amber 3 This is Amber. I love this photo. It was taken the other day while she was “deep in thought”. What does a soon-to-be 3 year old think of? So serious.

I cannot believe she will be THREE. Time flies so quickly.

When I envision Angels this is the face I see. I really think she looks like one.

Blue eyes, long eyelashes, and curly blonde hair.   full 3

My BABY. Growing up. I know this is the face I will see even at 20. Where does the time go?

Just wanted to share these 2 photos. I LOVE them. I may even get inspired to make a altered frame for them.

Clearly Thankful

Jen (aka genie1314) posted a challenge today to ONLY use clear acrylic stamps! WAHOOOOOOO! Where do I start? I have just about every MFT stamp set made (happy dance).

When I FIRST tried acrylic stamps I have to say in all honesty I HATED un mounted images PERIOD! Acrylix, cling or ezmount- I was like yuck too much work.

WOW how times change people. The more I used them the more I grew to love them. I even prefer UM now! I love no trimming for the most part. The storage is HUGE No worries how I mount them (Im a perfectionist for that) and I can see where its positioned.

At first I had a hard time with the acrylic getting a good image, but quickly learned that for those,I place a mousepad under my cardstock, then stamp it. This helps alot.  I dont get the squished gummy bear look/feel. So try it.

Plus once you get use to taking them on and off the blocks- easy peasy. I have alot of acrylic blocks in various sizes so that helps.

OK back to the challenge!

So I thought not only would I use clear stamps, but add a see through layer using my stamps as well.

That being said, I stamped the sentiment (thank you block) from Behind the Scenes on vellum cardstock.

I love the paper used on it. Its by DMD, and was found at Target. It was also used on my card done yesterday.

The trees are from the newly released Falling for you set. There is a mini sneak peak set used on this card too-Im not tellin!

I love that I made this card in like a whopping 7 minutes! Now that is cool.

My favorite flower is tiger lilys but I can’t have them that often in the house as they are poisinous to my cats, so I enjoy them in other people’s yards in my neighbourhood.

Favored floral stamp set…that really is a hard one, I just don’t know, I do know that I have quite a few of them but I haven’t used them often enough to know their names, I like the SU’s spring set with the matching punch as I have both and have used both quite a bit lately…

    Hope you enjoy you summer

MYTIME MAIL! Dont forget ONE more day to win this!

And today’s MYTIME MAIL!!!!! Templates! I love tmeplates! This is one cloud template, one envelope template and a Fun Fill classy brass stencil, and stylus! Pretty cool.

Today, after Alexa gets home from school a friend of mine and her daughter went to  Kaleidoscope (a childrens play/learning place) and Friendly’s for lunch.

Now lets hope they all go to bed at a descent hour.

I am having TORTUROUS THREES issues with my angel.

amber church This is Amber in Church. ALMOST 3.

While she looks angelic and get away with murder, we are starting to pay for our ways now! Our other two we are quite strict (I think), and her, well I think cause she is my BABY, she just slides on through. She totally knows how to “work it” too. She will seriously flash her eyes, and say the sweetest thing, followed by a kiss. She has the cutest little girl voice ever. With her blonde ringlets she looks like a little angel. See can you tell Im just in complete trouble.

Anyway last night she had a full blown screeching tantrum at 11pm! She wanted a video in her BED! Um NO!!!!!!!!!!! Daddy was like-Oh So what, whats the big deal let her have the TV (portable DVD) in bed with her. Then we can get some sleep.

HOLY bad habit forming! NO WAY! Im like Im not even going tot start this bad trend. The other 2 never have and never will take a TV to bed! Anyway 45 minutes of screeching (I just went to bed while she screamed) she then quietly came down and said Im going to sleep now.

I WON! Yeah! I know that sounds childish but it really is a victory! Its hard NOT to give in sometimes, just thinking OH JUST today! Yeah right. Next thing you know the tantrums get longer cause they know you will cave-eventually!

Obviously Im by no means top parent. I was just proud of this small victory, of many battles to come. Cant wait for the teen years! Its really hard when you  are home all day and these little things happend throught the day over and over to wear you out.

Anyway. If you have or have had a 3 year old. I know you feel my pain. If you are a new mom or mom to be and are reading thing TRUST ME! You will hit this stage. No matter how good and sweet, they ALL do it.

    And good luck with it.

So back to the mytime mail

Id LOVE to hear an OH GOD Ive turned into my mother story, a tantrum story, anything like that. If you dont have children or just want to share, Id love to hear something your mom did that you swear YOU will never do!

    Here is mine

My mother use to lick her fingers to clean our face! OMG! GROSS! I swore I’d never do that! Then ONE day, Alexa was about 2, we were going to an appointment and she had ketchup on her cheek. I always wanted her lookin super cute and had no napkin or diaper wipe handy. Then I ALMOST did that disgusting thing, as I quickly licked my finger-I about DIED to realize I ALMOST did the thing I hated my mom doing most!

I’ll never forget it! Its just one of those things.

Once again Ill share my favorite quote “I was a much better mother before I became one!”

    Good luck with winning.

I have another MYTIME MAIL to Post Saturday as well as the Sketch!

Ill draw the random winner for this one On Sunday!

Cant wait to read your stories!

Jul 18, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

I feel so special! Kristin (aka KED) tagged my blog as one of her top 5 Rockin blogs :D. Kristen has one of my favorite SCS galleries, and designs with me on the MFT stamps design team.

Now its my turn to tag 5 blogs that I love and why. WOW! That is really hard! I love so many. So in alphabetical order-

We all know AmyR- She had one of the first blogs evah! I think that is very cool. We have become great friends and I love peeking in on what she is up to. We pretty much talk on the phone everyday and discuss stamping everything! LOL!

Bethany Paul– I love her style. Its very fresh and fun. Plus she is one of those super sweet people that comment on everyone creations/blog posts.

The Craft Critique-not sure if that “counts” cause its a collective blog-but its great for all the cool stuff it has there! You can find product reviews links to other blogs, cool contests. You name it. AND NO I didnt pick it cause I am going to be a featured reporter! I really think its an amazing source of info.

Jen (aka genie1314)-I just love Jens style. I also love the her hubby chimes in now and again with his views.

Jeanne-well not only is Jeanne funny, but her coloring is just jaw dropping. When I grow up I weanna color like Jeanne! Im sure you all know who she is……..

There are again, alot more Id LOVE to add. Seriously if they are in my blogroll to the left-I love them! Also there are some that Im sure I have failed to link and should :C

Its all about the paper and ink

Jul 13, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: My Stamping Space, Uncategorized

Ok so I think this is the last of my organizational ramblings. Bored to death yet?

Well, if not, then read on. I really hope ALL this typing has helped at least ONE person either find an organziation idea, inspire them to create their own space, or heck clean it! LOL! Anything you got from these posts would be great.

So I guess we will get to it.

Its all about the paper-Well I store my paper in several ways! ON my desk are these black plastic letter tray organizers. I got them at Target. They came 2in a package, and sold for $3.99. I couldn’t find them online (they were like $17.99 there) but the one HERE is similar to what I use.

I have a compartment for each color group-purples, greens, red, pinks, white, neutrals-you get it.

These sit on my desk and are open and easily accessible! I have no problem fitting all my cardstock there.

See photo below. you can see the letter trays on my counter.

paper storage click to view larger image.

Now in the cabinet just below my workspace, I have MORE cardstock. I have these organized in a way cool paper storage shelf I got a Sam’s Club. HERE is the 12 compartment organizer. Its like the best buy ever!!!! It was like $14.95.

This is on the bottom shelf and it is all my BACKUP packs. I always have to have 1 un-opened pack at all times! The minute it gets opened I put it on a list to order more. I am terrfied of running out! I ran out of Whisper White ONCE!!! Never again! A kind fellow SCS send me 2 pkgs! Isnt that sweet?

Next to it in the plastic organizers is my 8 1/2 x 11 Prism cardstock, and magazine that I have been published in.

Top shelf- 6×6 paper packs, and my mini punches. Also some HPH kits etc.

12 x12 This is a shelf with all my 12 X 12 papers. My scrap kits and whatnot. All in Plastic storage holders.

caddy This is a 6 stack drawer storage for more 12 x 12 paper! It was like $14.95 on sale at Target. Love sales.

The white thing, is a storage box/cube I got on clearance at Staples (originally $75 on sale for $25! They no longer carry it I believe). It houses all my (well ok not all but my soon to be used) alter-ables. I LOVE it! The bad part-took me 3 HOURS to put together! Can you believe it? It has lots of cool compartments though, and wheels around with ease.

colors in cabinet This is my cabinet with all my markers, versamagic dew drops, twinkling h2o’s, and other stuff to color!

You wouldn’t believe how much I own! Gosh! Fills the thing. But you can never have enough color tools right????

Now for my ink pads-Im totally down with the good ole’ Stampin Up! ink Caddy. I dont care what anyone says I LOVE mine. You can see ONE to the right. I have 2 total. My re-inkers are on top. One has Craft the other classic ink. I ordered another ready extender cause I have the ROOM now! Yeah! Before my shelves were too low.

You can also see more paper organization to the left.

embellishments All my embellies are in this cabinet. Each has a place. Embossing powders in one, pearlex and flock. Eyelets and brads, buttons and jewels. I have the Stack n Store container coming on the 17th! I cannot wait!!!!!!!! Its super easy for me to locate all my stuff using my system here.

    Well Im exhausted now.

    Hope you enjoyed that ramble.

WOW! Its so fun when you all interact with me and tell my your stories.

I also find less people respond when they have to “work” for mytime mail! LOL! Interesting!

Are you all getting your email updates to my blog? I want sure if that got screwed up when SCS crashed. I have my self notified to make sure it “works” and I havent gottne anything! HMMMMMMMMM.

Well, onto the MYTIME Mail winner. I randomly selected via computer #10 Ashley Dean

    Please email me your address!

    Here is what Ashley wrote-

Love your greeter story. Too cute!

One of my most memorable moments was when my water broke. I was home alone and my sister (who was living with us) came in while I was sitting on the toilet trying to figure out what to do. I called the doctor at home who told me to go to the hospital. My husband was a street patrol officer so I had to call dispatch (this was before cell phones) and have her contact him on the radio that my water broke. So now the whole county knows it too. His partner that night is also a paramedic/RN. Ed tells my DH that with a first baby I’ll be in labor for a long time and he needs to eat now before getting to the hospital. So off they go to eat dinner. Meanwhile I’m still sitting at home waiting. An hour and a half later he walks in and I’m freaking out. He takes off his uniform and gets in the SHOWER! I was sooo PO’d. By the time we make it to the hospital – which is only 2 miles from the house – the doctor and both our families are there waiting including his sister who drove up from San Antonio (80 miles). Our son was born a couple of hours later.

When I tell people this story and about how upset I was about it Roger always reminds me that he did have time to eat dinner and take a shower.

Well I hope to get SOMETHING done for later today, so dont forget to check in again. Cross your fingers. Its crazy here the next couple of days.
