placed it on my bird’s wing. I love it. I proceeded to digitally color the heart gear from the Wind Em’ Up set as well, and add it to my box.
