Enough is enough Elzy

ENOUGH PATTERNED PAPER!

That is it. I am banning myself from buying ONE more piece of patterned paper! Not ONE!  (I didn’t say cardstock-just patterned). I have an addiction to pretty papers, but obviously don’t use them as often as I buy them.

Today I was on the hunt for a CERTAIN piece of patterned paper, and for the life of me I could NOT find it. I keep all my PP together in a 12 X 12 stackable drawer container. What I THOUGHT was very organized.

Well, since I couldn’t find the ONE piece I wanted, I decided I needed to RE-ORGANIZE -ALL OF IT! Yes, I re-organize my stuff pretty often. It is vital to knowing/using what you have, and weeding out stuff you no longer have a taste for. Heck, sometimes (like today) it’s like you went shopping again. I found some CUTE stuff Iforgot I had. Plus its part of my OCD.

My other problem-WHY did all my paper fit BEFORE it was organized, and after I organized it didn’t fit so well? Now that is ODD.

Anyway-I may as well share the card that caused me 2 hours of an organizing frenzy, when I should have been making Wedding invites. Its amazing what we will do to NOT do something else isn’t it?

elzy-swings.jpg Enjoying Spring

I wish!

I love this large Elzybell-girl on a swing (from UK site which is under construction :C). See her feet dangling off the edge-CUTE!

EDITED TO ADD:

The Elzybell’s from A Muse are much smaller, so make sure you check the sizes before you buy them 😀 If you purchased her from A Muse she would be MUCH smaller.

This one is from the original Elzybell’s designer in the UK.

Her images are much bigger. A Muse basically picks what they want, then shrinks them down.

Some are super cute tiny some are super cute big. Just wanted you to know to check the sizes 😀

I am sending someone some images of her, and had to make a card to match. Needless to say-I was still frustrated over my paper woe’s so had a hard time working out a layout. Oh well. It’s a but unbalanced to me-but that’s life. I didn’t want to wait on sending it any longer. I do like that I used different colors that I normally would.

I loved this paper, and wanted to use ot for this card. I only bought ONE sheet (no, not today, a while ago)! It’s by Imaginesce.

THAT PAPER IS WHAT CAUSED MY TIZZY!!! Was it really worth it? Not sure yet. Maybe next time when I can actually find that ONE piece I am looking for.

I’m not fabulous at 51/2 square cards either, so that didn’t help my cause.

Anyway-She looks cute. I colored her with my Copic’s. Punches are the Punch a Bunch one’s that ATS will get in soon!!! Ribbon is May Arts.

Hope you all have a great day! Im locking mysef in my stamp room while the kids are at school and PRAYING I finish the Wedding invites TODAY! I have ton’s of fun things I WANT to do, and until this is over with, I don’t feel FREE to do so.

Later!

April shower’s bring May flower’s

simple-sweet-flower.jpg Simple little flower pot

(this card uses the flower post/leaves from Can ya dig it-details below. What a cut card to mass produce huh? Bow Farme Cuttlebug folders-here)

Well it’s Wednesday-the week is half over (YEAH!!).

We got horrible thunder and lightning storm last night, with a down pouring of rain. The whole house SHOOK! Pretty freaky.  I hate thunder and lightning. I use to get really scared, but grew out of that. This storm was a little creepy.

My grandmother was always petrified of thunder/lightning, to the point she would close ALL the blinds, and make us hide under the kitchen table, if a storm hit. We weren’t aloud near the sink, tub or window’s.

If it was going to rain, she would not leave the house. It was a very crippling fear for her, and every-time it rains I think of her.

I was hoping the term APRIL SHOWERS WILL BRING MAY FLOWERS-will be brought by that storm. I am SOOOO ready for spring. I can’t look at one more winter image. I need TULIPS, and BUTTERFLIES again.

As for yesterday’s post-Bee brought to my attention that the flower’s were Lily’s! Thanks Bee! DUH!! I had no idea. As you can tell I don’t know my flower’s! LOL! I will say I still like them as Daffodil’s 😀 and think they served the purpose I wanted them to. I like taking creative liberty 😀 where I can.

My mojo has found it’s way back home 😀 When it’s gone-it’s gone, but it comes back with a vengeance. Since it’s return, I am working on SO MANY insane project’s I can’t wait to be able to share them.

Well for today’s post I have some more yummies to share with the NEW!MFT Release 😀 This release is a smaller one, so better for the wallet. There are only 2 sets this month-Happy Mother’s Day and the one I am sharing today-Can ya dig it! I really LOVE this set. Party/Release details provided below.

I tried to use image’s I thought other people may over look, so I hope you like what I have to share.

Ever since making THIS card, I LOVED having my main image stamped on patterned paper

 barrow-of-blooms.jpg Barrow of Blooms

I used the Memory Box paper-Sprout Collection, for this card. The barrow is paper pieced, and is 3D.  The flower’s are another punch a bunch-punch. Many of you inquired about those, and I an happy to say that I believe All that Scraps will soon be carrying them!! I will keep you posted 😀 There are also some awesome accessories for these as well-YEAH!! Stay tuned OK!

OK so the little flowers, punched from patterned paper, wth liquid pearls in the centers. ( I made the smae flower for the pot card above) The leaves are the bridal confetti, cut apart and colored.

The bird is pieced on an acetate tag.

sew-many-seed.jpg Sew Many Seeds

I just loved all the little seed packets so I used  them for this. I framed them in an embossed rectangle-using my nestabilities. I like the simple embossed edge (used birds and swirls folder), with the scallops.  Inside the card is a gift certificate to a local greenery. Just a quick card. I love the clean and simple look.

I think its easy to find what suits you by going to a card shop, and browsing. WHAT catches your eye immediately? Is it the layered/embossed cards, of the insanely simple/colorful ones?

I try to make things that I would buy from a store. Make sense?

Anyway I hope you will join me and the MFT team for some chatter tonight!

PARTY DETAILS!

My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, April 2 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. Well today is another peek with Queenie from C.C. Designs. I need to make something using her. So I hope to be back a little later.

Till then, I hope you enjoy the day. It sort of does feel like spring today here in New Hampshire 😀

Lovely Little Daffodil’s-so much meaning

Apr 1, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

April Fools! How is it April already?

Well many of you know that Cancer research is a cause that is dear to my heart. When I saw this month’s Mini set byMFT -Happy Mother’s Day, I was very excited because it featured Daffodil’s.

Here is what a daffodil represents:

DAFFODIL: Regard, rebirth, new beginnings, unrequited love, you’re the only one, chivalry. Associated with the tenth wedding anniversary. Also the birth-flower for March.

DAFFODIL, SINGLE: Misfortune.

DAFFODIL, SEVERAL: Joy, happiness.

As the first flower of spring, the daffodil is a symbol of hope. To the American Cancer Society, it represents the hope we all share for a future where cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease. You can provide hope to all people affected by the disease by participating in the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days.

Anyway-I love supporting causes like this. I made this card below, to accompany a bouquet of Daffodil’s for Alexa’s Oncologist as a way to say thank you!

daffodil-day-thanks.jpg Daffodil of thanks

I took the main image, and stamped it onto black cardstock. I embossed it with silver EP. I then painted it with my Pearl Ex and Future Floor wax.

It gives such a pretty look in person. Lot’s of shimmer.

I then cut out JUST the potted daffodil’s and layered them onto a punched circle. I had stamped the sentiment block from Behind the Scene’s , on the base, and layered this over it.

I don’t know WHY but “I” totally love this card! Maybe because it is so clean and simple-and yellow is the color of hope as well.

Now we will show more detail!

This is the same image, as used in the card above. I love the paper (by memory box Aerial collection) peeking through the space around her. I positioned the paper, so the bird was sitting there, as if in a window.

daffodil-day.jpg

Around the block the sentiment reads:

Thank you for being a gift in my life, loving without condition, giving all of yourself.

Isn’t that what mother’s do? I know my mom did that for us. I hope I am doing the same for my children.

We shouldn’t JUST recognize our mother on ONE day. Or anyone else for that matter. I don’t think you “get motherhood”, until you become a mom yourself. So many things our mother said and did, that didn’t make sense-till we felt it, or the horrible day come’s where her EXACT words spew from our own two lips! You know the one’s you swore you’d NEVER say! I hate that! LOL!

Anyway-just wanted to share this stuff with you. Remember to appreciate your mom, or that other someone special, and appreciate everyday you wake up and take a breath! EVEN MONDAY’S! LOL!

I know I am so thankful that Alexa is *almost* done her treatment, and doing so well. I have a higher power to thank for that. Many aren’t as blessed.

So today’s message-give lots of hugs and kisses to those who matter-don’t wait for tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow-I’ll see ya then!
