I have a bunch of friends, going through a bunch of bad times :C
That makes me a bit sad.
When I was a little girl I would always sing this song, and I still LOVE it! So this is to anyone who needs a little something today, or hurts for someone in their life.
LISTEN TO IT —–> HERE! Open it in another window, and read along I hope it cheers you up!
Here are the words:
Can’t Smile Without You-by Barry Manilow
You know I Can’t Smile Without You,
I Can’t Smile Without You,
I can’t laugh
and I can’t sing,
I’m findin’ it hard to do anything.
You see, I feel sad when you’re sad,
I feel glad when you’re glad,
If You only knew what I’m go ing through,
I just Can’t Smile Without You.
You came along just like a song
and brightened my day,
Who’d’ve believe that you were part of a dream
Now it all seems light years away.
And now you know I Can’t Smile Without You,
I Can’t Smile Without You,
I can’t laugh and I can’t sing,
I’m finding it hard to do anything.
You see, I feel sad when you’re sad,
I feel glad when you’re glad,
If you only knew what I”m going through,
I just can’t smile.
Now some people say happiness takes so very long to find.
Well I’m finding it hard leaving your love behind me.
And you see,
I Can’t Smile Without You,
I Can’t Smile Without You,
I can’t laugh
and I can’t sing,
I’m findin’ it hard to do anything.
Y ou see, I feel sad when you’re sad,
I feel glad when you’re glad,
If You only knew what I’m going through,
I just Can’t Smile Without You

Now doesn’t that make your day?
Here are the cards I had to send to some of these special people!
This sentiment speaks volumes! Its called Heartfelt Phrases, and I LOVE IT! I used it for both my creation’s today.
You could give this anytime. But for my special friend, it says it all!
I went with the “out of the box” theme again, and found this to be a very cheery card, when all was said and done. The felt flower from SU! added so much texture. I love the circle cut-out, and the scallop border!
The flower flourish is the same from yesterday-HERE
Jason informed me that is card was GROSS! He hates the green. What does he know?
This was done using the circle from Border’s and Corner’s set. I love how elegant and clean this is. SIMPLE POP!
Next up, another card for a friend
This card uses Anniversary Birds. I just inked it up with some various pinks by Colorbox. The flower in the back is Elegant Flourish by Hero Arts. I liked it popping out from the back.
In stead of grass, I let my bird sit on the scallop ground 😀
Just a simple card to cheer up a friend.
Told you Ive been on a spender bender! YIKES!
Well thats it for today. As always LOTS to do. Hope you enjoyed today’s post!
Id love to hear a song that cheer’s you up, or you sang as a child.
I use to always sing -You are my sunshine too.
Well have a sunny happy day!
Till tomorrow-

Kristine;)
Beautiful!! I love the colors you used! They will brighten anyone’s day!!
Lauren, once again you amaze me with your ideas! I like both cards, but the second one is just great. I love your idea of the scallop border as grass.
Love, love, love these cards! TFS! (I used to sing You Are My Sunshine, too!)
OMGosh, Lauren, I LOVE these cards and the colours are awesome together, so bright and cheery!! The stamps are beautiful as well! These cards would put a smile on anyones face….well, except Jason…ROFL!!!
Hey, at least your Jason gave you an opinion, even if it was wrong! 🙂 I get a series of grunts and nods when I ask my Jason for opinions on crafty stuff. I think the cards are great. I think they will brighten your friend’s days for sure. -Molly B
Your colors are so vibrant together, they really pop. Thanks for sharing, I love coming to see what you make.
Beautiful cards Lauren!! I love them both, but the first one just WOWs me! The flowers, the colors…it’s awesome 🙂 TFS~

Beautiful Lauren! I’m sure your friends will greatly appreciate them! The colours are wonderful….the designs are lovely…..overall they are very cheery!
these cards are great, love the colors you used, so pretty and I am sure will be appreciated.
Cards are just beautiful! I love shades of green and pink together! Reading the words to “Can’t Smile Without You” sure brought back memories. I LOVE Barry Manilow! LOVE HIM! I used to listen to his albums with my mom and help her clean the house! It was a weekly ritual. We would all sing at the top of our lungs and dance (my sisters and I) while we helped my mom dust. Our favorite was “Copacabana” as we would use the feather dusters and pretend we were “Lola”! Too funny! You definitley made me smile this morning, Lauren. Thanks a bunch!
Your work is gorgeous as always. There’s nothing like getting a card from a friend, especially one she made. I sang “You are me Sunshine” chorus as a a lullaby to my babies all the time. it is still my fallback song whenever I need one to cheer me up or remind me of how much I am loved by them, too.
W O W ! Gorgeous!!!
Lauren,
This song was the song that my youngest daughter, (also named Lauren) did her “daddy dance” to in her dance recital. All the dads sat in chairs on the stage and the girls – aged 5-6 – came up behind them and tapped on their shoulders and then jumped in their laps. Then they jumped down and helped the dads stand up and they danced together on stage. The entire audience could not stop saying “Awwwwww” and I sat there and cried. Lauren is my youngest of three and she and her daddy looked so wonderful on that stage. I’m not even sure if there was anyone else on the stage with them! I wish I could attach a pic to this comment b/c they look so beautiful together. thanks for bringing that sweet memory to my mind today! ~Jill G.~
Lauren, we totally listened to that song when we were little! I love it still!
Very cute cards!! Too funny about Jason…..gross seems rather harsh, doesn’t it….even if he didn’t like it?! Hahaha!
Anyway, you know we all think it’s super cute!
Gorgeous cards…I’m sure they will be well received! Who would not be cheered up by THOSE??!! They are beautiful.
Love that song, too…a classic. . . you are so sweet to always be thinking of others.
Have a wonderful end-of-the-week! 😀
Lauren- these cards are beautiful. I love the colors together. Your friends will appriciate these.
Wow these are so gorgeous, love the colors. Sure to lift their spirits!!
That song makes me think of “Four Weddings and a Funeral” 🙂 I love the cards, even if your hubby thinks the green is “gross”!
Have a great day! And, as always, thanks for sharing your amazing talent with us!!
Wow, they’re both beautiful cards! I love the cut out area on the pink panel for the design! They’re guaranteed to cheer up your friends!
Lauren,
These cards are just gorgeous, so elegant. I so enjoy your blog. I checked it out everyday. It is so inspiring.
I like Barry Manilow also.
Janet
These cards are so sweet and pretty! Certain to cheer someone up!
these cards are both so adorable!!!! Thanks for sharing. I too have friends gong through tough times and you have inspired me to get stamping for them!
Great song — one of my favorites as a kid! Love your cards — the designs are so cool, and the colors are terrific!! 🙂
That is a nice song indeed!! And so are those cards!!
Yes, these cards are both so gross — tee hee! Seriously, I love how beautiful they are, and the cards you posted before, too. Gosh, I love these Hero Arts stamps! You are such an enabler–just what I need. You always have pretty things here that make me feel good to look at them–kind of soothing and quieting in a way. Thank you!
OMG…I have to tell you….that is the song I danced with my dad to on my wedding day (2001)! Let me tell you…it was a FUN dance and everyone was clapping & cheering! My dad passed away a year later and everytime I heard this song I would get choked up. Because, like the song says “I can’t smile without you”. Fast forward to today…it is now the song I sing to my dd’s when they are having a rough day! My oldest (4) will calm right down and sing with me…even if she has been bawling her eyes out! It can still get me choked up but I’m so glad to have that connection (in my mind) with my dad and my daughters (whom he never met). I’m having a rough day today…pmsing or something (LOL) and reading your post just almost made me cry…but in a good way. Thanks for sharing!
Debbie
ack! I’ve been so buys with the release i’m goen for 4 days of your bog and come back to see about 20 new cards!! How do you find the time?? These are all such beautiful project, my fave in the you’re on my mind, just fantastic! have a great day, sorry ot hear about your friends troubles, I was going through that a few months back, it’s hard to see freinds struggling 🙁
I love your cards. You inked them so beautifully. Those cards would make anyone smile. That’s a great song. It was one of my favorite when I was little too.
Lauren – as usual, you are an inspiration! My favorite “cheering-up” song is “You Are My Sunshine”. It became mine when I was a child about a hundred years ago and still cheers me up when I’m feeling blue. Hadn’t thought about using it for card inspiration for my friends until today. Keep inspiring me!
Just beautiful, Lauren. Wish I could come up with the beautiful designs you do.
Oh Lauren, these are so gorgeous! I’ve never heard that song before, but I love it. What a great pick me up song. I always love the Beach Boys when I’m blue – especially Don’t Worry Baby.
Lauren, I’ve been banging my head against the wall today and yesterday, and needed that song; now I’m crying. Thanks. Need to go check out Verve’s website too. Tell Jason I said he’s not allowed to say any of your cards are gross only mice are gross. Let me tell you, the bird card is even more pretty IRL than on the computer screen. 🙂
I LOVE the card with the bird. So beautiful. And I’m sure anyone would appreciate receiving it and being reminded that you care.
Lauren,
I love the pinks on the cards, but can’t say I am a big fan of the color green that was used either. The designs are great though. I used to sing you are my sunshine. I still sing that to my kids, before bed. That and Jesus loves me. I sing that one to them as well.
I was singing along in my head – both cards are great – hubby is wrong!
OH MY GAWD Lauren! Love those cards! Gorgeous colors, layouts, embellies…everything!
Both are just gorgeous and sure to cheer ANYONE up. . .even with the green! LOL Love what you did with the bird!
Lauren,
I don’t know how you do it but your cards are always both playful AND elegant. These 2 cards are no exception. And I love how you two-toned your flowers.
Simply beautiful!

I am a huge fan of Manilow — and I love that song. Thank you for brightening my day. Your creations are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your work!
Wonderful cards…..I like the little bird and the scalloped grass.
beautiful cards and the color combo
OK, I admit it….I like Barry Manilow..there, I said it! Growing up in the 70’s listening to classic rock like Led Zeppelin and Bad Company we would have never admitted to liking Barry!! lol! While I’m on the subject.I like ABBA too!! AAAHHHH!
Oh yeah, by the way..love the cards! Who cares what Jason says. Men!!
My song was always Annie’s “The sun will come out, tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow…” I always wanted to be like Annie and be always happy and strong, no matter what! Thanks for the inspirational blog. I love checking out your work.
Lauren,
You are so special. ♥ If I could crawl through my computer and give you a big ole thank you hug, I would. Thank you……
The mailman brought me this gorgeous card yesterday. I can’t tell you how touched I am. OMgoodness, the card is ‘over the top’ gorgeous. I can’t help but smile just by looking at it. I absolutely love the flowers ‘spilling’ out of he circle frame, the felt flowers, the cut out circle, the scalloped side…. everything!
I’ll be giving you a call hopefully today. Thank you, Lauren!
Hugs,
Renee
Holy heck girl! You totally amaze me. LOVE what you did with the Verve birdie.
Beautiful cards, I love those sentiments, they are perfect for this type of card!
I sort of copied your pink bird with flower on my project. I just made it and posted on my blog today. I hope you don’t mind. Thanks. Here’s a link if you’d like to check it out:

The bird card is soooo adorable. Just love it! I love reading all your little stories. They are the highlight of my evening. Just make me laugh a lot. Have a great weekend and hope you can relax a bit, Beatrice
I am a little behind in my blog reading and just saw this tag line. My Mom used to sing that to me when I was a little girl. She passed away 2 years ago and I still can’t listen to this song without sobbing. It is a great song!!!

It’s great fun to see what you are going to post each day — great creations. Your examples from Anniversary Birds sent me over to order it — should arrive today!!! Thanks!
Love the colors…I have been on a pink/green color combo kick…so I love these!
Charmaine
Gorgeous cards! The green is so not gross. 🙂 The song “Stand By Me” always makes me smile. And my husband sings “You Are My Sunshine” to our 7 week old son and it just makes me melt!
I REALLY like the green. I always end up using pink and brown; resolution, I must try new things, like green!
How could anyone not love green, especially the way you have teamed it here with the pink. your cards are gorgeous.
More Gorgeous Cards…
You are really enabling me… lol
I love those “Heartfelt Phrases” and
the “Borders and Corners” set…
and the rest too!…cute felt flower.
The colors are Beautiful!!!
