Sometimes its the “Simple Things”

Texted Boxed Gift Wrap Set

 texted-boxed-set.jpg

I really believe that the simplest gifts, are the most amazing, elegant and beautiful. They also aren’t the easiest to achieve. I am all about the SIMPLE-WOW! You don’t need a bazillion layers to get a gorgeous gift. Now that is just my opinion. I love clean and simple.

When I create something I like to place it on my shelf, step back,  and ask myself “Would I buy you if I saw you in the store?” “Would this pop out at me?”.

Well with this set I made, I would have to say DEFINITELY!!! Mission accomplished.

Today I needed to create a simple gift for a Auction. My time is tight, and I wanted to create several various gifts for this and needed the cards to be clean, elegant, and simple. BUT not look like I threw it all together-KWIM? I also wanted them to appeal to be given to male or female recipients.

I was really inspired by my choice of Evening Terrace paper  by Martha Stewart, since it is just so elegant. It covers the bottom portion of my simple card wrap.

I decided to turn to a “nature” feel for the set. What better base to use than Kraft cardstock, with a touch of Vintage Cream. I then felt that the “oldie but goodie” set Texted Boxed would be perfect.

You can see that you really could take ANY one of the four cards, and create a fast and simple, but gorgeous gift for anyone. I am kicking myself for not having this planned for Teacher gifts!! GRRR!!! I wanted to use a variety.

This entire set (design time included since I had NO idea what I was doing ) was 25 minutes!! Now having already designed the sets, if I wanted to quickly make several it would be mush faster. These are just simple, single layers.

Simple Card Stationary Wrap

This is the card wrap I created, to hold all 4 cards, and envelopes.

The “Thank You” sentiment is from Women of Life.

I love taking the rectangle leaf box image, and punching a portion of the leaf out with my 1 1/4 circle punch, then layering onto kraft or vanilla.

Little Leaf

For this card I combined Polka Dot Basics, with the label image from Limitless Labels.

You may not be able to see from the photo, but I used my Scor-Pal to score the lines in between the 2 borders. A nice and simple touch.

Simple Circles

I love the clean and simple look this has. Using the Borders & Corners Circle set really accentuates the circles here.

Thank You Leaf

This is the simplest one and I just LOVE it. The little knot just adds so much to this clean card. This card was designed after the card under it.

I believe in you

This sentiment is from Mailbox Greetings. That set has the BEST group of sentiments! I just adore it.

So there you have it. Clean and simple.

Hope it inspired you to try a clean and simple gift set. Who can’t use card sets? Really anyone. Its the go-to gift idea when you have no idea what to get. It is also good to keep on hand for the times when you realize “Aunt Annie” is over and her birthday was last week, and you forgot. So you grab your little set and act like it was just waiting for her! LOL!

Well I gotta run. Its a beautiful day here, and the kids want to go to the park.

Have a super day. I have a Unity Peek for you later, with a giveaway!! Don’t miss that.

EDITING TO ADD: I used CTMH (Close to my heart) White Craft ink. I have to say it is the BEST I have ever used! And I have owned a LOT of white ink pads in my day.
