Its Sketch time! CLASS cancellation alert.

Oct 18, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

WOW! I feel rusty! LOL!

First let me say due to some family/scheduling issue’s, I have had to cancel my classes at The Paper Tree on the 25th! Sorry to anyone who has signed up. There is a lot going on here, and I cannot work that day, due to some other unforeseen things.

That being said, I did notify Michelle over a week ago, and they ARE still listed on the site schedule, so I am hoping she forgot to take it down this past week. If you have signed up for those classes, please contact Michelle. I won’t be there, so I don’t want anyone signing up, or going out of their way to get there.

OK now for today’s post….

I missed last week’s sketch because of the announcement of My Timeless Templates ©, so it feels like forever since I have done this, even though it hasn’t been long. This has been so amazing, and I appreciate all of you being so supportive (I know I keep saying it, but that is because I mean it :D)

I have to say, as a result of everything, my MOJO is g-o-n-e! This happens to me every month after the big release. Its my Papertrey Ink hangover, I like to call it! LOL! Especially after all my buzz with my own line of stuff, that really knocked me for a loop! LOL! No worries, it should be forced back over the next few days.

Anyway, I am back with the sketch this week!

gently-falling-snowflakes-sketch-by-lauren-meader.png

If loading to a gellery use KEYWORD: mytimesssnowflakes

Given my low mojo, I decided the the team and I would use my sketch from my Gently Falling Snow card 😀 I loved that sketch!

I wanted to do something entirely different than what I ended up with, but hey whatever works right!

I recently picked up some more of the newest Magnolia images 😀 I get mine from here: Maganolia-licious. I have had them for at least a week, and they needed a little love.

This little girl reminds me of Amber!

Country Girl

magnolia-sketch.jpg

Now for the girl- she is the larger block on my sketch, and the bail of hay is the smaller block! I thought it was a cute, and different take on the sketch, so I went with it.

I stamped her and cut out her legs, so she “sits” on the hay!

The hay was stamped on barely banana then sponged and whatnot to look like real hay. I think she’s just so cute.

I just got this sentiment from the Harmony Classic Circle III. I used the sentiment without any of the borders. I feel like I get so many options with all those stampers. I can use a cool border, not use a border, combine a sentiment/border etc. I like that they are now having sentiments, as well.

Then I spritzed some olive color 😀

I wish this turned out a bit better, but I am totally drained, and am taking tomorrow off! I need a break.

In the meantime, if you get to try the sketch, send us a link here so we can see your take on it.

Be sure you look at what ther Sketch Team had created!

    World Card Making Day Sketch

Oct 4, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch, Uncategorized

Well today is World Card Making Day. YEAH! I love an stamping “holiday”.

Unfortunately, I will not be celebrating by stamping, but I will be celebrating in another way. I am going to be having a blast at Amber’s birthday party today 😀 So Im off and running.

So my time here in blog land is very short. I will return with more to post (sneak peek stuff), but figured I better get to posting the sketch for those of you who wait for it 😀

    This week’s keyword is mytimess08

    mytimess08.png

This should be a fun one. I wish I had more time to play and do another, but I have a busy week here. I think flipping it would be cool too.

So, that being said here is my take on the sketch-

    peace-sketch.jpg

    Peace

It does say peace to me. Very calm looking, yet a little elegant.

I made this in pink’s (sweet blush, and regal rose, with a touch of olive) because of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Someone we know has a recent diagnosis, and this will be getting sent her way.

I used the In the Meadow set by Lizzie Anne Designs. Their Fall Release is today as well.

I colored my flowers, direct to stamp, with markers. My white layer is 1 X 3 1/2. Olive Layer is 1 1/4 X 3 3/4, if you are looking for an easy layout for the typical A2 size card.

I ran my gold maker quickly along the edges for a touch if gold in my border. I think it looks really pretty. Subtle and soft.

OK I need to run. Busy day, but I’ll be back later 😀

I can’t wait to see what you all do with the sketch this week!

Make sure you check out the team-

My time + Saturday = Sketch time!

Sep 26, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Well, I think you know what time it is! Sketch time! OK this is a LITTLE early……….but Im sure you won’t mind, right?

I’m marking off what is non-stamp related for those who don’t want to read the random ramblings. I went off deep into thought. I do ask for some advice in the paragraph so if you are a teacher or parent (especially of an older child with special needs=please read) Stamp related is after scored areas 😀

    thanks

    —————————————————————————————

I have so much stuff to share its crazy! Both craft and family related. The next few weeks here are going to be filled with some amazing things-I swear!

I want so much to share the fun things we did with the kids this week, but will do that tomorrow. We have been to Canobie lake, apple picking, and the to Fair. I have some great photos.  Tomorrow is also Alexa’s birthday party! I cannot even believe my baby is going to be 9- officially on Monday! Seems like yesterday I was pregnant with her, so unsure of what her future would hold. Worrying about so many unforeseen things, and soon learning there is a reason we aren’t meant to see the future, and to take life ONE DAY AT A TIME. Enjoy today and be thankful for it, because who knows what is to come tomorrow.

While its been a rollercoaster (to say the least) I wouldn’t have it any other way. Alexa is truly an amazing person. Her 9 years so far in my life have changed me internally, forever, in ways I think everyone should experience. Ways that can’t be taught, just lived. To see the world through her can be amazing, refreshing, and insanely heartbreaking all in the same breath. You see the good people in the world, and the ugly, all in the same day. You see how simple things can be for others, is the biggest of achievements for her. I wish I did see some of it beforehand. She has done so well. She continues to overcome things that hold her back. She is ever-changing, and always striving to improve. Alexa is amazing.

I was going through the store thinking-what so you buy a 9 year old! Its a hard age. Shes getting older so I don’t want to buy her “baby” things, yet too young to buy older things.

I did find this AWESOME cupcake maker!! “I” am excited over this thing. Not sure if I bought it for HER or ME! LOL! Seriously cool. I hope to get her using it, and get some fun photos. I even got her the apron and chef hat, with lots of cupcake refills/frosting. The cool thing is these cupcakes cook in the microwave in 30 seconds! Then it has this awesome frosting “machine”. Oh yippy skippy, I truly can’t wait. I also bought her this TAG reader pen. I want to encourage her to expand her reading skills.

On another note MATH is KILLING us here. She is having a very hard time with it. Im not sure if people with Down Syndrome have a different technique to learning this skill, but this is proving to be a very tough subject for her to grasp. You have to remember Alexa is my first child. What I like to call the practice kid! LOL! The first one always gets everything the worst. You have NO IDEA what you are doing, and I think you expect more fo them. I tend to be stricter, and had much more will-power for the “no” stuff with the first. Plus they get your undivided attention for X years, till the next one comes along. The bad part is everything she does-is “normal” to me. I often don’t realize some things until I see other kids her age, or one of her siblings can do things she cannot yet master (this is generally the physical stuff, but some is cognitive-like safety awareness). That is also hard to see sometimes too. Something people don’t think you notice, but you do. She didn’t walk till she was 3! That was so hard. I’d see little 7 month old babies starting to pull up. She just didn’t have the stregnth to do that, and was happy as a clam to sit quietly and play. She had no desire to walk, afterall she could get where she needed to go by crawling, or later cruising.

So, to the present-she can count and all that, and is good with learning money and whatnot, but the majority of the math is becoming very hard for her. I don’t ever like making “excuses” for her, but I think this is a true obstacle. That being said, anyone out there (teachers or other parents) if you know a great learning program or have tips PLEASE contact me. I really need Alexa to get this and be able to grasp the addition and subtraction. This is a vital LIFE skill, in order to promote her independence. We are now cutting out parts of the math program that aren’t vital for her to know so she can grasp onto this concept. We aren’t sure how to help teach her this as she truly looks blankly at us, and doesn’t seem to understand exactly what we want when we are asking her to add 3 + 9 etc. So anything helpful and FUN is a plus. Alexa is a visual person and needs LOTS of repetition and anything hands on is a PLUS!! Thanks in adnvance-even if you can’t help, but because you “listened”

OK that went WAY off base! You can tell where my mind is-jeeze! Sorry about that.

    —————————————————————————————–

I have to say I was inspired by my own card last week. Not just the sketch, but the colors and stamp set. So I wasn’t going to limit my creativity just because I was inspired by a previous creation, so I went with it!

    Besides, circles are HOT!

    mytimess07.png

Keyword -mytimess07 if you decide to upload to a gallery anywhere.

Send us a link if you decide to give the sketch a try. I do my very best to visit each persons creation done with the sketch. Which is great because it gets me hopping around blog to blog, gallery to gallery, which I otherwise don’t get to do much of-sadly. AND there are SOOOOOO many blogs! WOW! Its hard to keep up. By doing this I am able to find new talent, I never knew about. You are all quite amazing 😀

    Now for my sample

    remembering-to-thank-you.jpg

    Remembering to thank you-

I need to make like a 100 of those! I have a huge list I still need to send out. HUGE! The sentiment is one of my favorites too.

These colors are the same as last week- Vintage Cream, Kraft,  spring moss, and dark chocolate and used the inks to match .  If you haven’t noticed, Remember is one of my favorite sets! I think I used it for like 4 Saturday Sketches! That doesn’t include random stuff.

As you can see my “circles” weren’t literal. I just used my flowers as my circles. Use the sketch in a way that YOU see it. Don’t limit yourself!

I love the overlapping look. I also LOVE my main focal point. This was one of those cards that I just adored when done. I used my circle nestabilties for this, as well as the tag nestabilities. Some of my favorite things. I think nestabilities are the best thing they have ever invented for stampers-next to the ATG Gun, Scor-Pal, and my Copic Makers!

Well that is it for today. I cannot wait to see what YOU do with it. In the meantime why don’t you check and see what my sketch team has envisioned using the sketch : (note their posts won’t go live till Satuday)

    Pretty Poppy Sketch Time

Sep 20, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Happy Saturday!! My favorite day of the week by far.

I hope you have some stamping time planned this week. As you know it is Sketch Time! I am really happy with this weeks challenge! I know I had a blast with it.

Sorry for my “sketch”. Im not good at making a scallop border-yet! YIKES!

Again the sketch is to get you STAMPING! Go with whatever inspires you-OK!

    mytimess06.png

Keyword mytimess06-send us a link here if you decide to give it a try so we can all see your take on the challenge! It is definitely fun for me to see what people do with it.

Now I will share my take on it.

I LOVE using circles-LOVE! No idea why, but they are my favorite things to add to a card. So this was a fun sketch for me personally 😀

    pti-pretty-poppy.jpg

    Pretty Poppies-POP!

I decided to make my entire card a scallop. Im loving Vintage Cream, Kraft,  spring moss, and dark chocolate-YUM!! I chose those colors with the inks to match for this creation. I used Lisa’s set Remember. I just love the open, and solid images paired together. I can’t NOT use them.

I saw this circle layer as a window, not an “layer”. I want you to use it in a way YOU see it though. Doesn’t have to be like mine OK!

For this card I stamped my flowers on the cream base first. Mounted that layer onto a scallop square  card base in Kraft cardstock. I then cut my spring moss square, and layered it onto the chocolate. Took my circle nestablity, and die cut the center. Layered it over my card base with dimensionals, and I then had a nice “window” effect 😀

You know I LOVE my Martha Stewart butterfly punch, so I HAD to use that too, making a vellumbutterfly:D Just perfect isn’t it? I love dimension. For more interest I added a tasb tag, and tied on some satin chocolate ribbon.

This inside is left blank, until I know what I need it for. This looks like a great ANY occasion card, so its nice to keep those around for when you need a quick card, but have no time.

Granted I SAY this, but I never do it! I always have to MAKE a new one. Its a weird hang up I have. At least I use my stamps though right?!

Well Enjoy the sketch! I cannot even wait to see what you do! In the meantime, check out my Sketch Team’s take on the sketch! Oh and show some love 😀 They work hard every weekend to get their version done for you for more inspiring ideas 😀

    Sketch time- Double take

Sep 13, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

I know-I am never creative with my blog post name on sketch days! I don’t know WHY! It isn’t really necessary though is it?

Anyway, I have a very different sketch for you today. I have to be honest-it was a difficult one for me, but I did manage to get 2 samples done for you!! WAHOO!! I usually make my sketches FIRST, create after. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the sketch, it was just a little challenging. I think it was because I had a few images I HAD to use for cards I needed. Having said that, I HAD to use my Bella’s. These two in particular. I have missed them so much lately . I also had birthday cards that needed making, so figured it was the perfect time!

mytimess05 is the keyword, should you need one for uploading to SCS.

    mytimess05.png

YOGABELLA-she has gone uninked for longer than I care to admit. But I LOVE her.

    deep-breath.jpg

    Deep Breath

This one is for my friend Erin. Her birthday was the 13th. I bought her this awesome workout video (and medicine ball)I have been doing for 4 weeks (hello lost at least 3 inches everywhere in 4 weeks! Not too shabby eh?! I forgot to measure when I originally started but have lost 2 sizes :D). It is called Melt it off with Mitch Gaylord. OH boy let me tell you, it works!! I still can’t do some of the exercises but try to do what I can. There are 4 or 5 different workouts, and even one called the Perfect 10, which can be done in 10 minutes. Seriously if you can’t find 10 minutes, thats insane.

So, anyway……she had a baby a few months ago and is having a hard time shedding the last of the baby weight.

NOTE: “I” don’t think that-those were HER words! LOL! I am not one of those people who is like “HERE! You need to lose some weight!” Its something she talks about every time we talk. It has worked wonders for me, so I hope it helps her as well.

So that being said I thought Yogabella was the perfect addition to the gift. I wish I had owned weightwatchabella, but sadly I don’t :C She is on “the list” though. I did change my card a bit to fit my theme and elements of my card. This is a 4 3/4 X 5 1/2 size. The goal is inspiration! LOL!

Next up, my friends son is turning 2!! We have his party next weekend, so by a miracle I am ahead of the game! I think he looks just like this boy. (Sorry for the photos-I took them this morning with little lighting, due to sheer laziness)

    birhtdya-boy.jpg

    Birthday Boy

This is miniwagonfella. Yes, another uninked for too long. I think he is just the cutest though, and really fit my layout! I was inspired by my pack of paper by Making Memories. Its great boy themed party paper!! I used my cuttlebug baby face alphabet to create the #2. The sentiment is from Its a celebration set.

I wanted to do what I call a faux layer-so I pierced the “faux” layer for some more detail. I have done this on many of my creations over the years when I am “stumped” for a “little” something, but don’t want to over do it. This is usually a great solution. Plus I felt in this case, it brings your eye to the #2.

I think his mom will like the card. Let’s be realistic, 2 year olds don’t care. I make cards more for self satisfaction thatn anything 😀

    SO, there you have it!

I hope you like the sketch today, and get some time to give it a go! Send us a link here so we can all view your take on it.

    Sketchy Sketchy-Peeky Peeky

Sep 6, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Thanks for all the love everyone about me becoming an aunt! I can’t believe how excited I really am.

I am so enjoying the weekly sketch, I have to say that everyone who participates is REALLY rockin them out! So thank you for participating, as it is pure joy for me to check out your take on it.

sSo that being said, its sketchy sketchy time-

This week is a simple design that I had fun using.

    mytimess04.png

Feel free to use the keyword mytimess04 if you upload to a gallery (code not required-just easy to locate others) Use your creative liberty to interpret the sketch any way that gets those creative juices flowing!

Here is my simple sample using really rust, basic black, and ivory-with a touch of copper.

    unity-sketch-daydream.jpg

    daydream-

I love that sentiment! You cannot tell by the photo but the flower is colored with copper pearl-ex and Future Floor Wax! Nice shimmer

These images  are from last months KOTM from Unity. I caved and got a subscription 😀 This is my first time using it though. I would love to have played more. I think I will. I am going to re-do my sketch. More to come!

It has been SO HOT here, and my mojo is so lacking-as evidenced by my card :C Oh well, it shall come home eventually. Im just in a hole of making things Im not crazy about. I know we all have those days.

Don’t miss the sketch team and their take this week! I am sure you will be inspired to give it a go!

    count-bear.jpg The count

Is he not adorable? I love him. He is from C.C. Designs newest (to be released) set called Spooky Spooky Spooky, and is being released on the 9th! Don’t miss your chance to win this set and more peeks/details HERE!

I just cut a card box in 1/2 and put in a bag of sour gummy worms. I could NOT open the bag for fear I would eat them! This design team stuff is hard making samples for all these YUMMY holidays when you are avoiding all this stuff. I am doing so good on my new healthy lifestyle I dont want to go south! The best part is when people who have no idea you are working out say “Oh my gosh! You look great!” That happened to me yesterday!! Amber’s pre-K teachers just looked at me said you must have lost a ton of weight 😀 You look so skinny! YEAH! That felt awesome to hear. I don’t own a scale but have been working out daily, and eatting healthy for 4 weeks and am noticing a big difference in my clothing. Even more so, over 2 weeks without coffee! THAT is insane. Not too much more to go. I am totally going to get to my goal this time.

OK back to the projects-sorry I got a little off track there. If you could be in my brain for 5 minutes……..you’d have a headache. It just runs and runs.

Again Im not thrilled with this complete project but I was happy with the coloring 😀 I will have to make more samples when the mojo is back. I think its the heat? Its leaving me s uninspired these days.

Well enjoy the weekend. Tomorrow I have MORE peeks and a fun tip to share to get your hiney in shape and give you some “puter time too!

    Later!

    SKETCHY Time

Aug 30, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Papertrey Newsletter, Saturday Sketch

Well as you know every Saturday I host a sketch challenge. I know I have made mention before………but just in case you are new here-There is NO time limit. Just play when you can. I just want you all to get motivated! There are no real “rules”, just go with what inspires you!

This weeks sketch uses the KEYWORD mytimess03. So if you upload somewhere-like www.splitcoaststampers.com that would be great to use. Just send us a link here, so we can view your creation!

I am having fun using the Corel PaintShop Pro for these.

    Hope you like it.

    mytimess03.png

This week my sketch allowed me to seriously WHIP OUT, a card for my friend’s 30th birthday. I didn’t want to FOCUS on the fact she just turned 30, and I was late (of course) getting her, her gift :C by like OVER a month. I HAD the gift, I just didn’t SEE her.  So I went with “3”.

    So here it is

    tanyas-gift.jpg Thirty

    THE SUPPLIES:

    Cards is typical A2 size

I used Papertrey Ink Floral Frenzy, and Border’s & Corners square set.For cardstock I chose Papertrey Ink white (there is NOTHING better!) , Aqua mist, vellum cardstock(for the butterfly -a Martha Stewart punch) along with a weave patterned paper by Martha Stewart. Ribbon is Also Martha. Buttons SEI,and Martha cardstock/ink in tealish color. Lets not forget my square punches.

    Details:

Do you see the little gifts in the back? They are wrapped with Martha Stewart wrapping paper. They totally inspired me to create this card “to match”.

I began by randomly stamping/overlapping my squares. I used a hobby blade to make slits, for my ribbon to pass through. That is one of my favorite things to do.

I then stamped my flowers, on my weaved paper, and layered punched out. I made sure they weren’t all “centered”. I then adhered each one onto the tealish cardstock. LOTS of dimension to this. I LOVE my dimensionals 😀

Be sure you check out the team! I am certain they will inspire you further!

Today is our wedding anniversary!! (and the sketch, but Ill get to that!)

    52720024.JPG

Jason and I eloped, and got married IN Hawaii, on the beach. (Fun times getting that dress there in ONE piece!)

My dress was BEAUTIFUL!!! You cannot see in the photo, but there are little purple rhinestones all over it! See I told you I LOVE purple!!! Jay didn’t want to wear a purple shirt, but it was the beginning of him having little say! LOL! OK Just kidding. He gets enough say! LOL! No, seriously he agreed it would look nice to match, even though he wasn’t that thrilled.

I tell the ENTIRE story and have a Smilebox photo album for those of you who may want to see more ——>HERE!

Wow has time past so quickly. Back then I never thought I could love Jason anymore than I already did. Boy was I wrong. Sappy I know! But if you knew him, you’d love him too. He is the most amazing person. Truly.

    wedding-2.jpg

We had a traditional Christian/Hawaiian Wedding. It was SO amazing. Part of our wedding vows were taken from a card Jason gave me while we were dating! It was beautiful. We both got all teary. I’ll never forget it. PERFECT DAY.

     wedding-photo-1.jpg

We got married on a private beach in Turtle Bay, Maui.  Just him and I! More details are on the other page.

I guess I am just happy to celebrate that we have made it through some of the toughest times, in a couple’s life.

A child with daily special needs, which he happily took on once we starting dating. I knew he was amazing when we were at a birthday party with 16, 3 year olds, and he was playing right there with them. It was hot, and Alexa doesn’t do well in the heat. Suddenly she threw up a TON of Cheese Curls in my hair! Mind you, it is down to my waist at that point. He didn’t even hesitate, he grabbed some napkins and began cleaning her and my hair! I KNEW that day, that he was a real keeper. Then when Alexa got hospitalized for a bad croup./pneumonia, we had to hold her down to put in IV’s (this I normally did alone, as Alexa’s “father” would not even come to the hospital, let alone help), he was right next to me. I began singing to her “How much is that doggy in the window?”, then Jason quickly chimed in and sang “ruff ruff” It was the cutest thing. He stayed the entire hospitalization, as I encouraged him to go to work. But he wouldn’t leave. When we got discharged he had come home to make sure the house was clean, fridge was stocked, and had balloons for Alexa, and flowers for me. Laundry all caught up. I just felt so blessed to be with someone so thoughtful.

A unplanned pregnancy with Noah. Yes, thats right, Noah was not “planned”. But he turned out to be an amazing blessing (as are all my children). Jason could have walked away, but he was happy! He had Noah’s name all picked out and everything within 3 hours of finding out. He was so amazing to me everyday of my pregnancy telling me how strong, and beautiful I was. He was the BEST labor coach. When I had Noah, he presented me with a “book”. It was a typed up diary he started the day he found out I was pregnant. Each week he would type up what was going on, how he felt, funny things about the pregnancy or appointments. He then printed it up, after his past entry about the birth of our son, and put it in a bound folder. He brought it to the hospital after going to get my Dunkin Donuts coffee! LOL! It was to date the most amazing gift he ever gave me. I BALL when I read it. To have a man take the time to document his feelings and whatnot and do that was amazing. I couldn’t read the entire thing for months. My hormones were crazy.

Buying a home that needs to be totally re-done! Those have been FUN times, and still going.

Dealing with my EX. Who is no walk to the park. We are forever taking the high road. Its hard for Jason to see him ditch Alexa all the time. He loves her like his own, and he doesn’t understand how a man could do that to a child.

Then dealing with Alexa’s Cancer. We were told right away, that this could destroy our marriage if we weren’t strong enough. I was scared for that. Alexa’s father bailed on us because he never wanted to deal with anything that wasn’t 100% perfect and happy. He was very selfish that my attention was not on him all the time. He went and got a whole new life. Jason assured me we were strong, and would work together, no matter what. We promised to be honest and talk about everything everyday. He is my rock. He really helped pull me through that, an now we are so much stronger. Our love is deeper. We can make it through anything.

There are of course many more things, but I was just reflecting on how blessed I am to have a man like that. I cannot say enough about him. I am so happy to have him love ME, every-bit as much as I love him. He is the kind of guy who makes you feel like you are the ONLY woman on the planet. I always feel loved. He treats me as good today, as he did when we were dating.

I am just so lucky, and every thankful.

So I know no one really cared to hear all that, Im just in a sappy mood I guess.

    Moving on…………..

    Here is the sketch!

Use the Keyword mytimess02 if you upload anywhere, since people seem to want to have a code 😀 Send us a link back here so we can see your take. I always do my best to comment on every challenge player 😀

People have asked about elements of the sketches.

For example: Can the image be a flower instead of a circle?

YES!! WHATEVER YOU WANT! Whatever YOU see. Whatever inspires you in the sketch. Go for it. There are NO rules here. Well one, and that is to have fun!!

I made two today!!! One for the sketch, then another for my card to Jay for our anniversary.

    poppy-sketch.jpg

    Poppy remembering……….

I LOVE this Poppy set by Lisa called Remember. I have 2 other cards I whipped up after this one, to share soon. I just love any set that has open and solid images. Papertrey is PERFECT for that. This was inspired by my card in the PTI reveal. Sometimes you need a PUSH for the mojo, and that inspiration is exactly what helped me get warmed up.

The Poppy Red is just a gorgeous color. I love it against the black. I also love monochromatic combos 😀 Its great for lack of mojo-which was me, after not stamping for a week!! The satin ribbon makes any card look luxurious!

Then I took the sketch, and I flipped it!!

    The flower became my circle.

    I made a wish

This is the card I made Jay for our anniversary!! Isn’t it ADORABLE?!!!

Boy loves girl, girl loves boy 😀

They are images from Magnolia. Sentiment is a SU! one -Stem Sayings

I get my Magnolia from here –> [email protected] Just email Diana and she can email you the catalog. She ships to US and Ca if you are wondering. She also has some of the newest images 😀 I need to get some of those now too.

The shame is you cannot see the dimension :C He is cut on, and sitting on the bench, and she is cut out, popped out more than him, and her sneakers are popped out too! Really cute. I LOVE dimension. I love them popping past the layer 😀 I love that I didn’t have to color an entire “scene” to get a cute card! LOL!!!

I also love the flower buttons, and the pierced butterfly trail. You know I always have to use a butterfly if I can. I went with more “masculine” colors, and NO RIBBON!! I think he will like it. Jay loves my more “embellished cards”. You know 50 layers, and lots of stuff. I like clean. I think its a happy medium here.

I also hope this helps you visualize the ways a sketch can inspire you 😀 Don’t forget to check out my FABULOUS team of girls who also post with the sketch!

    Round it up! Saturday Sketch

Aug 16, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Yeah, my favorite day-Saturday!! I love creating for my Saturday Sketches because I try to make sure I just have fun and play.

I am teaching classes today, so I am stamping ALL day! LOL! It will be fun to get together with some girls today. I have a few “regulars” and I just love each one. They keep me going, and on my toes, and love to tease me when I say the wrong thing. Sometimes my brain is moving faster than my mouth, and believe me, I can talk so that is pretty crazy when they battle each-other! LOL!  They all really crack me up and my 7 hour day seems like its only been 20 minutes long (I kid you not). I guess if I HAVE to go to work this is definitely the “job” that I want to have.

OK back to the sketch. This was another pool side sketch I did, and had no idea if it would work out or not. I know I am dying to see what the Sketch Team did with it. many possibilities with this one I think.

    Here you go!

    sketch-with-paintshop-1.png

Now we are going to start (as suggested) a keyword for those of you who upload to galleries. It will me mytimess1(that stands for mytime Saturday sketch # X) I am starting with 1 since this is the first time we are doing a keyword.

    Now time for my sample!

    owl-sketch.jpg Owl be your friend

Now seriously! Do you not love this owl? I think it is apparent that I have a serious Owl addiction. I LOVE my Unity stamps, and wanted to use them on this, and I am just bouncing at how my vision for it actually turned out!

The sets are from the July Kit of the Month Its the Little Things. Sorry to say that it is not longer available :C Which is so tragic because I think its the most adorable thing ever!!!

I think I am going to sign up for the Kit of the Month Club because I LOVE every kit they come out with! I am no longer a design team member for Unity, but I {heart} Angela and all the Unity girls. I still LOVE their stuff, I just didn’t have the ability to work for everyone. So that will most likely become part of my happy mail! LOL! I adore the August set, and think it’s giving me that push to join! That and the set is GONE after that month (which I can’t believe :C).

I really loved that journaling block, but don’t like to write on stuff, so I turned it into a tree for my owl. I used the shimmer bridal flower petals (colored green and cut apart) for my tree leaves.

In case you can’t tell the owl wing is popped up on dimensionals, and the belly is paper pieced. Little details.

I also love the Poppy, Craft and Chocolate combo on this as well, with a touch of pink, and the pop of green.

I hope you like the sketch and get to try it out. Send us a link here, if you do so we can all view your take on it OK!!

Also don’t miss the sketch team samples!! They have been knockin my socks off.

    Sketch -Time Flies

Aug 9, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Well its Saturday, and that means it is time for a sketch!

I hope you get some time this week to try it out. Use your creativy liberty 😀

    laurensketch60.png Here it is!

Love that it is more professional looking using the Photoshop. Dawn fixed this one for me and I have next week’s ready to go 😀 Having a team keeps me on schedule!

I plan on using this one again (don’t I always say that?!)

I hope you all like it. Now remember I now have a team of players to share some more sketch inspiration!! They really did a fabulous job last week, so check out their blogs (on my sidebar under Saturday Sketch team!!) if you are feeling stumped and need more eye candy!!! AND if you get to play, send us a link here so we can check it out 😀

  • Now for this one I decided to use a much loved, but un-touched stamp I had in my Bella collection, from the chichibouile line : Wendy Papillion. I love her!

    fly-away-sketch.jpg Time Flies

I’m sure you can see why-butterflies!! She is just beautiful. I am now realizing (upon linking her) that I need more from this line 😀

I know my sentiment has nothing to do with time, but that is what I think of when I see butterflies. Plus this card is WAY late going out as a thank you note. Like the butterfly, time flies.

    SUPPLIES

The sentiment is by SU! Stem Sayings. The button are various SEI collections. I picked up this paper at The Paper Tree. Colors are teal, guava and a real red (can’t tell well by the photo-sorry)

I just love it. Great colors for this set. No idea who makes the paper  (help me out if you know), and just fell for the un-Lauren like colors. Challenge yourself to get out of that comfort zone!

I went to M’s yesterday and they has some new Martha Stewart and many other fall & Halloween collections. I did get some punches-happy dance, but otherwise not much more to report from there.

Lots to do this weekend. Amber’s birthday shopping, and lots of other family stuff.

I hope to see some of you next weekend! I have my trio of classes on Saturday the 16th!!

Thank you again for checkin in here. I think its great that with the little time you have, many of you stop by for a peek 😀 and even take time comment.

    Thanks again!

So get off the computer, get inspired and get stamping!!!

    Enjoy the weekend
