I am excited to be participating in this months JustRite Stampers Summer Release Blog Hop!
After you leave be sure to check out the JRS Blog 😀
I have to say I LOVE the new direction I am seeing their newest releases going in (and what is to come!). There are super border selections, with center images! IMAGES! I love that! That makes me SOOOOOO happy! I have been a fan of JRS for over a year now! I have quite the collection 😀 I’m happy to add the latest and greatest to that lineup 😀 I enjoy mixing and matching not just the borders, but all the set selections I have.
Funny thing about my project today though……despite my love for the “images” I decided to use the NEW! Calendar Borders & Centers Oval 1-3/4” x 2-5/16”
I have been asked by NUMEROUS people to make another month by month card organization box!
PS Yes! This will go up in my Etsy Shop, along with my other stuff most likely tomorrow 😀 or over the weekend.
Now if you “know me” I despise repeating ANY designs I create! I always have to do something NEW! When I make something it is a ONE of a KIND! LOL! Never repeat!! When I saw the size of the Calendar Borders & Centers Oval 1-3/4” x 2-5/16” I was VERY excited!! I thought they would look FAB in the My Timeless Template: From the Desk Of: ©
A Year of Celebrations Desk Organizer
This will look SO pretty sitting out on your desk! Don’t you think? That is the KEY! Pretty and organized 😀
The font size for this project was beyond perfect!!
Front detail
My butterfly is a Tag Team Butterfly Cuttlebug Die. I die cut the sweet blush layer, added some glitter 😀 and then die cut and embossed the vellum butterfly layer. I HAD to add that butterfly to the front 😀
I stamped my own patterned paper using Floral Frenzy and Guidelines II paper
My colors are Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, New Leaf and Dark Chocolate. I paired it with some stripped paper by K& Co.
Side view
Now notice the top?
More mixing and matching going on. The “family favorite” is from What’s Cookin’ Borders & Centers 1-5/8″ I think it was a cute addition to the From the Desk Of: template!
(sorry this was taken outside since I broke my tent lights during photographing-GRR!)
Also: This template has a divider additon if you choose to use it. I did for ths project, as you can see.
I didn’t use the borders, just the month’s. I stamped each one on white cardstock, then punched out with my Wide Oval from SU! I layered those ovals onto die cut labels, also from SU!
Here are the file dividers, grouped together. Aren’t they pretty?!
I just staggered each month so you can easily see what is where.
I would just make an index card, and put the date of friends and family birthday days and file it into the appropriate month section 😀 Quick and easy organization 😀
Now here is what else is included IN my organizer……
I made a QUICK set of 12 cards.
There are 3 of each design/color combo
I used the color combo that is on my From the Desk Of: Organizer paper, that I designed, for my color combo here!
I LOVE the little gift image and border from the Favorite Occasions Borders & Centers Set 1-5/8″
I wanted QUICK and EASY cards that match, no fuss!!
I just stamped my image in dark chocolate ink, then via assembly line, I colored them in with Copic markers, then punched out each one with my SU! 1 3/4 circle! I then used my 1 3/8 circle and 3/4 circle to punch additional circles 😀 I used dimensionals to layer and POP the circles.
Quick, cute and easy!
Now when you look in your Calendar month section, you can just GRAB a card and pop it in the mail!
On a personal note……
Alexa’s appointment went well (still Cancer Free! YIPPEE!!!) I’m so happy about that. Every time we get labs drawn I hold my breath. I don’t think the fear of return will EVER leave me. Any time she complains anything hurts I FREAK OUT! I have also had poor Amber tested for Leukemia 4 times! She gets a lot of growing pains, and when it happens too often I go into a complete PANIC! Those “leg pains” were Alexa’s #1 symptom!! It took 3 months or me taking her to numerous doctors to get an actual diagnosis! So to say I am a bit paranoid, is a complete under-statement.
Now we have to see the plethora of other doctors for other issues!
I have to take her to-dentist (she needs braces! LORD HELP ME! LOL! I can’t imagine she will do well with that) a Dermatologist, Endocrinologist, Dietitian and ENT! LOL! Then a port flush.EEK! Can we extend the hours in a day please? I’m seriously NOT complaining about her other visits. Im truly grateful for her health! Im just feeling a little overwhelmed these days, to say the least.
WORSE yet, and this is a HUGE complaint: BEWARE!!!
Jay was suppose to have surgery on his back this morning. He is to have a discectomy. He was mentally prepared and everything was set to go!
BUT, get this………… the OR scheduler FORGOT to book the OR for him! So he can’t have it! They are now scheduling 3 weeks out, and then his doctor is on VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we are at the least a month and a half away!
Words cannot even tell you how MAD I am about that! We waited for this date for several months.
FINALLY got his work stuff organized (he is in a management position so getting 6 weeks off is NOT an easy task) and short term disability was all set, and we actually had CHILD CARE set up for the kids (which our families are ALWAYS too busy to help so that was a feat in itself), to have THAT happen! OMW! Im sorry, I’m just FUMING mad. Worse yet, poor Jason is in a TON of pain everyday. He has a desk job and commutes an hour each way to work, so that KILLS his back.
I wanted to tell the OR scheduler “Well ,until Jay does have his surgery, let me hit you in the back with a bat, every minute, until then!” That is what Jay tells me the pain feels like. Plus it travels down his leg, which often gives out when he walks.
I just feel SO bad for him. This has been going on for 6 months. He has had PT, cortisone shots and everything else they suggested before resorting to surgery. NONE of it helping.
OK that just put a HUGE damper on this post. I’m sorry! I’ll keep you all posted!
On that note though, I truly believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason! So we are just keeping the faith that it wasn’t meant to be then. It was just very strange that something like that would happen, so I truly believe that it was just not meant to be, yet.
In the meantime, thanks for stopping by and sending up prayers for my family!
Now head over the the —> JRS blog <— for a list of people playing along 😀

Lauren, so sorry to hear of the confusion about the scheduled surgery today. I have been praying for you all this morning. I will pray for continued patience while you wait a little longer and that you will get everything arranged again for the later date. God truly does have a plan in this even though we may never see it this side of heaven. Glad to hear Alexia is okay. I know it must be hard to get those tests done and wait for the results.
Grace and peace be with all of you.
Melissa
This organizer is beautiful!
Great project…as always!!
Wonderful news with Alexa! I can’t even imagine the amount of stress you’ve been under in the past weeks! Incredible that you’ve been able to get through it all and with a positive attitude and continuously amaze all of us with your creativity!!
Has Jay ever tried chiropractic treatments for his back? This is a link to my spine center in Colorado. http://www.windsorspinecenter.com/
Obviously, he can’t come here; however, since this is a different approach to chiropractic care, it’s worth a look to see if there is someone in your area that may be able to help him. They take initial xrays to make sure it is even safe to manipulate/adjust. Just a thought since you all have been put off for another month+
Hope you give that some thought or at least take a look at it! Keep your chin up – you truly are amazing!
Lauren, I am praying that all will fall into place for Alexa’s appointments and Jay’s surgery. I have a special needs daughter so I know how overwhelming appointments can be and how it just seems to be so much more involved. Praying for Jay’s back too. “The Lord will accomplish what concerns me” Ps 138:8- know that He does care so there must be a reason that all the plans were frustrated (and frustrating). Good attitude though. Many blessings and prayers coming your way.

Oh my Lauren I feel for you. All of that is a huge load of stress! Hopefully it will all work out well. Your project is beautiful as always and I thank you so much for the inspiration you give all of us “stamp addicts”!
Pretty project.
That’s such great news re Alexa’s test results, but I am so sorry to hear about the mix-up re your husband’s surgery.
Lauren…I am so happy that Alexa’s test results came back good.
I feel for you guys regarding Jay’s surgery. My husband had the same surgery 3 years ago and it was so hard to stand by and see him in constant pain, extruciating pain that brought him to his knees.
Making a decision to have surgery on the back is HUGE, so many scenarois and what if’s to consider.
It was an amazing blessing to walk his broken body into the hospital and a couple of hours later walk out with his pain being MUCH reduced.
Truly a blessing that I want for you guys as well. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray that this time will pass quickly and that you can get everything worked out with his job and daycare for the kids.
Hi Lauren,
I’ve never posted on your blog before, I usualy come to it to see your beautiful creations. I usually tear up when I read your posts, ya’ll have been through so much! I just read about your husband, I am so sorry to hear about the non-scheduling of his surgery. My husband has a couple of degenerative disks and gets those shots all the time. I’ve been dealing with massive pain in my back for 4 1/2 years, but of course…”it’s all in my head”. I have been blessed to move to Tucson a couple months ago and have been diagnosed with the same thing as my husband, same 2 disks…aren’t we just a pair? Anyhow, I was interested in knowing what exactly it is your husband is having done, if you don’t mind my asking. I’ll keep him in my prayers over the next few weeks until he can have relief from the surgery.
God Bless,
Tanya
Lauren, thank you so much for posting an update on your personal trials. I have been thinking about you and praying for you and your family every day. I’m so glad to hear about Alexa’s successful visit! Jay’s issue, well I think you have the right idea. It just wasn’t meant to be right now. I bet you will realize why sometime over the next 6 weeks or so. Keep the faith kiddo.
On a separate note, I just love your JRS blog post. Nice job!
It looks like it just one of those times where you have to be grateful for what works and patient about what doen’t. Your positive attitude goes a long way toward this. My heart and prayers go out to Jason.
another great design- love these stamps – love your colours too. Hope everything goes well with everyone there – there are always reasons for things happening- you may not know what yet but it will be there Keep Positive and Keep Faith – Kathy s
We sometimes never know how God protects us when things happen. Your support and love for your husband show thru. The surgery will make him a new man. Thank you for being faithful in sharing your projects despite the difficult times. You are encouraging to us.
Lauren, your work is amazing, especially considering what else you have going on in your life. Please know that you are an inspiration to others. But also remember you do not have to be perfect, Jesus came for those in need, give your self permission to be upset or worn out. My prayers are with you and your family.

Lauren, I am soooo sorry to hear what happened. I feel horrible for your husband. My husband had teh 3 level fusion in his lower back and it took years before we could even get the surgrey approved, and trust me it was a nightmare. Kid you not, I was on the phone with doctors and insurance company EVERYDAY in tears casue my husband could not walk and if he even moved he was screaming in pain. I was actually told my the insurance company nurse that my husband was lying to me and there is no way he could be feeling the way he is telling me with his condition. I was soooo mad that I told her then you can come live in our house and you can take care of him 24-7 and then you tell me if he is lying to me or not. I actually started second guessing my husband, and still to this day I feel totally horrible for that, but never again. AFter the surgrey he has had many restirctions and I have found that this program called “The Miracle Ball” (I found it at Costco), has actually made a difference. He has been able to relax many parts of his back and sleep more relaxed. I emailed the inventor Elaine Petrone and I told her exactly what happened to my husband and exactly what type of surgrey and she emailed me back and explained exactly what would be helpful for him. She had us starting on every other part of his body and then working towards his back, since his back had the most trama.
Geez, I realized this is WAY long, sorry 🙁 We have been thru alot with his back injury and still going thru it, and I would not wish this on anyone. You and your family are in my thoughts and I am thinking about you.
Hey Lauren… love your stuff… as always!! I just wanted to say that I feel for your husband… I had a spinal fusion 2 years ago and KNOW the pain… unfortunately I now have a bulging disc in my thorasic and herniated disc in my neck (have no idea how I even hurt my back… I am only 34) I have pain everyday… having an epidural next week… but will probably have to have another surgery…. I have done everything and have had chronic pain for 2 years now! Tell him to hang in there… he will soon have relief!!!
Firstly, once again you have created awesome projects with the JR products!!! Love how you used the calendar set!!! I am so sorry about all the health problems you’ve been having in your family! My thoughts and prayers are with you!!
Beautiful Job on your desk organizer! Love all the fun DP you used and your cards are great too!
Lauren,
My husband has had two discitomies (I know I’m spelling it wrong). The good news is that as soon as the surgery was over he immediately felt better and the recovery period was not too long. Does your husband have degenerative disc disease? That is what is causing the problem for my husband. He is headed towards fusion but we have had 4 plus years where is has been very good. We’ll keep your husband in our prayers. It is so hard when they are in so much pain. Lynn
Oh, I would be a hot mess too over that mix-up…
especially how you had to jump through hoops to get everything lined up and taken care of. And the worse is knowing Jason has to endure the pain for weeks longer.
I’ll definitely be praying..
Hugs and love,
Renee
First, your organizer is so great! LOVE the idea and the colors are great (note to self, use colors other than brown and green!).
Second, congratulations for good news for your daughter. LOTS going on in her little world, but let’s hear a big AMEN that she is still cancer free.
Third, ARE YOU FREAKIN’ KIDDING ME! They forgot to schedule the OR? Yes, you have a perfect right to be pissed off. Poor Jay! Poor you! I can only imagine the pain he must be in…and to have prepared yourself both mentally and physically only to have to figure something else out is insane. I like everyone else will keep your family in our prayers.
I’m sorry to hear about Jay, I was thinking about him today – and hoping everything was going ok. GUESS NOT!! However, there must be a reason why it was waylaid.. maybe something you don’t see right now.. I am however, really glad to hear about Alexa.. that’s good news for you!
Oh Lauren, I cannot believe how Jay’s surgery has been so messed up, and I’m a scheduler!!! I would be fuming mad tooo!!!! Congrats on Alexa still being cancer free….YES! That’s indeed awesome news. You have every right to be paranoid after all you’ve been through with Alexa.
Lots of ((((hugs)))) for your family and lots of prayers. My husbands back is hurting for Jay’s right now too. Somebody at the office had better get that straightened out and fast.
Lauren – great creativity as usual despite everything happening in your life. Thrilled to hear about Alexa but disgusted to hear about poor Jay. Hope and pray that things work out for him soon.

Lauren,
Hoping the rest of your process goes smooth and praying for all the best for Alexa. What a GORGEOUS organizer… making one for my mom.. think she’ll love it… Gonna add a calender list to the front of my index cards to she can jot important days on it… Thanks for the inspiration..

Lauren~ this set is wonderful… you are soooo creative~ Just rite love it!
Lauren – first of all, HOORAY for Alexa! Great news! Now if we can just get poor Jay taken care of! My prayers are with you. One of my good friends is dealing with a similar disc issue and the pain is horrible. Please hang in there — I’m so sorry for the mess-up!
Vicki
Fabulous projects, Lauren! Sorry to hear about Jay’s surgery….that is SO frustrating! I hope they can resolve things soon and fit him in ASAP!
OMG amazing woman – you are my superhero Lauren!
Great project and so pretty as usual. SO glad to hear of Alexa’s good news. My sister has a cancer in remission and she hates every May when she has to go have her tests. Sometimes we never know why things happen the way they do but God never makes a mistake, keep on trusting.
Upholding you in prayer.
Lauren,
Love your project today! Your work is always so inspiring and you always having me wishing I had that stamp or tool!
Saying prayers of praise for Alexa’s good report and prayers for Jay for peace and comfort during the wait and for successful surgery and healing!
I have degenerative disc disease which I have had to deal with since my kids were small. After the first two spinal fusions I was so much better. I was no longer tingling in my arms, hands, and legs. Then I had a cervical laminectomy which didn’t help as I had more nerve injuries this time around. But having surgery like what your husband is getting altogether does help in the long run. I do empathize with him and understand what you and your family is going through.
Hooray for Alexa being cancer free. It’ll never be an easy journey when you have kids as you worry about every little thing. At least all the kids are healthy!! I will continue to pray for all of you.
As for your project, I just love it so much!! I was never a fan of JSR till now. I am seeing more projects from people as well as yours using these. I’ll have to stock up soon. I like organizational projects like this one!! Thanks again for doing such beautiful work.
I love your project !!
So annoying about the surgery, urgh!!! I had surgery a few months ago and would have gone NUTS if it was postponed due to a mistake by the scheduler!! You get yourself psyched for that date, emotionally and physically, knowing the pain will be gone soon enough…now to have it in a month, plus rescheduling for the kids, work, as if you don’t have enough to do!! Sorry 🙁 I also believe that everything happens for a reason, so maybe it’s fate?
Great news about Alexa though!!! Have a great weekend!!
beautiful project!!
on another note, re: discs… i know you didn’t ask for any advice or anything, so please don’t take it the wrong way. I have been through problems with 2 herniated discs. I was at lost, had an 8 month old baby to care for… and out of the blue someone suggested acupuncture. Being completely at the end of my rope, and in pain, i figured i had nothing to lose. I found a naturopathic doctor who has also studied acupuncture for 4 years. I went to see him and he worked some magic. After 3 visits, I was completely 100% healed. My daughter is now 7 yrs of age and my disc pain has not returned since she was 9 months old!! The doctor I had seen who had scanned my back had given me a prescription to painkillers and said that the painkillers and a back operation were the only solution.
while every situation is different, anything is worth a try to get rid of that pain without a major operation.
praying for your family
Lauren, I’m so happy to hear Alexa’s good news. That has to bring a lot of relief and happiness to your family.
I hope your grandfather’s condition has improved.
I’m irate about the total screw-up with Jay’s surgery. Anyone can make a mistake, but you would think at a time when people are worried about keeping their jobs, they would actually try to perform to the best of their abilities. FYI: I think you should have received a call a week or so prior to his surgery to make an appointment for a pre-op evaluation, lab work, EKG and/or chest x-ray if indicated, and to give Jay pre-op instructions. Also, my doctor’s office called me before my scheduled surgery to be sure I had completed everything on my pre-op check-list. Maybe things are different in your region. If not, be aware of this when they re-schedule.
I totally empathize with Jay’s pain and decreased mobility. My son who was in terrible pain with leg weakness and foot-drop experienced almost immediate pain relief following a discectomy. I’ve had a lumbar spinal fusion (a discectomy was not an option for me) with improvement but no cure – exactly as my surgeon promised. Chronic back pain is exhausting and frustrating. It’s impossible to ignore and affects every aspect of your life. Luckily I don’t work outside the home and have the flexibility to schedule my activities around my pain level. I can’t fathom 2 hours of commuting and sitting at a desk all day. Please tell Jay I (and many others) empathize with his condition. It’s unbelievably hard to explain chronic back pain or migraine headaches to someone who has never had the experience.
I will continue to hold you and your family close to my heart.
Hugs, -mary
PS: I love your creativity and enthusiasm. Your projects are awesome.
Lauren…I agree with the bat idea!!! I could say that I don’t believe they did that, but unfortunately I can. They should have made arrangements to get you in asap. Your stuff is great by the way. Congrats on Amber’s visits. I would be just as paranoid. Take care. Sandy
Hi Lauren,
I follow your blog and Just love your work. I am so happy for the good news about your daughter. I am sorry to hear about your husband. Hang in there. God has a plan and today maybe a blessing. My prayers are with you all.
So happy to read that Alexa’s tests came back ‘all clear’! And so sad to read that your hubby has to continue with his back pain. As you mentioned, I too believe it was for a reason. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
And as always, your projects ‘rock’!
Oh Lauren, I’m so sorry to hear of the mix-up with Jay’s surgery. My husband also had back surgery a few years ago for a herniated disk. He was on the “urgent” waiting list for a year. The pain became so unbearable that all he could do was lie on the floor…and live on T3’s. Our very supportive doctor admitted him to the hospital…which ended up speeding up his surgery date! What a miracle…he’s doing great now! Wishing you guys all the best! Holding you in my prayers,
~Brenda H.
Just a quick comment to let you know your work is beautifull and allways amazes me! And more important I will keep your family in my prayers! God bless you all!
Lauren, has your husband ever considered accupuncture? Maybe he could try it to get some releif while he waits for the surgery…
Good luck…

Well worth the read. I found it very informative as I have been researching a lot lately on practical matters such as you talk about…
