OK so my gallbladder attack REALLY put a lurch in my stamp time!
What little time I did have, I had to prep for Stamp New England (Im most likely there by the time-you read this-Saturday Class! Ill post video/photos soon!!!) and JUST got done at 10pm (Friday)I cant wait to meet everyone!
I also spent the day at the doctors and getting info on my surgery for my gallbladder removal on Friday! Everything looks good for that process, but Ill be living on a VERY BLAND diet till then. I will have it done laproscopically. I don’t HAVE to have the surgery but it is highly recommended as I have TONS of stones!! My doctor said another attack is HIGHLY probable as this has started quite some time ago. I don’t want to live like this any longer than necessary-and the thought of another episode BEYOND freaks me out.
Ill have an afternoon procedure so they want to keep me overnight-especially since I never had any surgery or history of any healthy issues they want to be cautious.
Anyway-All that being said Im so happy to read I’m not alone! Thanks for the kind words and sharing tips and your own experiences and advice! Needed it all.
ย Well that brings me to the “I can’t do it all!” part
I have a sketch but NO sample :C I will definitely get one done this week-promise!
I have a huge to-do list before Im out of commission for several days. Im going INSANE just thinking about it.
OK onto the sketch. Im really tired and need to go.
The keyword is mytimess28
I hope you get to play along!!
Link it HERE!!
Lastly-thanks for stopping by and making my day
I can’t wait to see YOUR take on the sketch and share the fun we had at the class!
Till tomorrow-

We don’t need you to do it all. What we as women need is to take care of us first. We are no good to anyone else unless we do. So missy, take care of you your the best you there is.
Oh, Lauren! I’m so sorry to hear this! I have a funny story to tell you about my husband. I had gall bladder attacks all during my pregnancy. The doctors kept telling me it was heartburn and never would check it out. I just assumed they were right. I had my son and never had another attack the whole 8 weeks I was at home with him. The week I went back to work, I had one. I just felt like someone had body-slammed me against the wall. I went to the hospital and they confirmed what I thought…a gallbladder full of stones. I scheduled surgery for the following week. A few nights after being diagnosed, I had the worst attack ever. I really did think it was a heart attack. I told my husband to call 911 and guess what he said…are you sure that’s necesary? Can you believe it? I could have killed him if I didn’t already think I was dying!! Needless to say, I had the surgery (it wasn’t too bad) and all is well with my marriage (although I will never let him live it down!!). I will be praying for you!
I had that surgery. I am really surprised they are keeping you overnight. If you feel OK you should ask to go home bc you’ll sleep better! It isn’t that painful, you just feel achey from the gas they pump in to lift your abdominal wall away from your organs. The incisions don’t hurt too badly. You will also feel drowsy and yucky from the anesthetic. I was eating normally right after except I would feel nauseatedif I ate something really fatty, like fries or chips, for about a year. I could have a few, just not a whole box! I wouldn’t expect too much from yourself for 2or3 days but with your energy, you’ll be bounced back in a week or so. Best wishes.
Lauren have a great time at Stamp New England. I hope you’re in the Chicago area some time. I would love to take a class with you. You are a great teacher! Love, love, love, the bun in the over and the sock buns/cupcakes. Way too cute! Best of luck with your surgery. All good wishes for a speedy recovery!
Hi Lauren,
Best of luck to you. Do the bare minimum that you can get away with, and take care of yourself!! We don’t need a sketch, we need to know that you are ok, and looking after yourself!!
I am totally amazed at all your wonderful work! However, I want you to GET WELL and not worry about any little thing until you are better. maybe you can invite a stamping friend of yours to do a guest blog post and update us on your condition.
You are in my prayers and I hope you recover very quickly!!
Hi Lauren,
I’m glad to hear that all is “well”. What a scary experience for you and the family.
I had mine taken out the same way last year – marvellous!! the attacks are so incredibly painful – like nothing you’ve ever imagined before- including childbirth! so have no fear, your energy and life will soon be back to normal! Good luck,
Suzanne x
Hi there Lauren.
I stumbled across your blog while doing a search for card templates and I am so glad I did. Your work is just gorgeous and I’ll be popping back in for sure.
Hoping all goes well with the gall blader issues.
Julie
Best of love chook! (That’s what we call chickens over here in Australia). The whole countries rooting for you! Well maybe not but I surely am. Kudos Kiddo!
Lauren,
I had the surgery a couple of years ago and it was not bad at all. I had my surgery on a Friday afternoon, stayed overnight, rested most of Saturday when I got home and was back to my normal self on Sunday. You’ll do great, I’m sure and will be back to sharing your wonderful ideas in no time.
P.S. The bland diet’s not too bad. I actually lost a couple of pounds before surgery. Woo hoo!
Oh I’m so happy that you can have it done so quickly! You will be good to go in no time! You will be back up and doing your stamping fun stuff before you know it!
Thanks for the sketch!
Have fun at Stamp New England!
Lauren, my attack(s) were so similar to your!! I put it off as well, thinking it was something else. Long story short, I had the lap procedure as well and have been feeling great ever since, 8 years now. I had no need for diet restrictions post-procedure. Good luck to you! You’ll be feeling great in NO time!
Lauren, us moms can’t do it all. We would love to but sometimes we have to step back and take a break. It’s unfortunate you need to have this surgery but at least it is a common one. You will need to “rest” during this period. We will ALL understand!!! I’m sure your family will as well. We aren’t going anywhere. We will wait for you to bounce back. Just don’t rush back on our account. You may want to have a journal around you in case you come up with creative ideas! I wish you the very best luck.
(((HUGS))) Lauren. It’ll be okay.
I hope you and Paulette have fun this weekend. And you know what – we’ll survive if you can’t give us daily eye candy. So take care of yourself, and try not to stress. Easier said than done I know. Hang in there.
Lauren, do NOT feel bad that you didn’t have time to make a card for your sketch. My goodness girl it’s good for the rest of us to see you’re human and not super-girl! Enjoy your class, and you know we’ll all be here when you get back! We love you!
Hi Lauren,
I am so sorry you have to go through that!. Everything will be fine. Good luck, my prayers are with you.
Kris
Good luck, I had my gallbladder removed last year & my daughter did this year. It was the best thing I ever did. I had been having pain for 3 months before I went in to the doctors. I have had no complications after. Recovery wasn’t bad just a few days of feeling sore. Again, good luck you will soon feel better.
Tanya
Oh, Lauren, I am so sorry that you are feeling so bad. The surgery will be the best thing. Everyone I have talked to says that after the removal they felt tons better. Please make sure you are getting enough rest. You always push yourself so hard.
Thanks for replying to my last post. I feel for you girl! I am must happier with it gone. Just 4 teeny tiny scars, that are almost un-noticeable.
The diet will definately have to remain pretty bland after the surgery too! But not having the fat in our diet is a bonus in my opinion, after all that is what started this whole thing right! Hope you have a stress free week, and a speedy recovery!
So… Friday’s the day….
Oh golly, talk about bittersweet – I want you to feel better but I hate the thought of surgery, ya know?
Okay… I want you to do me a favor…
Just think about yourself and your family. Nothing else! okay? Just take a week or two off. We’ll miss you like crazy but understand completely.
Dang, I wish I lived closer.
Holding you in good thoughts and lots of prayers!
Love ya,
Renee
Best of luck Lauren!! and like everyone else said DONT WORRY about examples.. get yourself well.. we will all be waiting here when you feel better!!!!
Have fun at your class today!!! (so wish I was close and could have went!!!)
I have to tell you I have made 2 of the captured card cases so far.. LOVE LOVE LOVE that one!!! so gonna work on some bunnies this week from the bun in the oven template!
Take care YOU!!!
Hi Lauren..
So sorry to hear about your gallbladder
attack..so scarey ๐
My thoughts and prayers are with you
and your family. Get the care that you need..
take some time off and get well rested!
We will be right here waiting.
“Get well soon”
Hugs…
Dee
Hey Lauren! So I’ve been so busy and SO BAD at blogging I didn’t realize you were having gall bladder issues! I’m so sorry girl! I had my gallbladder taken out last year and boy was it scary! I had never had surgery before either so I was freaking out…but I had the same (lap.) and it was so worth it! Those attacks are just AWFUL! My thoughts are with you! Hang in!
I hope everything goes well for you! After it’s done atleast you won’t have to worry about those attacks!
I had a laproscopic partial hysterectomy in 2007, I tell you that is the way to go! I didn’t even have stitches showing, they were on the inside and I was just glued together!
I will keep you in my prayers Lauren…good luck and God Bless!!
The most important thing you can do for yourself and all of us is to take good care of yourself! I know that you will do well with the surgery…but remember, even though the incisions are small, the surgery is bigger on the inside. Listen to your body, rest and don’t push yourself too hard to get back into a full schedule. I will keep you in my prayers. Thanks again for all that you do to create inspiration in each of us!
Hi Lauren –
I have recently found your site, and am thrilled I have. You are such a talented person, and I actually look forward to seeing what you create each day. What an artist!! TFS.
Now it’s time to take care of you. All the best in the coming days. Will keep you in my prayers.
Waow! :-0 I am glad to read it was “only” a gallbladder attack and that the problem will be fixed soon. Isn’t it crazy that you can be punished for eating healthy!!!!
I hope you feel better. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Lauren, I am so glad to hear that you are having the surgery done, you will feel so much better afterward and no more worries of the attacks. It is so much easier now the way they do it and hardly any scarring. You can’t even see them unless you really look. Take it easy and don’t worry about getting things done for us we will be here when you feel up to it again. Good Luck!!
Lauren, Good luck with the surgery. Take it easy when you get home. Surgery of any kind, will leave you dragging for a few days. Don’t overdo it right away. We will all be here waiting for you when you are back!
I’ll be thinking of you and you will be in my prayers.
I don’t know how you do everything you DO do! LOL Does that make sense…? You are amazing to me. I hope you are feeling better soon!
Leather Shoulder Handbags…
Unconventional good stuff here. I normally don’t find nothing but junk but when I get something I know my people will like I link back. This is good stuff and I hope you don’t mind if I add a link back to you from my website….
Lauren, I read your blog pretty much every day and am wowed by your creative brain! Make sure you rest up after your op and only come back to crafting/blogging when you’re ready!
I had a lap last year for different reasons, the main thing that hurts is the gas that stays in your body from when they blow up your tummy. Be prepared for some pain in your shoulders (apparently that’s where the gas goes to – and I can say it does!) Oh, and don’t watch any comedy the day after your op – my other half nearly killed me by putting some on – laughing was not a good thing for a few days! Any way hope that didn’t scare you! I’ll be thinking of you, good luck. Gemma, UK.
Oh Lauren, I’m sorry you’re feeling like garbage, but I’m glad you’re finally getting that gallbladder out. Don’t freak out trying to get everything done before surgery. In fact, DON’T try to do everything, ok? You have a wonderful family and I know they will be picking up and helping you out a lot.
I am new to your blog, but wanted to tell you, I have been there, done that too! I had been having those attacks for so long , since I was like 16, then I finally had a really bad one. I ended up having the surgery, which would have been ok, because they were doing that laprscopicaly, but I also had two huge hernias that had to be repaired,so the Dr. did all three things at once. I was laid up much longer than you should be, with three surgeries, but you should be up and around in no time! I hope so, and will be thinking of you! I will be visiting your blog more often, it’s very nice!
Lauren,
So glad to hear you are having the surgery and that they are able to do it so quickly!!! I’m sure you will bounce back quickly – but make sure you don’t come back to quickly!! Let your body tell you when it’s ready. My thoughts will be with you!
Good luck with everything Lauren! Even though it’ll be done laproscopically…which will be much easier to recover from…remember that it’s still surgery, and you’re still having an organ removed! Everyone recovers at their own pace and everyone recovers differently, so listen to your body, and take it easy! Follow doctors orders, and you’ll do just fine!
Lauren – STOP – you are not super woman – give yourself a break – your body needs to deal with what is going on and you need your energy for the surgery and recovery. Hope the next few days go well for you and you are feeling better soon.
Just take care of yourself. When you are feeling better we will get to see lots of great stuff.
{{{hugs}}} Lauren! I am so glad that you got your surgery scheduled so quickly! I remember that I felt so much better after I had mine out–I didn’t realize that I was not feeling my best–I guess it came on slowly! Here’s hoping for no more attacks before friday.
Take care of yourself, girl. We’ll be here when you get back. =)
Yes, have the surgery. I’m not good with pain and too ignored my issues until it came to a ride in the ambulance and then another attack at work. Not fun. But I would never EVER want another attack again, so even though the surgery was hard for me cuz I’m a terrible wimp, lol…it’s still WAY better than dealing with a bad gallbladder. So we are all here for ya. Take care and get well soon. ๐
Was so fun to meet you today, I’m glad you’re feeling better. Hope you took that treat home for once you’re all recovered! ๐
Take care of YOU and take it easy. Remember that little word we chatted about today… you know the one that starts with an “n” and ends in an “o”. giggle.
Best of luck with the surgery, enjoy a little rest and talk to you soon!
my gosh girl!
worry bout you!
get through friday with flying colors & get back posting stuff then ๐
btw you have made such an awesome impact on my crafts…you convinced me to buy some copics…LOL…thanks ๐ really
Miss Queen, it’s all about “YOU” now, take care of you, everything will fall in place…….had the surgery about 12 years ago..you’ll do fine. Prayers with you and family….
Susie
PS loved the cupcake socks………
I had the same thing done last yr. So not fun! The attacks that is. Once you get out of there, you will be all good! Praying for you!
Sending happy thoughts and wishes from Sicily. Just know there are so many folks out there that love visiting your blog and look to you for so much of our inspiration. Thank you for always being so generous with your time and creativity. Hope your feeling better soon.

Just wanted to send GET WELL wishes your way. Thank you so much for the amazing tutorials & projects that you so generously share with us. I am truly a “visual” stamper and couldn’t do it without you ๐ Rest up! I know you’ll emerge full of fresh new ideas.
Oh Lauren, please don’t ever feel the need to apologize for not posting!!! You are an amazing woman, wife and Mum and that is number 1, not to mention your health!
Take the time out to care for YOU! You truly deserve the break, and spoil yourself for all your hard work, which I am so thankful for!
Take care
Love keesh x
Good luck with your surgery on Friday. I’ve had the procedure due to tons of stones. It’s rather simple. You just end up with 4 little scars in areas that you’ll never have to worry about. Prayers to you. Looking forward to seeing what you create after your recovery.
aw sweetie, no one expects you to do it all! You do so much already – way more than I (and I am sure most of us) could ever manage!! Take your time and get well! I’ll be praying for you!
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. You get some rest and feel better. Here is my take on your sketch. Hope you like it! I have it listed on my blog at http://creativevalleycreations.blogspot.com/2009/03/pink-poodle-timeless-28.html
Hope it makes you smile!
isn’t it funny how body stuff like gall bladders and illnesses get in the way of REAL life???? so annoying.. lol
i have to get mine removed to (and like you i’m FREAKED about having another attack) and all i can worry about is if i will have to take days off of school to get the operation.. hehe..
hope yours goes well.. i’ll be looking forward to hearing about it when you get back.
tobi
Just thought I would let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayer’s. It is a good thing you are geting it taken care. You are lucky. I went through all of that while caring my little girl. They tried to tell me it was haert burn. I went through pure He** for 7 months. Then two weeks after I had her I went to the ER and they admited me right away. No food or anything for me for about a week. All my levels were so high. The pain last for a few days during this. Mean while my baby was turning a month old and I couldn’t see her. The piont being is that I am so very happy that you didn’t have to stay there when you found out. I am going to pray for you and I know once you get out you will feel so much better. Good luck! I look forward to hearing how it went.
Kim
I had the surgery years ago and it is a piece of cake!!
I am the biggest baby in the world and I would have it
done again tomorrow. I had to stay overnight, it was
a small surgery center and I had the whole place to myself.
I even have a video of my surgery. It was so new, they
were required to film it. It took me several tries before I
could watch it.
I was lucky, I never had the attack like you did. Hang in
there and best of luck on recovery…..
Lauren,
I had my gall bladder out over two years ago. The surgery was easy peasy…I promise! ๐ It was the being super sick while pregnant, etc, that was hard! I will be thinking and praying for you!
I had mine out but not until I managed to get pancreatitis from the back up my gallbladder was causing. Much better to do it now instead of wait! I hope all goes well and you are feeling better soon! oh BTW I love your new projects. I haven’t had much free time but you can be sure I will find the time soon!
