A Muse

Apr 3, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

So here a just a few samples with my A Muse goodies. I *LOVE* A Muse stamps and note-cards. Lets not forget May Arts Polka Dot ribbon. The only problem I have is keeping it simple! That is the A Muse way! LOL! So these are my attempts at “simple”

I love this one!

bunny

This stamp is called Bunny Line. Isn’t it cute?

It uses the cottage green pinwheel note-card. White may arts ribbon.

I stamped the bunnies in black then colored with pink, and gray markers.

I cut the one bunny out, and layered him over the original. The sentiment is from Love ya bunches by SU!

 Hay Thanks-

hay thanks

Is this not cute? I used the Limepeel band notecard for my “grass”. The ‘hay” sentiment is rough edges alpha, and the thanks is Tiny Talk by SU! I used the “chicks in a row” from A Muse, and it is stamped on an acetate sheet in black StazOn. I colored the back with colorbox chalk ink, and a  blender pen. Glue dots behind the chick hold it onto the A Muse notecard.

Stamped the tractor, and hay wagon in black as well. Colored in. The Hay is stamped on saffron cardstock then cut and on dimensionals for fun!

I thought this was cute-but feels like its missing “something”. But trying to keep it simple, so I left it alone!

Hen’s Night Out

hens night

I love this little hen! I used my cuttlebug scalloped die to make this.

The hen is stamped in black. A Singlo white gel pen was used to color her in. I used a yellow glitter pen for her beak, and feet. Isn’t she cute?

Ribbon is May Arts.

Hen’s Night Out sentiment is my Missy B Designs.

So what do you think?

Saturday Sketch!

poppy trio

Who is up for a weekend Sketch? ME! ME!

So I figured I would start a weekly challenge here on my blog. Now I have added this ti the list of growing categories.

Saturdays are usually “slow” days, and I wanna get challenged again. A little inspiration never hurt anyone right? I love the sketch challenge every Wednesday at SCS, and sometimes need more inspiration by the weekend.

Well, I made a sketch book a month or so ago, and put all my favorite sketches that I designed in there. Figured I should probally USE them. Especially since I loved them to begin with. So each week I’ll be here casing myself. Pretty fun actually. Makes stamping go much faster too, since I already have my layout planned.

So, to not only inspire myself, but you as well, figured I’d share them with you each week. I hope this will get you stamping! You can do it anytime through the week, and feel free to link your creation back here if you want.

This was one of my favorite layouts. Here is the original design.

For this card I used my new Poppy Stems stamp by Stampendous. The paper was my inspiration. Its by Paper Salon. Again-bought at eP! I have a love hate relationship with their store- I love it, but my pocketbook hates it! LOL!

The scalloped circle punch is from All That Scraps. The poppy image was stamped on GLOSSY white, in black stazon, then colored with markers. You must try that! You get such vibrant color from it.

And that is pretty much it.

I have a busy weekend here. Preparing for Disney, design calls with deadlines (not complaining about that).

Noah has T-ball tryouts!

I have to go shopping (big surprise right), girl needs to look good for Disney. Want matching outfits for my girls. Can yo say Disney store! Love that place.

I want to put my cake decorating classes to good use, and make my mom her birthday cake. We will see if I actually accomplish that. She wants Pansy’s. If I do it, Ill post it here tomorrow. Plus need to make up her Easter Basket. I also wanted to make her 4 glass coasters but I think that may end up waiting for Mothers Day.

Boil eggs since we are doing our Easter tomorrow. Big egg hunt at my mom’s.

Should be fun and exhausting! How will I ever get it all done?

Happy Saturday!

Agapanthus Acetate

Mar 31, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

pretty flower

I *LOVE* this stamp from Stampendous! Agapanthus Cluster.

Here is yet another one of my StazOn, with pearlescent pastels acetate cards. I truly enjoy me new technique!

I wanted a very soft, simple card, and believe I achieved it with this. This stamp is so pretty you don’t need much embellishing to make it wow you.

When I see this I think SUNSET. The card-stock is shimmery white. The flowers were done on an acetate sheet in white StazOn, and then popped with Pebbles pearlescent Pastels (cant stop using shimmery stuff lately).

The acetate is secured to the card by the brads. The tab says “just because” but you cannot see it well in the photo. Its done in gold.

Love this tiffany fiber by SU! It has gold and silver strands in it.

The stamp was purchases at eP! See my shop till you drop list.

Happy Saturday!

Pehaps Paper Piecing

Mar 30, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

pieced buds

I just got some new goodies from eP !

I LOVE this image by Stampendous! called Peony Square.

I stamped the image in black craft ink, then embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP. Shimmery IRL! You can see some of it on the leaf in the photo. Anyway, I LOVE the Perhaps paper by Basic Grey. I got my from JacksonbellesEbay store.

So, I stamped my flowers three times! Yes three! Once on the whisper white, twice on the patterned paper. I then cut pieces of the flower and pieced it onto my roses. I chose to mix up the pieces from patterned paper so it wasn’t uniform. The scrap was used on my side panel. Faux stitched all the way! You’ll NEVER see me pull out a sewing machine! Just can’t do it-

Isn’t it gorgeous? I was SUPER proud! I colored the open parts I didn’t piece of the rose with Brilliance ink, and a blender pen. The rest is just markers!

My black layer is cuttlebugged with my embossing folder ( cannot remember the name to save my life!)

This will most likely go to my mom. Every-time I see roses I think of her.

Easter Wish For You

Mar 30, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

For You

Don’t you just love the spring! Easter is so fun when you have kids isn’t it? This Easter we leave for Disney! I hear they have a MEGA egg hunt, and huge Easter Parade. I’m am SO excited.

So I pulled out my bunny from C.C. Designs. You can find him HERE

The little eggs in the background are also her design. So cute! I love the little feet poking out of the eggs.

I had this cute patterned paper by DCWV, called Spring Stack. Thought it was perfect. I “decorated” my eggs with my fine point on my markers. HAD to use a Daisy prima. Love polka dot ribbon. I have a huge spool of this from May Arts. So spring don’t you think.

I have to say I love my layout! Into my sketch book it goes for future casing of myself! LOL!

Here is a photo of my book that I put my sketches in for future reference. When you are in a creating rut it comes in handy! I recommend everyone do one~

Farm Fresh Friends

Mar 30, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

wool be friends

So this is not your usual farm friendly color combo now is it? Cameo Coral, Basic Black, White, and Celery.

I got the sheep by Gina K., and cuttlebug stuff  HERE . I have been dying to work with some of her images. They are just too cute.

My card was inspired by this ribbon I got in the $1 bin at Michael’s. Can you see the little sheep on the ribbon?

I stamped the sheep with white craft ink. Whipped out my liquid applique, cause no sheep is complete without its “wool”. I used my WW crayons to color the ear, make a nose, and some grass. Sheeps gotta eat right? Added a gogglie eye, and it was done.

Then I figured it needed “more”. So I pulled out my sizzix fence die, and bazzil cardstock. Now there thats much better. Used my cuttle bug swirls embossing folder on the panel to imitate the “woolly” feel! LOL! Bet you didn’t think I thought  about too much when making this huh?

Lastly LOVE the sentiment!

What do you think? Like my sheep?

Make A Wish

Mar 29, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, My family stuff

alexa

WOW! All I can say is The Make A Wish Foundation is just AMAZING! Seriously!

I am speechless after seeing all that they provide. To think they add such a bright spot at such a dark time for families. All they kept saying was- its time that all the tears and hard work be rewarded. We can only give you a week, but we hope that will make this fight worth it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! WORTH IT? Its amazing!

This has really given Alexa something to look forward to. Since we found out everyday all she talks about is meeting Cinderella and going to the Castle. Its such a simple thing but something we could not give her-not right now anyway.

The people at MAW are all so wonderful. They showed up with a bag full of Disney goodies for all 3 kids!

alexa

How do you thank an organization like that enough? Really?

I will share a card I made for them, as a small Thank You.

 Make a wish

I wanted something DREAMY for this card. That signified the “WISH”. What does a wish look like?

To me it looks like this. Simple. clean, swirly, and sparkly!

For this I used my Cuttlebug swirls folder, & 2×2 folder-its a birthday sentiment. I covered it with the circle punch. Rubbed silver ink over the raised sentiment (perfect!). Traced the circle with my sakura glitter pen-love that thing! Punched a star from a metal sheet. The swirl is by Autum Leaves-flourish set. LOVE IT! Its embossed with irredescent ice. Very pretty IRL! I hope they like my card-I poured my hear tout in it! LOL!

All they ask is that we share photos of our trip. Now it all is becoming real! YIKES only like 9 days left!!! I haven’t planned anything cause I don’t want to get too excited just to have any one of us get Alexa sick-KWIM?

Anyway-just thought Id share my thoughts.

When something like this happens in your life you realize how important “time” is. I am SO volunteering once my life settles (kids go to school). And I am so THANKFUL for TODAY. Everyday is a gift.

Kiss your kids, call your loved one, cuddle on the couch, and enjoy today. Cause today you are here, together. Today you are alive, and healthy (even if its not perfectly healthy, it could be worse). Today is your memory tomorrow. SO make it count.

Barrow of Spring

Mar 28, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

barrow

I am SO ready for spring. I have been dying to get this stamp by Gina K. Every-time I saw a card with it I wanted it more. When I was placing my order at www.allthatscraps.com I was SO excited to see she is carrying Gina K.’s line!

So in my basket it went! As well as a bunch of other goodies.

I bought this patterned paper from there called Farmers Market by Flair Designs. Its a 12×12 piece with several different “seed” packets. When my order arrived I noticed that one of the seed packets matched the flowers in the wheel barrow! So I cut that one out, and one thing lead to another. Now, here is the final product! This card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The Prima is also the same flower. Used the seed packet for the total inspiration of this card.

My Natural vanilla card-stock is stamped in weathered bkgd, and DTP the edges. The saffron layer is cuttlebugged with the stylized flowers, then rubbed with white craft ink, and colorbox chalk ink on the leaves. Ribbon is May Arts. On the barrow I stamped in brown stazon, then used my white singlo pen for the flowers. Colored using WWC, and blender pen.

In all honesty, while I LOVE Primas I have a hard time with the larger ones, making “centers” for them. In all honesty the thing I hate most about this is the beaded button flower center. Oh well!

Share with me how you dress up your Prima centers! I need help!

Beautiful Butterflies

Mar 23, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Just because

Oh its official! I’m in LOVE with this set by Papertrey Ink-called Butterfly Kisses!

This is an acrylic set. Many people complain about the images when its an acrylic stamp. All I do is stamp on a old mouse-pad and have NO PROBLEMS with ANY brand of acrylic. NEVER, no matter what kind of ink. These cards used classic ink by Stampin Up! unless specified otherwise.

I so wanted to use it more but had a rough day with the kids! So this was it.

The top Just Because card was made just for that reason, because! I wanted to use this paper again by Piggy Tales. The butterfly was colored with markers, and then stamped on vellum card stock.

Shimmery White ink was used for the solid border image. My quickie glue pen by Sakura made a super flying swirl easy. Glitter is by Prism. Not alot going on with this but I like its simplicity. Card-stock is by Bazzil. This card will forever remind me that this little butterfly in the left corner was the last time I will ever see it. Its lost and gone forever now, and I am bummed!

butterfly

Now this card is my kind of card! Pink and brown-LOVE IT! I didn’t really like it at first but my upline Paulette stopped by ( to take my mail to the PO! How sweet) and thought it was great (but she always says that) so it grew on me!

Paper is 3 bugs in a rug-love it! Flowers are Bazzil, and Prima Sprites. Brads are by Queen & co.

Ribbon is from Jody’s lollipop ribbon share.

I folded back the open flap, and cut the butterfly wing, where it was scored. The ribbon keeps it tied shut.

inside

This was my very first time in 3 years of stamping ever using RUB ONS! I don’t know that I ever will again either. I prefer the stamping. It gave my hand a cramp rubbing like crazy to make sure they were “on”. The rub ons are by Marcella by K. The border on the front, and the friends greeting is the rub on part.

Thanks for looking.

Aren’t these Dino-Mite?

Mar 23, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

OK something you should know about me. I am a flower image addict. If its a flower or a butterfly I NEED it! LOL! So, having that “problem”, when I have gone to stamp boy/masculine cards you can guess what happens. I have NO boy images!

I swore to myself if I was going to spend any $$ I would also increase my boy/masculine stamp collection. Well when I saw Kims Dino-Mite set I knew I had to have it!! It makes the CUTEST boy cards EVER!

If you need this set you can go to my shoppping list, and click on  My Favorite Things . Don’t blame me if you put more than this set in your cart! LOL!

colorful dino

For both dino’s I used glossy cardstock. I stamped the images twice. Once on glossy, anotheron whisper white. I daubered color on the glossy card-stock, then ran it through my cuttlebug.

Cut out the dino, then rubbed it directly in the ink. Attached over image in whisper white. These dino’s look real, I swear! LOL! Plus they “feel” cool. The top dino, I stamped the dino-mite like a million times in different colors. Since this is a clear acrylic set you can see where its going! It actually didn’t take too long. The ribbon is a sticky ribbon I got at Joann’s for a buck! See I can cut corners! LOL!

dino bday

Now This one uses just the cupcake from the set, and the happy birthday sentiment. You can’t ell by the photo but certain circles are highlighted with glitter for a little WOW factor. Sweet & simple is sometimes the best. Especially for kids. I spent HOURS making a card for a friends daughter only to watch in horror as she picked off all the raised letters that spelled out her name! Lesson learned!
