Well, I got my High Hellos in from Lizzie Anne! Its a NEW Release that will be made available on September 10th! You can see those sets HERE.
While I was engrossed in inking my new sets, my kids decided to have some fun of their own.
Noah found a way to jam a toy into the fridge water dispenser-so that it would continuously keep pouring water out onto the floor. I guess that Spiderman car has more than one use afterall!
As it pooled on the floor, they stripped down to their undies, and began their version of a slip-n-slide across the kitchen floor.
I heard lots of giggling (from my stamp room downstairs)and knew something wasnt right! If they are HAPPY theres a PROBLEM.
I ran upstairs to see a HUGE puddle in the kitchen (along with my entire floor soaking wet) and Alexa was in the process of sliding across the floor on her butt as I emerged.
Lets say I was NOT happy. The look on their faces was priceless. I didnt even utter a word before they began scattering to grab paper towels to clean it up. 3 SOAKING wet kids in their underwear, sliding around frantically for something to whip up the mess. It looked like they hoped I had still not noticed.
They sat in time out for ONE hour-without a peep! That showed me they knew what they did was WAY wrong!
What a way to put a road block on the MOJO!
Back to my Lizzie Anne sets……………I had to share that.
I am in LOVE with them all. I began working with High Hello’s and seriously could NOT stop! I made alot of samples but for now will only share this one. Keep checking back to see more this week.
I decided for my Saturday Sketch that this would be perfect!
I hope you like it. I was very happy with how it turned out. Especially since the colors are so not my usual combo.
I LOVE layering-but keeping the layers nice and clean-not too overdone. You can really KILL a card by over doing it. Its good to know when to S-T-O-P!

This is a perfect one for the taller images you may not know what to do with.
Topiary Thoughts
I really loved this one. It was the first card done from my set. I made it yesterday morning.
I used this awesome Strano ribbon in 5/8 Petal. It gave me this combo of Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Not Quite Navy, Celery and Artichoke! Who would have thought? Not me.
I need more of their ribbon-seriously gorgeous. I love how I tied the bow. I didnt have enough ribbon left to make a knot so thats how I improvised. Just used my linen thread.
The tree was colored with my Copic Markers, and then some Sakura glitter pens. I added green stickles to the outter lines of the topiary. The key was not to fuss with how it was colored. I just swirled my markers in various greens around in circles like the image-DONE.
I love the sentiments in that set cause they are so interchangable with all the images-too fun! Im on a huge Prima kick. I cant NOT use them these days-that and rhinestone stickers! YIKES! I hope I get out of that rut. All this PRIMA purging is so hard.
Well I hope you like the sketch and have time to try it out! Put a link here so we can all see it OK!
Enjoy the weekend, and if you have a funny kid story I’d love to hear it. Maybe it will make me feel better 😀
They are only little for so long I guess.

What great sets!!! Those look like they would be fun to play with 🙂
All I can say about your kids is….bwahahahahaha!!!! That sounds like something my boys would try given the chance!
Gorgeous card! :o)
Oh Lauren, I love the story about your little trio’s slip and slide. It made me chuckle out loud. Can’t wait to try your sketch challenge. Thanks girlie!
Love the story about your kids. You should have joined them, I’ll bet that would have shocked them. Best of luck on your projects.
BeachBum
OMW, Lauren. Luke and Caleb must have sent your kids a memo. They love to do this! It makes me nuts. I know in theory it could be funny if it weren’t happening at my house. Hope there os no slippin and slidin inside the house again. Another beautiful card. Cool sketch too.
Love your slip n slide story. It was so funny that I had to tell Josh (DH). I was totally laughing out loud. I’m sure it would be irritating in my home, but this will be one of those stories you get to hang over their heads, telling friends and girl/boyfriends for the rest of their lives. Thanks for the giggle. Great card. Love this new Lizzie Anne set.
Those fridget water-dispensers are mom’s worse nightmare, I’m telling ya. Just last month my son and my nephew (3 and 4 years old) decided to make “soup” using the water dispenser, a bowl from the dishwasher, and then anything they could find on the counter to mix in. I happened to have salad dressing, peanut butter, and honey on the counter that day. I came downstairs to a watery, salad-dressing and peanutbuttery mess all over the floor. They were so proud. My son said, look Mom, we are bakers! So I feel your pain. 🙂
Cute card….that image is one of my favorites out of that set!
Oh my Lauren, that’s too funny! It’s too bad you didn’t get a picture.
Love this sketch; into my Idea Journal it goes. And since you asked, I DO have a funny story to share. My DD was probably 5 years old at the time. We were upstairs, watching a movie. Periodically she’d go downstairs and reappear a few minutes later. I didn’t think much of it till this happened like 3 or 4 times. So the next time she disappears, I decide to check up on her (guess I should have done that sooner, huh?). Anyway, I quietly walk into the kitchen and find her standing at the center island. She’s got white “stuff” all along her mouth, on her lips. Well, on that counter were three containers–one for coffee, one for sugar, one for flour. Seemed that the first few times she wenty downstairs, her hand went into the SUGAR container. But this last time, she either got greedy because there was more white stuff in the other container or she simply forgot, but instead of filling up her mouth with SUGAR, she had a mouthful of FLOUR! The look on her face was priceless, especially since she could hardly open her mouth because the flour was sticking to her teeth! When I asked her what she was doing (of course by this time, I already knew), she told me “Nothing”–but the flour stuck in her front teeth gave it all away. She just turned 13 and we STILL talk about that day!
Love the way you colored the tree.
Your card turned out so pretty! I love your coloring of the tree, and added sparkle! Way to improvise on the tie…it looks wonderful!
Great story of the kids’ water fun…even though it wasn’t so much fun at the time.
Love the new Lizzie Anne sets, and can’t wait to see what you do with them. 😉
Oh MY! Obviously at the moment it happens, and the fact it’s YOUR kids in YOUR house, makes this not funny, but what a vision I have in my head 🙂 Sorry they made such a mess, but at least it’s a funny story to look back on, right???
AWESOME sketch, and great card!!! Looking forward to the new release!
Hi Lauren! I loved the story about your kiddos! I can just see those sweet little angelic faces filled with glee as they slid across the kitchen floor in their undies!! How funny!! I know……I’m sure it wasn’t funny at the time, but they’re gonna have a great memory of that (up till the point that they got caught!!) when they grow up, and you will too! You’ll all be laughing together about it one day!
Thanks for sharing with us! Have a goodie!
Oh the memories of children gone wild!! Cherish them as they grow up all too fast. Loved your sketch and thought I would give it a try.
Pat’s Card
I know it probably wasn’t all that funny, but I have this hysterical picture of the kiddos in their undies flying across the kitchen! I would have found it hard not to crack a smile…that would have been a prime scrapbooking opportunity! Glad they “got it” that they were bad…bad children…*grin*
Well Lauren, I’ve heard that paybacks can be h*ll! LOL! I really love this sketch and had to try it myself. Mine is here
