More Dirty Work! AND A CONTEST!

Jul 28, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

So here I am doing MORE challenges! This is all for the Dare to Get Dirty week.

This first card is for Lindsay’s (aka jacksonbelle) Black, Brown and White flower challenge. Pretty cool look for flowers I think!

bwb la challenge I LOVE the way this turned out. I really like the whimsical yet elegant images this set offers. Iused Jolies Fleur, and Funky Floral (hello sentiment) by Lizzie Anne Designs

NOTE: Lindsay is having a Lizzie Anne contest! Check it out!

SOOOOOOOOOO-I Stamped on Kraft cardstock in basic black ink.

I then colored with my Copic markers in a light brown shade. I used a white pencil for the flower parts. Its generally one used for the crayon resist type of technique but I liked the fuzzy look it gave.

Copper tag made with my Making Memories tag maker. There is glitter on the flower that is on the tag done with my Sakura glitter pen.

The satin ribbon is a deep chocolate color-by Martha Stewart.

NEXT UP

Pretty Papertrey Borders

PT pale challenge Well this one I LOVE because I love purple, scallops, butterflies and pastels! I did this one for Jan’s (aka JanTink) Lighter shade of pale challenge.

Alexa has a pair of PJ’s like this so it totally inspired me. Its everywhere if you just LOOK!

I made my scalloped punches into flowers! I also love my idea of making a word within the border stamp! I just stamped HAPPY first, then (because they are clear) I placed my block with dotted image over the word before inking, and colored only what should be (to omit dots over the word) with my markers. PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!

I used the following sets from Paper Trey Ink – Butterfly Kisses, Border & Corners circles, Paper Tray (sentiments), And Green Thumb (the swirl for the fluttertrail, stems and leaves). What a way to squeeze almost every PT set owned right!

Im totally bummed cause RIGHT after I punched the pink scallop my SU! Punch bit the dust! Just like everyone else. I am fuming. Its a supah cute scallop too.

I used that scallop and the Marvy Giga circle one as well. Ribbon is by American Crafts.

Now onto Vintage Values.

This card was done for the challenge sample that Meg (aka WAYO) hosted.

It is my very favorite Gina K stamp.

 Barrow of Friendship

vintage values I am not generally into sponging, but after this card I was hooked! I LOVE how this turned out. My paper matched perfect (Sorry NO CLUE where I got it!) and inspired my flowers in the barrow.

I stamped the wagon on natural ivory cardstock. I used my singlo gel pen in white for the daisies. Drew in some grass, pucnhed out with my Giga Scallop circle then sponged in 3 different types of Tim Holts distressing inks! Those are as awesome as you hear they are. You can get them at ALL THAT SCRAPS

My card layer is also natural ivory stamped with the WEAVE bkgd from CHF, which is a favorite of mine as well. The sentiment is by A Muse. I stamped the word “friend” again in olive to make my tab on the side.

You know I love MARTHA! So I used her border punch and ribbon to help complete the look.

Now onto Jenn’s challenge (aka jbalcer). She used a color challenge. This was my take on it

Sunshiny Day

impress brights I loved all the bright colors. This flower is the same one I used for my Acetate sample, in another post. Its from Impress. I believe Savyy makes it. I had this ribbon by Fancy Pants and it was my inspiration. I RARELY use all brights. So this was a fun challenge for me.

Added a POP of black with my Sakura gel pen. The sentiment is from A Muse

Pretty cheery dont you think.

Thanks for looking!

O’ the Holidays

Jul 28, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

O chtistmas tree o’Christams Tree

Here are some samples I made for the New Release from MY FAVORITE THINGS set Home for the Holidays. I told you I have been busy, and there is more where these came from. Lots more to share. The idea was to keep it really simple and easy to make and send! Now I like that!

I made these samples over the last 2 months or so (plus some others you will see soon).

The top sample I call O’Christmas Tree. Just a nice quick card with this super cute set.

The tree was stamped on DCWV Glitter stack. I wrapped these lightbulb strings (thanks Barb!) around it for a decoration. The patterned paper is by Memory Box. Very Christmasy.

Wreath full of Wishes

wreathful wishes Now this is a quick Christmas card. Another one that would be a great for mass production.

All I did was take the SU! scalloped circle punch (now broken!) and my 1 inch circle punch for the center.

I stamped my pine bough image around the “wreath” and used the red solid ornaments as the berries. Cut a “door”, which I used the corner rounder on, and a SEI brad. Some DTP for wood grain and adhered it to a red base that was crimped with my paper crimper. You could of course really dress this up more but I wanted to keep it simple.

Here comes Santa Claus

down the chimny This is actually a window card. When you open it, Santas feet are on the inner panel. The fireplace is stamped, and cut on dimensionals. The patterned paper, is sort of like wall paper?! Again another quick card. I love this set.

Christmas in the summer. Now is the time to really get ready so the holiday prep is LOWER stress. I am determined to get my Christmas projects ASAP! No last minute stress.

Dude-Its Saturday Sketch time!

WOW Saturday already! You know what that means-SKETCH time! I LOVE seeing your creations with the sketches. So let me know if you do one, by sending me a link! OK!

I like when we take layers to the END. Not all layers need to have space around all 4 sides. Take it to the edge sometimes!!!!!! Mix it up and make it interesting. With this sketch the possibilities are endless really.

I also LOVE using circles-ALOT.

When I look at this image by The Cat’s Pajama’s I think MOON DOGGY. Im just havin too much fun with these. I have more on my wish list. But a girl has to wait SOMETIMES! Not enough $$$$$ for more right now.

This was obviously heavily inspired by my paper from Junkitz  called Fanciful Flowers. Isn’t it just purty?

Anyway-so I went with it. Colored this with my Copic markers. I have to say they are so worth the money to me. I have any/every color imaginable. BUT I am also into this for the long haul and found it to be helpful in this as a buisness.

Ribbon is by Michaels. Sentiment is by A Muse. I love A Muse sentiments-their font is so fun.

Have you seen the new ones? OMW!

My list-

so many stamps……so little time

For a special teacher-stack of books is a maybe (it does have a coffe cup and I love coffe images too)

stamp shop

baby penguin/igloo ( LOVE penguin images!! no idea why)

partridge tree (Im just hooked on birds and tree images. Love em all)

And that should do it. I dont have A Muse style but think their stuff is ultra cute, as long as I dont try to keep it true A Muse design Im good. Make sense??

Anyway-enjoy the sketch. Have a great day.

Some Dirty Challenges-A cool find

Jul 28, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items

So I did a few more challenges. I then noticed they were ALL with Lizzie Anne sets! AND all in browns! Too funny.

Would you call that a roll of inspiration, or stuck in a color scheme rut? I dont know, but I love all my samples! 😀

In case you didnt know, Lizzie Anne is also being sold at eP, and All That Scraps. As is My Favorite Things Stamps. Now that is cool cause those are my top 2 places where I buy EVERYTHING!

OK, So back to my samples. Yesterday when I uploaded for the Acetate challenge hosted by Candy (aka cwilliams), I forgot this one ! DUH!!! The funny part is this card was used for one of her samples, to showcase Acetate. So forgetting I even made it to me was hilarious. It was literally in my face.

Anyway-Here is my Seashells on te Beach

seashells acetate

Totally no secret how much I LOVE this set. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. Its called Shore Thoughts.

I made this card for the woman who donated an AMAZING lunch when we went on our boat trip on  Lake Winnipesaukee . Its a really cool program for the pediatric cancer patients to get a cool boat for the day, that included lunch/dinner and ice cream. We could go anywhere on the lake ALL day! The kids LOVED it.

Here’s a quick photo of each of them driving! No surprise Noah wanted to go FAST, and was the most irratic driver! Amber loved the breeze from the speed, and mainly sat at the back in the sun. Alexa LOVED going swimming and chasing ducks.  Just click the thumbnail to view a close shot.

noah boat             amber boat            alexa driving boat

I stamped the shells in white StazOn, on the acetate layer. Used myPopping Acetate technique. The chalks are once again the Pebbles Pearlescent chalks. On the white layer under the shells I used Beige Brilliance ink for the sand.

Very simple yet beautiful card all the same. I really loved how it turned out.

Now onto Lina’s challenge (aka labullard)which is Dry Embossed Vellum. Now you know how much I LOVE vellum, so this was a must do.

Here is my Vellum Seashell

shell card

This is so beautiful in real life. The shell was stamped in brown StazOn, then turned over. I used my Copic markers to color behind the shell in soft pink colors. Then it was embossing time.

Here is a closer look

seashells See how perfect this shell was for this technique? The star fish were just done in white craft ink. I then took my Glue Pad and stamped the sand. Added a pinkish brown glitter by Martha Stewart for my sandy look.

The stripped paper even though its brown/pink had a beachy feel to me. Its by CTMH the More to Adore collection. I stamped my sentiment on Iced Pink Prism cardstock (little texture) then overlayed the vellum for softness. The ribbon was found at Michaels.

Now for a cool find!

box of blooms This is a box. Not just any box. It was the box that my Martha Stewart scissors came in! CHECK THIS OUT

So when I got then home, I opened the package to find this TOP QUALITY box. I thought-OMG! I cant throw this away. Its a flip open box with acetate top. There is a pretty elastic ribbon that wraps around it to hold it closed.  I removed the cushion that the scissors fit into. And there it came!

I wanted a “decoration” for my stamp room that was inspirational. Since Jolies Flower is my favorite, and I LOVE that Paisley as a Butterfly I went to it. PLUS this sentiment from Inky Antics is my most cherished saying. I really love it. It reminds me that we dont always have all the time in the world to make our dreams happen. So do all you can TODAY, cause TODAY is what matters most. Its not how much time we have here but what we do with it that counts.

So, I cut a piece of Soft Sky cardstock-stamped 2 of the Jolies Fleurs from Lizzie Anne on the cardstock, as well as the sentiment. Colored with Copic markers, and placed it IN the box.

On the box lid I stamped my Paisley Butterfly. I colored it from the back, again with Copic Markers. NOTE: These markers color on all sorts of surfaces and are permanent!

I then added some bling from A Muse for the body of the butterfly.

Now the flower is stamped, cut and colored twice. The center flower is on dimensionals. The is very 3D in real life with 4 layers or interest!

Around the edge of my box I wrapped some coordinating Martha Stewart adhesive ribbon. WOW! Is that stuff awesome.

This was done for Kelly’s challenge (aka atomicbutterfly). She is my stamping IDOL-next to Nichole Heady who currently has my dream job at Paper Crafts! LOL!

SOMEDAY!

I think we all have “someone” who inspires us. I hope that my blog inspires YOU. As that is my purpose in this whole venture.

Thanks for reading my blah, blah, blah.

Enjoy your weekend.

See you back here tomorrow-more Dirty Challenges! YEAH! What a fun week huh?
