YEAH! Its Saturday! My favorite day of the week for SO many reasons.
First let me share the sketch with you all! Click it for a larger view 😀
Jason is home-and cooks the best breakfast EVERY weekend.
He knows my FAVORITE is waffles, so he makes the BEST homemade waffles for me!
The kids so look forward to it. Noah is Jay’s best buddy, and just loves having daddy home- especially if it involves them playing video games together. Its hilarious to watch them. They make the same faces, and know just when to hi-5! LOL!
I plan on hitting the stores before the storm hits, then Jay,the kids and I will all cuddle up on the couch and play the new Wii we got yesterday. WOW it is as cool as they claim!
I have to admit its actually alot of fun! I am NOT a video game person, but Jason loved that I actually played. He wanted one so I would join in the fun. We stayed up WAY too late, and now are paying the price. The kids are up nice and early. Isn’t that always the way?
Now that we have this I’d love to hear what games people are finding the most fun, especially if you have small children 😀
OK so I had the winner of Mytime Mail picked by Random.org, for what will be used for Saturday’s sketch next week.

Tami (tmarie) | Wow, you’ve had a busy week! Your fur-baby is beyond adorable and I always love to see new pics of her! Congrats on all your hits…your blog rocks and I visit faithfully each day! I’d love to see some Chemistry
with Paper since I haven’t seen much of their stuff. Feb 8, 12:52 PM
FUN NEWS!!! I got my copy of the April issue of Craft’s n’Things! I am featured in there 5 times,
using some of your fave's mentioned- C.C. Designs, some Stampin’Up! and a super cool box using
Butterfly Kisses from Papertrey Ink!! I forgot about these projects since they were picked up SO long ago. I also want to congratulate Julia S for being on the COVER!!! As well as Lisa Johnson, Lindsay Botkin,
Trudee Sauer, Keri-Lee Serika and Debbie Olson-who all have fabulous projects in there as well!!!
Great job girls
For those wanting their Papertrey fix-Well you will definitely get PLENTY of that from me-AFTER the 15th. Sorry I can’t use any of the new yummies on my project’s before then. I can tell you they are AMAZING!!!!! Like I really needed to-
I have made SO many samples that I will share, so keep checking in.
I will also feature an array of samples for the other companies over the week-stay tuned for C.C. Designs (got to get my camera batteries charged up), since her release is tomorrow-um, or should I say late tonight
OK onto the card-
I have to say I LOVE bird images, and when I saw this bird from Lizzie Anne I knew it HAD to be mine!
It is called In the Treetop.
I love this card, the FUNKY colors and layout. It can be all occasion ,and it shows versatility for
those tiny images you have. I know you all love
seeing more idea's for those. I also love to repeat images.
Can you say Senic Route? That is the patterned paper that inspired this "partridge family" color scheme ,
in an adorable, not too 70's design.
This layout is actually very quick. I cannot wait to see what YOU do with it!
Send us a link in the comments section, so we can all see your take.
If you are one of the many getting snow sometime today, and tomorrow-stay warm!
I will be back later with some very CUTE samples using the NEW! C.C. Designs sets. Just need to
get my batteries cahrged, and shopping done :D
Till then!!!

Nice all occasion card! Yes we got even MORE snow – where does it come from? And we will have -50 wind chills tonight and tomorrow! brrrrrrrr – tuck in and stay warm!
This card is so cute. I love the different layers and the bird is way cute.
Have a great day with your family. It sounds like it will be the “perfect” day.
Oh we love our Wii too! Some games that Chloe really enjoys are Playground and Carnival games….they are just as you imagine when you hear the names….fun stuff!
Have you done the fitness test yet??? ROFL…I was 80 years old the first time I tried it…haha…you HAVE to try that out…it comes with your Wii!
Your card is beautiful! I can’t wait to try this sketch out. Sure hope I have time today or tomorrow. Time is ticking for our trip on Monday and I haven’t done a THING to get ready. The suitcases are still under the basement stairs, summer clothes still stacked on the top of my closet shelf, flip flops are who knows where….you see where I’m going! lol
What is up with your font on some of your post? You want me to get a magnifying glass? hehe….girl you crack me up!
Have a fab weekend and enjoy those waffles!
Super cute card Lauren! Yes, the Wii is addictive. We got the Carnival Games game, and Shannon has a BLAST…Noah may think it’s lame, since he’s already a gamer, but it is good for family fun night…some of the games on there are kind of tough, but all in all it’s WAY fun…glad we got it.
I too was up WAY late, and of course Nick is working, and NEITHER of the girls wanted to sleep in…I feel your pain 😉
Hugs girlie, stay safe and enjoy that beautiful family!!!
Great sketch, Lauren! I’m going to try to get to it later!
Have fun with the Wii!
Hey Girlie –
I love your card and the layout. I have a couple of cards to make today so this will come in very handy.
Ohhh… I love the Wii. My sister has it and it’s a blast. Which Wii game did you play? One of these days, you’ll have to get Rock Band or Guitar Hero. We play it (xbox360) every chance we can and LOVE it. I swear we’re going to be the next Partridge Family! No…not really 🙂 but it’s still a blast!
Good luck today. DH and I were up really late and Joey, although he slept in *a little* is crabby today. Sigh. Oh well.
Congratulations on your publications and to all the other wonderful ladies you mentioned. It’s fun seeing all the names you recognize!
Happy day!!
Yippe, I won! I’m so excited! Love your card Lauren! We’re still trying to locate a Wii, we’ve been looking for about 2 months with no luck! Congrats on your publications, its so fun to see ladies you “know” in the magazines!
Love that fuzzy paper you used. Have fun playing with the kids. No Wi in this household, no room for it in the living room. My DS loves playing bowling with his friends at the pastors house though.
Ah the Wii! We’ve had ours for about a year now and we don’t play it that much…..bad!
BUT Ava really likes “Cooking Mama”, but she has been playing that on the Nintendo DS for the past year so she knows how to play, it’s not hard at all but the motions can be hard to master sometimes.
And she also likes “Yoshi’s story” or the yoshi game that you can download from the system, it’s older but still a lot of fun. She is ADDICTED to Yoshi! We have a yoshi game for the DS and she will play it all day if we let her. We had to put it away for a couple months too because she was so obsessed with it.
Hi Lauren,
I love all of your work. I’m new to all of this blog stuff but when I found yours I was so excited. Your very creative. As for the Wii we got ours before Christmas my husband is in retail managment.(That helps) We don’t have any small kids my youngest is 16. It was my husband who wanted it. Anyway I’m like you I’m not into video games at all but I must say I did try this out and love the tennis. My daughter and I play that and have a blast. I’m all over the floor like I’m really playing LOL. Again love your stuff.
Sounds YUMMY! My family loves homemade waffles as well. Actually I got a waffle maker for Christmas but have yet to try it out!
The sketch is awesome! I love your card that you created.
Can’t wait to see what you have to show us from PAPERTREY! They are my absolute favorite!!!
Thanks so much for sharing.
We love our Wii. Our daughter with DS(7) plays the carnival games and kicks my bootie! Our 3 year old loves it too! They also love bowling, it is a harder because you have to press buttons are certain times.
Have fun with it, we love it!

great card, love that layout, I will have to give it a try. Can’t wait to see the papertrey stuff. I heard the WII is really cool, we didn’t get one. Did you have to special order one?
Hi Lauren,
Call me simple, but I like the Wii sports that came with the game. I enjoy the bowling and tennis and I can leave the others. My oldest son enjoys Super Mario Galaxy but that is probably because that is the only other we own.
Thanks for all the inspiration!
-Katie
We just rented Rayman Rabbids (the first one) – wow, very fun! Angry rabbits, running, lassoing cows, can it get any better. The kids (11 and 8) loved it, the parents did too! We also have Dance dance revolution. Another very fun one! My suggestion is to rent games to play because some of them are not very fun. Since they are so pricey – we’re buying used ones!
I like pac man, its about the only game I know how to play because if I play any of the other games, i usually get beat. We never get any snow, it was up in the 70’s here and I made everyone go outside a nd play. Here is my card. http://www.susanscornor.blogspot.com. susan
Lauren, you have to try Smarty Pants for the Wii, it is a trivia game that you enter your age so the questions are age appropriate. If you play family, you’ll have to read the questions to Amber, and maybe Noah, but they will be geared towards them. Like what is twinkle twinkle little star like? We love it. I have a 6yo and 3yo. Of course we love bowling and boxing too.
Hey girl! GREAT sketch! I posted mine on my blog this morning! I have to pack now…lol
I’m going to try and get some cards made so my blog doesn’t sit empty for 10 days…YIKES!
I’ll miss seeing your creations but I will definitely catch up when I’m back!!
Thanks for sharing another great layout for small images. Here’s my try at the layout: http://inkingaloud.blogspot.com/2008/02/saturday-sketches-with-new-su.html
Great sketch! I was stumped at first, but here’s what I came up with. 🙂 http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/809034?cat=500&ppuser=122849

We are still impatiently waiting to find the WII..We look and call everyday, and miss out. My daughter wanted this for Christmas. We have bought 3 games, but have not found the main console yet.. Ugh..we are next to Ft. Hood and everyone wants it..have a fabulous Monday! Love the valentines you made for you kiddos..
Hey –
I used your sketch this week, I really hope you don’t mind that I used your sketch to make a card for a challenge.

Thanks!
Hi Lauren. We got the Wii a few weeks ago and we love it. My favorite games are the bowling and tennis on the Wii sports that came with the console. My boyfriend knows that i love to fish so he got me the Hooked fishing game, it came with attachments for the remote to make it into a rod and reel. My 3 year old daughter likes bowling and 4 year old son loves to play tennis and bowling.
Hi Lauren – I was away for a long weekend and am just catching up on your blog today. I know this is waaayyy latee and you already know how awesome your box was received by the stamping masses, but I also wanted to tell you that your egg box with the “carrots” were too creative for words. Congrats on again on being on the PTI team – obviously so well-deserved. So the reason I was posting was to tell you about a Wii game we love – Super Mario Party 8. My kiddos are relatively young – 7 1/2, 5 and 2 1/2 (can’t remember how they line up with yours age-wise). The older 2 love it and Alex (my middle) can totally hold his own. We just give Matthew (the littlest) a controller and he thinks he’s playing so he’s occupied too (tranlation: fabulous stamping time!).
I am soooo not a gamer either and I love it too. We all have a blast playing! Otherwise, we love the sports pack too – again, depending on the game, Aex is totally competitive and can keep up, so it’s a winner in our house. ~Maria
I finally did it Lauren!! This sketch really stumped me but I finally figured it out!!! Very fun, thank you!!
Happy Valentines day to you and your family!
