Oh what a day! Or should I say weekend.
Jason had been on a dog kick for a few months. Lots of online hours. After MUCH research we found a cockapoo (cross between a cockerspaniel and poodle) would better suit our family, wants and needs for a dog.
Iย didn’t want a big dog, too high maintenance, and it had to be good with other animals and of course KIDS. Also easy to train. That equals a cockapoo. We did meet other breeds of dogs as well, but the meeting confirmed our wish.
So I told you how Saturday we spent the day at the puppy place looking for dogs. I didn’t really care, till I met this one. Its so true what they say “The dog picks YOU.”
ย I fell in LOVE with this one, I named Daisy, while on our visit.
NOT A GOOD THING TO NAME A DOG IF YOU AREN’T SURE YOU CAN HAVE IT.
From the second I saw her she was adorable, but more so, SWEET. She instantly sat in my lap, and nuzzled my neck. She got on her back for me to rub her belly. Im mean seriously turned me into a mushy gushy moron ๐ I was in love.
Then, toย only to have Jason say ‘No, I don’t know if I want a dog”. After 2 1/2 hours of debating-we left without her. I thought I would cry.
What he REALLY meant was he didn’t want to spend $1,000 for a dog.
I was so upset we left without her. I thought I’d get over it, but totally could not. I was really upset. Even more so when we made several appointments today to see some other dogs (same breed), but a little cheaper. He said IF I didn’t like the others, he would consider calling to get “Daisy”.
I was already worried, as another couple was considering her while we were there. PLUS I didn’t want to settle. What is the point?
I had my heart set, and mind made up. Why even look at another dog, if this was the ONE I needed?
So, while on the phone with my mom, she told me she would help me get the dog ๐ How could Jason say No right?
I was over the moon happy! Jason was also happy cause he could actually get me the dog without really stressing. (Which WHY look at an expensive breed if you don’t plan on BUYING it?)
MEN!
So I called the breeder, and there was a family there looking at her. She asked if I would DEFINITELY be buying her, and if so I had to come within 45 min. Good thing they are 10 min. away.
Now imagine if I waited? That other family MIGHT have bought MY dog!
So thank you so much MOM! You are the best! Also, thanks Jay for finally caving. Next time don’t bring a family to meet dogs, if you aren’t ready to pay up! SERIOUSLY!!
So I would love you all to see my Christmas gift! I decided to get her instead of a fancy camera, photo editing software, and a graphic program. Well worth it I think ๐
I named her Daisy-cause she is so sweet,ย soft,ย gentle, and loving.
Jason wanted to name her COSTALOT-get it “cost a lot”. I did laughย at that one!!
For the record, Noah tried his best to sway daddy by saying “Daddy I think you need to buy mommy that doggie. She is really sad. She might cry. I think you are being mean”
For Amber to say “Mommy daddy can’t buy you the dog. Its thousands of dollars. Do you have thousands of dollars. No one has thousands of dollars, so you can’t have it”
And she is THREE. A girl after her dad’s heart! LOL!
Thanks for reading my non-stamping related post. Also for the support.
Now I hope to get some eye candy done for ya!

Oh, you are going to love her….take that back…you already do! I can tell.
Oh my, I’m doing the “happy puppy dance” over here. I’m so happy for all of you! I bet the kids are having so much fun with her!
She looks a lot like Bandit did when he was a pup. His breed is called a Peek-a-poo (Pekinese and Bishon Frise (sp?).
Have fun with your new family addition. I’ll be just like having a baby in the house again. ๐ Congratulations!

YAY!!! She’s precious!!
Welcome Daisy! She’s adorable. Bet she’ll have Jason wrapped around her just like Amber does. ๐ Hooray for your Mom too.
oh my!!!!!!!!! she is the most adorable bundle of fur i have ever seen! i never imagined how much i could could love a dog until i got my sassy little westie, Bessie, 5 years ago. she’s a handful, takes after her mother! LOL…but i wouldn’t change a thing about her.
Oh goodie! Have fun with your new puppy. She is so stinkin cute.
Congratulations, Lauren! Daisy is absolutely adorable. She will win Jason over in no time at all. Cockapoos make fantastic pets–my family had two when I was growing up. They are the sweetest dogs and great for a family. Please be sure to get pet insurance. I have learned the hard way with Cosmo . . .
That is one cute puppy! I can see why you would fall in love with her the minute you saw her – how could you not. My brother has a black one and they call her Oreo – she has a bit of white as well. She is absolutely wonderful with the kids and is very well behaved. Great choice!
Oh MY GOSH…I am so happy for you!!! YAY…!!! MOM’s are the best!!! And I agree better gift than some fancy photography stuff!! I think Noah should get an extra special gift for trying to hard to get the dog. LOL. I can’t wait to see the new stuff you will be making for Daisy…you know she needs a new treat jar ASAP. Congrats Lauren
Cute dog! Dh has learned that we never go *look* at dogs. If I fall in love, it’s coming home with us.
Congratulations on getting your Daisy! It’s so exciting to bring a new puppy home. She’s so cute and cuddly. Now that’s what I call “shopping victoriously!”

she is gorgeous, i wish you many happy years with her, a great new addition to any family. xx
She is absolutely adorable! My boys want a dog so badly. We had an English Springer Spaniel for 14 years – big dog = high maintenance. We loved him, though. I’m not sure I’m ready to do it, again. It would have to be a small dog that doesn’t shed…no, I am not considering it! Daisy did not make me cave!
Congrats on your sweet little addition!
Congratulations on your new family member. Daisy is beautiful and I am sure she will bring you and your family much joy. I know exactly how you felt about Daisy as we got Bentley, our chocolate lab, three Christmas’s ago. He picked me – it was love at first sight!
Hugs to all of you.
Teresa
Oh my adorable! Daisy is a cutie that’s for sure!! Our dog is a Shiz Tsu/Cocker cross and she is so smart! Very easy to train. She was a great addition to our family as is Daisy to yours! I’m sure your kids are THRILLED too! A puppy is always exciting!
What a cutie! Congrats!
Congrats on the new puppy! Daisy is a cute one!
i would have fallen in love too, she is adorable! congratulations on your new family member!!!
Congratulations on your new family member, she is better than any high tech gift that I can think of!!! Enjoy……

Congratulations on our new puppy. One book that I found VERY helpful when I got my dog, Emerson, was the Dogs For Dummies book. Don’t laugh! Usually people blow off the simplicity of those books, but that one rocked. Good luck!

Congrats on your new puppy. My avatar on SCS (shorty419) is my dog Lucky. He’s half shih-tzu, half poodle, and looks like your Daisy when we first brought him home. He chose us too, ’cause when they brought him out with other dogs he shared the cage with, he was the only one who followed my husband around. He was only the size of my hand, and we thought he wouldn’t get much bigger, but now at age 9, he’s 25 pounds heavy. We love him too much. He’s our baby. Enjoy the years of happiness your pup will bring you!
Too darn cute! So sorry we didn’t get over to see her yesterday! We’ll definitely visit today! Can’t wait to see Daisy in person! Yay!
Yippee!!!!!!! I just knew that your pouting would get you Daisy! I am so happy for you and I am sure that she will be the greatest doggie in the world. Keep sharing photos of this sweetie. What a great Christmas gift.
Cheryl
Lauren,
I’m so glad you got Daisy! I recently got two schnoodle puppies (schauzer/poodle mixes) and know EXACTLY what you mean about falling in love at first sight. That’s how we ended up with two puppies when we only intended to get one! Enjoy puppy ownership. ๐
Lesley
Welcomd Daisy! I so know what you mean too! I knew I had to have my Daphnee and Daizee when we went to the breeders. (You can see pics on my blog) They were the most lovable of the bunch and their little faces just melted my heart! I had to take them to day to get fixed and I cried when I left them! ๐ I cant wait to pick them up later and have them safely at home! Congrats on your new little one! She is BEAUTIFUL!!!! {SMILES}
Congratulations! I understand how you feel Last year we had lost a 8mo old G shepherd to a horrible disease so my husband decided to get me another one for Christmas the 1st few I looked at I just couldn’t do. I would end up crying and leaving
Finally the weekend before Christmas a friend emailed us a picture of a 2month old Grey/black Shepherd and he stole my heart. He is 15months old now and we love him more than I could imagine. So when it is meant to be you know. Enjoy Daisy !
HURRAY, HURRAY, HURRAY FOR LAUREN AND DAISY!!! I am SOOO happy for you, she is just the cutest thing EVER!!! And I absolutely LOVE her color, how gorgeous is THAT??!! Your Mom is an angel, if ever I heard of one! She knows your heart, and I’m so glad she helped! So welcome, Daisy, to the greatest family ever! I know she will be a wonderful companion for all of you. She is lucky to be with you guys, and I’m sure she DID pick you! CONGRATS!!! ๐
Hey Lauren,
Congrats on your puppy. My story is similar. I now have a blond cocker-spainel. I had looked for several yrs. I knew I wanted a pure breed, but not one that cost thousands of dollars. My daughter looked in the papers daily…LOL
On the day I was setting up my Best Friends church and reception hall for her wedding the next day, my daughter call and yelled, mommy, I found her and for only $160. I was in Modesto and the puppy was in Ripon about 30 min dr.
I left immediately, picked up my daughter and raced to the home. I left a $20 deposit because someone else was coming to look at her. Then ran to the bank and raced back…UGH (what we go through)
I named her Katie. She has been the best dog in the world. I don’t know about cocker mixes, but I’m sure they have the cocker temperment, which is wonderful.
Katie was 8 weeks when we got her and she is now 6yrs old. I can’t make a move in the house that see doesn’t follow me,even if it’s 3 steps from the chair to the couch. She is always at my feet. She was fantastic when my g-babies were born. She would always go up to their carrier and give them a kiss and if possible steal their binky or LOL their bottle. I have the most fantastic photos of these thefts. We ended up having to buy Katie her own binkys because she would steal the babies and hid them outside. hahahaha.
Well enough about my presious pet. I hope that you and your family find as much love and joy for Daisy as we have had with Katie.
Hugs,
Debi
Lauren ~ Good Grief! When do you find the time to read all of your comments…I am so happy you got Daisy…but here comes the fun part…the potty training….I hope you and yours can get through this part. I am so happy for you getting the puppy you really wanted ๐
She’s adorable!!!!! I totally would have fallen for her as well. ๐
she looks like a sweetie pie! I know she’ll get lots of love, and I’m happy for you Lauren!
How sweet! She looks wonderful and you look sooooo happy! Congratulations ๐ may you have many, many, many wonderful years together!
congrats on the new family addition. have you reached that moment when you thought “how did we live without you in our life” yet?
i remember when i got my pure bred miniature american eskimo dog in january 2001. she picked me and was mine from the moment we met. i just had to have her, no matter the cost. luckily she wasn’t as much as daisy, but still a pretty penny.
she has been with us 7 years next month and i can’t imagine life without her. she is my constant companion and even the boys (hubby and son) love her too.
dogs are great companions and give such love. thanks for giving daisy such a good home. enjoy!
She is so cute!!! way to go on making dh cave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY grandparents have always had cockapoos and love them to death they are super easy to train and naturally love everyone!!!
YEAH! She looks like my Pita except Pita was all black. Same face and hair though. WOW! She was expensive. I don’t know where you are the cockapoos here aren’t that expensive. You will get more than that much enjoyment out of her. Is she just 6 weeks old now?
Sheri
How sweet! Congrats on the new addition. The nights are rough at first but, soon she will be sleeping on your bed at night and if she is anything like mine~take up most of the bed. My hubby says that it will most likely be him getting kicked out over the dog, I hate to say it but, he’s probably right:)
Anyway, congrats again!
Lauren,
She is so adorable..She reminds me of a poodle that I grew up with…so he caved?? Great picture of you and Daisy!!!! Enjoy her for the holidays. chris
Know that I read your entry.( I had just watch the video, and stepped away from the computer to come back)..I have to say Daisy is sweet & was meant to be with you!! She is so sweet! Those little furry faces sure do capture your heart. Enjoy!
