Everyone also asked about the kids-they are doing MUCH better. Alexa is especially looking better. Stilly junky but good.
Also I forgot to tell you to check the Sketch Team blogs
AND I forgot to tell you about JustRite Stampers-if you didn’t already know-
Once thing I didn’t expect was my sore throat from the tube they stick down there. I had teh WORST cottom mouth every all day yesterday.
I have a horse voice, and between that and the surgery (sore abdomen) I can’t YELL or even talk at a normal level! I’m not use to not being able to talk well, since Im very chatty! LOL! Oh and having 3 kids!
Just had to share that.
The kids have been taking turns rubbing my shoulder, getting me my drinks, fluffing my pillows, and drawing me pictures! I woke up and seriously had like 3 coloring book pages spread all over me and my bed.
Its time like that, that you think you *may* be doing something right as a mom! They are taking turns snuggling in bed with me watching TV. I will miss them when they grow up.
I rented Twilight for later. Can’t wait to see what teh BUZZ is all about.

Hi Lauren. Glad to see all went well. Good to know about the sore throat. I hadn’t thought about that when my turn comes. Take care and keep healthy.
Sorry to hear you have been unwell hope you recover quickly.
I tried putting your blinkie on my blog it doesn’t show. I am so glad everything went well. I hope all stays well.
I KNEW you didn’t need a catheter!! Yeah!!! And home the same day? Of course you can! I’m so glad it worked out so well for you and the kids are better. Rest up and take it easy. Good thing your infection didn’t get big. Sometimes they delay surgery to give you antibiotics to lessen the chance of the infection spreading to the rest of your belly during surgery or post-op!
Glad to hear that you are the road to recovery. My mom had the same surgery last week. She also had 4 incisions and was not expecting the higher one it was the sorest. Because it was right where you bend at the waist. It does heal quickly though. Praying for a speedy and painless recovery.
Stephanie
Hi Lauren!
I’m so glad to hear that everything went so well for you! I think it’s awesome that ou were making everyone laugh as they sedated you! When they sedated me for my knee surgery, I started to have doubts about having it done, LOL! They kept reminding me that I couldn’t walk on it, etc. Hehe! What a baby I was and that was my second knee surgery! I especially like that you wanted to stay there because they were telling you how skinny you are! That’s awesome! I need to email you one of these days, I keep meaning to do that! I want to ask you how you began you weight loss, etc. I admire you for all that you’ve accomplished! I’d want to stay there too! =)
Keep feeling better! And I hope the kiddos feel better soon too!
Jenn
Hey Lauren! I was so happy to see you actually felt well enough to write on your blog…I thought it was going to be at least Monday before you were back online! Even in pain, you’re so funny! I love that!! 🙂 I was LOL when you said you were dreaming about a template! I’ve also had dreams about stamps & paper! Crazy!!God Bless! Kim S.
Oh yes – other things I meant to comment on… 1 – I can get your blinkie to work on my blog either… Don’t know why – but it’s not working —
YEAH on the no catheter! and sorry about the sore throat…it’ll probably last another day or so… {{{HUGS}}}
I’m so glad that everything went well Lauren. Wait till you reread your blog, I can tell that you are on pain meds & you are still out of it. You crack me up. You need to rest up kiddo, it’s so nice that the kids are taking turns taking care of mommy & yes you will miss them when they grow up…ask me how I know? I miss mine to pieces!!! Take care & I’m sending you some extra healing (((hugs)))!
Hey Lauren!! Just checked in to see how you are feeling and I am glad to see everything went well. How sweet the kids are to take care of you so. You are obviously a great mom and are teaching them well. Keep well and healthy!! I will visit again soon.
HEY — I figured out why your blinkie wouldn’t work…the very first part of the html code…after you blog address their is a backslash, then the quotes… it should be quotation mark backslash… like this:
It posts correctly on my blog now! 🙂
oops – the code didn’t show in my post above…DUH – I forgot about that…
Glad to hear everything went well with you and that you are on the mend. How sweet that the kids are “taking care” of you. Rest up and don’t over do it.
Awwww, you & Jay have some very special kids. Yes, you both are doing something very right, trust me.
Amber, Noah & Alexa…you are all taking very good care of mom. Thank you so much.
Lauren you are so right – you will miss your sweet little ones when they grow up. I look at my grown sons and remember when they were tiny babies – how I would hold them in my arms in the middle of the night and rock them back to sleep. GOOD TIMES…GOOD MEMORIES…
Glad to hear you’re doing well and thank goodness for no catheter *ugh— I would have been freaking about that too. I had three 9 lb’ers as well– so I know what you’re saying about quick recovery!! I’d rather be at my house with my stuff as soon as possible– -Take care of yourself, it sounds like you’ve got some great *helpers*!! Hoping for a speedy recovery for you!! Tori
Glad the surgery went well and your kids have you home safe and sound. Take it easy and be well!
Lauren, I read the surgery update that you posted…OMG how funny! I’m glad to hear that things went well & that you were able to go home so soon after your surgery. I just can’t believe that you were even thinking about blogging, let alone actually doing it. I would have been passed out in bed.
As for Twilight, the movie is good, but if you haven’t read the books, you HAVE to. As with most movies based on books, the movie doesn’t do the book justice. BTW, I’m not sure if you know this, but Stephanie Meyer came up with the concept of Twilight from a dream & as she put it, the vampire in her dream was “just so darned good-looking.” Sounds like she’s not the only one getting work done while dreaming. :o)
Hope you feel better soon.
So happy you’re doing so well! Another benefit of your exercise regime in addition to your great bod with muscles is a body that heals quickly. You’re amazing (as usual) to be getting right back to business as usual and blogging. Thanks for sharing the details of your sweet kids watching over their Mom as she recuperates. Take care!
LOL @ being too chatty! You’re supposed to be RESTING remember…. 😉
Hope that you feel better quickly and I’m happy to hear the kids are getting well too!
I’ve got a nasty cold…of course because it’s Spring Break this week and I’ve got nothing better to do but stay home….NOT! LOL!
I’m so glad to hear that you are home and on the road to recovery. I can’t believe how much you were able to do when you weren’t feeling well….imagine how much you can accomplish when you’re all better!
PS Twilight is my absolute favorite! LOVE the movie. My hubby even watched it with me last night after he swore he NEVER would…and liked it!
Hi Lauren,
Hope the healing process is speedy quick! I have to tell you I rented Twilight yesterday to see what the hoopla was about- & I thought it was awesome! OK, I get it now! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope you will too! Cyber hugs 🙂
Hey Lauren, {PHEW!} all that worrying over surgery and recouperating and being able to come home to your own bed….. Aren’t you glad it all worked out the way you wanted it?
My sis had to have her gall bladder out kind of emergency style after her first pregnancy. So I lived through it vicariously through her experience.
Hopefully the tenderness in your tummy and soreness in your shoulder will go away soon. I love that your kids are taking care of you (and mom and jason too). That’s so sweet.
Take your time healing…. we’ll be here when you return.
So glad you are doing well and the Family is taking great care of you! Having surgery is just….weird, isn’t it? Love that nuked blanket they put on you when you get in the operation room..mmmmh Ü
And I’m sure “Edward” will make you feel much better, too! I got my DVD on the release date, March 21, and have watched it 3 times since then Ö I don’t read books often and I didn’t want the 4th one to end…I’m ready for the 2nd movie, already!
Get well soon!
Isn’t it precious when your kids are helping you out and making sure you are okay. I had my bladder lifted a few years back (gift from having kids lol) and my kids were amazing too. Enjoy the attention 😀
As for Twilight, I LOVED the book but was disappointed with the movie. Hope you enjoy it – the eye candy is not hard to take if nothing else 🙂
I am glad you’re on a speedy road to recovery, but, don’t overdo it. I know how difficult that is for you, but you deserve it. It would be OK if we don’t get a video for a week or two. I know they can take a lot out of you and are time-consuming. Relax, girl…remember you only live once (on earth anywho :).
So glad to hear that your surgery went well.
You’ll be up and running before you know it!!!
Try to take it easy until then.
Hope you have a nice restful week!!!
Glad to hear from you now that the surgery is over. I hope you feel well enough to enjoy your down time.
Hi Lauren!
I’ve honestly got to tell you that I am a bit worried about you! You are doing way toooo much, girl. Please slow down–you can’t possibly keep up this pace.
You really are like a ‘WonderWoman” though…Can’t believe all the wonderful projects you keep pumping out.
Take time to smell the roses, as they say. Enjoy you kids and your family. You’re the best!
Janet M.
Lauren,
You are amazing….or are you Super Woman? You have surgery and are still blogging and sharing. Unbelieveable. We are all so lucky to have you. But do take care of yourself and let your family pamper you like crazy. It is good for their souls, you know.
Adrienne
OMGosh…you have THE sweetest family ever!!!!!!!! Enjoy resting and watching Twilight…I wanna see what the big deal is too!! I’m SO OUT OF TOUCH!
Aw, don’t you just love that?!? When I’m sick with the flu and in bed (rare, but it’s happened twice), I love when the kids are all snuggly and want to be near you.
Take some time to rest, ok? I can’t believe you are blogging already! ;o)
More big hugs coming your way! I hope each day finds you feeling better and better!
Kelsey had her sleep-over birthday party yesterday and we all watched Twilight. It was better than I expected – in fact, I watched it again today. Okay, I admit it… I *really* liked it. 🙂
Now, no more posting. Get some rest! Relax!
Love ya, Renee
I’m glad to read everything is OK! (or going in the right direction!!) Reading about your surgery and recovery reminds me of my C-sections and such… not fun or happy memories!
Big hugs (not too big not to press on your belly!)
XOXO.
I am glad to hear you are recovering and the surgery went well. You were so fortunate to have the surgery before the infection spread. I give you credit for going into surgery without procrastinating until the problem became an emergency.
And thank goodness for vicodin. I can understand how people become addicted. I tossed away my left over tablets when I no longer needed pain relief.
Take care,
Laurie
Lauren – so glad your surgery went well but sad to hear about your reaction to the meds. I went through the same thing about 2 weeks ago with just some general antibiotics. Makes you wish you had a wire grill brush to scratch with. Glad they got everything working well for you now and you are on the road to a great recovery. Thank you for keeping us updated. Hugs, Kimmy
So glad your surgery went well and you are taking it easy and healing. I had my gallbladder out 2 1/2 years ago. Ended up with the four little scars too. Very happy to have it out though and be able to eat without worrying about having another attack! Wish I could have gotten out of that catheter like you did!! 🙂
How did you like Twilight?? Had you read the books first? I just watched the movie this weekend, and I don’t think I would have thought much of the movie if I hadn’t read the books too.
Glad the kids are doing better too. ((HUGS)) to you all and hope everyone is healthy soon!!
