Well, I want to start off by saying thank you to all of you for the awesome and sweet comments on my SmileBox creations :D. Your well wishes are so appreciated. Made our day!
I appreciate everyone who comments and checks in. So again-thanks.
I have SO much stuff to share it’s ridiculous! But I have to keep you wanting to come back-so am going to do it all a little at a time.
I had a happy mail day today let me tell you :D. I got lots of new goodies that you will see over the next couple days, including my much awaited Paper Trey!! WAHOOOO!
Another new set came! Its by C.C. Designs, and is being released VERY SOON! Its a Halloween set. When I saw this particular image in the set I was ecstatic! I thought it was super cute!!!
What little girl has NOT been a cat for Halloween? Its a must do at least once right?
It reminded me of this picture I have of Alexa at 3 years old.
She was just starting to walk on her own (hence the wide wobbly gait and look in the photo!) and it was her first school party. I had her wear black turtle neck, and pants. I had sewn on a feather boa for her tail-which she did manage to rip off by the end of the party.
I made the little pumpkin bag she is holding for her as well as her 22 classmates. I put everyones anme on each bag. You may remember my post a while back about doing things for school. This was one of the many things I’ve done. Lesson learned as the kids tried to peel their names off the bags. EEK! I wanted to die.
Anyway-isnt she cute?
I also have this photo of ME at 4 years old as a cat.
My mom made my costume. Much more creative than Alexa’s one I whipped together.
I think Amber will have to be cat this Halloween to go along with the tradition! Then Ill have to make a SmileBox creation of the 3 of us! I’ll have to ask my mom is she was ever a cat at this age! Then I will need the photo.
OK OK I know you are here to see the cat card! Who really cares where my love for the stamp originated, and all the blah, blah blah right? All I can say is this set is totally adorable. I’m honestly not a huge Halloween fan, but all the cute sets that have been released by everyone are really swaying me to creating more in that theme.
Is she not the cutest cat evah? I had to use flock on her so she is nice and fuzzy! Doesn’t she look like Alexa’s old photo?
I loved the bright non-traditional colors that this Salsa paper byJunkitz allowed me to create.
The pumpkin and sentiment are also from the set.
I cut the mouth out from the pumpkin, and layered some cardstock behind it. I also colored with my glitter pens so more sparkle and depth-
I had to add the layer of glitter paper by DCWV!
The stitched ribbon is May Arts. Love it all!
So there you have my Purrfect Halloween card.
I also created some other cool stuff that I will share tomorrow. It will be using some more NEW Releases!!
Let me know what YOU have for cool Halloween traditions. Share a cool recipe or a fun event or story! I totally LOVE hearing from you all. I always laugh when you share your funny stories. I’d even love to hear what you think your kids will be for Halloween.
As always thanks for reading 😀

That stamp is so cute but not nearly as cute as little Alexa. She is so adorable as a black cat. I honestly don’t remember being a cat, but I think I was a devil several times due to lots of red sleeper PJ’s. I think half my Halloween costumes were based on sleeper PJ’s.
I love Halloween, so much I got married on that day. I love telling people my anniversary is October 31st. It takes them a second and they ask “Is it always Halloween or does it move like Thanksgiving.”
Great card. I love that glitter paper, I need to go find some.
Take care. Yes, I think Amber should be a cat this year!
Oh my gosh! That stamp IS so cute! I’m like you… not a huge Halloween fanatic… but this is just (I’ll just be repetitive) SO CUTE! The artist is amazing! Great card!
SUPER adorable!!! The card, Alexa and you! 🙂 My oldest two are too old for trick or treating but my youngest is a dancer and she usually wears one of her recital costumes for Halloween, changing it up a little… I don’t think I ever was a cat…not that I can remember, anyways!
Adorable pictures…and I love your card!
Alexa is adorable! The stamp set is almost as cute:)
Great pictures and excellent card. I am not normally a cat lover but I want that stamp set! Awesome!

The card is co cute!!! But I really like the pictures of Alexa and you as cats SOOOO much more!!! I love seeing you creations, but also really enjoy hearing your stories and seeing pictures of your children also!!! You have such a beautiful family and are a fantastic mom!!! Keep up the awesome work with your cards and being a mom!!!
Hey Lauren…
First, I’m glad to hear you finally got your Papertrey stuff…I got mine yesterday too, and thought of you 🙂
I ADORE the pictures of Alexa and you as cats, and I agree, the stamp looks like her, but not quite as cute! fabulous card!!!
Halloween…ok, so I’m kind of weird. As a kid, I didn’t really like getting dressed up and trick or treating…I did like the candy of course, but I dunno…I’ve got some weird neuroses about people in costumes (I’ve gotten better with characters at Disney and stuff since having Shannon, but I really don’t like them) BUT– I LOOOVE to decorate for the holiday. My house is all lit up on Halloween, I’ve got these cool jack o’ lantern cauldrons with those fake flames (the silk with the orange lights and fans) that hang on my front porch, a fog machine, all sorts of fun, not gory, decorations…my brother wanted me to turn my back yard into a cemetary (the back of my property also faces another road, and doesn’t look like it belongs to my house) but we haven’t had time in the past to do that one yet, we’ll see this year…but that’s my fun for Halloween.
OMW. These pictures are adorable and I love this stamp. Way cute, card!
Halloween traditions – almost forgot. Adults drink whitch’s brew. Not sure what all is in it, but I could never balance myself on a broom stick after drinking it.
And this year for Halloween, we’ll see if the kids will pick something. If they are just “whatever”, they’ll be Thing 1 and Thing 2 and I’ll be the Cat in the HAt.
Adorable pictures of YOU and ALEXIS!!! How cute you both were in your kitty costumes…that is too fun!
Your card is GREAT, and that stamp IS a must-have! Thanks so much for sharing all that you did! (and the wedding looks like it was PERFECT!) 🙂
This is one of the cutest cards EVA!!! You went over the top on this one girlfriend. Love it.
Awww! What sweet memories!!! I remember most of our Halloween costumes as a kid were designed to go over our snowsuits! It was COLD up in northern Michigan (lower peninsula) and we lived in the sticks, so Dad would drive us around all night. We covered about 20 square miles to amass our bags of candy. I know I was a tiger once and my bro was a lion. We had these costumes made to go over our snowsuits so we didn’t freeze to death. The tails ALWAYS ripped off before the end of the evening!!!
Oh my gosh, this card is just too cute. So are the pics of you and Alexa in your kitty costumes.
Your pictures are adorable and the new stamp is very cute.
Mary
what adorable black cats – I love the flock on the paper one! you must get some of your creativity from you mom if she made that costume – both were very cute!
